My Priority Date is  31JUL2012.

I want to tell my case history to you to ask few more things. I gave birth to my little daughter in November,2013. I got my case complete email from NVC in Dec,2013, but by then we haven't added child to the case. After getting case completion email in Dec we sent request to add her to the case, to which they asked for passport and birth certificate. We submitted the required documents of our child in February and submitted her separate DS 260 too. Now again we got case completion email on 13 march. I want to know if we will receive two different case completion emails, one for me and second for my daughter? Or we are done with all the processing. And when there will be change in the case status? Currently it is "At NVC".

Hi Sukhi4498

Hello,

I have to resubmit my I864 form due to error on it. I submitted on March 3rd. All the other document is cleared like civil docs n others. Does anyone know how long does it take to review it and case complete (other than 30 days). If anyone had the same issue then how long it took NVC to review and  finish the case.

Thank you for the help.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaPost NOA2: upcoming steps?
Hello everyone! We got our noa2 last Monday and the hard copy in the mail today! I've been doing a lot of reading and gathering info on VJ so could you all help me confirm my thoughts?

My NOA2 didn't say it was being sent to the NVC but that it has been forwarded to the listed consulate (nothing was listed?). My petition was processed in Texas so I called them. The man seemed confused and just regurgitated standard information. Basically said the petition is still there.

After researching on VJ though I've read that it can take a few weeks to be sent to the NVC and to just keep calling. It may even get updated to that status on the USCIS website. So that's cool I can wait!

In the meantime I want to know what I could be doing. For example I'm going to send my fiance our entire package and scans of the NOAs via email.

From what I've read when the NVC does get the packet and I get my case number (will I only find out if I call them?) and they've sent me a letter, they will send it to the US embassy in his country. Once the embassy has it they will send a packet 3 to my fiance with a checklist and forms, correct?

The checklist includes info on how to get the medical exam (in his case, in Lima, Peru) and the 156 and 156d forms. One of which he needs to fill out a duplicate of right?

Will they instruct him how to set up an interview appt or will they assign him one? Do we pay the fee for that online or in person?

In the mean time I need to fill out a 134 showing that I can support him financially with some supporting papers. I'm reading I only need 2 of what they list, is that correct? For example a letter from my bank with my accounts and how much I have, a letter from my employer and how much I make, police certificates (Is it needed if I've never been arrested?), tax info from the past two years, I believe that's it. Is all of that needed?

I'd like to know so I can start contacting my boss and bank and life insurance company now in case they take a long time to respond! Did anyone have problems with gathering this info or how much info did you gather? I don't know how long I should wait to ask for the letters because I wouldn't want the information to be three months old for the interview, but then again I don't want to risk waiting too long to ask and not getting it in time.

Then I must send all of that to him (scanned?) so he can bring that along with him to the interview along with his forms and medical results.

Then more proof of our relationship/engagement. It would be smart to use new material than what we originally sent with the petition correct?

As of right now we only have conversation and FaceTime logs since he proposed and we applied this summer. I am considering flying out a week before his interview to gather all the material together and take more pictures and have more evidence of our relationship/engagement.

Sorry for the ridiculously long post. Thanks for taking time to read it! Just want to make sure I have all the details right. I really appreciate any help from those who have gone through this whole process post NOA2! :)

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaContents of Packets 3 and 4 from Embassy in Lima

Well, xD

This is all I could find.... x_X

http://emilylikestom...adventures.html

I hope it's somewhat helpful?

You might want to call the embassy and ask them what do you need to send...

-Mari-

Thank you! I think i've been to that site before haha. Yeah I will probably email them. It just takes a few emails back and forth for them to finally understand my question. So wanted to try here first lol

Packet 3 doesn't apply for Peru, but the ds-160 you should be able to complete anytime you want. I got a letter from NVC directing me to have my fiance start the ds-160. We filled it out last night. It's relatively simple, it took about 1 hour. You need to upload a digital current passport photo of yourself for it as well. We're in the process of waiting for an appointment date, or case was ready yesterday. Ahhh.. so excited, but impatient. I wish we knew our date!!! smile.png

Did you guys get your new date yet for Jan?

