i'm sure you'll do fine at the interview. let's only have positive thoughts. i told my fiance not to make any plans for Dec 13. she asked why. i told her she has a prior commitment. she said what? then it hit her. think she's still walking on cloud nine.
don't worry, you'll breeze thru the interview.

i've seen some post they received a letter from Embassy that it has received their petition. is that what is being referred to as package 3? at the Manila Embassy I was under the impression there is no package 3 for K-1 visa. i thought a K-1 only receives package 4, fiance visa appointment package, that is online at the Embassy website.

we received our NOA2 on July 31. NVC assigned a case number on Aug 15. the physical petition arrived at the Embassy on Aug 23. When calling NVC, they couldn't even tell me if my petition was there. when i called on Aug 16 it was, since it had been assigned a case number.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionwill i be denied?

afparks,

Is your husband in the US military?

hello everyone thanks for the reply. my husband tried to find a family member of him that could be a co-sponsor but sad to say no one except his grandpa would be qualify as co-sponsor but the problem is his grandpa wont agree to be a co-sponsor. so we really dont have any choice. also we dont want to get a co-sponsor because humor said that the manila embassy wont allow anymore a co-sponsor for k3. we are not really sure about that but a lot of people been saying that. someone said if his income tax exceed then we should be safe by that because the lottery winning can be considered as cash assets. were really losing hope on this but we will still try to find a way to be able to add on the lack on his w2. God bless

afparks

I could be wrong but I thought that Manilla wasn't allowing cosponsors for the K-3 visa anymore..

i was also wondering if he is in the Air force, in which case would use 100% poverty level guideline.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionwill i be denied?

I will have my interview on december 8 at the manila us embassy. i got my husband's recent income tax return and the attached w-2. now the problem is this, his income tax return exceed on the poverty guidelines limit but on his w2 he lacks about $166 because he leave his job for 21 days last year to be with me and the leave is not a pay leave. his income tax return exceed because he won a small lottery draw which was taxed too. we are so worried that even if the income tax exceed i will still be denied because of the lack on his w-2. will i really be denied? we really dont know what to do. the months are fast approaching. hope to hear any enlightenment. God bless everyone

afparks

it's his gross income that the Embassy will be looking at. did he include a letter from his employer showing his salary exceeds the minimum requirement along with recent pay check stubs?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMore Waiting for Manila Interview for Fiance Visa

For those of us anticipating a January interview in Manila for the fiance visa, we may have more waiting to do. I called the USE in Manila last night (October 18) and the lady told me that the waiting period for a K-1 interview has now increased from 120 days (from the date they received the physical file from the NVC) to 150 days. That information contradicts the pre-interview letter that my fiance, Churchita, got from the USE, which said that the waiting period would be 120 days from the date they received the electronic file from the NVC (August 31). She said that the December appointments have all been taken, so anyone who is still hoping for a December appointment can forget it now. Also, she confirmed that they only release the appointment schedules once-a-month and that they would be releasing the January interview schedule in the middle of November. So, what all of this means is that we have MORE WAITING to do. She said the December schedule, of course, is affected by the holidays.

They say "patience is a virtue." If that is the case, then I am becoming more virtuous by the second. All we can do is pray and hope that we all get our interviews sooner than later. WAITING IS SO HARD!!!

don't give up hope. when i called the Embassy i was told it could be up to 150 days for the interview. we received ours in 112 days.

Interesting: You must not know anybody or people are pulling my leg.

I was told that I could get an interview in a couple of weeks after the
Approval petition was in the Embassy and my fiancee had her physical.
Please do not ask me who as I am trying to get my fiancee in first. (L)

I will let you know how my case works out as I am trying to get her here by
Christmas as too many cold nights to sleep alone in the Midwest. :D

DocMay

a couple of weeks? too many cold nights doesn't sound like a reason the Embassy would give an expedited interview.
