Philippinesnew procedure?

I just want to add. The DS-160 confirmation( with your photo attached and confirmation number (Barcode) is needed. I am not sure(during the interview or medical). I am positive about it as I went through on my files again.

 the DS-160 is not required for either the medical or interview. you may have completed it, but it is not needed. the DS-156 also has a barcode.

best of luck with your AOS.

Philippinesnew procedure?

Hi just want to share my experience with you. To answer your questions

1. They only need the first page, don't worry about the second page.

2.on the day of your interview you will present your interview appointment plus your packet 3.

3.yes you need the letter (1 page) from the US embassy to be able to have your medical exam

4. yes you need the DS160 on your interview date plus your packet 3.
Good luck Kabayan. I had my interview September last year.

the DS-160 is not needed in Manila.

The DS-160 is NOT used in Manila. DS Forms used in Manila are DS-156 two copies, DS-157 two copies and DS-156K one copy.

PhilippinesCFO an Important Requirement

We also have had members in the past who never did CFO and it wasn't checked at the airport...........CFO is a scam, just like departure Tax they charge at Manila 750 peso or $17.50.

so, would you recommend someone try it to save about $15?

PhilippinesCFO an Important Requirement

Im pretty sure I read on this forum that everyone including children would require to have a CFO sticker attached to the visa/passport before they are allowed to depart MNL.
I think it said cuz the child is only 2 years old she doesn't need to actually go thru the seminar but is required to pay the fee 650p and obtain the sticker.
My fiancee actually already went thru the CFO seminar before her interview but Im not sure if they actually attached a sticker to her passport or she would need to go back after the interview and get the sticker.
I would have told her to get the CFO for the child at the same time but she wasn't sure if she wanted to bring the child or to follow later.

maximus...You bring up a good question...even though the child isn't required to complete the CFO seminar, is the child still required to have a CFO sticker in their passport. I hope someone will come along and answer that question.

The CFO won't issue your wife a sticker unless she has her visa. Your wife needs to get the CFO sticker after her interview when the Embassy sends her passport (with visa) back to her.

the child is required to register with CFO and have the sticker in the passport. like the mom, this would be done when visa is in the passport. the fee to register only is 400p.

PhilippinesCFO an Important Requirement
from time to time I've noticed some members are unaware of the requirement of the Philippine Govt. that fiances and spouses of Foreign Nationals are required to attend the seminar and have the sticker in their passport to depart the Philippines. I thought it may be an idea for someone to create a thread which would outline the process and maybe we could get it pinned. so, anyone want to get the ball rolling?

really, then why do you keep asking one member what they know about divorce in the Philippines? it has nothing to do with the reply they gave to the OP.

PhilippinesQuestion about interview question

Possibly it is more of the case that they want to know that you know your fiance so they ask a question that fiance or spouse should know if everyone was truthful in the relationship. I don't think the actual number has any real bearing on the process.

How much do you know about divorce in Philippines?

what does divorce in the Philippines have to do with the reply given to the OP?

Every Time I buy a cell phone in PI, it don't work in USA, I think they are on a different signal or wave.

You can take a USA phone to PI and get it unlocked over there or have it unlocked in USA and you will be fine....

Best way to send electronics, phones, etc is via Balikayan Box, No customs and duties....

Our packet is currently in transit from NVC to Manila. Does anyone know when we are able to schedule the interview? Do we have to wait until she gets a letter in the postal mail or can we call the embassy and make the appointment as soon as the packet arrives in Manila. Any info you pass along would be appreciated.

From what I hear 1 of the big advantages is they pre-interview and walk the beneficiary through all the paperwork, medical and interview. I think some classes or lessons. They bus a bunch of the girls together to Manila. And I believe some preferred expedited appt for Interviews. Im not positive on all this, but its what my friend told me.

Hey,

My fiance is filling out the forms, and she was wondering is it ok to estimate dates of starting college if she can't remember? She tried calling the embassy to see if they can advise her what to write but they don't. So is ok to estimate or would she need to know the exact date?

an approximate date should be ok. I don't think that question is on the DS-156. I believe it is on the DS-157.

PhilippinesNo vise fee
it's correct.
? If you are eligible for a K1 or K2 visa, your passport with the approved visa will be delivered to your designated delivery address at no additional cost. The Embassy uses a guaranteed courier service to handle visa deliveries. 2GO commercial courier is the new Embassy's authorized courier service provider for the visa units. Delivery should be within two weeks from your visa issuance. Applicants also have the option to pick up the visas at any 2GO branch.

PhilippinesRelationship soon to end

If you are divorced in the U.S. and then you go live in 'Pinas, you will either need to get a judicial recognition of your divorce or an annulment...depending on who filed for the divorce. You would get your annulment or judicial recognition of divorce in 'Pinas.

You can not do it through the Philippine Consulate in the U.S. If you are planning to stay in the U.S. and get married again some day, you will not need to get an annulment in 'Pinas nor will you need to get your divorce judicially recognized in 'Pinas. You simply get married again here.

This is my understanding of the issue.

 if she filed for divorce, annulment. if the husband filed for divoce, judicial recognition of foreign divorce.

Well I'm just curious because it does just say if the petitioner is self employed to send tax transcripts. I am sending one from 2007 because I didn't work in 08-09 because of school. I do have copies of my w2 in turbo tax. Don't know if that is good enough for the w2. But I don't think I have enough time to get the w2 from the IRS because I read that it takes about 60 days to get to me.

just as a point of clarification, the W-2 is not from the IRS, you receive it from your employer. it doesn't take 60 days to recieve a tax transcript from the IRS, I believe it's 2 weeks or less. http://www.irs.gov/i...=232168,00.html
