PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

You told the world that you and Gretchen were going to "wait" until you were married, so this must be an immaculate conception! It's a miracle!!! :innocent:

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

25 years between me and my girl. Pretty much average for the girls who are marrying foreigners in her village. My best asset is I look 28 to 33. She is 20 but looks 12, (even to some of the local Filipinos) We love each other very much and are glad to finally be together. The pastor who is marrying us has no problem with us. As well as my kids, friends and family. My kids love her, have taken to her. With my youngest son sometimes wanting her to tuck him into bed. Age is only a measure of time in life. Age is not a measure of maturity. According to statistics: 25% of people in the world marry with large age gaps. This means out of 7 billion, there are 1.75 billion in large age gap romances. As for me, I WAS looking for a younger girl. Someone to have more children with. I feel like I have lost out through my previous marriage of having children at the "right" age. If I married a girl "age appropriate" for me, I would most likely not be having anymore children or she would be in a very high risk category. I choose a younger girl, and was looking for a girl beautiful inside and out. Not just a "trophy wife", but a girl who loved. I avoided Asia and the Philippines for a long long time. but eventually, I gave in. We refer to ourselves as "Christmas presents" to each other. Last year, we met at Christmas. This year, we marry around Christmas. And next year, well, have a 5 month old child aat Christmas.

I think ya need to do more research... Congrats on the baby next year

My fiance did not give me the USD amount, she gave me it in pesos and it did not come to exactly 10k I rounded the numbers.

would this thread have lasted 50+ posts if it was known the 10,000 pisos was for hospital bills due to motorcycle accident...

I don't know many people who would give 10k to their wives families in the US so how do you justify doing it for someone in the philippines?

could this be why it was assumed to be USD.

PhilippinesChange of Point of Entry

So my fiancee wrote in one of the forms (cant remember what form) for K1 visa that her point of entry in the US is gonna be in Connecticut where my parents live. I am in the military and stationed in washington and gonna be deployed soon, but we decided that she just land in Washington instead. is this gonna be a problem for us ?

none at all. it doesn't matter what POE is put on the DS form, you can use any POE.

PhilippinesIs it a good idea to send more info now or to just wait?

Yes although they approved NOA2 with no photos I will have them at the interview. Although when I filed I tried proving both scenarios, one that I was there and met her but didn't have photos to back it up, and two that I can't go there right now which if you can prove you can't meet them for some reason then that is supposed to be ok also. Either way I have photos now so that part should be ok at the interview.

from what I've heard, it's extremely difficult to get a waiver for having met in person.

PhilippinesK-1 Process after NOA2
I agree, this thread should be pinned. It's very helpful to members. In the past, we had a guide in the forum and similar informative threads. one possible problem is, over time some information becomes dated due to changes in the process at the Embassy, causing confusion with some members. as long as it remains current or can be edited, it should be pinned.

PhilippinesWhen can Mom-In-Law file
I can understand you concern. for the daughter the wait now is close to 2 1/2 years (F2A). hopefully that will improve. even with CSPA, it's possible the daughter will age out.

PhilippinesWhen can Mom-In-Law file
I suggest reading the instructions for the i-130. http://www.uscis.gov.../i-130instr.pdf

she has to be a LPR before she can petition for her child. an A# number goes not give LPR status. it is simply an alien registration number. your MIL first needs to obtain her visa, then enter the USA before she can petition her child. don't do anything that would delay the process for the daughter.

PhilippinesWhen can Mom-In-Law file

Hello Everyone,

We filed for my Mother-in-Law to come over here and received our NOA1 for the I-130.

Now we wait for the application to be forwarded to NVC.

In the mean time we are getting the DS-230 forms signed and mailed back to us here in the US.

My question now is this:

How soon can MiL file for her youngest daughter?

I see from the I-130 form, the only information needed from Mom is her 'A' number.

I would expect she will have that assigned from NVC shortly.

Can she file once she has that?

It would be before she has had her interview in Manila however....

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Phil

she cannot file until she becomes a Permanent Resident.

PhilippinesCFO Counseling Requirement has no legal basis

My fiancé was definitely in the minority at St. Luke's, not many men getting k1 visas. I can imagine how he will feel at the CFO seminar.

What right does the Philippine govt have to get involved in our relationship!?! I mean, it took some time to teach him the right way. He knows to say "yes ma'am, may I have another?" But what about after the seminar... Is he going to stand up to me now? Men should know their place... Working like slaves so I can go shopping or to the salon... And have my dinner ready when I get home... Or... Well there are consequences... If this messes with our balance of power in the relationship.., I might just have to write a wordy message to both the Philippine government and my senator... Women have come too far to go back 40 years...

Lol!!! I think it's dumb he has to go,,, but... It is what it is...

:protest: when he gets his green card, this one will have to be revoked...

a copy of a tax return is not a requirement for ROC. it's only beneficial when it's a joint return. check the VJ Guide and submit as much joint evidence as possible.

PhilippinesFORM I-134

salamat. We completed the form. looked up the financial requirements, he is almost 5x above the required level so shouldn't be a problem.

for question 7, the i134 instruction document states all wage information that seems easily frauded. it doesn't list w-2 (unless self employed), paystubs, etc. it asks for written statements. so copies of a few of the most recent paystubs and w-2 are not enough?

I only used tax return, W-2. employment letter and couple of recent paystubs.

PhilippinesK2
you listed her on the I-129f, so your set there. a K-2 Visa is not automatic. every visa applicant has to have an interview. so if she is coming at the same time as her mom, the mom and child's interview will be at the same time. the child will need a separate visa application and medical. the process for a K-2 is pretty much the same as the K-1. also, remember the child will need to be registered with CFO.

