US Embassy and Consulate Discussionb1/b2 visa sample form?
for tourist visa, believe you would use the DS-156 and DS-157. here's a link to visitor visas.

yes...you do need the police clearance even if you the NBI clearance already. If it is part of the requirement...yes you do...

I agree with roymcn3rd and KenMaria, police certificate would only be required if you lived for 6 months in another country. Otherwise, you only need the NBI Clearance.

 here's a link to the Fiance Visa Appointment Packet so you can check out all the required documents for the interview. http://usembassy.sta...la/wwwfivk1.pdf

are you referring to the other country police certificates listed as required documents in the Appointment Packet? if so , you are only required to submit the other country police cetificate if you lived overseas for six months or more after reaching the age of 16.
for the medical, bring copy of appointment letter, passport and I think 3 passport style photos.
check Sheriff Ulings signature, you'll find lots of helpful links there.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about Docs for Interview?
Since I included a photocopy in the petition, I sent my fiancee a certified copy of my birth certificate since the CO could ask to see the original of any copy that was submitted with the petition. I decided to play it safe.

don't worry, your good to go. that's the way BPI is doing it. validating the back of a blank DS-157. you will not have any problem with that at the interview.

Good luck Kirk! Watch yourself if you decide to settle in Davao. Not the safest city for a westerner. God Bless.

I felt safer in Davao than I did in Manila.

I don't doubt that. Like any big city anywhere in the world can be dangerous. Visiting is one thing and actually living there is another thing however. As I'm sure you know groups like Jemaah Islamiya, Abu Sayyaf and Moro Islamic Liberation Front operate out of that area of the Phils. And I understand they have the ability to strike most anywhere in the country. Just giving Kirk a friendly keep an eye out, watch yourself and be careful.

I agree with one should always be aware of their surroundings. there are many areas in Mindanao where I would not have felt comfortable.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPhilPost delivery of USE correspondense safe?

Thank you for the information. No one discusses here in the forum about PhilPost (Philippine Postal Service) doing the delivery of 2 sensitive mails from the USE prior to the interview. They should have a private courier deliver those mails...had bad experience with PhilPost that's why. I know from NVC it was DHL and the visa (as always mentioned) will be delivered by Delbros.

The appointment packet will be delivered by Delbros.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPhilPost delivery of USE correspondense safe?

We were surprised to received from PhilPost the Receipt Notice from the US Embassy in Manila indicating that "the hardcopy files of the petition have been delivered by the NVC". It arrived safely but is it normal for USE to mail it thru regular Philippine Postal Service? I expect they will use more safe courier...

Need thoughts about this if its normal or not...

Thank you.

sounds like talking you're about the pre interview letter. that would be sent by regular mail. the packet will be delivered be Delbros.

Thank you! So we wouldn't have to bother calling the USE...just wait for the packet and the interview date :) I know they will schedule it soon. Just preparing all the necessary papers right now and almost done.

Thanks again!

looking at your timeline, I'd guess you will have a late May, early June appointment. between the 15th and 20th of March, use the appointment check in the Embassy website to check for an appointment date. Sheriff Uling also has a link to it in his signature.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview Manila

Hello,

Our petition is currently in process too at the USE Manila. My fiancee got the noticed receipt last 01/30/2007. And same thing, she was told she will receive the packet 4 (or whatever it is called) days before her scheduled interview. Now my question since you called the USE Manila, do we have to call and schedule the interview or they will do the scheduling for us? I am so confused of when are they going to tell us the interview date so as the medical appointment date.

Thank you and good luck!

Coco Puff

Yo will receive the packet after you have been scheduled an interview. the Embassy schedules all K-1 Visa appointments. check out the timelines in the Manila Embassy thread.

there is no packet 3 for Manila. your fiancee wiil receive the Fiancee Visa Appointment Packet about a week to 10 days after being scheduled an interview. she will bring all the documents the day she has her interview. yes, the DS-156 will be filled out online for both the K-1 and K-2 visa applications.
May I suggest you join the Manila Embassy Interview thread in the Embassy Forum. lots of members there going thru the same things as you .

as Yodrak points out, no right or wrong answer to this question. it pertains more to other forms of non-immigrant visas. I checked yes and wrote " all expenses as needed."

White out on the form should be fine, it s a supplemental biographic form for non-immigrant visa application. I don't see where it needs anything stamped on it though.

that's how the visa payment is validated by BPI for Manila. your also given a receipt.

I don't think that will be a problem.the machine stamped DS-157 will be accepted as proof of payment. to play it safe, you can fill out another DS-157 , in case they ask for one without corrections made to it.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionName of person on a Hotel Reciept investigation
Hi Eddie,

on my receipts it has a person's name, but in front of the name it has cashier or front desk. I can see where the confusion comes from on your Marco Polo receipt. hopefully what you faxed and emailed the Embassy can clear it up. I miss Davao also. Next time I'm going to Davao will be as a family. hope your not caused too much delay.

Roy

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionName of person on a Hotel Reciept investigation
I haven't heard that before. It's very common in the Philippines for a person's name, such as a cashier, to appear on a receipt. I'd have to look at my receipts from Apo View, Mandaya and Waterfront to see if similar to Marco Polo. Still you would think they've seen that before. I hope this doesn't cause you much delay.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionRecipt of Visa from Delbros

as I rememember Yazi describing it, the brown envelope is covered by a clear plastic envelope. it's ok to remove the plastic covering the brown envelope to get the passport and visa. DO NOT open the brown envelope itself. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Do not open the brown envelope that contain the documents for POE (now that make sense to me) and remove her passport to confirm the correct information on her visa.

Any information would be helpful :)

Best Regards,
Eddie

that's it. ok to open the plastic delivery envelope so you can get the passport with visa.

i not sure of the best thing to do in your situation. when your K-1 is issued, you will have six months to enter the US.
if you withdraw the application for the K-2, then you will have one year from the date your K-1 was issued to have a
K-2 issued for your child, not just the application submitted.
