PhilippinesDS 157 FORM
the bank will validate one form and give a receipt. I've heard they usually validate a blank one from the bank. I read some just attach it to the 2 forms they've filled out. my wife filled out the validated form from the bank. either way, you should be good to go...

Thanks... By the way, what is form DS 158? I didnt see that?

The DS-158 is not used for K Visas in Manila. it was used for other types of nonimmigrant visas

PhilippinesConfused... DS 230 & DS 160
as others have ststed, the DS-160 and DS-230 is not needed when applying for a K-1. here is a link to the K-1 Visa Interview Preparation Instructions on the Embassy website. http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3224.html

Philippinesinterview process

Started at 4 am this morning. Left at 4:50 am. Walked to embassy, arrived at 5:15 am. Walked past embassy gate 1 to embassy gate 2. Went to waiting area which is at south end of embassy area. This is where the crossover bridge is at at he south part of the embassy. Wait towards the road, not towards the back part by manila bay. It will place you farther back in line. Wait up by the bridge area.

You will be lined up in rows according to time. Expect to wait after lines set up. Make sure you are in the right line for your time and purpose.

then you go through "tent check". this is where her parents were denied access.

congrats on the approval. looks like the parents were not required to be present at the interview.

3) also if you fiance is under 21, the parents must be present for medical AND embassy interview.

Congrats on the sweet and smooth approval! Let us know how the rest of your journey goes. Darren, or anyone else, these forms were needed? ds-156, ds-156k, ds-157. I didn't read these are required in the interview process. What are they?

yes, they are needed. they are visa application forms. you submit them when you go to the interview.

PhilippinesIs my relationship hopeless??????

Here's a key issue when it comes to immigration::

It raises questions. For example, how could she have been legally married in Singapore without applying for a marriage license and signing it?

I would think she must have signed a marriage license. how else could the German husband have had a copy of the marriage certificate to report the marriage....

If i failed to notify NVC that i'm turning 21, will that make me eligible for CSPA? please help.

I think our case is "hopeless" and we'll be F2B. and it will be a much longer process.

anyway, his point is, he wants to know what will happen to his case now that he's turning 21. thanks!

it depends on his priority date and petition approval date if petitioning parent is an LPR.

http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD

if the petitoning parent has become naturalized citizen before child turned 21, his age would be frozen on his priority date.

PhilippinesK1 visa fee gone up in September?

Yeah my math was way off this morning. ;) Still going to look for an answer on why the price difference between 2 paid at the same time though...and why BPI is saying "k1 visa fees have gone up in September".

the visa apllication fee for the K-1 Visa and the K-2 Visa should be the same amount.

Philippinestrying to be upbeat

Ok, let's be clear here

2) I try no to be a "kow-it-all" I still have a lot to learn. there is a lot I do not know. However, I am not one of those "can't do people". I like to say it will be done, and get it done.

ok, here's a place to start. stop using capital letters on words you want to emphasize. it gives the impression you're trying to come across as a "know it all". sometimes you do it even when giving information which turns out to be incorrect. in your St Luke's Discussion thread you seem shocked and surprised that you could not go inside St. Luke's, yet in one of your previuos threads you acknowledged the fact you might not be able to go inside of St Luke's. In your email you come across as an arrogant " Ugly American". What was your response, you have optic aptrophy and left your glasses in the USA. maybe if you had just admitted you made a mistake, you overacted, you lost your cool due to the pressures of the upcoming week or whatever, you could have nipped in the bud some of the comments members posted in the thread.
anyways, hope the rest of your time in the Philippines is a pleasant one...

I assume it's your tight schedule as the reason for doing the medical two days before the interview. even if things go smoothly, medical results may not be at the Embassy for the interview, causing a delay of a couple of days for the visa approval. hope everything works out for you.

PhilippinesCFO w/o passport

My Mom have an interview shedule this coming March 14 and my mom is from Davao so we are planning that shes gonna attend the CFO Seminar after her interview before she flys back to Davao.

My Questions are;

1.Is it allowed to attend the seminar even without passport?
2.What day and time they are open?
3.How much it cost?
4.What are the requirements to attend the CFO?

Thank you.....

according to CFO Webite, passport is needed. if your mom is over 60 years old, she doesn't have to take the seminar, but still needs to register.

Philippinesk2 follow to join
th

Your daughter has I think just a year to follow. If you were granted a K1 visa Oct 2010, she has until Oct 2011 to follow.

 the k-2 Visa has to be issued within one year from date the k-1 was issued. the visa application procedure is basically the same as for K-1 Visa. If your ready now for the child to follow to join, I'd contact the Embassy's Immigrant Visa Unit when it reopens March 9th to ask the procedure for follow to join. the child will need a medical and have an interview for the Visa. if your not at the interview, a guardian can take the child to the interview. for the interview, the child will need passport, birth certificate, DS Forms 156 and 157, but not the ds 156k. also will need I-134 Affidavit of Support.

PhilippinesFiancee change of address

What if she is moving from another country to her mother land. Will that applies? I think my fiancee wants to go back home. So we are wondering if we should let USCIS knows now or what.

I would think you will need to report the change of address since on the I-129f, you entered the Embassy where your fiancee will be applying for the visa. not sure if it's best to report the change to USCIS before receiving NOA2, or after to NVC.

Ok, finally, I called NVC today and they said my case got forwarded to USEManila today. I still don't have a letter with the MNL# yet, just in an email but nothing that says it was forwarded. Will I receive this letter or can I send the email to my fiance so she can take medical exam?
