It was only 16 days, but this was a blue sheet interview that was rescheduled. I'd guess you are looking at 2-3 months.

Actually $70 isn't bad for a Razr, one usually pays less because they sign up for a plan and the cell provider charges less than the real value of the phone to get your business. That is why they gave it to you for $25, they wanted your contract. Now they have it.

Unlocked Razr's are still going for $125 total cost on ebay.

:ot:

Anyone have T-Mobile? I have a razr (btw piece of ####### phone & waste of money) and it dropped into some water. Now it's completely dead and T-Mobile is telling me I have to pay $70 for my deductible (even thought I pay $6 a month for ins). I'm a little ticked off right now b/c $70 is WAY TOO MUCH for a razr. I bought my phone for $25 back in Nov. Is there anyway to get around this ins policy? I used to be w/Sprint and they had the same type of ins but I knew how to work them so I never paid a dime.

Hey Eric how long did you have to wait when you rescheduled your wife's interview ?

het eric how are you guys managing with the adjustment period?

jlvr....You might consider rescheduling your trip next month to the actually date of interview. It is far better to actually attend the interview. In our case, they asked me most of the questions. Plus, the nerves are so crazy that he really need you at the interview to support him. Just my opinion.......

Shauna-Call me girl......I think the adjustment for many of these men is really hard and they begin to act up . Duane and I had a LONGGGGG talk last night...(considering the fact that we are both stressed about me possibly being pregnant) and he gave me a wonderful view into how he is actually feeling....so let me summarize for everyone so that each of us can learn something (especially for those of you that are in the stages of K-1 still:

So...he said that he came to America with so many expectations of how "foreign" was.....primarily based on what he heard or saw through television....even though I had gone over things a million times with him before he arrived, he says that once he arrived, he finally realized that everything was so different.....poverty to some degree was actually worse in America....our econony requires them to work three times harder than they ever worked back in Jamaica, everything is "on-hold" waiting for our crazy government to push the approved button......as a man, he felt helpless and unable to provide, eveything in the house was "mine" and he did not feel anything was "his home", he was homesick, missed his kids, missed his family, he was starting his life all over in a place where he knows nobody but me and has very little to offer me. This can make any man feel worthless and depressed...they kill their free time by doing studid stuff on the internet, sleeping, eating and basically being depressed while we go on and live our life as usual.....

Sooo....now after 10 months of being in this Country, he has finally started to understand my point of view. Our marriage is the main focus, making money to provide for us as a family and trying to save for all the good things like vacations, "new toys" and having good Christian values. He said that it has taken him months to finally get it....He realizes that the adjustment for both of us has been hard and he has acted extremely selfish at times because he only saw the impact that everything was having on him and NOT me........For the most part, we ALL would be kidding ourselves to think that these men did not see any opportunity in coming to America. There is more opportunity here than in Jamaica but for most of them.....this was not their primary goal or reason for coming...They did fall in love with us and most of these men truly do LOVE us and...they really want it to work out. They just do not know how to make it work in the beginning and it takes an incredibly amount of time, patience and energy......Now. some of you may not have had any of these adjustment problems and I admire you....I KNOW for a fact that Duane loves me to death and we have had some really tough times with this adjustment....this is HARD WORK......

So Miss Shauna.......ONLY YOU know how Mike truly feels about you and maybe you need to step back and really get in touch with those feelings. If you think this can be saved, hang tough......it does get better with time.....Duane has really worked hard to adjust and I would have kicked myself in the butt if I let him leave 4 months ago when I packed his SH.....ITTTT....So...hang in there girl.....

Kim..............EVERYTHING you had said is RIGHT ON THE MONEY, at least in "my/our" experience !!!!! Craig was bee-atching today about not having a job, not having money, not feeling like a man because HE can't help and WAA-LAA a call came in from a temp agency for him to work tomorrow and then another came in to start working at a hotel on Tuesday!!!! Craig does now (finally) help out around the house with dishes, laundry and making the bed.....it's a start.

I know that Craig loves me as well, we are both very much commited to each other. We "get into it" differently now. Those women days are gone and he FINALLY realizes that STUPID S**T will NOT get him anywhere but BACK to Jamaica. He did it ONLY for "the money"....whatever. His priorities have TOTALLY changed, for the better. Our relationship and the relationship he has with my son is SOOO much better.

Craig has been...this month will be 11 months !

