Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Medical Examination in Netherland
QUOTE (pakaporn @ Nov 1 2007, 06:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i am Thai and live in NL .i dont have old records medical so where i need to go for medical exam because i need to injections all vaccine
what is Packet 3 Forms and Instructions . can you give a advice please. so i can prepared
thank you
katea

Well today was my medical so here my experience:

When i recieved Packet 4 it gave me the phone numbers of Dr. Schulte and of the Jan van Goyen Clinic in Amsterdam. You need to first call the dr. and then the clinic. So i got my appointments and filled in part of the forms that were in the packet too. Its not much and thet explain it well, just your info and passport number.
I took tram 24 (or you can take 16) to Museumplein which took 15mins. It was easy to find the drs office and so i got there 15 mins early. The assistent was really helpful and nice eventhough the phone was ringing non-stop. She prepared my papers (put stamps and dates) and wend through one of the forms. I cant remember which one it was but basically she wend through all the deseases and addictions possible. Very quick. (Good to know is that if you take any medicine, bring it with you or write down the name, they want to know it).

She then checked my vaccination book and i didnt need any more. MMR i had when i was 9 and DTP boost i did at my own dr. This is really advisable as it saves you lots of money. Also, do not take a vaccination add-on to your insurance, the money you pay extra is not worth it. DTP cost me 15euros. Then she told me to go ahead and go do the xray at the clinic. Im guessing because they were running late and i could come back later and be seen to straight away.

Sooooo i walked to the clinic (about 20mins if that) and there were some people there so i had to wait about 30mins. The xray took all of 5 mins and then I paid the 50 euros and left. They sent the xray once checked to the embassy.

Soooooo i walked aaaaall the way back to the dr. I was indeed seen to straight away. First by his son (also dr), he took blood. Then on to the office to do the examination. He asked some more questions about my medical history. Then he measured me, weighed me (i need to lose some pounds...) checked my blood pressure, eyes and mouth and then made me breath and listened to my heart and did some knocking on my chest and back. That was it. He explained me that if i wouldnt hear anything this week, all would be fine. All documents are being sent to the embassy. Oh yeah... and i paid 155 euros.

All in all it was pleasant and fast. My first appointment was at 10, then xray at 12pm, but somehow i walked to the trainstation at 12pm. Hmm.. Very flexible. The dr was nice and asked me all about my new home and husband.

Hallo allemaal,

Hurricane Ike destroyed 3 schools, made many many people evacuate and not come back (start over somewhere else or house is destroyed). we ended up losing 25% of our kids. losing 3 schools and 25% of kids means is we need less teachers and staff. 220 have been fired. its hard but we understand it had to happen. me being the last in...

wow, im away for a few days and look at all this good news! congrats everyone!

No news on the job front. I wont know till after springbreak now. Yesterday i had to be the one getting the teachers that are being fired, from their room. It was an awful job, but im the principals secretary. as soon as the teachers realised that if i would come to their room it meant bad news, they started calling me the grim reaper. a joke of course, but a bit of a sour one. it has made me a little depressed. only 2 'deserved' to be fired. the other 6 definately not.

we got married just the 2 of us. We drove up to hot springs AR and had booked 2 nights in a fancy hotel and 2 nights in a B&B where we would get married. I was wearing a light pink dress and had my hair done at the Arlington (old hotel). i remember that the hairdresser asked me if i was nervous and i said no, i dont have 200 people waiting for me, just my fiance. smile.gif it was 31st dec 2007. sunny and 60F, perfect! the people who married us, were so nice, we had gotten to know them well and they invited us to a NYE party of their friends (alan and joe). We went and had a great time. We are now even better friends with them! Alan and joe are the ones we stayed with when we were evacated. We will also see them monday during our trip.

We werent going to do anything else, but then my mum came over in may 08 and we decided to have a little ceremony again at thomas' parents house.

Thanks for the welcome, and good luck to you too!