PhilippinesNSO Document Verification?

Good day to you all,

My Question is in regards to some threads I've come across now that I'm focusing on the interview at the Manila Embassy.

I have read here and there that the USE in Manila will require documents to undergo a document verification at the NSO and that it's wise to have this done or paid for prior to going to the interview? Can someone with recent experience involving a case from the Philippines enlighten me on this?

Thank you,

Sahs

the Embassy will decide if any documents you submit need to be verified. you may have been reading some old threads which mentioned a document verification fee. that is an old requirement which is no longer in existence.

^^ Thank you, appreciate it. I suppose the vaccinations are not covered by the medical exam fee that was paid? How much amount you think should we prepare if that's the case? Sorry about the questions, I just like to be prepared and anticipate possible curveballs in the process.

Regan, to sum it up, you can go either way. you can get extra copies which you may or may not need. if you don't get extra copies and a sitution arises where one is needed, it can be ordered from the ecensus website. you'll just have to wait a few weeks for it to arrive. no need to sweat over this one.

it's a good idea. no one can say for sure you'll need them. but if you do, you will not have to order them from the ecensus website.

Sorry, He is not my biological son. I just call him that. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

We added him to the 129F form on section B #13. But I dont remember if anything else was submitted with stuff for him. Id have to check with our lawyer who is doing it.

Im just getting really nervous and really want this to go smoothly.

Thanks

Hey guys,

I have another question. I recieved the NOA1 about three weeks ago and of course her name was printed on it, but our son was not. We put his name in the appropiate spots on the application, but am concerned about not seeing his name on the NOA1 with my fiance.

Thanks

if it is your biological son, he will not be applying for a visa. if you haven't already, you need to do a CRBA at the Embassy.

http://manila.usemba...itizenship.html

also to note, as I recall, a K-2's name does not appear on the NOA1.

hi guys, i have another question :innocent:

im filling up the i-485 form here, and in the area where i have to list my spouse and all children, do i mark the box where it says my son is applying with me? cause he isnt with me, he is still in the philppines. :(

we are also going to need a co-sponsor for now, because we are in our early adjustment stage in our marriage/relationship. im optimistic things will get better as the months go by, but for now we will need a co sponsor. there is a question there, should i put my name on the co sponsors form, and i put my sons name in my husbands form? thanks. because if i put my name and my sons name on the co sponsor form, it wouldnt be enough..i think, my idea is to combine the resources...can anyone pls help me? thank you in advance.. :help:

you would check no. you would only check yes if he was already here in the USA.

PhilippinesQuestions about k2 dependent, is he automatically approved
1. yes, your father can take your son to the interview. every visa applicant has to have an interview. it isn't simply a matter of going to the Embassy and having visa stamped in his passport.
2. your father can accompany you son to the USA. believe he will need to get travel permit for your son at DSWD.
3. you can file for AOS when you have received a certified marraige certificate.
4. a K-2 Visa has to be approved within one year of the date the K-1 Visa was approved.
5. the is no extra cost for papers here. the cost of the K-2 visa application process is about the same as from a K-1 Visa. the cost of your son's medical will be less than the cost was of your K-1 medical.
6. with the I-864 Affidavit of support, you can use a joint sponsor to qualify for income level of household size of 3.

don't forget, your child will need to be registered with CFO.

PhilippinesYoung filipino children adjusting to American Lifestyle

I've know women that have waited because they want to be sure its safe for their children. They're willing to take the chance and risk that the person they marry is the person they thought they were for themselves but are not willing to extend that risk to their children. Given the horror stories told in the Philippines, and even some stories here, I can't blame them. Parents separated from the children is not such an uncommon thing in the Philippines, so its much easier to make that choice than it would be here. It seems that many children there have multiple mothers and fathers the family ties are so close.

I agree for some, the reason you mentioned would be a main consideration. for others, fiancial reasons could make it difficult for children to come at the same time as the mom or the children are near finishing their high school education. I've also seen many mention that they want to come here first to get settled in and adjust to life here in the USA. for those, maybe more consideraion should be given to having the children come at the same time as their mom. as has been mentioned, most children do not have a difficult time adjusting to life in the USA.
sunandmoonMalePhilippines2013-03-26 11:57:00
PhilippinesYoung filipino children adjusting to American Lifestyle
I am a strong believer that children should come at the same time as their mother. I know many have reasons why the children come here at a later date, but I wish they would consider an important reason for coming at the same time as their mom, family unity. the time lost not being together as a family is time that can never be replaced.
as far as adjustment to life in the USA, children seem to have a quicker and easier time than the adults.

PhilippinesNBI Clearance Needs Letter of Certification??

Okay, so my spouse has gotten her NBI Clearance in Philippines. The report states: NO RECORD ON FILE. I have read here and there that she needs some kind of a letter of certification in addition to this NBI clearance from the NBI. Is this correct? Her NBI clearance includes a combination of her maiden name and includes her married name. On the form it says, PURPOSE: VISA USA.....does she need to go back to NBI for some kind of a letter in addition to this clearance? The lady at the NBI did not know what she was talking about when she asked for the letter. If she does need to go back to the NBI office exactly what does she need to ask for as far as a letter of certification goes? Please help.

no letter needed. you're ok.

4. NBI CLEARANCE (Green Form): Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names ever used. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record”, or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is considered valid only for one year from the date it is issued. You may contact NBI at (632) 523-82-31 to 38. The NBI website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.
