From what I've read, the USCIS person you talked to is correct. You have to be a USC to apply for a K1. Correct me if I'm wrong, you guys.

I agree Ms. Mew!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)**ANY WORKDAY 0700AM**

sorry for my misunderstanding...can you explain aging-out...and can anyone get the "any workday 7 am " interview in manila?

thank you

Hi rcars3,
My daughter is age-ing out...meaning she will be turning 21 (she will be 21 in less than 3 months from now) and that would make her ineligible as K-2 (K-1 derivative) if she reaches 21 and she has not been interviewed yet. We requested through emails (NVC & US Embassy Manila) and through mail (John sent a letter to USCIS) of her status. The lady from the US Embassy, according to John, told him that they give the "any workday" appointment for those with children age-ing out. We have read that one has to "alarm" those processing if a child is age-ing out within 6 months. We were hoping that they will give us an early appointment but it is really advantageous for those with kids age-ing out because they give an "any workday" appointment schedule. Really, we were ecstatic about the interview schedule given to us because we can go there anytime as long as our documents are complete. I don't know what other categories are entitled for this kind of schedule. My 2 kids and I will be flying to Manila next Sunday (Oct. 15). We will have our medicals on the 16th. If all is well, we will go for the interview on the 17th or 18th. Then the CFO seminar.

Thanks for all your birthday greetings, your warm wishes and prayers. May God be with you all.

Let us all pray for each other....for all of us here at Visa Journey.

God bless,

Our frequent queries, calls and requests paid off...and I would like to thank the Visa Journey Members ellmoi and uling for sharing with us the best time to call the Embassy...

Before I flew to Manila last thursday evening, I emailed John to call the embassy (best time between 7:30-8:00AM, Philippine time) to inquire about our status and remind them of our request for expedition. Indeed he called them this morning. I was attending a convention when John called me around 8:30 this morning and told me that he talked to a lady and inquired about our case (about my daughter age-ing out and another urgent case). He said the lady told him to wait. After a minute, the lady came back to the phone and told him to ask his fiancee to go to St. Luke's Medical to get our appointment schedule. The lady then told him that for age-ing out, the applicant can go at the embassy for visa interview any work day. My fiance John has to ask the lady 4 times to make sure he heard her right. She answered yes four times. Then John called me and gave me the good news. I wanted to be sure before going there, so I called up St. Luke's and I was able to talk to a very accomodating lady (Maui is her name). I gave her my name. She said that my packet with appointment schedule is already there and I can get it. I asked her if I can get it at lunchtime because I am still at the convention. She said that it is ok because they are open even at lunchtime. Good that our convention was at Westin Philippine Plaza, just a 15 minutes cab ride to St Luke's. The guard near the entrance gave me a number and told me to go to window F (when I told him that I will pick up my packet). John heard the lady right! Our visa appointment read: **ANY WORKDAY 0700AM**.

This is a very wonderful birthday gift for me...my birthday is on Monday, October 9. I want to thank all of you who had been praying for John and me and my kids. Thank you Lord. You are so good. Good luck and Godspeed to all those waiting for their appointment schedules..may they be expedited. May we all get our visa approvals soon and be with our loved ones.

My fiancee had her K1 visa interview on Monday in Tokyo and everything went smoothly. They sent her the visa in the mail and it arrived today.

We are both so excited to get this process over with and are looking forward to taking a break from immigration stuff until we need to apply for the Green Card.

Thanks again!

Congratulations! We are very happy for you. Best of Luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFYI: Check Passport Validity Dates Prior to Visa Issue

No thanks to CSC delays, we lost track of my Fiance's passport validity dates.

As the Consular Section was preparing to "place" the visa, they discovered that she was 1 week short of the 6 month minimum validity requirement.

Not a major delay, 5 days worst case... Although I thought I would see her Friday. :(

With the flurry of activity surrounding the K-1 or K-3 process, it is an easy item to overlook.

The Advice: Plan for success and keep track of passport expiration dates!!