I have lived in the United States from late 2000 to late 2007, and met my fiancee at our local community college (in the beginning of 2007, I was 17 at the time). I've been back in the Netherlands ever since and we've been having to visit each other roughly every 6 months ever since. I've been attending university for about half a year, but I'd like to continue my education in the US, as I've completed both high school and a year of college there. At first we had plans of having my fiancee move over here, but I really miss the US, and we're unsure if it would even work out as well over here as it would in the US. My fiancee does not earn much money at the moment and neither do I, so we're having her parents cosponsor my visa and we'll both get our degrees once I'm there. It has been hard staying apart for such a long time after almost having visited each other daily during my stay in the US, so I'm glad we finally get to be together. While we're waiting on the application to be processed I'll probably stop school and get a full time job (I REALLY need the money) so that I don't come to the US broke. I'm sure we're one of the younger couples on the forums, but we're just tired of being apart and want to spend the rest of our lives together =]

I actually did have a question:
I've read that beneficiaries are required to get police certificates from all places they've lived at after the age of 16. How would this work for the period of time I've lived in the US? Will they just look in my record and find it themselves? Or do I need to request it from the FBI or something?

Hi! And Welcome! We will help you as much as we can! I am Marieke (28) (the dutchie obviously) and my husband is Thomas (27). We went through the K1 and i received my greencard in july08! Its painful being apart, but we all agree here that its ALL WORTH IT! good.gif
Good luck with all the paperwork, all i can say is triple check it!

Sorry for the double post, but if we're showing photos I am an amateur photographer just starting out with a D-SLR, so images aren't great quality:

My yards resident lizard, I sunbathe with him when it's nice weather. Hope to see him back this year.

The American Memorial at Bastogne, Belgium. This is the view from the crypt on to the monument. Very moving.

This is a rotating wall cloud that became a tornado about 2 minutes after this, about 1.5 miles away from us. This is the biggest one I have seen so far, it was raining heavily so it's a bad image and I've doctored it slightly to show cloud contrast better. No one was hurt by it, we live very remote.

my works computer wont show me pics sad.gif i'll have to wait till i get home and get on my mac. Tornadoes.. that would scare me, they are amzing to watch ... on tv!

Ooh Macchu Pichu would be so great. One of my closest friends is from Lima and she lives in London. I am waiting for her to move back home so i get the real tour! Its great to combine it with the SaltFlats in Bolivia, great deal for not that much more (sorry old habit, used to be a travel agent!) Its always best to know somebody there and live with them a little. I was able to do this in NYC, KL, Thailand, Philippines, Oz and Brasil. I would stay 3-5 weeks. London is so great for getting deals on flights! I worked in a youth hostel most of my time there and i had 32 holidays a year. So with time on my hands, discounts in hostels all over the world and good deals on flights i really took advantage of that. Great way to meet people.
Ever since i got here we have been camping and roadtripping. I did some of the things you mentioned. New Orleans is so beautiful, definately take some tours. Even the ghost tours are fun! Make sure you go at least 2 days. Since one night you will drinks hurricanes and handgranates... Washington was great, i walked everywhere. And i love undergrounds so that was a real plus! I travelled there with a friend on the greyhound from NY. I saw a rocket launch, unfortunately not a space shuttle. The experience was amazing and i can only imagine the power of a shuttle. I lived in in Orlando for 6 months so i travelled a lot in FLA, but also GA and SC. I love the south! For me SF, Chicago, Portland (OR), Philly and Colorado are my next wishes.
I used to travel alone, visit friend and really backpack. Now i LOVE sharing it with my Thomas. We have one place we both really want to go and thats India. Any of you ever been? Thomas is a Ghandi fan so wants to walk the steps Ghandi did.

i think we all agree on how strong we will be and how the waiting game makes it all the more exciting with some obstacles on the way!

I would LOVE to go to Cananda Paul! Banff NP has been my dream since high school. I made 2 of my travel dreams come true and the feeling was so good: Corcovado in Rio and cross Thailand in a train.
Thomas wants to do more Europe of course. When we first met (in London) i bought him and me a plane ticket to Helsinki. It was a great deal. We then even added Holland to the trip! He now really wants to go to Rome and Spain. All in good time. I think him and i will end up living in Europe.

i bet you will, i bet Pat will be wanting to go everywhere! the US is so pretty and opposite from europe! i hate it when people dont want to go to the US 'because it not their thing'! they have never been! i have travelled many places all around the workd and its way up there for me! Every country is different. I think partly it was maybe the Bush-hatred. Which is unfair if thats a reason. Maybe now that we have obama people will come. What do you think?

I'm going house-hunting....sort of...LOL! I'm trying to find a place to rent, I'm staying with my parents at the moment...until I can find just the right place for us. And this is my weekend without my daughter (she'll be at her Dad's) so it's going to be a bit quiet... sad.gif

The rest of the time I'll be helping my Dad outside and talking to Patrick online..:-)

Marieke - Where are you going for your Springbreak? When I have vacation, I usually stay in or around San Antonio. When Patrick was here last June, we went to Corpus and really liked it! I think Mustang Island is gorgeous!

