hello! i'm new here...i would like to ask for some advice...i received letter from embassy last oct 23 that i'm eligible to be scheduled for visa interview...but i havent called yet for appointment coz my fiance has not prepared the 1-134 & ITR yet...will that be ok? i dont want to call when i dont have this documents yet...hope somebody can help me...thanks!

well you can schedule your visa interview ahead of time. Like my case, I scheduled it when my fiance didn't have his affidavit of support. We scheduled it 4 weeks ahead. No problem if you still don't have those smile.gif those are not hard to get because their papers are all online. He can easily get those online.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionvisa approved! things that i experienced during my interview.
I'm done with my interview today and it's approved! finally! i felt like I'm gonna have a heart attack waiting for my number to be called! I was there at 6am my schedule is at 7am and I finished at 10:30am. It was very fast, i must say. Now, I'm just waiting for it to be delivered...

Here are the things that I experienced.

present your appointment letter and ID to the guard at the gate, then go to gate 2 turn right.

make sure there's no errors in your ds forms, make sure you signed the ds 156 where it says.. "i intend to marry(name of your fiance)" then your signature below. Don't sign the one below that. Also there's one in ds 156k.

always look at the screen for your number to be called.

then they will call you either window 37 or 33 for finger scanning. (listen carefully coz their mics are crappy!)

at the pre-screening, give your nbi, birth certificate, cenomar (all should be nso authenticated), affidavit of support, some evidences (i got like tons but they only ask me 10 pictures and some chat and email logs).

pre-screening questions:
who is your petitioner?
when did you first meet? exact date
how and where did you first meet in person?
when was the last time you saw him?

then she said "ok wait for your number to be called again for your final interview"

Waiting for my final interview really made me nervous.. then after like 20mins my number is called again.

final interview questions:
who is your petitioner?
how old is he?
how, when and where did you meet?
whats his job?
has he been married before? how many times?
does he have any children?
where does the child stay?
how often did he visit you?
do you know his parents?
have you met his parents?
has he met your parents?
does he have any brothers/sisters?
how many times hes been divorced?
was he divorced when you met him?
do you know his previous job?
was he in the army before?
so last week was your birthday... did he send you any gifts?
do you mind if i take a look at your pictures?

then he signed something and stamped on my papers and said "ok mam your visa is approved, good luck"

I couldn't believe it smile.gif

Congratulations!!! God bless us all! good.gif .I really think I got lucky not having to undergo that DV although I paid them. I'm a January Filer and got delayed for 2 months because our papers were stuck between CIS and NVC. I'll be leaving tomorrow, finally, and my interview was on Oct 29... I know how stressful this waiting can be... but lets be all strong and help each other here in VISAJOURNEY. Good luck!

US Citizenship General Discussiongot N400 interview date but no Biometrics yet?

US Citizenship General Discussiongot N400 interview date but no Biometrics yet?
Hello,

I am a little bit confused with the process. I submitted my N400 Dec 8, 2011 and I got NOA Dec 12, 2011 saying they have received my application.

12/8/11- submitted N400
12/12/11- NOA stating they received my application
01/13/12- another NOA for my interview date which will be on 02/21/2012.

I did not have any letters for my biometrics yet? Is this going to be a problem? I am applying naturalization through marriage to a US citizen.

I got my Green card (unconditional) in 2011. Is this the reason why I did not get a letter for my biometrics? I saw on my letter here it says on the bottom "USCIS has a free booklet to help you study for the naturalization test. Ask about them when you go to have your fingerprints taken at the Application Support Center.

Can I just go to the office and get the booklet? Or call the USCIS?

Thank you!

I'm a little confused here.. They said you need to pay delbros for document verification. What documents do they verify? How does it work? I only have a MNL case number and called US Embassy Manila today to supposedly schedule my interview but they told me they haven't received our papers yet so they cant schedule my interview.

So my question is... Can i pay delbros for document verification now? they said.. the earlier the better to avoid delays in visa processing but since there is no papers yet at the embassy what documents they will verify?

I hope i'm getting this right as im really confused as of the moment. smile.gif Thank you guys!

-also when you pay delbros at Metrobank... Will they tell you the delbros account number? where to get it?-

Hello.
just wait for the appointment Letter(date for the interview and medical). Document verifications its takes a months to wait. Pag may schedule ka na pwede ka ng magbayad sa Metrobank. Goodluck

oh i see so i'll just need to wait for the appointment letter from the embassy here? cool... Thank you so much.. We've been waiting for this for a very long time. We are January filers and we are just getting to this point. I feel like I wanna cry that its finally happening little by little.

what about paying delbros at metrobank? do i just go there and tell them i need to pay delbros and they know it already? thank you so so much!

