i believe she will be able to have her interview in Dubai. i've seen many posts in various forums where a Filipina OFW is able to have her interview in the country where she is working.

you'll receive your NOA2 in snail mail. next will be letter from NVC when you're assigned a case number and petition being sent to embassy. Before the interview at the embassy will be sent the Fiance Package. that's the only one instructions.
best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTOUCHES ARE OVERSTATED BY VJ MEMBERS
i agree with William. a touch just means you case was handled. doesn't give any indication of it's status. from the Portfolio page:
Note on "Last Updated" date:
Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email Notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

PhilippinesBiometrics Done

Biometrics appointment was for 10am at Norridge, Illinois near Ohare airport. Perfect because we live nearby 30 minutes away and heard stories of many making long trips. I expected a long morning of a packed office and long process because the Mexican population is heavy here. We arrived just past 9 and discovered a empty place with a handful of people young, old and from Germany, Africa, Mexico. A security guard in uniform clearly showing a security company not USCIS agent. She was polite and thorough gave a page to fill out. Here is where the problem starts. My wife fills it out using married name. We have not changed anything with Social Security office because we need this done and stalled getting state ID because sure we will get run around there also. She gets called and I went to follow but sternly told to go sit and wait. This is not a sterile secured area and nothing for me to tamper with. The women working the kiosk are not in anything that would identify them as working for USCIS or contract employees. My wife only has her passport. The paperwork is filled in pencil with her married name. Says she needs ID with new name. She directs us to an office I am assuming supervisor. He directly says then you need marriage license. I asked if we can go get it and come back. He says anytime before 3. Thank god we live nearby and go get it. Now office is pretty much empty. Still had to hear one firmly tell someone to sit down! Anne goes up and seems nice and cordial as I was still able to stand nearby and watch the process. So, I would suggest all bring marriage license and we played it safe brought some other docs with her name. We live nearby and if someone drives long distance this is not good. They seem to be set on handing a yellow card to everyone. Its a "customer satisfaction survey". I see everyone duly and diligently fill it out. I am thinking "really! are they serious". I am just put off by the office is nondescript on outside, 3rd party security as reception and workers not identifiable and not seem happy, instructions say to only bring identification.....her passport is her ID! Anyway its done and we spent day together and had a great lunch and dinner...another checked off on to do list!

I realize your just venting, but the employees at the ASC office were just doing their job. there was a no name match, that's why you needed to have your marriage certificate.

Nope. Same age.

In fact, 90% of the girls I interact with on a daily basis are probably 18-20ish. So half my age. They are still 'ate'. Saan nagaral ka ng Pilipino?

PhilippinesPetitioning My Parents

Yes, but not as long. I think petitioning a sibling from the Philippines is now about a 21 year wait. And a child over 21 something around 5 or 6 years? Also I thought the age was frozen at the time of the petitioning now?

for an LPR parent to petition a child over 21, it's about a ten year wait. also, the child has to be unmarried.

http://travel.state....letin_5834.html

the age is frozen for a child under 21 only if the petitioning parent is a USC.

Ok, I know I need to fill out another I-129F, do I submit that at the same time as the K1 packet? Are there any other forms to fill out? What if there is no contact with her child's father or unable to find him? Will the child have to go a separate day or the same day as my finacee for the medical?

I appreciate any help in clearing this up. Also, Paul is only 15 months old now.

to start, you just need to list the child on the I-129f, part B, question 13.

you can get a divorce in the USA. the 10 years is now long the I-864 will be in effect. even if you divorce after 3 years. you'll still be on the hook for 7 more years, unless she's become a citizen or returns to the Philippines.

PhilippinesVisa Issued During Interview?
nope...

The Immigrant Visa Unit uses a guaranteed courier service to deliver issued visas. 2GO commercial courier is the Embassy's authorized courier service provider for the visa units. Visas are delivered directly to the applicant’s designated address at no additional cost. Applicants also have the option to pick up the visa at any 2GO branch.

I believe the time frame is a week to 10 days.

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

So why is it different in your case? You also want a wife for sex and her loyalty too. Simply because your fiance is not marrying an older guy, why does that mean she's not interested in getting into the U.S. and supporting her family back home as well? Just because a couple are similar in age, doesn't take away the fact that they are using each other...whether it's for love, money, happiness, security, etc. They want something and the relationship they are in hopefully gives them that. I also know of several American men that live in PI with their wives, so assuming that the wife is only doing it to get into USA isn't always the case. Even my wife tried to convince me to live with her instead of her coming here. So all the older white guys can't find a woman back home in your opinion....what's your excuse then? You're a young white guy and you're not finding a woman back home either. Don't bash others for doing the same exact thing you're doing. You'll only make yourself out to be an idiot in the process.