That's what it looks like to me... Maybe it doesn't apply to peru or maybe the DS160 took place of that? We started filling it out! My fiance doesn't have a laptop or internet and every other day he's on a boat which is his job so I'm filling it out for him since it would be difficult to do so on his phone haha. It's taking us some time because I can't go further until I get more info from him.

Not yet! We'll know after our original date of december 2nd has passed. They asked me to send a reminder email of the rescheduling then. A whole month of waiting! So we're gathering stuff in the mean time.

If packet 3 doesn't apply to Peru, then we'll continue as is with the checklist they gave us! :P

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaContents of Packets 3 and 4 from Embassy in Lima

We filed for a K1 visa and my fiance and I have gotten all the way to the assigned interview step.

They gave us a December interview date via email after I asked and they also sent us the interview checklist for my fiance. We asked to reschedule as soon as they emailed us back, so today I confirmed that they did not mail my fiance anything since we decided to reschedule. All we have is the old interview letter pre-rescheduling and the checklist that we got via email.

I believe those two items are packet 4, correct? I've been reading around and I can't figure out what packet 3 is. The US embassy Lima page seems outdated still as it still includes the old forms and not the new DS 160 form. The checklist we got specifically says to use the online DS 160 form so we know it applies to this embassy. But on the embassy page there is no info on packet 3.

I can't find a really current thread on this, so I would appreciate information from any VJers out there who have recently received information from the Lima embassy via mail. It's starting to look like packet 3 doesn't apply for Peru?

Thank you!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaK-1 Visa Lima Consulate Paying MRV/Signing up for Appointment Online

My Fiancee's application was FINALLY shipped to the NVC and then to the Lima consulate on the 25th of Oct.

When he called today to see if he could find out his scheduled interview time (Peruvian mail is notoriously slow, and he hasn't received the packet yet), the consulate worker said that he just had to pay the MRV fee in cash to the bank and then could schedule the appointment after. He said to do so through this site: http://usvisa-info.com.

But as we signed him up for the site and went through the process described to get the printable bank slip, nothing works. We are never directed to the page to print off the PDF bank slip to pay.

Has anyone experienced this? Or know how to deal with this part of the process? I am kind of confused, because I have been reading that others pay the MRV fee AT the consulate during their interview, so I don't know why the process is different for us?

All of these different instructions and hold ups are starting to get SO frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated!

Also, does anyone have a good e-mail address to contact the consulate in Lima? We keep getting different e-mail addresses, and none of them seem to work well...

Thanks!

Hey girl! I know this was before we chatted yesterday, but just confirming you know now that he doesn't pay online, but at the interview. If you go to the Embassy reviews page you can read a bunch of stories of how people paid at the embassy :) and a tip I am seeing is to bring exact cash.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCase assigned on it's way to Embassy -PERU!-

Hye Cristi1231

I have a question.
What is the NVC letter? we haven't received it and now i'm worried. Our case is still in transit to the embassy.
Thanks for the information. I'll make sure to follow and gather those documents.

Oh sorry for worrying you! Don't worry too much about that. I got it like 3 weeks after the NVC received it, the embassy already had it and we already had gotten our interview date haha. It's a letter from the NVC stating they have your petition. So I got it WAY late. Do you have your interview date already? I'm sure you'll get it before your interview. It's not like the USCIS in how they send you your NOA1 and NOA2 a week after they tell you via email. Also, double check, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary to have this letter. The main thing is the NOA2

cristi1231FemalePeru2013-11-11 12:49:00
Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCase assigned on it's way to Embassy -PERU!-

- Start gathering everything required for affidavit 130.

- Make sure you meet 125% of the poverty line in what you make yearly. You can google 2013 poverty line, and just do the math. It's about 19,000.

- Figure out how much you have in checking and savings, bonds, life insurance and property you own.

