Ok, let's go back to my driving... Last Monday, my husband made me drive to the grocery store. I parked the car (the regular way) poorly but he said it was not so bad. He wanted me to drive home again so I did. I was so ready to do backing to pull out of the parking (with me looking over my shoulder, which is the right thing to do) when I heard my husband said "Stop, stop!". I pressed the brake so hard, looked at him and with a puzzle look on my face, I noticed that the gear was on "drive" and I was doing "reverse". blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif There was a big post in front of our car and I was 6 inches away from hitting it. Boy... did I scare David. unsure.gif Poor thing! blush.gif blush.gif

like if poverty is 20,000.00 do you need to make 25,000 or 45,000. i am getting nervous app. is the 22nd of may and I need it to be approved to be with my baby. or i will have to move to the philippines. hahahahah

thanks to all great info on here.

there really is not a right or wrong answer on question 11 of the I-134. some check do intend. I just wrote " all expenses as need. some put the example here on VJ... N/A K-1 Visa for permanent residence. do whatever you feel comfortable with...
for 2008 125% of poverty line is $17,500. If you are above that, then you should be fine good.gif

just some observations of some things I've seen recently in the Forum. what I liked this thread while I was going thru the process, was it's spirit of community. we may not have all agreed on everything, but we all had the same goals, being together with our SO's for a lifetime. It's ok if someone doesn't agree with you. don't take it personally.
there is an off topic forum in VJ for those who feel the need...
just my humble opinion....

the co sponsor will use same form I-864.
the I-864A is used when;
a household member who is not a sponsored immigrant, agrees to make his or her income and/or assets available to the sponsor to help support the immigrant for whom the sponsor has filed an affidavit of support.

The Sheriff does a great job of maintaining his guide as a source of information. Even though we have the Philippine Forum, it would be nice if there was a centralized location with a timeline. a place where members could ask questions and share experinces.
PW, your contributions were a driving force that made this thread so successful. it would be a shame to see it go.

It seems the Manila Embassy Interview Thread's time has past for maintaining a timeline or posting questions about the process. Perhaps it could serve another purpose. maybe it could be a place where members post their interview experience. perhaps it could be a place where members post how they dealt with a specific issue during the visa process.
when a member creates a thread about experiences or how they've dealt with a specific issue, it tends to get lost in the back pages after time. the member may no longer be around to give advise to to someone with a simular situation. it seems a shame when valuable information which can be helpful to others goes to waste.
what does everyone think? any ideas or suggestions?

perhaps a pinned thread could be created where a link could be posted with to thread with useful information.
good/bad idea?

Well Mir's daughter, Krrystal, is at the Embassy for her interview this morning. Her appointment was for 7:00AM. We are both sitting here nervous and anxious to hear some news from Krrystal's Lola about the results. With Mirasol already being here, I would think the only problems might be technicalities regarding documents, which can be fixed with time. It's just so nerve wrecking...especially after all the hassles at the medical last week. The medical came out okay in the end, but so many delays.

Anyone know what forms/documents are needed for the interview for a K-2 Follow-to-join at USEM?

My mother-in-law is there in the Phils and will accompany my step-daughter, but she is confused and has difficulty in figuring it all out even with the Packet 4. I thnk its confusing too as Packet 4 is designed for the K-1 and not really specific to the K-2 alone. Here's the forms/docs I am pretty sure about:

DS-156
DS-157 (with bank validation of visa fee payment)
I-134 (with associated income tax, W-2s, etc.)

Copy of our Marriage Certificate
Copy of our Divorce/Annullment papers from previous marriage
Copy of the birth cert. of me, my wife, and my step-daughter
2X2 photos
Passport

Does she need proof of meeting? Proof of support like receipts of remittance?

Any help from someone that has done this before would be much appreciated.

Scott

we didn't do follow to join, but looks good to me. NBI and other country poice certificate not needed if under 16.
I do not think you should need any evidence of prior meeting or genuine engagement. copy of your marriage certificate should be able to take of that requirement. maybe if you create a separate thread, someone who has done follow to join, and doesn't browse the Interview Thread, will be more likely to see it.

best of luck with everything good.gif

2. Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On January 30, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

With these emails, does this mean that i am now approved with no interview??? what does ADIT in email #2 mean?
