I don't know what results you're looking for, but I would say that if someone chooses Option #5 or #6, to give the name of the city or town. Also, if someone is not in AP & does not have visa in hand, you might want them to clarify what stage of the process they are in. The best thing about Bojangles is their breakfast -- Boberry biscuits in the mornings.... *drool* The best tea is a little place up the street called Mayo Drive-In... not mayonnaise, that would be Mayo, SC.... They also make peanut butter and banana milkshakes to die for ! I will be coming home soon... I would say in about 2-3 weeks. Mina is in the midst of getting his army permission to travel & an international driver's license. We will probably purchase the tickets one day next week & I will post a ticker !! I'm indoors almost all of the time. But, the power went out the other evening for about 3-4 hours and we did a little sizzling in here. We just got back from Alex, and I love the cool breeze there, but I hate the sticky humidity from the sea. I prefer the dry heat in Cairo. Oh well, I'm rambling. Middle East and North Africa	WHO PAYS FOR ALL THE PLANE TICKETS	I don't know how well my experience helps here, but here is how our finances are taken care of: I paid for my first flight here in November. Since then, I haven't spent a penny. Not even on gifts for my friends and my family. I still have the same currency I stepped off of the plane with. He and his family have paid every filing fee for immigration, my doctor visits, dental visits (I had my braces removed here - as well as cleanings and all 4 wisdom teeth pulled), food, new clothes, housing, vacations (to Alexandria and North Coast), small trips (theme parks, museums, visiting pyramids) , and everything else in between. My husband will not take any money from me. He won't ask me for money. He won't even discuss it. I think it is part of Egyptian culture. Even though he is not a Muslim, he was raised in a Muslim country, and I think that is where the ideas come from. Or I could just say he is a gentleman. That about covers it. I am sorry for all of the bad experiences of the OP. I don't think that paying for someone is necessarily a bad thing because you do it out of love. Middle East and North Africa	Another Flight ?? Question	Maybe I was just irresponsible, but I bought one way tickets to Mexico & to Egypt and stayed in both places with no problems. I did the stupidest things which were buy a one way ticket, come with virtually no money, and I promised to stick it out until the visa came... dumb, dumb, and kind of blind ignorance... I think if you and your son want to join your husband, there is a lot of great things to be learned in his country ! But, speaking from personal experience, I would keep a return ticket, the money to get back if you needed it, money for emergencies, and a backup plan between you and your husband that wouldn't make him feel like you'd be bailing on him by leaving.... although, my feelings are based on the Egyptian embassy, which seems to be just about the slowest MENA country, maybe your stay would only be 5 or 6 months at the most.... Middle East and North Africa	TUESDAY'S THREAD	Greetings from SC !!!! I haven't been checking in much lately because we were so busy ! But, we arrived safe & sound. Mina is enjoying the cool air and the sunshine. He loves the weather & the food. I will post a couple of pics here. Randomly, does anyone know what happens next ? We went to apply for his ss card, but they said he had to be in the country 10 days before he could apply. I got him a driver's manual to study for his license. What else do we need to do ? I will check the USCIS page today and work on our resumes.... Hope you all have a great Tuesday !