- passport pics of both of you, more evidence (what you sent in the petition and new stuff), letter of intent to marry, letter from the bank with your account info, letter form your employer, tax returns of past two years (i was told Peru specifically asks for this. http://www.irs.gov/I...er-a-Transcript), tax w2s of past two years, birth certificate (I'm bringing both of ours just in case originals and copies), Your NOA2, your NVC letter, last 3 paystubs.

Sorry if I'm forgetting anything. A lot of these are not required, but wouldn't hurt to bring. Check out these links:

Scroll down to the "once approved" area

http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

Info on support items for the affidavit:

http://www.visajourn...content/support

And then I stalked other VJ-ers to see what they brought just in case :)

What your fiance can do is make sure he understands everything he will have to do off the checklist they send him (I can get that to you) and make sure he has info of the two doctor's in Peru that are approved by the emassy for physicals (I can get that to you too!).

He can make sure his passport is good and not expiring soon, make sure he has passport photos and his birth certificate, and evidence he has of your relationship on his end.

He can't do as much until the embassy receives it but he can definitely be mentally ready to jump on the process!

cristi1231FemalePeru2013-10-31 13:04:00
Mexico, Latin & South AmericaReligious Ceremony in Peru allowed?

Don't risk it. Somehow they can find out and your fiance petition wouldn't be valid anymore.

if you're concerned about family, start talking to them now about possibly getting tourist visas to attend your wedding in the US! I also know a couple who streamed their wedding live so their friends and family could watch from Peru.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaEstimated Interview Date? Lima, Peru

Cristi I'm also awaiting an interview date and my fiance and mine paperwork arrived in lime also the 25th. Any new word that you know of? I check the ceac website many times a day and it still says "ready" but no sight of the interview date or packet. Anyone know what's gonna be required in the packet?

Sorry for the delayed response.

If it your case is ready, I encourage you to email them at LimaIV@state.gov.

  • For Status Inquiries for Immigrant Visa (including Fiancée) Cases:
    • The subject line must contain "IV Inquiry," the case number (with prefix of LMA), and the applicant's last name.
    • The first paragraph must include the full names of the petitioner and the applicant, the type of visa, and your contact information.

Found at the bottom of the website here http://lima.usembass...ontact_us2.html

Set up your email that way so they can get you your information as quickly as possible. They should have already assigned you your interview date. Probably it's very soon. The packet is probably taking a while to get to your fiance by mail so you should email so you can get your interview date ASAP so you can prepare.

For me they emailed me my interview letter and a checklist of things the peruvian fiance will need to prepare. Our case was ready on October 28 and we got an interview date of December 2nd. We chose to postpone it though.

If while you wait for the embassy to reply, I can email you the checklist they sent me and the Peruvian doctors' information for the medical exam. Shoot me a message!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaEstimated Interview Date? Lima, Peru

I don't know what the norm is, but ours took a while.  We had a NOA2 of July 18th and the embassy didn't receive our case until Sept 9th.  I doubt it'll take that long for yours.  Check the CEAC website at https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx? for your case status and when it says ready you can call, actually emailing the embassy is easier I think, and find out your interview date.

Thank you! it looks like Peru is working a month at a time. November is currently full but December is still open.

Hello!

I was able to track our petition package on the DHL website when the NVC said they sent it out. I think it just arrive at the Embassy in Lima, Peru today!

Our NOA2 was September 30th. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can see the interview statistics or interviews available of an Embassy so I can guestimate when my fiance will be setting up an interview appointment? Or if anyone knows generally how long the interview is from the NOA2?

I'm hoping it's January so I can have new vacation time from my job and I can go with him, but our approval expires January 29.

Thank you!

There's no room for the Urbanization on the I-129F Form. How do I take care of this? Should I leave it off, or should I use a continuation sheet?

Just checked a copy of our petition, and I dont think I put Urb either. I put the city (Ate in my case) in the city, and Lima as the province, and Peru as the country :) no problems either!

Hello Tru love!

If the NVC said they sent it out through DHL on the 22nd then my reference would be EXP 22 OCT 2013A correct? The waybill you gave me is for the reference EXP 23 OCT 2013A.