Lessons learned and thanks for sharing...your experience surely would remind everyone to take a look at their passports... All the best for you...it's just a little delay and you will be together soon. God bless!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNo Pay Stubs
HI,

John's pay checks are direct deposited so he doesn't have regular pay stubs. What he sent me is a copy (Paycheck) of his net pay (every 15 days) from July 2005-August 2006...then every detail of his individual paycheck (general data/tax data/paycheck summary/earnings/taxes/before&after tax deductions/company paid benefits)... 1 page per paycheck... would this suffice in lieu of the pay stubs? and one more thing, the copies he sent me are downloaded from the company's file (View Paycheck)..electronic paycheck...would this be ok or is there a need for these copies to be certified by the company's cashier or finance officer or whoever is in charge?

He already sent me the original signed letter from his employer and the notarized I-134 Affidavit of Support.

He also sent me copies of his ITR (1040) from 2003-2005 and copies of his W-2 from 2003-2005...all downloaded from IRS e-file...also copies of bank accounts summary, assets, etc on e-file...fax letter from Bank (do I need the original?) affirming that he maintains an account with them

and all others:copy of the entire I-129F submitted...originals of the documentary proof submitted for the I129F...original letter of affirming intent to marry...copy of the NOA2

I already have...birth certificates (his, mine and kids)...police certificates (NBI clearance for me and 20 year old daughter)...passports...his original divorce decree...my original annulment decree

Need to be done if interview is near:
1. Photos of me and 2 daughters (20 year old and 9 year old)
2. Medical Exam at St. Luke's Medical Center Extension for 3
3. CFO Seminar for me and 20 year old daughter
4. Fill up DS 156, 156K and 157 for 3

Do I have the right documents? What else are missing... I would appreciate very much your comments and suggestions...please :)

Thanks! :D

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEarly Visa Interview Appointment

i dont think sending them an email is the best way to inquire since as ive read in their site http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3216.html

The Immigrant Visa Unit fax number is (632) 338-4129 and its
email address is Consivmanila@state.gov.

Due to the large volume of messages received,
it may take four to six weeks to reply to your inquiry.

i think it takes too long. although its not a bad idea to email them. but first option i think is call them or send some fax... i hope you'll have an early interview though in the end... wish u luck

thanks ronmay...i also wanted to fax them...but where will i download the form?

it says here in this link: http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3227.html

How To File An Early Appointment Request: Those requesting an early appointment may use the Immigrant and Fiance(e) Visa Request for Early Appointment Form (click here to download). The form, along with the supporting documents, may be sent to the Immigrant Visa Unit by fax at (011)(63)(2) 338-4129.

However, the (click here to download) cannot be accessed....is there any website that i can download the form?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEarly Visa Interview Appointment

Did you write AGE-OUT on the top of your petition.. If not, then yes, an email to the consulate would be appropriate.

However, you should be aware that there have been some problems with those K2's that have entered before they turned 21 from subseqenntly adjusting their status to a permanent resident. Read Girona40's story to get more info. Expect a rocky road if you can't get everything done before the alien child turns 21...

Thanks zyggy :D ...now ready to send the email to the embassy...then Girona40's story...

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa Delivery by DELIBROS from Manila Embassy

Those of you who had interviews and approvals of your K-3 or K-1 visas from the Manila Embassy, how many days after your interview did it take you to receive you visa from DELIBROS?

Also, where was you delivery address (Town or Provence?)

Rob and Melinda

Hi Rob and Melinda,

I saw both of you at the embassy...we had the same interview date...you were interviewed ahead of us. I was with my 2 kids (we are on K1/K2). I pray Delbros will deliver our visas next week. Delbros representative at the Embassy told me that upon release of the Embassy of our visas, Delbros will deliver the visas the following day if you have them delivered within Metro Manila. We are still here in Manila waiting for our passports and visas; and when delivered, will go to the CFO for seminars, stickers and registration.

Delbros will text us if the embassy has released our visa. My friend who had an appointment schedule of 6:30am also on the same date we had our interview, received a text message from Delbros at 3pm Friday(October 20) that the embassy had released her visa.

God bless,
