Philippineswhich ds forms does my fiance fill out?
the DS-156 is the one you need to do online since it will generate a bar code. you print it and bring it to the interview. no information is submitted to the Embassy, doing it online just generates the bar code. you can also fill in the others online and print them.

Philippinesthings for K-1 interview
the US Embassy Manila does not use the terms packet 3 and Packet 4. where you see IV on the website, it's referring to Immigrant Visa. this seems to cause confusion at times since many Embassy still do use the term packet 4. use the link provided by Gerge and Gina for k-1 visa.

not having a father on the birth certificate will not be a problem. as far as adoption, after she is in the US, you can check what the requiremnts are for a step parent adoption in your State.

PhilippinesQuestion about entering USA on K1-Visa

well i know, hard to belived but I was also asked about the maiden name of my hubbys mom. Strange but better be prepare right. I guess, theyv been asking about it because when I get the sticker for my passport, I saw it on their database. You all have to be aware, im a filipina and most of us are not aware that the middle name of our hubby is not the last name of their mom which is automatic in the Philippines, our middlename is the last name of our mother. I remember my husband felt bad about this CFO because I share to him my experience and what are the things they told us...maybe for those who had their CFO seminar you could also share your CFO experience because mine isnt that so good.

this is a common question at CFO Seminar.

PhilippinesApplying for Online Interview with K1/K2 Visa

I'm not sure what warning you are referring to. There is no reason you can't schedule the K1 visa interview online. In fact, if you want to schedule without waiting for the welcome letter, this is how you have to do it, unless you lie to them on the phone and say you already received the welcome letter even though you have not. I have read many posts on VJ saying how to do this online for K1 visa.

This is what I did:
1. Go to this website: http://www.ustraveldocs.com//
2. Select the Philippines for the Country pull-down menu.
3. Do not go to the non-immigrant section. Instead, go to the "Immigrant Visas" section and click on "Applying for an Immigration Visa Appointment".
4. From the Immigrant Visa Appointment page, do not click on "Schedule an Appointment". Instead, look further down and click on "K-Visa Appointment Scheduling".
5. From this page, you enter your passport number, case number, payment date, birthdate, and create a password.
6. The next page asks for passport issuance date and experiation date. It also asks for the address to send your passport to after receiving visa. You need to know City, State/Province, and ZIPCODE.
7. After entering the required info, your name goes to a list and your asked if you want to add another applicant. If including a child with K2, select yes.
8. Go through the same process again entering in the information for the child.
9. Here's the tricky part. If something goes wrong and you exit the site but you haven't created the schedule yet, you can't start over again the same way. After the payment date with passport number has been used once, you can't use it again. Instead, you have to go back to the "Applying for an Immigration Visa Appointment" page again. This time you do select the "Schedule an Appointment" link and not the "K-Visa Appointment Scheduling" link. From here, you can re-enter the beneficieries info and add other applicants for the K2 children.
10. After all applicants are entered, you select them all with the check boxes, and select to set an appointment. Make sure all applicants are selected.
11. Now you just select the date you want and the time. It sets all applicants the same.
12. Last, you can download a PDF file for the appointment letters for each applicant.

That's what I did, and it seems to have worked.

I guess the answer to my question about the child going to the interview is a YES??

-James

at the bottom of the Application Validation page it says...

Warning! The category you have selected is intended for returning residents/SB-1 visa applicants only. If you do not belong to this category, please do not use this category to schedule an appointment. If you do so, and you are not a returning resident/SB-1 visa applicant, you will not be interviewed, even if you present yourself at the Embassy on the scheduled date. Consequently, you will need to book another appointment under the proper category.

your right that it's not a required document, but still is a good idea. it shows continued intention of getting married. many choose to include it as part the the evidence of their relationship.

from packet...

k. EVIDENCE OF A GENUINE ENGAGEMENT. You must be prepared to show documents that you have a genuine relationship with your petitioner and a clear intention to marry. Letters, e-mails, phone records, bank records, photographs, or other evidence of a genuine fiancé(e) relationship should be submitted.

PhilippinesK-1 Petition - PI - beneficiary previously married...[edited title]

I don't quite understand the question. Did you not get an annulment? Or did you not get a CENOMAR?

The thing I'm not quite sure about is if the PI government recognizes foreign divorces. If they do, she'll be able to get a CENOMAR. If they don't she'll have to get an annulment before they'll give her a CENOMAR.

But I am quite certain that the consulate will want to see a CENOMAR either way, when they interview someone for a fiancee visa, and it could be quite problematic if you don't have one.

they do if it was initiated by the foreign spouse. the Filipino Spouse would then need to obtain a Judicial Recognition of Foreign Divorce.
sunandmoonMalePhilippines2011-03-23 10:53:00
PhilippinesK-1 Petition - PI - beneficiary previously married...[edited title]

I should clarify here:

It's the PI beneficiary, male or female, who needs to have the CENOMAR.

The US consulate should, I think, accept the US citizen's word that they are legally free to marry [just as US consulates everywhere else do], and the PI government wouldn't care about the US citizen's marital history unless the wedding were to occur in the PI, and perhaps not even then.

to get married in the Philippines, a US Citizen has to go to the US Embassy to obtain an Affidavit in lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage.

from the appointment instructions...

? If you are eligible for a K1 or K2 visa, your passport with the approved visa will be delivered to your designated delivery address at no additional cost. The Embassy uses a guaranteed courier service to handle visa deliveries. 2GO commercial courier is the new Embassy's authorized courier service provider for the visa units. Delivery should be within two weeks from your visa issuance. Applicants also have the option to pick up the visas at any 2GO branch.
