There are some old quotes that also apply here. Why old quotes? Because some things do not change over time and the old quotes tell it all.

"Two wrongs do not make a right."

"Never argue with an idiot because spectators cannot tell which is which."

"People who fight fire with fire usually end up with ashes."

based on reading the Op's previous posts in other threads back in Jan 09, she was issued k-1 Visa which expired in March 2009. the question is did she come to USA or remain in Philippines? as far as now being married to someone else, talk about a whirlwind romance whistling.gif

I met my fiance online August 2008 and He came here March 2009 and proposed. We submitted the I-129F form last May. We just got recently approved for expedite processing because he will be deploying in April 2010.

He was planning to come back here but because of his deployment he decided to just wait for me there.

I'm worried because he only went here once. Do you think could this be a problem or a reason for denial for the interview? im really worried unsure.gif

don't worry, you'll be ok. just need to show evidence of a genuine. ongoing relationship when the time comes for an interview

This thread is going on and on. I will not contribute much except that my long time wish is not fulfilled yet. What about MY WISH? The correct spelling of my dear country which is "Philippines", the women in my dear country including me "Filipinas" and the whole citizenry "Filipinos". If those three will be realized I will be happy enough. Ang babaw ko talaga, ano ba yan????

I guess my post is not relevant enough but I just post it to deviate the topic a little bit. Masyado ng madugo, I will say TAGLISH today because I think I am in the Regional Forum. Hello to all...

3) Two of her children will be accompanying her to me. They must be involved in the interview. What kind of questions will they ask the children and will they be accompanied by mom in the interview? They are nervous about the interview.

Thanks so much for any responses.

Gary

if they are applying for K-2 Visa at the same time as their mom, then they will attend interview and will need to have a medical.
the questions asked children probably will be age specific and are usually simple questions. our daughter, ten years old at the time of the interview was asked one question, " how old are you?'

here's one,

Visa Delivery

The issued visa will be delivered to the applicant's designated address by Air 21 (the Embassy's authorized courier service provider) within 7 to 10 working days. The visa delivery fee, which is determined by the courier service, is paid by the applicant. This fee to the courier service is separate from any fees paid to the U.S. Government. Applicants do not need return to the Embassy to pick up their issued visas.

You may direct visa delivery inquiries to Air21 U.S. Embassy service hotline at 879-4747 or to the U.S. Embassy page at the Air21 website http://www.air21.com.ph/

hopefully we'll get some more input.

in my situation, my wife had an aunt living in the USA, so she already realized that here, money does not grow on trees.
as far as differences in earnings, you can also explain the differences in cost of living. using this only as an example, with $1000 USD , approx 50,000 pisos, one could be living pretty well off in the Philippines. Here, your lucky if that will just pay the rent. asking for money early in the relationship could be a red flag, but as you mentioned, she has never asked you for money.
my wife just wanted to be together, whether in the Philippines, or here in the USA.
as your relationship grows, you'll get the sense if her desire is to be together with you, wherever that may be on this Earth.

Please please... I would really appreciate if you can give me all the details including step by step process you did.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,I asked one of my friend who had her daughter (K2) follow to join. She said, all you need to do is to call USEM and schedule an interview for your daughter.Does your daughter have her medical already? If yes, only thing you need to do is to set an interview appointment and have someone to fill up the forms she needs for interview.

Btw,my friend's daughter don't have the father's name on her BC and she don't know her father too and they didn't encounter a problem about it because she has the full custody, and I believe you have the full custody of your daughter too.

I'm sure everything will be fine. did you call the main Embassy phone number 63 2 301-2000 then ext 5184 or 5184, or O and ask for the Immigrant Visa Unit ?
not sure if those extensions still being used, but might try the next time you call the Embassy. I believe the reason you were told she already had interview is because the child was listed on the I-129f so would have been eligible for interview at the same time as the K-1. if you hear nothing, then I'd try calling the Immigrant Visa Unit.

PhilippinesUSC petitioning Step daughter
actually, our daughter came at the same time as her mom. we did not use follow to join. the important thing to remember is the K-2 has to be issued within one year, not just an interview scheduled. as I mentioned before, the application process for the visa is almost the same as for a k-1. I'd contact the Embassy to see what you need to do to schedule an interview.
perhaps you can start a new thread, K-2, follow to join. I'm sure there are some members in the forum who recently used follow to join at the Embassy in Manila.

Does anyone here filed the same? What are the necessary documents we will need to forward? What if the name of the father is not on her birth certificate and we don't know where he is now? My child doesn't know who her father is... How will we get a notarized consent from the father? I've read somewhere that we will need this consent.

