just in case what is the leadtime upon completion of documents in NVC? ( rough estimate maybe)?

I found these in some Manila CR-1 members timelines.

case complete..........interview date
10-10-07...................11-20-07
10-04-07...................11-21-07
11-16-07....................1-22-08

don't know if that helps. you can try checking some other timelines.

Yes, the doctor will ask for the baby immunization record. I don't know what happens if you don't have it but it certainly will make the medical process for your baby smooth and faster if you have her records as they will just refer to it and will determine right there and then what vaccines are appropriate. I saw some kids as young as your kid who went for xray after being positive in skin test so the answer is yes, she will have it if the test says positive. My daughter is 1-0 years old.

Gosh, I have my daughter's immunization record but i couldn't find my son's record, i only have the baby book with immunization schedule but he didn't have some of those scheduled immunization.. he (both of them) only had what was given free by the health center and i lost his the health center record card sad.gif

do you think it will be ok if i tell them my son received every immunization that his "ate" had? did anybody expereince not bringing immunization record for their child? how did it go?
thank you again to those that will share.

one thing to remember. vaccinations are not required for the K-1/K-2 visa to be issued. however, they are required for AOS. If you have no vaccination records for your son, the doctor will probably let you decide if you want any given that are appropriate for the age of your son. any vaccinations you have records for or those that are given at St. Lukes, will be enter on a DS-3025 by the doctor.
http://www.visa-talk...orms/DS3025.pdf I doubt the doctor will enter that the vaccinations have been taken in the past without any vaccination records.
in our situation, my wife couldn't find our daughter's vaccination records. we decided to have her retake the vacinnations at St Lukes since they are included in the cost of the medical. since some vaccinations are in a series, it also saved some time by having them started at St Lukes.

My step-daughter (k-2) went to her medical yesterday after a day's delay due to unplanned non-working holiday on Monday where SLEC was closed. Everything is same as reported previously. She had a physical exam, eye test, and all as usual. Then they told her Lola about the TB skin test and she will have to come back in 48 hours for reading. We were not expecting that so its another delay and change of flight. sad.gif Just hoping its not positive cuz then I guess its a chest x-ray and another day's waiting.

We have already changed her flight three times due to passport problem, SLEC being closed on Monday, and now the TB test. I think the ticket agent at Cebu Pacific loves us cuz they make lots of money in changing tickets. LOL It's kind of frustrating though cuz we did not really know the process will extend so long for a child. My wife was done in two days and not a single problem. Krrystal has had nothing but delays and problems. Hope she will get through it all soon. We don't think she had a BCG shot as a baby, so we are hoping the skin test will be negative and no chest x-ray. If she has a chest x-ray and will need to stay till Friday, then she might as well not go home as they will come back on Sunday for a Monday interview!!!

Okay...just venting frustration now. Take care!

PhilippinesApproved K1 Petition Valid until March 19, 2008
QUOTE (manila_2005 @ Mar 12 2008, 02:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Approval notice says the petition is valid from Nov. 20, 2007 to March 19, 2008. Visa interview was Feb 8, but no visa issued yet as of this day. What is the expiration intended for? 1) Does this mean the applicant should be able to apply/appear for interview before expiration, or 2) the visa be issued before the expiration of K1 petition?
Per FAQ on Fiance Visa...

"How much time is given to complete the K-1 visa application?

A K-1 petition is valid for six months from the date of its approval. But this may be revalidated by a consular officer provided that both parties are still legally free to marry. It is recommended to gather all the necessary documents for the visa interview appointment as soon as possible."

If the validity is applicable to item (1) then I am safe.

If the validity is applicable to item (2) and I have not received my visa yet, am I in trouble?

Please clarify. Thanks

Manila_2005

that has to do with the validity date of the NOA2 (approval notice) for the I-129f. Manila will routinely revalidate the NOA2 if it expires before the interview date. don't worry. you're ok good.gif

When the petition reaches the Embassy, you can call to double check that their names are included. all the paperwork will be submitted at the time of the interview.