I dont like finding a place to live. Its stressful and then you have to move!! Phew!

We are going: 2 nights austin (we have a wedding) staying with friend, then to dallas staying with friends, then to hot springs, AR staying with friends, then memphis, nashville, birmingham and new orleans! In NOLA we are stasying in a haunted hotel in the french quarter, the others in a motel6 =)

We havent been to Corpus area yet. I dont particularly want to go springbreak... =)
In the summer we want to drive to Colorado, i have the feeling thats going to be my favorite area!

LOL, it is quite far as I'm in England now. But if I were in Holland it'd be a piece of (cup?)cake!

I'm banking on mid-April now, which isn't awful to be honest. I just want this to be done with, we're fighting a lot right now about nothings. We'll pull through, but it's bothering us both that we fight on the phone, so we're on "chat mode" only for awhile to see if that helps. Neither of us want to argue, but the stress doesn't help. I'm trying to run a household in proxy from 4500 miles with her, if we can do this we can do bloody anything, eh.

Its hard. I know you know this but sometimes you need to be reminded that it will be so worth it in the end!
Maybe you can do something small and cute, just to make her day. Maybe some flowers or a handwritten card in the mail. My husband did that when we were getting down and out with it. Its a hard process and you need to pull eachother through this. Just stay sweet to eachother and if you fight, call back later. Its not worth it.

You say you miss holland but i miss london! I lived there for 5 years. What a great time!

Jeanine - Oh no!! That does truly stink! If your having trouble then I'm sure Patrick will too since he'll need them from around 1969 or so. I think he's pretty much decided though to just get the ones Marieke mentioned again and have that part done.

TGIF everyone!!!!! Anyone have plans for the weekend?

Well tonight we are having a BBQ on the roof of our building with all the people in the building. Tomorrow we have to go to work, its a make up day for what we missed during the hurricane. We missed 17 days, 10 days were forgiven by TEA but 7 we have to make up for, so no more early releases or holidays plus 2 saturdays. It sucks to say the least. So Saturday night im not sure yet. Sunday we are going to Thomas' sisters new apartment. Then on to Houston to see a friend and Ikea after.

We booked our hotels last night for our Springbreak trip! I AM SO EXCITED!!! I love roadtrips!! Whats yalls favorite area of the US?

I hope you don't mind keeping us informed on the steps as you do them? I read in other countries it can be up to a three month wait to have your interview...I'm really curious to see how the Netherlands are.

I've already started gathering documents here....my financial things like paystubs, tax forms...etc. I need to feel like I'm doing something productive while I'm waiting.

2 months is really fast. I got my approval 2 years ago and at that time it was also 3 months. Well done! In holland the timeline for an interview is 5 weeks. And thats what i got. The dutch embassy is really normal and regular. We're lucky!!

Cool....5 weeks is nothing compared to some of the others!!!

yeah, that's more like European style icing. On the odd occasion I have made fairy cakes (what we call cupcakes), any icing would be 1/3 real butter, 2/3 icing sugar and then some flavor like vanilla extract, coconut powder (ground), cocoa powder, lemon drizzle, etc, etc.

I'm not your typical man, I have a passion for cooking, so I'll let you know if I find any decent recipes! Mainly because I then get to eat good food, but that's besides the point hehe.

Edit: BBC has a decent one:

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Any Dutch/American couples??
i jsut returned to my office. A therapist was using it, so he kicked me out for the day. Went to Wal-Mart to get some candy for my desk and lunch. Last night went to the Mardi Gras parade. It was fun. We live in downtown so its all happening under our window. Thats a nice experience. I'll be sure to post on my blog the stories of the weekend and some pics. Hows everyone's day?

Ladies, you are going way too fast for me.
Can someone direct me to the forms or the right place where we can find what we need for the next step so we can start getting things together also?

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.
3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.
6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.
7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

it wasnt that bad. I turned it right around. Cost us maybe a week. I really think it was that 1090A or something.

Oh ok...that's not bad at all! And now i'm off to see what a 1090a is...lol!

Check this link http://travel.state....o-FAQ-Final.pdf Sent copies!

I also remembered that my RFE was when i was already here, for my AOS. I doubt it was a 1090A i probably made that up! whistling.gif But i remember it was something that came in after i sent the package off. Something to do with taxes.