Hey Shemonya, have you guys ever been to the Jerk Pit in College Park ?? We went there today....it was AWESOME!!! It's only about 25 min from our place. We met up with one of my clients out that way today and it was right around the corner. Thank god it's not closer, we'd go broke !!!

Shauna..........girl, I'm here for ya. He just needs a good ole butt -whoopin !!!

hey this is a suggestion....have any of who are having some marriagee problems ever thought about letting one man speak to another like maybe the guy who was felling messed up in the beginning with adjusting can speak to the one who is struggling now.

well ladies i think the end has finally come....mike won't change his ways and when we were fighting this morning he asked me if i was going to call immigration to cancel his AOS and i said i thought about it...he said wow i see it clearly i better start acting right so i can get my green card....and i just let him go at that because that is all i needed to hear to basically confirm what i have been thinking for a month....not sure where to go from here or what i am going to do but it really sucks....

JAX best of luck to you!!

dammit i hate reading this kid of post. all we do and then they got the nerve to just be deceiving. does it really die that fast? hang in there girl we praying..

I think Jax was looking into it....anyone have any ideas on where I can go to get the paperwork started. I think I want a Jamaican passport so that I can skip those LONG immigration lines at the airport and buy Jamaican property with my husband in the next few years.....Any ideas?? :help: :help:

wow i was just looking up the same info on yesterday. it was hard to find but i kept trying in google. it seems like all we need is 7000j and marriage cert, birth certs, the worst part is that it takes a year. that was the turn offf for me. but i only found it one place maybe you can do a better search. i looked up citizenship by marriage to a jamaican.

nannygirl- my prayers gp out to you to make the best decision. maybe you should take him on a vacation to see his family then leave him there one way ticket.

Okay TEXASBOUND!!! Finally came up for air!
How are things going?

HELLO FAMILY!!! Wow, it took a minute to catch up on whats been going on here.
1st Nannygirl----Hugs to you, Please pray & communicate.
Sonshyne....no visa yet!!!! I know how you feel truly.
Ricardo....congrats.

OK, me. Well, sweetie made it last week. Got the Employment stamp---mission accomplished. He will start work in 2 weeks w. many options. He got sick the first few days because he was up north in the freakin snow. Of course his family up there (need I mind you extended family who didnt do shi***to get him here in the 1st place) didnt know what to do to take care of him etc. The weather was a true shock to his system. He did enjoy meeting them though. Im sure theres more to it that Im not being told. Anyway, his so called cousin screwed him out of his flight a couple of times ---didnt get him to the airport etc. You know I was pissed off. Nonetheless, he is here now. His first day he was sleeping a lot, not talking much or eating. This is what I call depression!!! I know thanks to many of you that this transition will take time. So Ive been helping him through it. We have gone out to a Caribbean dinner, malls, riding around just etc. he has finally met my family (who love him), he has been totally awesome & accepted by my 4 year old--He even started to teach him how to ride his bike yesterday. I need to just get him acclimated to the surroundings a few times. He loves the weather ---he can wear his shorts again. One day at a time. I hate leaving him to go to work, but he is understanding. I am willing to go home everyday for lunch until he gets his job to keep him on his toes & going. I do feel for him. I just have to remind myself that yes, he did leave everything he knew. It did feel like he resented me. I understand though & in time we will be back up. Im trying to get him comfortable & to be happy being here & remind him that he can still be independent. This a.m. I got a "I love you too" which put a huge smile on my face. Tonight we are going to a NBA game & Im anxious to take him to Home Depot & the Market. We went to a Caribbean grocery store which was worthless---no Betty Milk, no blue mountain coffee, no Horlicks--what a mess. All in all, I am still so happy he is here. I keep reminding myself that its not me & he is not on vacation like I was before. One day at a time, one step at a time. I do feel that if he didn't have an opportunity to work quickly it would be devastating. I couldn't imagine having him wait up to 6 months to work. That would be too damaging. My next step is to have him driving. :)

Asia: East and PacificRobert & Van's Interview.
thank you so much for the great update. it really means alot. good luck with your new family

WE GOT THE PINK

Details:

Van went back to the consulate at 1:00 she was the first 1 called up. She had a young women whom interview her, And she was very polite. The interviewer was very happy that van spoke english. But the interviewer was Very upset with one of the employees there cause they lost van's police report. But finaily they found it. The interview only lasted about 5 Min's.

There were ony 4 questions they ask her:

1. How did you and robert first make contact?
2. show her the first e-mail that we made contact?
3. ask for 5 photos of us. One of the photo that the interviewer noticed was a picture of me in my Home office and saw a 8x10 photo of van on the wall. She really liked that one.
4. Who all Lives in Roberts home in the U.S.?