PhilippinesTip of the Day

K1 Visa beneficaries can bring their children, who have derivative status, to the United States. To find out more, read Section 2.2 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide.

 I know people's circumstances are different, but I would strongly recommend having children come at the same time as their mother. the process is so much simpler. After being together as a family for 5 months now, I could not imagine having left our daughter behind in the Philippines. The lost time together is something you can never replace.

Philippines2 months medical before interview (need answer pls)
medical exams are valid for one year, but that pertains to filing for AOS.

) Validity of Medical Certifications .

(1) General . [Revised as of January 3, 2008; AD 07-22.] Form I-693 is normally valid for a period of 1 year from the date it was endorsed by the civil surgeon. In accordance with the agreements reached between USCIS and the CDC, if the adjustment of status application has been pending for over 1 year and Form I-693 was included with the initial filing, the adjudicating officer may accept a medical exam report that is more than 1 year old because of the pending adjustment of status application, IF there was no Class A or B medical condition noted. This agreement is in effect until January 1, 2008. See January 3, 2007, Extension of Validity of Medical Certifications on Form I-693. http://www.uscis.gov...edExt010307.pdf

(2) K and V nonimmigrants . A new medical exam is not required in order to apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident, if one of the following scenarios exists:

• The applicant is a K or V nonimmigrant and the medical exam did not reveal any Class A or B medical condition, and the application for adjustment of status was filed within 1 year of the date of the original medical exam. If these requirements are met, the medical exam remains valid until the date USCIS adjudicates the adjustment of status application; or

• The applicant is a K or V nonimmigrant who received a conditional waiver under section 212(g) of the Act in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V. The section 245 adjustment of status application must be filed with USCIS within 1 year of the date of the original medical exam, and the applicant must submit evidence of compliance with the specific terms and conditions imposed on the waiver. The medical exam remains valid until the date USCIS adjudicates the adjustment of status application. If these requirements have not been met, a new medical examination is required. And, if that new medical examination reveals a Class A medical condition, a new waiver application will also be required. In such cases, determine whether the applicant complied with the terms and conditions of the first waiver. That determination should be given considerable weight in the adjudication of a subsequent waiver application.

PhilippinesA Question About Visiting My Wife In the Philippines
QUOTE (ShdwKnght @ Mar 18 2008, 03:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I plan to be there for her interview, and then she will just fly here, and I will meet her at the POA. So we are looking at around $2500 -$3000 for those flights alone.

So, the basic question is: is it going to hurt us that I have not been back yet? Or, should I just bite the bullet and go? I really do miss her, and seeing her everyday on Yahoo just makes me miss her more. Believe me, I wish I could visit her on all my days off, or at least at Christmas and her birthdays.

This was posted in the CR1/IR1 forum, but it was suggested I post it here also.

hi our vj family! miss you all!

i'm checking the documents for the AOS. and when i was practicing on answering the Form I-485, i was confused on answering whether YES or NO for Part 3 Question Number 2 which asks:

2. Have you received public assistance in the US from any source, including the US government or any state, country, city or municipality (other than emergency medical treatment) or are you likely to receive public assistance in the future?

last month, we went to a municipal health center for a free vaccine of Td shot which is not available in the Philippines. i also got anti-hepa and anti-flu shots. we took all these opportunities since those are all for free. but it does not mean that we are on a low income bracket, it's just, we took the chances since it was for free.
i'm confused now on whether to answer YES or NO on that question coz it might give a big impact to our application since it might give an impression that i might become a public charge in the future.

hoping for you replies, please.

thanks and more power everyone!

God bless!

You can apply for a SS number as soon as you arrive in the US. It will have an EAD warning on it though. After you get your EAD you can return to the Social Security office and get a new card without the warning. Other VJers reccomend you go to the local office to get your SS number as you may not get one otherwise.

You can apply for an EAD only, but will pay for the EAD a second when you adjust status. The EAD is included in the $1010 fee.

As soon as you have the EAD and SSI number you are legal to work.
