PhilippinesInterview documents for K2
QUOTE (skyblue06 @ Jun 18 2008, 05:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Please I need your help to those who have undergone K2 Follow to Join interview....I don't have enough time to prepare for documents I'm gonna send for my son's interview(8 years old). Below are the things that I have with me to send, are they all set?

* DS 156
* DS 157
* I-134 - Do I still need this form? I thought was establish during my K1

* copy of married certificate
* Annulment papers
* birth certificate of me,husband, son
* 2x2 photos(kid)
* trip photos to PI/wedding photos
* my passport copy indicating admission to US

My GC is not here yet, do I still need this?
thanks!

I do not know if it's required for the K-2, when having separate interview. was the child listed on the I-134 you submited at your K-1 interview? I'd provide one to be safe, if you can.

you do not need to provide copy of your green card for K-2 interview.

Thank you very much.

Yes, I would still be in Davao the whole month of August... come to think of it, my kids has not seen actual "indak-indak sa kadalanan" (street dancing) and also floral parade yet... it might be a good idea to bring them to davao to see kadayawan first hand. (we live in a city north of davao, which is an hour ride from davao city).. thanks for giving me the idea. good.gif

we are still monitoring ticket prices but if all goes well, we will buy nwa ticket for Sept. 2 flight to Raleigh, possible POE would be detroit.

I was able to experince and enjoy Kadayawan when I was there in Aug 05. we had good seats in front of Central 911 for the street dancing.

we also watched the Float Parade on Sunday. I told my wife all the people at SM Mall reminded me of what it was like here at the malls on Christmas Eve, with people doing their last minute shopping.

True, but most of people in THIS sub forum don't use statements like " noticed that most of the thread here is just a ####### it is like gossiping !!! is it???? and " is it true filipina like gossip very much??? " .

The people at the Philippines subforum are very helpful to everyone. Just ask a question. Don't attack a culture.

i'm quite certain that when i first joined vj, i didn't have a timeline yet i didn't wait more than 30 minutes before posting.
it's the posts by the individual, not their join date or their lack of a timeline, that may indicate a person is a troll. if a troll is suspected, send a pm to one of the mods.

I don't think this a a troll. I respect that others might feel it is... back when I was going thru the process, when someone posted in the Manila Interview Embassy Thread who appeared to be a troll, we would just ignore it, and it went away... If you feel it is a troll, do not respond. then this thread will fade into the sunset, disappearing into the back pages of the forum...

17,800 x 125% x 3 years - income is the difference needed in sell-able assets. in my case was 6000.00 x 3 years = 18,000 easily obtainable from bank statements, stock account or business... problem is US embassy does not look at assets as obtainable income. Surely I could sell my 2 BMWs on top of the financials and easily accommodate this, have to push this issue which they are more than willing to push into AR prison than to deal with the matter at hand. I am going to call the DOS and bring this issue up which is not fair to the people involved in this process.

since a K Visa is technically a nonimmigrant visa, the I-134 is used for showing income. the I-134 is subjective on the use of assets. the I-864 contains specific guidelines on the use of assets. a K Visa will be going thru AOS and using the I-864. perhaps the I-134 can be modified in some way, with specific guidelines on assets for K Visas. hopefully, then others will not have to experience what you can to go thru...

Typically one gets the 10 year green card if one has applied for the IR-1 (married for 2 years or more) OR during the process one has their 2 year anniversary and sometimes the 10 year card will be sent instead. K3s don't get a GC sent to them once the visa is activated, they have to go through AOS just like a K-1.

To the OP: if you filled out your paperwork using your maiden name, the GC comes in your maiden name, unless they have made a mistake. You may have to do some work to get your card switched if you plan on using your married name now that you are in the US.

thanks... we will call tommorow and will ask them for the procedures on changing from my maiden name to my married name biggrin.gif

Do you guys know which date from the KI Fiance Visa issued is the date that we are not supposed to have expired in order to get a SSN?

We already got married and mailed our I-485 so I think that the KI-1 visa expiration date is not valid since we did get married within the 90 days, but I am confused because in our passport we have the spapled white paper that has K1 visa number and says June 16 2008 and on the other side of the booklet we have the part that says visa with his picture on it and it gives an expiration date of September 03-2008

the 09-03-2008 is the one that we are not to let get too close for our SSN card correct?

thanks so much wacko.gif

For a K1 entry, you can apply for SSN up to 76 days after entry--14 days before the I-94 expires. You are too late and will have to wait for either the EAD or GC to get SSN.

I second that!

Upon arriving to the US, the benificiary has a window of 10 - 76 days to apply for the SSN card. It takes approximately 10 days for the arrival record from the I-94 to be proccessd from the POE into the Homeland Security database. After 76 days, it is considered too close to the 90 expiration of the I-94 for processing of a SSN (for various reasons). As John has stated, it's too late after 76 days and the benificiary will have to wait for the EAD or GC to acquire a SSN.

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

p.s. John, you are the best... Hopefully all is well and good with you...

ditto good.gif once you enter at your POE, the expiration of the K-1 Visa is irrelavant. it's the expiration of the I-94 that counts.

this is nothing new. the vast majority of the time the x ray is not asked for at the POE. a few have posted they were asked for the x ray. if you want to be safe, you can hand carry it. IF the POE you are going thru, you picked up your check in bag before going thru immigration, then safe to put in your check in bag where it's easy to get to. that's what my wife did. her POE was SFO and was not asked for the x ray.
