-------
jo&john's journey

03/10/04: Met John at Yahoo! Messenger; start of a good relationship
03/30/04: I became his girlfriend
05/26/04: John excited for his trip to the Philippines to see me and set the direction
05/27/04: John on board Delta Airlines from DFW (Texas) to San Francisco
05/28/04: John on board China Airlines from San Francisco to Taipei
05/29/04: John on board China Airlines from Taipei to Manila; I met him at the
NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport); the rest IS magic! We became
more in love!
05/30/04: We got engaged! The remaining 3 days were full of good memories and still
crystal clear for me
06/03/04: John left for Taipei on board China Airlines; reached LA then DFW same
day; I miss my honey; we both wait for the approval of my annulment
petition (series of court hearings and procedures; constant follow-up to
expedite the process; delays because of holidays, official leaves of
court personnel, etc; judge is meticulous, no short-cuts) ; John had been
very supportive and is still.
03/23/06: Regional Court Decision out: Declaring absolute nullity of my marriage.
We were very happy! The long wait was over! Actually, the decision/resolution
made was dated February 23, 2006. It took a month for editing, finalization,
etc by the court stenographers, clerk of court, etc.
Upon receipt of the Decision, I flew to Manila (I’m from Iloilo City) and
personally hand-carried the Decision to the Solicitor-General (was
praying Sol-Gen won’t object to the decision; RTC’s give 15 days for
Sol-Gen to appeal)
04/07/06: No appeal from Solicitor-General. RTC recorded the decision in the Book of
Entries of Judgment (as final and executory). Entry of Judgment signed by
the Clerk of Court. This was then forwarded to Local Civil Registrar.
Annotation was done to my Marriage Certificate. Submitted the Annotated
(with Annulment Remarks) Marriage Certificate to NSO (National Statistics Office)
for authentication and on SECPA (Security Paper). I got my SECPA annotated
marriage certificate after 3 weeks.
04/10-16: Holy Week; no office
04/17/06: Submitted requirements to RTC for issuance of Annulment Decree
04/18/06: Got my Decree of Declaration of Nullity of Marriage (annulment process
took 1 year and 10 months from filing of petition to getting the decree)
Sent remaining pertinent documents to John needed for the K1 petition.
Both of us were elated!
04/22/06: John sent I-129F to Texas Service Center
04/25/06: I-129F received at California Service Center (Fr. TSC); NOA1 (Received Date)
05/01/06: NOA1 (Notice Date)
06/23/06: email notification re: IMBRA RFE sent from CSC06/30/06: John received IMBRA RFE (snail mail)
07/05/06: John sent IMBRA RFE reply to CSC
07/17/06: email notification from USCIS re: receipt of IMBRA RFE reply

Asia: East and Pacificabortions in teh Philippines

I find it hard to believe no one in the Philippines ever had an abortion.

Are u from Philippines? IF YES then you should have seen it all over and over again thru the TV news that there are abortions done over here although it is illegal.

phildream,

Statistical reports show that among DOH-retained hospitals, abortion & its complications has been consistently the number 3 leading cause of discharge during the 5 year period of 1994-1998.

A University of the Philippines Population Institute study conducted in 1994 showed that 300,000 to 500,000 induced abortions are done clandestinely a year given that abortion is illegal in the country. This roughly translates to some 46 induce abortions, done every hour in the country.

Of the women who have induced abortions, one in ever 5 women ends up being hospitalized due to complications. Women who have spontaneous abortions can also develop complications and end up up being hospitalized. The problem of abortion & its complications exacts a heavy toll on the general health & well-being of the woman, her family and the society as a whole.

FYI :star: ,

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Phone numbers?

I have read that receipt numbers don't work in the system? Or do they? And what is the best number to reach this folks at? Does emailing them work?

Thanks!

the automated system doesnt seem to be updated, so you should speak to an operator when calling (press 1 for english, then 5 for operator, dont need to wait for the prompts). I cant remember the phone number but its posted on the boards somewhere. Emailing them works but they arent very quick to respond.. it took them 5 days to respond to mine.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC doesn't have our approved petition yet
We have been keeping our hopes high for an early expedition of our case because of my daughter's age-ing out (21 this january 2007). We sent an email to NVC relative to this last September 6 after we received our physical NOA2 (Sept. 5; email NOA2 approval decision was sent to us August 31 telling us that our case has been approved August 30). We were hoping that they could assign a case number immediately then facilitate it's expedition at the U.S. Embassy in Manila.

However, we received an odd email from NVC...what is happening????...is our case lost in the mail????

