hopefully will see soon someone whose petition arrived at the Embassy in August receive an interview date. since we don't except anything before mid December, my fiance and I decided they wouldn't come her till Jan. that way she and her daughter can enjoy Christmas in the Philippines. it's a different experiece than here. we'll have many in the future to celebrate here in US. i know her daughter will miss her cozs. she's more like their older sister.
anyways still anxious to finally know the interview date. checking the Embassy appointment link countless times since petition reached the Embassy.

i also use the 011 63 2 528 6300 when i call the Embassy. our petition arrived at the Embassy August 23, so now on que for interview. told the same 120 days. the Interview then would be approx. Dec 21st. hope someone will get a date scheduled soon.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIs seperate I-134 AOS form necessary for Fiance's son?
the instructions say one for each. sometimes get conflicting info from Embassy. When i called the Immigrant Visa Section in Manila was told one for each. when i emailed consul at Embassy was told one would suffice if child listed in mother's I-134 and interview for K-2 was at the same time. Definately need two sets of DS forms since they are separate visas.

not all Embassies use the DS-230 for a K-1 visa. it will be in the package if required by your Embassy.

hard to sympathize with you without knowing any details. no one can offer any suggestions without knowing why it happened.

well after two years of separation and 5 months of waiting for the 13th of September to come.
His visa was denied! I still cannot believe that they think our marriage was a sham.
I dont know what else they could have wanted, I really think his interview was unfair.

i've spoken to Lorraine G. before and your right about her being very nice and accommodating. she told me Nov might be possible but Dec. more likely coz of the number of petitions they have coming into the Embassy.

Yeah, she told me Nov/Dec also because of the number of petitions lately, but I don't want December. My crystal ball says we'll get a November interview,

Oh my goodness, I'm going nuts!

Regards on your journey!

Karel

hope you get it. we're only a day behind ya.
if our interview is close to Christmas, maybe i'll tell my fiance is her present.
i'll also have to at least send her a box of See's chocolates.

hi! does anybody know when will the new list of visa interview appointments be released? i have been waitng and waiting for so many years and i hope that this time my case number will be included in this list. thanks and God Bless!

I called the Manila Embassy this morning (Manila time) & was told that they don't have the new schedule posted yet and most likely will have them ready before end of this month. She said that people in line for interview will most likely get a November interview as October has been booked up. Try to call this number, (632) 528-6300 x 5184, the lady (I believe Lorraine) is very very nice & accommodating.

roymcn3rd,

The NVC does charge a $70 processing fee for I-864 for immigrant visa cases.

Yodrak

there is no filing fee for the I-134 or the I-864. ....

sorry if I had wrong info. i was going by forms and fees page on USCIS website. i thought $70 was for biometrics. didn't realize there was fee for I-864 from NVC.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOk now I have a question

Zaeem got his visa today by courier service and the packet that came with it that you are not supposed to open was cut on the right hand side as if it was done on purpose or something. It was like the papers were too big for the package and they cut the side of the corner of the package so they would fit, does anyone thing this will cause us a problem? The package seal has not been opened or anything. Also, Zaeem forget to ask for his original BC back from the Consulate after his Interview, he provided them with copies, do they have to keep the original one, or can we ask them for that back? One more question, after examining the visa, everything on it was correct, his name, his passport #, everything, but on top of the visa under nationality, instead of it saying Pak, which he is, it says Kor, whis he is not. Do you think we should return the visa to have this corrected? I guess we should probably contact the Embassy and ask them about it, gosh, you get the visa just to find mistakes on it and have to return it for corrections. GEEEZZZZ. well, cant complain was approved...... Thanks everyone!!!!

Stacey

from what i've read the slit in the envelope in the right hand side is normal. since you'll be contacting the Embassy about the nationality error, ask them about the envelope as well. hope the error doesn't cause you much delay.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDocuments Validity: Do I need to renew all of them?

hi friends,

the following are the documents that I already have:

birth certificate - sept. 2006
cenomar - sept. 2006
police certificate (philippines) - sept. 2006
police certificate (france) - august 2006
police certificate (thailand) - october 2005
nbi clearance - august 2006

do i need to renew all of them? please, i'd appreciate all the suggestions that you could give. God's willing, my interview might be in december.

regards,
tam

the 2006 documents should be ok. only 3 to 4 months old at the time interview. not sure about police certificate from Thailand. if you have not been in Thailand since Oct 2005 maybe it's ok. i'd email the Embassy to make sure.

I stand corrected. if you do meet the 125% requirement, at least you'll have peace of mind, as far as income required, when it comes time to AOS.

Poverty guidelines: http://www.uscis.gov.....20guidelines"

You have to be 100% above. And how much it is, depends on which state you live in and on the household size.

use 125% for 48 Contingous States. as Mew points out, depends on your household size.

I thought it was 100% for I-134, unless otherwise asked by the consulate/embassy (e.g., Brazil).

i'm not completely positive, but i thought it was the same for I-134 and I-864. it doesn't state in the instructions for the I-134. you could be right.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFiancee Interview (K1 visa)

Hi everyone, I live in the U.S. and my fiancee in Venezuela. I read on this website that once I receive my NOA2, I must send a copy of my ENTIRE I-129F package to my fiancee so she can bring this to the interview. Is this really necessary, does she need all the same forms again (G-325, I-129 application, etc)?? I just thought I needed to send her the documentary proof of our relationship (pics, letters, phone bills, etc). Can someone clear this up for me? Also, is there a fee for the fiancee interview? If so, how much is it? Thanks again.

it's not required to send a copy of the entire I-129f. i did so my fiance could be familar with what's in it. here's a link to the US Embassy in Caracas on the fiance visa.

it's best to have the documents as recent as possible. i've heard it recommened the beneficary have the I-134 one month before the interview date. at this point i'd say the interview date will be Feb/March. at the Manila Embassy it takes 3 to 4 months from the time your petition arrives at the Embassy till you have an interview. best of luck with the rest of the process.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAny guesses when Dec appts will be made for Manila?

I was initially irritated too when the November appointments came out, and those with time-lines in and around ours got appointments and we did not. But for what its' worth, it appears they are scheduling them based upon NOA2 dates. I called the embassy last week, and the lady said that appointments are typically scheduled in the "third" week of the month, and I should call back at the end of the month if I have not learned anything new. Based upon the arrival date of the physical files at the embassy (Aug. 17) I should "expect" an interview sometime in December. I hope she meant this December and not next December.

our petition arrived at the Embassy on the 23rd. i'm hoping the Dec. interviews will be released in next 7 to 10 days. i'm thinking Dec is looking good for us.

the package from the Embassy will have an appointment letter which will have the interview and medical date. the medical can be taken sooner, but not more than a month from the interview.