Philippinescfo question
i just don't understand the logic of people who are not giving any stamps or whatever they stamp on somebody else's passport just because they think.. everything happened so fast and yet she already has a visa? wow... surprising. Philippinescfo question
my friend has already booked a flight on monday and her flight time is at 8am going to USA. The problem is, she still doesn't have a CFO stamp. Is there any CFO stamp available at the airport? Or there is no way to get it but to go and attend the seminar?

Thank you!

Philippineswhat questions do they ask at POE?
hello everyone! I just want to say thank you for answering all of my past questions here and I must say that this website really helps us a lot!

I have another question again whistling.gif My visa will be here anytime next week... after Halloween. (I hope). All i need to do is attend the CFO seminar and book a flight. Should i just book a one-way flight? and at the POE what kind of questions do they ask? Do they ask how long I intend to stay? Can I say 90 days? coz thats the allotted time i can stay using a fiance visa or say permanently since I will be married to my fiance?

Thanks!

just wanna share my happiness to everyone here in visajourney! I'm already with my fiance here in Fremont, CA. I arrived yesterday via PAL Nov 6, 08 6:30PM PST. Ohh It was a very long flight i must say! But its all worth it coz as soon as i came out of arrival lobby, I saw my fiance waiting patiently!

AT the POE, the officer (filipino dude) ask me: Who is your petitioner? Where are you gonna stay? What is the purpose of your stay? How/When did you meet? When are you gonna get married? (that's all and he said good luck after taking my fingerprints)

Now, we are just gonna get married and apply for AOS, EAD and AP, then it's all set. I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This website is really helpful to us! I just hope everyones waiting here to get all their VISA'S and be with your LOVED ONES SOON! Take care!

I think you have only waited for few days and I think before the week ends or probably next week you will have your visa (God Willing)...
Just pray for it, most of the applicants who were interviewed this November did not encounter any delays so BE POSITIVE and keep praying for it. Keep us posted...

I had my seminar at Prism and everything went smoothly. But I also think it's a waste of time. For one thing, why give the seminar after the visa was issued or after the marriage with a foreigner? Isn't that too late already? I think that CFO certification is nothing but another way of milking people some money.

you got it right! Same thing my fiance's been telling me.. but we cant do nothing but to OBEY their rules. It's our corrupt government's agenda. They are not even connected to the US EMBASSY! (i think, coz if they were.. US EMBASSY should have told us that we cant get a VISA without a CFO seminar first!)

Just wanna share my experience about my CFO seminar today 11/03/08.

My visa packet arrived today at noon delivered by delbros. As soon as I got it, I hurried my ### to go to Taft Avenue to do the CFO seminar. I got there between 3:30-4:00PM. (in front of DLSU BDO bldg.)

1. I paid P250 for registration and gave me papers
2. lady at the registration told me to go to room S3 to watch the documentary about Filipina girls being abused by their foreign husband. I sat there for like 10mins and It's all done! (i guess didn't see the entire video). So I asked the nice lady there... what to do after this? she said "ohh are you goin to USA?" i said.. "yes mam" she said.. "ok go to ____ " I forgot the room number. There, she told us where to go if being abused, what numbers to call, what to do after your marriage and what papers we need to apply for the green card.... just basic info.

Then, she told us...."we can't release your certificate today because our computer crashed coz of the virus. It crashed last friday so they are just working on it now and it will done on THURSDAY!" (mind you THURSDAY! just for a single certificate which doesn't even have a code!) "and if you are thinking to go to other counseling site, it wont work coz they'll see that you are registed here" (what a dictatorship!)

3. One-on-one interview... ask me how we met, how long we been together, how often hes been here.. etc etc... just all about my fiance. She took my divorce paper copy and told me to photocopy one picture. Then she asked me a very weird question.... "What is your fiance's middle name?" so i said... "Rowling, thats his middle name" then she said.. "no what is your fiance's moms maiden name?" I was like "huh? they dont carry it, the name that i gave you is just a name not a last name of her mom" Well its a good thing I know his moms maiden name coz we do genealogy... I didn't argue with her.. so i told her.

4. Then after the interview, she signed the receipt for the release of my certificate on thursday 1:30PM. (I really should hope this time they have it all ready coz I just paid $150 for rebooking and cancellation fee!)

I know I'm not supposed to book yet.. but my fiance didn't know that this seminar is MANDATORY. He said its a complete DICTATORSHIP, what kind of country wont allow their citizen WITH VISA to not live WITHOUT this seminar?

Tell me what you think about the CFO seminar. Thank you. Good luck to all of us! smile.gif

Hi Melissa/Martin! What a dictator indeed that lady at the CFO seminar where you went to. I also went to that place in front of the De La Salle University in 2007. And that woman whom I had one on one interview also asked about my mother in-law's maiden name. I gave her my husband's middle name. But she said it was his first name. So I had to call my husband in the middle of the night just to ask him what is his mom's maiden name. Crazy huh! But it's either that or I don't get a CFO certificate.

