K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Strange conversation with the NVC	Both ....I just got off the phone with the Visa Specialist in DC and they told me they don't have a number yet!! Sooo What can I say just wait....at least I know NVC won't hold it up.....I just wish there was something more concrete!! You've been waiting for a month......Have they sent you anything with the new number?? Nothing yet. I just talked to the DOS and they never heard of such a thing. She suggested that I call the Manila embassy and see if its there. Gary let us know what you find out. My NOA does not say it went direct, but NVC says they have no record of our petition and USCIS says they sent it on 14 Sept. I am not panicing yet because it has only been two weeks. Good luck, Payato They kept telling me the same thing at NVC, no record of it being there, till I called on Sept 16 and they told me the case number was assigned and the petition was being forwarded to the Embassy. And just tell them this is a revision of the original I-129F and blame them for not sending you an RFE originally for marrying a woman who would soon change her mind? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Update on my K1 Fiasco	So, I have contacted the Embassy and they have sent my Package 3 to my old address. They have wrong addresses listed for both my Fiance and I. Even thought we notified them recorded delivery in writing and by letter. I have emailed them again with my new address, and I am going to go to my old house and see if I can track the letter down! I hope they kept it??? At least I am further down the line than I expected, but this address situation is so bad! We don't have a NOA2 in writing, I assume I need this for my interview? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-129F Certificate Number Box	Maybe a little overly ####### to ask this, but why not? On the example form of the I-129F here on visajourney: http://www.visajourn...Form-I-129F.pdf The box for certificate number under question 10 says: (ONLY complete for naturalization certificate) I have check marked "Birth in the US". Well, I already printed my form and have input the "file number" of my birth certificate, date, and place of issue in the box. Is this OK? Should I remove it? I am including a scan image of my birth certificate anyways. Anyone get in any trouble for having the BC number in this box? Also, it would seem to me that only answering it for a naturalization certificate has been learned through experience as I can not find anywhere in the forms where it says to include the number only for a naturalization certificate. If I hadn't seen the example form, I would think I have followed the instructions. Sorry if I am being a bit too #######. Maybe it doesn't matter. Thanks. That box is only for Naturalization certificate, since you were born in the US then nothing is needed there. I realize it doesn't differentiate between a wedding ceromony and having a marriage license. guess it's just up to the individual what they feel comfortable with. for me, i wouldn't since it could cause unnecessary risks of denial or AR. Can the petitioner come to the Philippines to get married and will that marriage be valid in the U.S. and satisfy the K-1 question of marriage? Or will there still have to be another marriage once they come into the United States? CONSUL: Philip If you have been issued a K-1 visa DO NOT get married before leaving for the U.S. You must get married within 90 days of arriving in the U.S. but if you marry before you leave then you are entering the U.S. as a spouse of an American Citizen. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Question after approval	depends on how long it takes to AOS. if you have not AOS to CR, you would need to file I-131 Advance Parole for travel abroad. leaving the US before AOS is complete and not having Advance Parole, you might not be allowed back into US. i'm not sure if it applys or not for travel into Canada.
