Did you call the Embassy to verify if interview has been canceled? I'd call to verify the interview date.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Embassy Interview

This seems odd to me because St.lukes doesn't cancel interviews. They just work the Embassy, they may tell them that the medical wasn't complete or whatever. The dealing of the interview date is done with the embassy and should be handled by the petitioner calling the Embassy.

I am considering letting Lilia go forward and attend the interview on the 28th, even though her medical is not yet cleared. I am thinking that the case of a quick rescheduling might be better if she talks to the CO in person and explains that she still has some tests to clear at St. Luke's. Am I dreaming to think they might just tell her to come back as soon as her medical is clear?

I can't bear the thought of getting a new date 3 months away over the phone and then appealing for an expedited interview through channels. Can anyone tell me the flaw of sending her ahead on the 28th to see the CO in person?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all, thanks too for the great help in a difficult and awkward time.
Rob

If she goes and the interview has been canceled, my guess is she wouldn't be able to see a CO.

I need help!!!
Can anyone tell me about the I134 Affidavit of Support?
I have printed it out just to review it and in section I. It says, If you are in the United States, the affidavit may be sworn to or affirmed before an officer of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services without the payment of fee, or before a notary public or other officers authorized to administer oaths for general purposes in which case the official seal or certificate of authority to administer oaths must be affixed. Does this means I have to go to my local office here in the US and have this notorized there or at any notory public office?

Also, Section II Supporting Evidence,
My income exceeds the proverty guidelines by 100 % and I want to show my income tax transcripts, but is it only for Self Employed or everyone who want to submitt their income tax papers???
Please let me know if you have any information.

Thanks,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on a new life Journey

at any public notary in your county.
tax transcripts are accepted to back up your income. also a letter from your current employer.

PLEASE HELP ANYONE!

I have a specific question regarding Jinky's 5 yr. old son, Job. She was never married to his father, but the father is named on Job's Birth Certificate.

Will the Philippine Government allow Jinky to bring Job to the USA without the father's permission? (He has no legal custody of the child). The father is now living here in the states (Maryland) although he is a Filipino National and Jinky knows he'd sign a paper giving permission, but I just want to find out if his permission is required and if so, in what form? A notarized paper?

Thank you,

Steven :star:

under the Philippine Family Code, an illegitimate child is under the sole custody of the mother. if the father never took any legal action for custody, shouldn't need permission from him. i don't think she would need a travel clearance from the DSWD. here's a link, http://www.dswd.gov....tails.php?id=47

I think DHL usually delivers the packets. they text Yazi asking her to pick it up at the local office, saying they didn't have correct address. when she picked it up , it had her correct address.
was her current cell # on her G-325A?

gary, the day before she did receive a text from Delbros saying it would be delivered in next 7 days. no specific time. she was having it delivered to her work place. since she isn't always in the office, she did write a letter of authorization so an office mate could take delivery. she gave her an ID when she went out of the office. the visa did arrive the day after receiving the text. she was about to go out, so had given her friend the ID. then Delbros arrived. in the excitement she forgot she had given her friend the ID and was frantically looking for it till her friend brought it to her.
one litttle last bit of excitement for her, to bring this process to an end.

Is the ID you leave an original or copy? Obviously fiance won't have her passport then, but she could leave a copy of that, or her NBI clearacne, or something.

probably any type picture ID. yazi said Delbros opened the courier pack. inside was a clear envelope with the brown envelope and passport opened to first page, inside of it. Delbros probably uses picture ID to compare with the opened passport.

Hi garya505,

Trying to reconcile conflicting info on number of passport photos needed at the medical exam...

It seems they take one photo to put on the form one fills up on the first day (thus, the info given to you when you called St. Luke's).
Then, they take another 2 when the medical report is to be released to the Embassy on the second day.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, please?

Gen

that's same as what my fiance told me. at St. Lukes, one photo for the form filled out. they put two in plastic envelope which is sent to the Embassy. for interview you need two, one for each DS-156 form.

hi,

prayers to those who will have their interviews tomorrow, specifically, roy's fiancée. also, to those who will have their medical examinations and the ones who are waiting for their visas to arrive in their respective destinations.

God bless,
tam

Suggestion: if you would like to check the status of your visa after the interview, try to call the Dept. of State's (DOS) no. which is 202-6631225 ext. 100. a visa specialist will be able to give you some useful information about the status of your case. just provide the case no. (e.g. MNL2006723XXX) and the beneficiary's name,

thanks Tamara and everyone else. Yazi is at the Embassy now. shimmy, I've already finished off a bag of Lay's BBQ chips.