If I used the 22nd one, then according to DHL there are two packages that have already been signed for in Lima so it's there! Just wanted to pick your brain and see if that makes sense to you.

Thanks for these posts!

We sent in our packet 3 today before I noticed all the posts and we did not send an envelope. Did the Sydney consulate directly ask for one from you? I looked through all the checklists and our packet 3 information and do not see a request for a 3kg envelope. The only envelope request we saw was for the medical exam.

Australia and New ZealandPacket 3 - Sydney
We kept calling NVC and once they received the packet from USCIS.... We knew they would assign us a new number. Once they receive it, they gave us the NVC number. Once this happens, set up your police check and medical. We had both scheduled before we received packet 3.... That way once Sydney sent us packet 3.... We could just send it back out the next day. I hope this helps! Good luck!

NatashaMarylandFemaleAustralia2013-10-19 22:25:00
National Visa Center (Dept of State)Does the NVC e-mail the case number?

Hello Everyone,

I received my NOA2 (approved on 10/15/13) in the mail today and thought the NVC number may be on it, however, it just shows my case number from USCIS. When I go to the USCIS website and put in my case number the below comment is noted:

"Post Decision Activity

On October 17, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly"

Does anyone know if this means our packet was received by NVC? Or does this mean (as stated) that is was sent (and to wait for the NVC to contact us)?

I did not receive an e-mail noting that the NOA2 was on the way... so I am concerned that I (or my fiancé) may not receive the packet via e-mail. Have any of you encountered this? Or is this typical? Do they also send a letter?

Meanwhile, my fiancé and I have been working on the packet 3 documents per this website. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any input!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDo I need medical results before sending in packet 3?
My fiancé sent in his packet 3 and had a cover letter expalining that the medical was the following week. Where is your medical? The Sydney office (at least in our experience) sends the medical info straight to the consoluate. Good luck!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-130 form approved.. What's next??

My petition just got approved also. I would say just relax. Your approved petition goes to the National Visa Center and since you are in London the paper work will then go to the US Embassy there. They will contact you through mail on what to do next. You have to do a number of things like medical, police background check, etc before the interview. Your wife will also get contacted with paper work she has to do affidavit of Support and a few bio metric fees has to be paid before your interview. It usually takes a month for things to pick back up after the petition is approved before you will get contacted again.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe truth behind the i130 hold ups at USCIS (what they wont tell you)

I petitioned for my wife and stepson to join me last June 2013. At the current moment the paperwork is still being processed and are still currently on time but I got a letter this January stating that there was in fact a backlog and that in order to speed up the process for me, they were sending it to a local office in Nebraska. Just last night I got a text for a RFE (request for evidence). Not sure what more they can possibly want because I submitted almost everything but I will look into the matter. This by the way is 24 days before I am scheduled to visit my wife again before she is to come and join me whenever that might be??. And as they say "not to worry" and I wont because alot of people had to submit more evidence so that's not really a big concern. My concern is and I may be wrong but a lot of this backlog business has to do with the fact that there are lots of us citizens petitioning for loved ones which is understandable, the government shutdown last year played a role despite the fact they say USCIS was not affected and this new initiative DACA. Because this country has been so divided ordinary soil born US citizens like myself have to go through the bureaucracy. The system that is in place for US citizens is slowly deteriorating as we take on more and more of the burdens of a failed immigration system to begin with. And by the way I am totally not one of those fanatics who are against immigrants when them themselves are a descendant of one because most of us are I know I am one.  My assumption is that if the paper work is legit then something must be wrong. Its been a very teeth grinding experience and the system doesn't make things better.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 may 2013

Its still a little early if you turned in your papers in June then look forward to hearing something around January 2014. I am in the same boat but I turned in papers for my wife in Guyana in July. You have to be patient if you have not heard anything around that time then you can contact immigration. Millions of people are going through the same process as you and its not an easy one. But your day will come! If you use this same website time line it will give you an estimate date of when you hear back about something. Last I look for me it said March/April but its changes a few times February/March. Do the time line of when you mailed off the paper work and when you got the NOA1. Use this time to prepare for the next steps and hang in there.