They never ask Thu "Vans Daughter" any question's.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionJust had interview...good and bad news
hey girl well someimes things happen but u keep ur head up. so was it that you did not have enough income on your own? did you know of this before the interview or did you think you had enough income to do it alone? i stopped working on june 1 06 so my mom is co sponsoring for us. do you reccommend she fill out the affidavit of support before our interview?

had my interview on monday in Kingston JA....and well we were approved pending a co-sponser or wait to file my 06 tax returns...well my parents were VERY nice and offerd to be the co-sponser...
here are my questions....the embassy asked them to file out a 1-864( i know you use it for the AOS but that is what she said and circled on the blue form)
my parents have both just retired from teaching...i know there 05 tax return was very high so they are well over poverty....do they still need to list there assets?? i really don't see why...there pension is over poverty as well...
as far as listing who they are "covering" it is them plus my brother...and my fiance correct??
i think that is it for the questions for today...

hi paul if you look up to the top of this page you will see example forms. there you will find a ds230 already filled out. hope this helps good luck

On the ds-230, when it asks if the applicant has visited the US, it asks for the "A" number if known.
Is that the number from the I-94? Also, when it asks what type of visa was used, Can she just put tourist or do they want " b-2" in there too? thanks in advance!

Thank you for your clarification Zyggy.

ZYGGY I AM A CITIZEN BY NATURALIZATION, MY SON IS 22 BUT HE CAME TO THE US WHEN HE WAS 15, IS HE AUTOMATICALLY A CITIZEN? WHAT IS MY BEST OPTION?

That would depend on what was the age of your son when you naturalized, when you naturalized, and whether he was a Permanent Resident of the US at that time...

I BECAME A CITIZEN BEFORE MY SON CAME HERE AND WHEN HE DID ARRIVE HE WAS 15 AND HE CAME AS A PERMANENT RESIDENT......SO IS HE CONSIDERED AUTOMATIC? WHAT STEPS DOI NEED TO TAKE NOW THAT HE IS 22?

CanadaIn a tough Situation

I live and work in Washington State, and the "At Will" law does exist. I just started a job a few weeks ago, and my "Employment Agreement" clearly states that:

"An employee may voluntarily leave employment and may be terminated at any time, for any reason, with or without notice".

my husband and I are about 90% sure it was because of how much he was making - but yeah he came into work and they told him he no longer worked there and escorted him out.

I think that's a good call on Zyggy's part. Just because you're an "at will" employee, one would think you should still be allowed the benefit of knowing why you were terminated. An employer may have the right to dismiss you for any reason but it seems as though the employee should have the right to know why , no matter how ridiculous the reason. The clause stating " with or without notice", in my opinion, doesn't mean without explanation.

like I said in my above post, he came into work on Monday, had a brief meeting and was escorted out. No reasons, infact his boss was more surprised then he was (the "letting-go" I guess was a choice made by people higher up). We were even suppose to have a party THAT friday with his work to celebrate our wedding.

zackly. I'd look into that, they should give you a reason. Don't they have to put a reason on the termination papers?

Do you put " gee I dunno " on the line where it asks " reason for leaving " on your next job application or when you apply for unemployment benefits. In Michigan anyway, you cant collect unemployment if you have been terminated for a reason of your doing and you can't collect if you quit for no good reason either.........so not having a reason would be difficult.

they told him to put "at-will" on his unemployment papers and they were approved.

JUST SIT BACK AND THINK ABOUT THE BIG PICTURE. IM SURE LIKE ANOTHER OF 1 OF THE POSTS SAID HE CAN GET ANOTHER JOB

Dear Friends,
We received our NOA2!!! Our petition was approved on September 19,2006! I am very happy!

Now CSC will forward our case to NVC, but how will we know when NVC receive our case? Another thing I wonder is, how will we know when NVC sends our case to the Embassy?

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAge Difference Relationships
IT WOULD BE VERY UNFAIR TO BE DENIED BECAUSE OF AGE. IF THATS THE CASE THEN ONE SHOULDNT BE ABLE TO BE MARRIED BECAUSE OF THE SAME AGE.

I was wondering if there were other members here who have gone through the K-1 process and have a significant age gap between one another. There are 27 years between my fiance and I and I'm afraid we may be treated differently/unfairly because of it (already experienced discrimination of sorts at the border with US Customs because of our age difference).