In response to some members posts would be better sent as PMs.
To me, this is not just a factual information thread. members here have a sense of community.
when someone shares an experience, it may not seem pertinent, but it may be helpful to others who might have a similar experience.
when a member post a separate thread about the process, it would not be long before it's buried in the back pages of the Embassy Forum. at least here it's in a centralized location.
true this thread has become very long, but contains lots of useful info. you might have search for what your looking for.

How do you know when your file gets to Manila? Do they send an email or letter or something? As of yesterday mine hadn't made to NVC yet.

after you have your case number, I got mine by calling NVC, you can call the Embassy at
011-63-528-6300 ext 5184 or 5185. 7:30am to 8:00am Manila time seems to be best time to call. that's how I found out my physical petition arrived at the Embassy. When case number is assigned, an electronic file of your petition will be sent to the Embassy.

UPDATE RE AR: Just called the Manila Embassy about our case which was placed on AR only to find out
that the REAL reason my baby was placed on AR was to do a SINGLENESS (CENOMAR) check. Interview
done on 11/24 check completed on 12/4 and sitting on consul's desk, advised to call back early next
week for further update....seems like a very short AR indeed...thank God.

that's good news.hopefully only a short delay. AR for CENOMAR is one thing I worry about since my fiancee is a single mom. she has a CENOMAR, but the Embassy could always order one of their own. If happens, hope it's also a short delay.

I read Ronmay's surprise appointment and decided to check my own.
Guess What!!!

Case Number: mnl2006761XXX
Visa Classification: K1
St. Luke's Appointment Date: Thursday, December 21, 2006 (7:00:00 AM)
Embassy Appointment Date: Thursday, December 28, 2006 (6:30:00 AM)

I am going to have a stroke! I can't believe it. It will be done this year. I counted on February and now I have three weeks. No packet 4, no letter and no email. If I had not checked the Embassy Appointment website, I wouldn't have known it. If Ronmay hadn't checked, I wouldn't have checked. AMAZING!

if your papers and all other requirements are in order...the rape trial results should not affect your visa applications.

yeah, i know but then we didn't knw wat the american consul thinking now. obviously some of em are meanie pie atleast not all of em ha. well, think positive only. m just sharing wat ive seen in the news earlier and the concern of the ppl outside in the embassy waiting fr their interview time.

clestz

Hmm, Newbie, no timeline, no photo... I smell a troll. The Marine case has nothing to do with immigrations. It is like comparing apples and oranges.

well, no one comparing here.. am i? like ive said " m just sharing wat ppl concern outside in the embassy today" and dnt said " i smell a troll" here. why, does it matter if i dnt hve pic and timeline?

there is nothing to be concerned about. the people being interviewed probably hadn't even thought about it until some jerk reporter asked such an idiotic question.

dont worry the trial will have no effect on the outcome of any visa application. if that's what's being reported in the news, glad my fiancee told me she does'nt watch the news that much. ;) just an example of irresponsible journalism.

Richard&Maria, thanks for the info.

Im going to be Calling them every day until they are so sick of me they will approve the Visa!
I will be very Calm but Very Persistant.
I gave them Originals for every Document that was listed!
Even original Divorce Papers!
Whats worse is......My Fiance does not think there is any problem!.... I don't know how im gonna tell her. She did ask an officer there if we now are on AR. The officer said everything is in order. She then asked why is nothing checked off for a reason to not approve on the 221G? He would not aswer but reassured Her. So She thinks all is well....
Sounds to me like they just wanted to not have another upset person crying there & just wanted to move on to the next person huh? They just kept telling Her there was "No Problem"!

She Quit Her Job before the interview. Her last day is Dec. 10th. Hello Western Union from here till whenever to pay Her bills.

Did they let her pay the Delbros fee? Maybe it is a name check?

Yes, She payed the Fee at Delbros.
Who Knows what is going on. Im Praying your right on the name check.
She did tell me that Her Birth Certificate was not perfectly clear where her name is written. But it was easilly intelligible. She had 2 copies made from 2 differnt places & both were the same quality. That is the Only thing I can think of that may be happening.

hopefully it will be resolved soon!

I'm just thinking ahead. My fiancee attended CFO in Cebu. she lives in Davao. I heard she will be able to get the sticker at CFO in Manila. she'll be getting the sticker the day she departs for USA.
