PhilippinesThe Philippines Forum
Thanks all for the comments. good.gif The Philippines has a strong sense of family values.
. The family is the centre of the social structure and includes the nuclear family, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and honorary relations such as godparents, sponsors, and close family friends.
. People get strength and stability from their family. As such, many children have several godparents....
I'd think the same feeling can exist here in the Forum. we can have our disagreements, but be respectful of each other. It isn't about taking sides, but working together for all our common goal, being together with our SO's for a lifetime.
wishing everyone a lifetime of happiness... good.gif

PhilippinesThe Philippines Forum
In spite of some recent events, I feel the Philippine Forum is the best in VJ. I've been around since before there was a Philippine Forum. The only place we had to call our own was the Manila Embassy Interview Thread in the Foreign Embassy Forum. I think it was the success of the Manila Embassy Interview Thread that contributed to the creation of the Philippines Forum.
Since it's creation, countless members have shared their advise and experiences. we are forunate to have The Guide created by the Sheriff.
I just wanted to a big good.gif to all the members, past and present, whose contributions have made this such a successful Forum.

QUOTE (dbears @ Jun 1 2008, 09:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am on K1/K2 visa also.. the confirmation letter I presented to SLEC only had my name on it and I didn't have problem with it. They only asked me to have 3 photocopies of it: 1 for me, 1 for eachof my two kids. Had our medical May 13-16.

With USEM during interview.. they only took ONE confirmation letter from me, and it still didn't have my kids name on it, only mine.

The call center actually do not really know how the process goes, they only know what is feed on the system and they are reading from script but sometimes when they do not know the answer, they improvise answers which are not really accurate.

good.gif sounds like some misinformation has been given. the medical, which includes children, is required for a visa to be issued. I'd bring your daughter to the medical. makes no sense to tell CO at interview you were advised by call center for daughter not to have medical. that would cause delay in visa being isssued.
we also were K-1/K-2.

another thing to remember. If the SSN is in your wife's maiden name and EAD or green card is issued in married name, you first have to go to Social Security to have change SSN to married name. otherwise her name will come up no match in the system.

thanks for all your responses, i truly appreciate it. thanks again. smile.gif

What your fiance will be doing is a step-child adoption. perhaps he can call DFPS to find out what are the procedures.
I'd have him mention their is no biological father on the B/C. best of luck good.gif

as far as I'm aware, SPA is not required to take your son to the interview. a relative or guardian with proper ID can take your son to the interview. SPA would be needed if traveling outside the country without a parent. someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

for question 37, if they have no immediate relatives in the USA, you would check NO in the boxes, except on your fiancee's you would check Yes for fiance. for her son you would check NO in all the boxes.

on questions 17 & 18, perhaps someone who has had an anulled marriage, can suggest what to enter for that information.