As far as not seeing younger Filipinas with older Filipinos, I saw it plenty of times. Even my father-in-law was with a lady the same age as his daughter. The girls stop and stare simply because you're white, not because you're with a girl your age. Walking through Montalban I had entire groups of people turn around and look at me. Every time I was in a mall I got plenty of looks. As white guys, we stand out in a crowd of non-whites, it's as simple as that.

it was his first post on VJ. he was just trying to make a good first impression...

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

i guess it's not only you who gets that same attention.. whether it is a group of white guys or gals or a filipina with a white guy regardless of their age, people here tends to get nosy. You should have observed that too! :D

but that wouldn't have the same flaming effect he was hoping for...

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

My personal observation is that old (divorced) American men, who cannot find women in the States, go after young filipinas who need to get a US visa. The women "love" the men (who are old enough to be their dads), but both parties are basically using each other. The man uses the woman for sex and a for a loyal wife, and the filipina uses the man to get into the US and support her family back home. Why are people so afraid to admit this? I've been to the Philippines 3 times and it is soooo obvious that this is the case. If not, then why don't you ever see young filipinas with older filipino men?

So the age difference is pretty shameful in most cases. I'm marrying a filipina and filed the I-129F back in October. I'm 25 and my fiance is 26. Whenever I'm walking around with my fiance in the Philippines, all the girls stop and stare because they are so shocked that a young white guy is down there with a filipina girl. Again, this is my observation, and everyone knows it's true!

Welcome to VJ.

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

Well actually "F" has been officially added:

Although the word "Filipino" is acceptable in Filipino (the Philippine language), most Filipinos will still say Pilipino when referring to a Filipino person while speaking in Filipino/Tagalog.

For example: "Ako ay Pilipino." ("I am Filipino.")

Why? Primarily because a "p" sound is easier for a Filipino to pronounce than an "f" sound. In fact, even though the letters c, f, j, x, z, etc. have formally been included in the Philippine/Filipino
alphabet, there is still an overwhelming tendency to transliterate foreign words into native pronunciation forms.

korrect.

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

http://fyinfodaily.c...one-is-correct/

Philippino, Phillipino, Philipino
are terms that most foreigners used when they search for people living in the Philippines. According to ark it is a high-traffic low density (HITLOAD) keyword that brings traffic to his site. Ark Hilario owns the no. 1 spot in the Google search engine results page (SERP) for the keyword Phillipino.

For the benefit of people who do not know the correct or proper term to use to address citizens of the Philippines is Filipino. It is also the official language of the Philippines which is based on Tagalog dialect.

"Philippino, Philipino and other such misspellings are unacceptable and are jarring to Filipino eyes. Remember: Filipino is the noun that refers to the Philippine national language and to the Philippine people (Filipinos); it is also an adjective to describe people, things and such from the Philippines (the other adjective being Philippine). "

So inquiring minds want know - WHAT YOU THE PINOY & PINAY SAY??

Cultural Note: Although the word "Filipino" is acceptable in Filipino (the Philippine language), most Filipinos will still say Pilipino when referring to a Filipino person while speaking in Filipino/Tagalog.

For example: "Ako ay Pilipino." ("I am Filipino.")

Examples: kompyuter, kwalipikasyon, okasyon, kendi, indibidwal, sipilis...

Sort of an interesting read.

http://www.filipinaw...Differences.htm

that website used to have a popular Philippine Forum. when I was first learning about the process, I joined VJ. I took a pretty vicious beating from some members when asking questions about follow to join for a K-2. I found refuge in The asawa forum. one member there, Ray Bacon pointed out the plus and minus of follow to join, and encouraged me to have my then fiancee's daughter come at the same time as her mom. They came here at the same time and it's one of the best decisions we've ever made. the asawa forum shut down in 2006 and I decided to give VJ another try. I found the Manila Embassy Interview Thread in the Embassy Forum. what I like about it was it's spirit of community. It was so popular, it got so big it had to be restarted 3 times, that the Philippine Forum was created on VJ back in 2007...
