PhilippinesDS 156 for K3
I went thru K-1, but I'll try to answer some of your questions.

you do not need to submit a DS-156k. it's not listed in the K-3 packet.
http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk3en.pdf

question 22. you can put " after visa is issued" you are not required to put a specific date.
question 28. my then fiance put my name. I would think you can put your husband's name or write husband or spouse.
question 36 I think you answered it correctly since as K-3 your husband filed an I-130 for you.

PhilippinesPOE in SFO what to expect?
like the other's, my wife's POE at SFO was hassle free. she was not asked for her xray, only asked a couple of questions, she did have her fingerprints scanned. as a another member mentioned, there are monitors in the arrival lobby which show the corridor leading to it. if your fiance is meeting you at SFO, as soon as he see's carts carrying balikbayan boxes, he'll know PAL is clearing customs and it's just a matter of minutes that you'll be together.

Philippinescfo question
My wife attended CFO in Cebu. when she called asking what she needed to bring, she was also asked to bring a document to show I was single. as I recall, she either brought a copy of my paycheck stub or W-2, since that shows marital status. at the seminar, she was not asked for the document. she was only asked, " are you really sure he is single" perhaps you can scan a paycheck stub or W-2 and email it to her. don't think it's necessary to have anything notarized, but do so if it will make you feel more comfortable.

QUOTE (AllRightsReserved @ Apr 14 2008, 06:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello! I kept tracking your posts since we have started the process, I do have two derivatives just like dbears (Hi Gay!). But what I am confused now is whether to enroll my kids this June, this is out of I-134 issue but related as well with k2s. Our girls go for a montessori school costing much for the enrollment/books only to know we only got few months before leaving assuming we get approved by September. Moneywise, it will lessen expenses and instead just use the money for other fees in this journey.

Need your opinion GORGEOUS MOMS!!

Thank you so much!!

I'd have the Kids continue their schooling. their education is the important factor. having to catch up on their education will just add to the adjustment when coming here.

I know i am outside this region but, i have seen many comments from Phil filers mentioning "agencies."

is this necessary or just a huge waste of money?? I have been maried previously and did the whole process without an attorney within the usa,, and recently did DCF filing..

seems to me that attorneys or representation become a waste of money. Is PHIL different? I have a colleague that is thinking of doing the process soon. is it a law that PHIL filers use external reps???? i would have told her not but this forum makes things confusing.

many, including myself, going thru Manila have done the entire process without an Attorney or agency. I guess it just depends on one's comfort level with the process. there is no law that requires those applying for visa in Manila use an external rep.

you are correct Ruby. The parent consent is needed only in CFO not in the US Embassy.

Gretchen

So let me be clear. She will not need it for US Embassy but will need it for CFO if she plans to wed in USA.

If that is true, then she will need it as part of the Visa Process.

She has no contact information for her mother.

So what should be my next step?

Correct, CFO is not needed to be issued the visa. It is a requirement of the Philippine Gov, not The US Embassy. Your fiance will need the sticker from CFO in her passport to be able to board her flight to the USA.

Problem with that is not all POE have baggage claim before you see the immigrations officer, Chicago for example has international baggage between immigrations and customs, so checked bags are hard to get to because they are waiting for you after you see the immigrations officer.

thank you for pointing that out good.gif the POE's I've gone thru, you pickup your checked in before going thru immigration. if you don't know the set up at your POE, best to be safe and hand carry the X-Ray.

I'm not sure how long you need to wait. there is a charge for the call, so guess worse would be they tell you when to call back. best would be you could schedule your interview. the Embassy should already have an electronic file of the petition, however takes about a week for the physical petition to arrive at the Embassy. hopefully someone who recently scheduled an interview can give you the timing when to call. you could always start another thread asking when to call if you do not receive an answer in this one.

It's common for k Visas not to be in the NVC automated system.
for K-3 Visa, you do call to make an appointment.
K Visa Interview Appointments

Starting March 19, 2008, those applying for K-1, K-2, K-3 and K-4 visas who have been notified by the Embassy to prepare for their interview can call 1-909-101-7878 (within the Philippines) to schedule an interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy. The cost of the 909 service is U.S. $0.98 per minute; this amount will be charged to your telephone bill.
Applicants, Agents or Petitioners calling from within the United States will also be able to use this service by calling 1-888-877-9888. The cost of the 888 service from the United States is a U.S. $18 PIN payable using a Visa or MasterCard once you have called into the service.
Applicants or their representatives must have the applicant’s Immigrant Case Number as given in the Embassy notification letter available when they call to schedule an appointment.
Callers can speak with an English or Tagalog speaking operator. The service is available to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, Manila local time.

PhilippinesNew procedure for interview dates
the Embassy website has been updated now concerning new appointment procedure.

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3023.html

Visa Interview Appointments

If you already have a visa petition filed for you and your priority date is current or about to become current, you may check below for your appointment date. Just type your case number on the textbox and click the “Check Appointment” button.

Click here and check for your case number

If you have an interview date but no time is indicated on your appointment letter, you should plan to appear at the Embassy at 7:30 a.m. on the date of your appointment. The database or listing is updated in the middle of each month. If you do not see an appointment date, check back after one month. Usually, this site carries appointment dates three (3) months out.

Starting March 14, 2008, those applying for K1, K2, K3 and K4 visas who have been notified by the Embassy to prepare for their interview can call a Visa Information Service operator to schedule an interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy. Applicants or their representatives must have the applicant’s Immigrant Case Number as given in the Embassy notification letter available when they call to schedule an appointment. This service will be available from within the Philippines as well as from the United States.

Applicants for all other immigrant visa categories unable to make previously scheduled appointments can call the same number, where an operator can reschedule appointments if no medical examination is pending.

Applicants, Agents or Petitioners can call Visa Information Services using the 909 number available within the Philippines at 1-909-101-7878. The cost of the 909 service is U.S. $0.98 per minute charged to your telephone bill. Callers can speak with an English- or Tagalog-speaking operator. The service is available to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, Manila local time.

Applicants, Agents or Petitioners calling from within the United States will also be able to reach our Services at the toll-free number at 1-888-877-9888. The cost of the 888 Service from the United States is a U.S. $18.00 PIN payable using a Visa or MasterCard once you have called into the service.