Will they allow my 6yrs old child accompanied by someone during her interview to explain the situation if she will be given a chance to get an interview?

Any opinion will be highly appreciated. Thanks....

a K-2 Visa must be issued within one year from the issue date of the K-1. since your K-1 was issued 12-01-2008, you should still have time to apply for a K-2 for the child. you'll need to contact the Embassy to set up an interview.
the birth certificate with no father listed should be no problem. we had the same situation.
a guardian will be able to accompany your child to the medical and interview.

The Expiration on the K-1 Visa is the date you have until to enter the USA. once you enter the USA, the expiration of the K-1 Visa is irrelevant. the important date is you get married within 90 days of entering the USA, the expiration of your I-94. some file AOS after the I-94 expires, but you'll want to do it asap, so your status will be pending.

In the list of documents to be submitted for interview there is this - "OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES".
What is meant by this? In my understanding I dont have to get from my own country a Police Certificate but only IF I've been to other countries for more than 6 months.

Did anyone who went to the US embassy for interview had been asked for a Police Certificate taken from their own country? The word OTHER seems obvious but I just want to be sure. blink.gif

PhilippinesFestivals in the Philippines
thought we could use this thread to share some info about the various festivals in the Philippines. here's some info about Kadayawan, held in my wife's hometown of Davao.

It is a celebration of Good Harvest! This globally famous festival is a weeklong celebration and thanksgiving for nature’s bountiful harvest. Kadayawan Festival is being celebrated every 3rd Week of August. A celebration of the plentiful harvests of fruits and orchids during the season. Kadayawan is derived from the prehistoric word “madayaw,” a warm and friendly greeting also used to explain a thing that is valuable, superior, beautiful, good, or profitable, “Kadayawan” in Mandaya means anything that brings fortune, a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living. Ethnic tribes around Mt. Apo usually gathered during the harvest-time when they had a bountiful harvest to give thanks to their gods particularly the all-powerful Bathala (supreme God). According to legend, the occasion is noticeable by happiness, singing, and dancing, as well as offerings to their divine protectors.

T he festival is celebrated in the month of August with floats of fresh flowers and fruits, and indak-indak sa kadalanan or street dancing in colorful costumes. A variety of tribes parade the streets with their tribal costumes and jewelry. The city of Davao comes alive every year in August when it holds it yearly harvest festival. The streets are adorned with local fruit & vegetables while people hold street dances with abandon for four days. The harbour is the venue for native & power boat races. Everybody fights for seats to watch the Horse Fighting wherein stallions fight each other over the rights to mate with a mare. The crowd is sometimes tracked by the horses if they get too close. The last day the street is full of costumed dancers dancing to the local beat & decorated floats with glamorous Mindanao girls as eye candy. It's a time of fun & abandon. The festivity is not complete without the Bya'Neng ng Kadayawan or the Miss Kadayawan beauty contest. There is also the horsefight, a tribal animal show similar to the bullfight in Spain.

History

The festival began from a government-initiated program called “Unlad Proyekto Davao” in 1986, planned to unite the Davaoeños after the chaotic martial law years and to showcase the city as a peaceful and colorful place to visit and do business in. At the time, it was called “Apo Duwaling,”a name created from the icons Davao was famous for: Mt. Apo, the country's highest peak; durian, the king of fruits; and waling-waling. The queen of orchids. Davao is also home of the majestic Philippine eagle, the national bird. In 1988, the festival was renamed “Kadayawan sa Dabaw” by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to celebrate the city's unique wealth in flowers, fruits, and ethnic culture.

Today, Kadayawan has transformed into a festival of festivals, the mother of may other festivals in the region as it honors Davao’s artistic, cultural and historical heritage, its past personified by the ancestral “lumads”, its people as they celebrate on the streets, and its floral industry as they parade in full regalia in thanksgiving for the blessings granted on the city.

“Kadayawan sa Dabaw” is an enriching experience with a difference as its explores the past, present and future of the Davaoeños, the Mindanaoans, the Filipinos. Its sights and sounds remain supreme. Be part of the experience.

“Du-aw na sa Dabaw! Duyog sa Kadayawan! Maglingaw-lingaw ta!”

QUOTE (Road 2 Peace Arch @ Sep 11 2009, 10:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes, the daughter was included on the I129F that was approved. It just seems odd that someone, Vancouver or Manila would not send something to the daughter to complete (as you correctly list below) as part of this process.

QUOTE (marriedtomrg @ Sep 12 2009, 12:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Road 2 Peace Arch.

