PhilippinesHow can anything so stinky possibly taste so good?

They told me in Vietnam that it was banned from hotels and public places AFTER I tried it.. . I just thought maybe once you got past the smell it would taste good. I was sweet I'll give it that, but in a dead body kinda way

that's what my wife told me. it didn't quite turn out that way...

PhilippinesHow can anything so stinky possibly taste so good?

When I went to both the Philippines and Vietnam I tried absolutely everything. I can honestly say I loved just about everything. There were a few things I didn't care for so much but there was ONE thing I can't handle...durian. It smells like a cantaloupe that's been sitting in a dumpster in Southern Arizona for 2 weeks and tastes about the same. The smell from the bite I took instantly saturated my sinuses and I could smell that ####### for a week!! Yuckkk!!

good description..

PhilippinesNeed to fill out new form?

- OKay HI everyone! Me and my american bf for year and half met last MAy- and went to other asian country for a trip. We were discussing 'bout K1 visa, and so that is our plan. That he will file for ME. Now, when we met- he had that form I-129F. And I filled out 2 forms. And also we had pics passport size each.. His plan was to file petition ahead once he got back to USA... But due to some personal matters that he was dealing there in USA.. Until now he didn't file, His plan will be nxt month or Sept.. My question is what will happen to the form that I filled out w/ all my info's.. ? When he is goin to file, nxt month or so, am I gonna fill out new form? The truth is just by reading all 'bout facts of K1- for me is kinda hard to digest. Pls tell me what are those things usually do by a person whom being petition by someone else... Thank you. Very much. By the way I am new here... and I really want this VJ site be part of me and my american bf's journey.

if you are referring to the G-325a, don't worry the one you've filled out will be fine

Philippinestermination of previous marriage
if I remember the Family code right. with presumptive death, subsequent marriages will be declared void if the proir spouse reappears. maybe should contact an immigration attorney who is familar with the process in Manila.

Philippinestermination of previous marriage
I guess the question is will presumptive death documents be accepted by the Embassy in place of annulment or death certificate.

I've seen this issue in the past. I do not remember the outcome.

I think that Kiddy is worried about her marriage, otherwise she wouldn't have started this thread. the fact remains she needs to AOS asap.
just to add my two cents. it seems your husband loves his step daughter as his own. I'm sure you want the same thing for your son.

oh i dont know that
i thought my status here is ok & my son coz were married b4 the 90days xpired
but the papers now is ready except the I-864
so we get trouble this if ever we send our papers coz my I-194 was xpired on May 3, 2010 ?
tnx very much for sharing ideas ....
i realy appreciate

means my son & me 50 50 now here ?
theres a possible one of this days im deported ?
tnx very much for the ideas

you should be ok, but it's best to file the I-485's for you and your son as soon as possible. once you file and the applications are accepted by USCIS, you and your son's status will be pending while the applications are being processed.

PhilippinesI want to Divorce my Husband & back to Phils.

Our marriage is not legal its because im not yet process the AOS ?

your marriage is legal, but you are now out of status. when you arrived in Feb, you were given a I-94 which expired after 90 days. you've fullfilled the requirement of your
K-1 Visa by marrying within 90 days, but now you need to adjust status.

it's unfortunate you have alot of issues to deal with right now, but you will be out of status until you file for AOS.

PhilippinesIt's Finally Done

Just want to let my fellow VJ Supporters know that Olive gets here tomorrow (8/18). She is at Manila right now ready to board her flight to Tokyo. She will arrive at PDX tomorrow (8/18) morning.

This has been a long and hard journey but this part of our journey is over and on Sept 4 we will be getting married. (F)

As just a little side note this is the best birthday gift I have or ever will receive...Thursday is my birthday and Olive will be here to help me celebrate.

PhilippinesFiancee's kid
the child will keep the same last name he has now. Did you list the son on the I-129f? if so, he would be eligle for a K-2 visa. the child can come at the same time as the mom or follow to join. if you choose follow to join, remember that the K-2 has to be issued within one year of the K-1 Visa, otherwise you will need to file a I-130 petition for the child.

Philippinesmedical exam with daughter

so the k2 visa will not go with me for medical and interview?.. when they schedule me for that?...

your daughter would go with you to the medical and interview, if she is applying for Visa at the same time. if you choose follow to join, you'll need to contact the Embassy when you want to schedule an interview.

Philippinesmedical exam with daughter

me and my fiancee decided to put my daughter on the form 'follow to join'.. shes not travelling with me going to u.s, she just follow after a year.. When USEM send me a schedule for interview and medical.. Is it my daughter go with me for medical and interview?..

if you are planning on using a K-2 Visa for your daughter, remember it has to be issued within one year from the date your K-1 is issued.

as others have stated, you should be able to get your SSN. However, the Temporary EAD Stamp from JFK does not authorize you to work. you need to wait for your EAD or Green Card. see form I-9, List of Acceptable Documents. http://www.uscis.gov...es/form/i-9.pdf

PhilippinesK-2 question
you've listed the child in the I-129f petition, which is the first step. when applying for the visas you have two choices.

1. the child can apply for a K-2 Visa at the same time as the mom applies for a K-1 Visa.
2. if you choose follow to join, the K-2 visa has to be issued within one year from the date the K-1 Visa is issued.

the procedures for applying for the visas are basically the same, except the K-2 does not need the DS-156k.

She has a nice job in Dubai. She is very smart and professional. Sometimes I wonder why she wants to come to USA? she has so many friends and her job is pretty good.

with us, it wasn't about my wife wanting to come live in the USA, it was about being together. my wife would have been just as happy, maybe even happier, if I had gone to live in the Philippines.

PhilippinesHeartbroken and deceived---need help/advice
when the time is right, hopefully can forgive, for peace within yourself. to quote Dr. Lewis Smedes...

"I worry about fast forgivers. They tend to forgive quickly in order to avoid their pain. Or they forgive fast in order to get an advantage over the people they forgive. And their instant forgiving only makes things worse...People who have been wronged badly and wounded deeply should give themselves time and space before they forgive...There is a right moment to forgive. We cannot predict it in advance; we can only get ourselves ready for it when it arrives...Don't do it quickly, but don't wait too long...If we wait too long to forgive, our rage settles in and claims squatter's rights to our souls."

PhilippinesCan my fiancee bring her daughter on K1 visa?
as others have stated, the child may come at the same time as the mom or follow to join. based on my experince, overall the process will be simpler and less expensive if the child applys for the visa and comes here at the same time as the mom. also the time spent apart, if you choose follow to join, is time that can never be replaced.

PhilippinesDS-160

The Manila Philippines Embassy site on the link below, under Application Process, 2. Required Documents: specifically states that “All applicants must complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application”

Link to information about Required Documents:

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv1.html#1

that web page does seem cause some confusion. might be helpful if they added this...

Although the K visas are described as nonimmigrant visas, these visas are processed at the Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Manila. Please view the Immigrant Visas pages of this website for more details.

^^^The U.S. Embassy Manila does not use the DS-160 for K-1erz.