We have seen posts of VJ members whose NOA2's were immediately received by NVC from USCIS...we intend to call USCIS but we want to know from VJ members their ideas on this delay...Your advises on this matter will be deeply appreciated....especially on the next steps that we need to do at this point.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)emailing NVC instead of calling

I was told to wait two weeks after my approval before contacting NVC. We held out for 11 days and then called and found out our petition was being sent to Montreal that day. It usually takes a bit for petitions to get to NVC, it isn't an instant thing.

Best wishes for all those waiting :)

Yeah... the only problem is that it really seems CSC has stopped sending cases to NVC for awhile. It was going kinda fast in August... but September it turning out to be a very slow month.

Indeed slow...we got approved 8/30/06...it is now 3 weeks and 3 days and not a word from NVC yet...i pray they start rolling giving interview dates on Monday... (F)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Good news or BS?

Just got off the phone with the NVC operator. She was in a very good mood today and open. While our case has not been entered into the system yet, I asked further. She said they (NVC had just received a huge transfer from the California Service Center today (Monday), and were working on assigning case numbers and entering them into their computer system today. She said to call back tomorow and check, not the standard wait 2-4 weeks.
Lets all hope for the best on this news.

I think it's true - lvasquez was approved on August 31 and got his hard copy from the NVC on September 22. Fingers crossed for all of us!

We were approved August 30...but no word yet from NVC...it has been 27 days since we were approved...praying that NVC will assign a case number this week...Good luck to all and Godspeed!

Congratulations!!

I thought they usually send you a regular mail... did you inquire by email?

Congratz!

I just was looking at the K1 forum and somebody said they were approved on 9/21 and their petition was rec'd on 9/25 and alreay sent to the embassy...

Are you f'ing kidding me? My file was approved on 9/7 and they STILL do not have it. #######!

Yeah, I hear ya. I got the NOA2 on 9/8 but nothing yet... I really wish they have a method for this madness.

Thanks everyone!

We are not so sure of their system (at NVC)...or is there?...they even didn't inform John (the petitioner) of our approved case sent to the consulate...
it was me (beneficiary) who reiterated through email of John's previous email update and expedition (my daughter age-ing out) request...
i got the response from them but they didn't bothered to cc John...i am not sure if they will send him through snail mail or whatever...
i am also confused with the way they handle our cases...others learned by phone, others by email, others by mail...
we even don't know the date NVC received our case from USCIS and when NVC sent it to the Consulate...
all we know that based on the email inquiry i sent (Sept. 24), they emailed back (Sept. 26), that our case has been recently forwarded to the embassy....and when was that recently...nobody knows...I think there is chaos in there...
Last friday (Sept. 22) when John inquired by phone again, NVC said, they don't have our case yet...so, we really don't know...did they receive it on the 23rd and immediately acted on it????....maybe, or was it just lying there all week/more than a week and no one bothered to take a look?...but because i sent an email on Sept. 24 (there is another personal urgency, aside from the age-ing out of daughter, which i need to bring up with them), i had their response after 2 days assigning me a case number, etc...talking about accountability here...

Thus, for those of you waiting.... flood NVC with your inquiries, etc...

God bless everyone...praying for positive responses this week...

hello To all you guys. can you give the exact link of NVC so I can send email to know about our status. Thanks......

When you email NVC, you should write down the case number on the subject line. And you should mention the names and dates of birth of the petitioner and the beneficiary.

who will be the one to send email, the petitioner or beneficiary? is it ok any of the two?

I think either of the two of u can send the email? I'm the petitioner and I'm going to be sending the email to the NVS tomorrow.

I guess, it is better for the petitioner to email NVC, if hs/she is the designated choice of agent.

Hi,

My fiance John (petitioner) emailed NVC twice inquiring for update of status... I (beneficiary) made follow-up emails...NVC responded to mine...John didn't receive a reply from them...

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Not at NVC yet...

I kept doing the automation answering service but I didn't know they did do that for K-1. I just emailed them yesterday and today they answered with the good news. It was already forwarded to the US Embassy in Japan.

I would suggest emailing them. I might give them enough time to throughly look it up and answer.

That's good news!

P.S. The automated system doesn't work for K-1s.

yes...emailing made them look at our petition...ours already sent to the embassy... (F)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)worry

It took 21 days for my case to reach the NVC after approval. CSC has been very slowly sending out approvals to NVC and/or NVC has been very slow to put them in their system and forward to the consulate. Your best bet is to send NVC an email requesting status (I think it's more up to date than the operators since they don't put the K1s in the system fast) and give it 4 full weeks.

it took them 26 days to inform us (after we sent them inquiry emails) that they have assigned us a case number and sent the petition to the Embassy in Manila... (F)