CFO is a waste of money and a waste of time. They give loads of misinformation. I guess you just do what you have to do and let what they say go in one ear and out the other.

thank you for agreeing with me! I thought I'm alone on this matter! Yea.. my fiance also thought that it's a waste of time.. I mean.. yea counseling is good. It is a very good thing to offer to teach our people but it should not be MANDATORY! like its a matter of THEM versus YOU and you CANT LIVE the country WITHOUT their permission. Isn't having a VISA enough to live the country?

I believe CFO SEMINAR has a good intention.. I agree with some of VJ'ers that it's needed.. but like I said.. shouldn't be MANDATORY.

Thank you. Good luck to all of us! smile.gif

PhilippinesTo All Pinays
you don't want to do that... in the US the law is that you can't get birth control pills unless its prescribed to you. If they caught you, there might be some consequences because obviously you are getting birth control pills from the Philippines when they have birth control pills here. You are ignoring their law here if thats the case. I wouldnt want to continue that if i were you.

PhilippinesDone with the AOS interview! but problem with passport
Thanks for the info.. I guess i have to go there again and get a new passport instead of ammending it. Will need to wait for state ID so i will have ID just in case I don't have a passport for 6 weeks.

PhilippinesDone with the AOS interview! but problem with passport
Thank god it's all done and we're approved! yay! The interviewer was so nice and she is a Pinay. She just asked us typical questions a couple should know. Like date of marriage, how we met, where we stayed, if he met my parents etc.. etc.. It went smoothly as if we were just having a normal conversation.

The interview was in San Francisco 02/17. It was raining so hard and we couldn't find a place to park along the road. Oh well... just happy that it's all done. I also got my EAD card that same day but I don't think it matters now.

Then, we went to Phil consulate since its just near from the Immigration office to ammend my passport (change it to my married name). So, went there but they are telling me to go back the next day which is impossible because my husband has to work. My husband and I are planning to go to the Philippines sometime in May.

Do you think it will have a conflict or problems if my green card name is on my married name and my passport is on my single name? Should i just bring my marriage certificate? because if i would have a problem... I will just wait for my green card to arrive then apply a state ID and driver's license then send off my passport to the Phil Consulate in San Francisco... it says on the website you can send it (not really sure though).

I could use some advice here. Thank you so much!

PhilippinesCFO
I have the same problem dealing with evil CFO supposed-to-be-seminar. I just gave them everything I gave US embassy all the papers and stuff coz i thought i didn't need anymore hassle in my life. We spent too much problem dealing with NVC and CIS already.

went there monday and my flight was tuesday and was told that their computer is down and wont be up til thursday. See how third world is that? to think that it isn't even rocket science to fix a computer and printer that prints the certification that I attended them so called "seminar" and one more thing.. how can a "seminar" be mandatory anyway?!? it's like a matter of you boarding out of the country or not. They don't respect the decision of US EMBASSY, CIS and NVC. Clearly, when you have a visa it means you already passed their through background check.. i just don't understand ####### it is a mandatory class?

Oh well.. all is done and I'm with my husband and living our lives happily and forgetting all the horror stories dealing with people from the government.

PhilippinesDo you find this irritating?
Maybe its just me but it really really turns me off when they ask me. Sometimes i don't know how to reply. Usually if its ym I just stop answering but if its in person... really caught me off guard. I don't want to be rude but sometimes when i'm not in the mood i really shove them off and act so mean. I guess I'm too serious ohmy.gif My husband doesn't like it too and said it gives some Filipina a bad name. Like what would their intention be? If its for money or love... we wouldn't really know right? I just don't want to take the risk and be blamed afterwards. One wrong move by a Filipina could easily be judged by the entire world. Sad but it is true. Not all people are open-minded.

PhilippinesDo you find this irritating?
hello again to my fellow visajourney goers! Hope you are all ok and happy with your loved ones! I know it's hard to be separated but I hope for those who are still waiting for their visas, you'll get it soon! Just always be positive smile.gif

Anyways, I just one question and need your opinion about this. Do you guys find it so irritating (or seems not right) when your fellow Pinays ask you this "uy hanap mo naman ako ng papa dyan... or sino ang irereto mo sa akin dyan?" -translation- (hey, could you find me a lover there? or do you have somebody who you can introduce me to?" It really turns me off when my friends,so-called friends or even just somebody i worked with at the office ask me those. It seems for me that they only want a ticket to go to the USA. Sounds like it for me... but this is just my opinion. I might be getting paranoid too from not having enough sleep. lol No pms yet! Can't help but to think.. can't you find your own man? headbonk.gif

Just want to know your opinion about this kind of attitude.