On your I-129F petition, was her daughter included on the form? Question 13 on page 2 asks her to List all children of your alien fiancé(e) (if any).

Your fiancee's daughter is considered a derivative of the I-129F petition if the daughter is listed on it. The daughter does not need a separate I-129F petition in order for her to apply for a K2 visa.

USCIS forwards your approved I-129F to NVC, then NVC assigns your fiancee a Case Number before the file is forwarded to the U.S. Embassy that your fiancee listed as the Consulate where she wants to process her application.

Since her daughter is in the Philippines, she would have to set her own interview date as well as comply with the documents checklist that your fiancee will be asked to comply with. The list can be downloaded on the US Embassy Manila Website.

You would have to provide your fiancee's daughter with her own I-134 Affidavit of Support (and supporting documents) plus a copy of the I-129F NOA2 and the letter from the NVC which will have your fiancee's NVC Case number.

Her daughter needs those documents and her own passport in order to do the medical exam.

When your fiancee is asked to complete the DS-156 form, she will be asked to name any children who will accompany her. The DS-156K will also ask your fiancee to name any children who will accompany her or who will follow her.

Your fiancee's daughter must fill out her own set of DS-156, DS-157 and DS-156K forms. She must pay her own visa fee (if she is a minor, she should have a trusted relative arranged all these things for her in coordination with her mom).

I don't think any is sent to the daughter directly even if she is included in the petition...so it is her mom's responsibility to ensure that her daughter is able to apply for the visa.

QUOTE (Road 2 Peace Arch @ Sep 12 2009, 11:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I called NVC today to check on our case. They gave me the new NVC case number and advised the documents had been sent to the Vancouver Consulate on September 8th. That was good news good.gif

When I asked about her daughter's K2 and whether that had been sent to Manila (where she lives) she said, "what's a K2 Visa, never heard of that" she then went and checked with her supervisor who also had no clue. She advised I check with USCIS.

So, my question is obvious: Is the packet 3 sent to her daugther from Manila or, really who and how is the K2 handled (NVC or USCIS)? The mother lives and works in Vancouver, BC Canada and the daughter lives in Manila. When will the daughter recieve the information?
Thanks

a k-2 does not use the DS-156k. marriedtomrg has given you alot of good info. a guardian can accompany a minor to the medical and interview. I doubt that USCIS can give you much info. the Embassy is part of the Dept of State. I would suggest calling the Embassy in Vancover to see how the situation is handled when the K-1 applicant and the K-2 applicant are residing in different countries.

Philippinesputting the package together today!!!!!
QUOTE (charlie&pam @ Sep 13 2009, 11:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am putting everything together today to get it to the California station. Just a couple of in general questions......with the passport photos is says put in a baggie and attach it to a piece of paper...should you staple the bag to it or glue it and then put it after the 325? also do you do the same thing with the pictures of us together? and would you send pictures of just us together or me with her family also? How many should i send ? Also with the declaration do I need to attach another sheet of paper when I can fit it into the box on the paper? I am going right off the list from this site which is great!!!Thanks VJr's star_smile.gif

I included some photos with my wife's family. a couple from her mom's B-day and a couple from our engagement party.
as the saying goes, a picture can be worth a thousand words.
I used a separate sheet to describe how we meet. no need to go into great detail, just briefly describe your visit to your fiance. I think I ended it with something like.. "now we are looking forward to spending the rest of our life's together..."

PhilippinesWestern Union Receipt?
QUOTE (ErosandSally @ Aug 2 2009, 12:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We are getting a little bit paranoid here....

those receipt was exactly what i shown for evidence for the initial I-129f filing plus phone logs and some picture and regular mail(very little) + receipts from trips there and it was approved, it will be same for the Embassy interview in approximate a month from now.
I doubt it will raise a red flag....i think there are OTHER issues that will raise a red flag like not remembering the day or moment of the engagement, not knowing particulars about you fiance such family, kids, divorce, job etc,etc

But in the end...do what you feel comfortable with and be calm and prepared for the interview...

Best wishes....

hi pls I need confirmation on the following:

1. How long does an actual K2 VISA good for (before it expires)? not K1 but K2..

2. How long is the medical good for? My K2 kids already passed their medical but they will follow to join.

1. If your kids will be follow to join, the K-2 Visa has to be issued within one year of the K-1. once issued, the K-2 Visa is valid for 6 months.
2. I believe the medical is valid for one year.

oops sorry, for visa interview purposes, 6 months. link to US Embassy website. http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3218.html

PhilippinesManila is underwater right now!
40 dead after flooding in northern Philippines
AP

By OLIVER TEVES, Associated Press Writer Oliver Teves, Associated Press Writer – 2 hrs 53 mins ago

MANILA, Philippines – More than a month's worth of rain fell in just 12 hours Saturday as Tropical Storm Ketsana slammed ashore in the Philippines, killing at least 40 people and stranding thousands on rooftops in the capital's worst flooding in more than 42 years.

The government declared a "state of calamity" in metropolitan Manila and 25 storm-hit provinces, said Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, who heads the National Disaster Coordinating Council. That allows officials to withdraw emergency money for relief and rescue.

A landslide and flash flooding in nearby Rizal province killed 35 people, said provincial government spokesman Tony Mateo. Most of the fatalities in Rizal drowned, said Loel Malonzo, chairman of the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council.

Three people were also reported killed in Manila's southern suburb of Muntinglupa and two others in Quezon city, said Anthony Golez, deputy presidential spokesman and acting head of the Office of Civil Defense.

Malonzo said that those who died did not live near creeks and were unaccustomed to flooding. "It has been about 40 years since something like this has happened here and many who migrated to the province were unfamiliar with the flooding," Malonzo said.

Mateo said that 27 people were missing.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had to take an elevated commuter train to the disaster council office to preside over a meeting because roads were clogged by vehicles stuck in the floodwaters.

The mayor of Cainta, also in Rizal, who was stranded atop a dump truck on a road that was neck-deep in water, told ABS-CBN television by phone that many residents climbed onto roofs to escape.

"The whole town is almost 100 percent underwater," Mayor Mon Ilagan said.

About 16.7 inches (42.4 centimeters) of rain fell on metropolitan Manila in just 12 hours on Saturday, exceeding the 15.4-inch (39.2-centimeter) average for September, said chief government weather forecaster Nathaniel Cruz. The rainfall on Saturday also broke the previous record of 13.2 inches (33.4 centimeters), which fell during a 24-hour period in June 1967, he said.

"However good your drainage system is, it will be overwhelmed by that amount of rainfall," he told The Associated Press.

He said poor maintenance of drains and waterways clogged with garbage compounded the problem.

ABS-CBN television showed a dramatic video of more than a dozen people perched on roofs of damaged houses being swept away by the suburban Marikina River. They smashed against the pillars of a bridge and were separated from each other in the rampaging river. It was unclear whether they were rescued.

Cruz said seasonal monsoon rains were intensified by Ketsana, which packed winds of 53 mph (85 kph) with gusts of up to 63 mph (100 kph) when it hit land early Saturday. By the evening, the storm maintained its strength as it moved over the coast of western Zambales province and headed west toward the South China Sea.

Stranded residents called radio and television stations for help.

Popular actress Cristine Reyes tearfully appealed on ABS-CBN television from the roof of her two-story home, saying she and her mother and two young children had been waiting there for rescue for over six hours.

"If the rains do not stop, the water will reach the roof. We do not know what to do. My mother doesn't know how to swim," she said.

Manila airport operations chief Octavio Lina said the runway had been flooded, delaying international flights for hours. Floodwaters also caused some electrical outages.

Hundreds of vehicles were stalled in flooded streets around the capital, and nearly 2,000 passengers were stranded in ports in several provinces south of Manila after the coast guard suspended ferry operations.

The rains also caused the water in two dams near Manila to overflow, the national disaster agency said. It said water was waist-deep in some communities in northern Bulacan province near one dam.

Power distributor Meralco cut off electric service to some flooded areas in metropolitan Manila to prevent accidents, spokesman Joel Zaldarriaga said.

PhilippinesThis flood shows the differences between poor filipinos and poor americans
QUOTE (George&Hazel @ Sep 29 2009, 11:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Wow just wow. People that use natural tragedies to further their political views are a bunch of ignorant followers. There are videos of Filipinos floating around youtube laughing at someone stuck on the top of a car during the storm. That does not mean every Filipino is is cold and jaded though.

You want a generalization that is true? The ones of you spouting this nonsense listen to Rush Limbaugh, and or Glenn Beck. I truly feel for your wives. If the stereotypes about their listeners are true. You guys are a bunch of racist hate mongers. Bob hate to break this to you, but your inability to finish the simplest most rudimentary form of education does speak volumes about you. It shows you have no foresight in your life. You have cheated yourself and family of a better life, and future.

This entire debate is saddening and sickening. There is another storm due to hit at the end of this week, and some of you believe spouting political nonsense like a parrot is more important. You guys are sickening. You are a disgrace for the good people in the USA, and the Philippines.

you could have made your point without the insults... wink.gif
