PhilippinesWho does the scheduling of appointment (K1 Visa)?

The only "packet 3" you will receive is a letter stating that you are eligible to schedule a visa interview. It will give you the numbers to call to book the appointment (632 982 5555). If you have your case number and passport, you or your petitioner can call to make the appointment. Also possible to book online at http://www.ustraveldocs.com.ph.

The letter will also direct you to the website http://Manila.usemba.../wwwh3238.html. This will be your main checklist of all the requirements necessary to prepare for the interview, including information on the medical, and links to the various DS forms you will need to fill up.

None of these requirements should be sent to the USEM ahead of time. Instead you bring them all with you on your interview date, except for the results of your medical, which St. Luke's will send directly themselves.

In short you're good to go. No need to wait for the letter but that's up to you.

Good luck.

I couldn't get the link to work. here's another one to webpage with a link to K- Visa Interview preparation instructions.

PhilippinesEWTN

Hello VJers,

Sometimes at work, I like to listen to EWTN to listen to their catholic programming.

They have all sort of programming. I like the talk show where psychologies try to help callers from a catholic point of view.

A caller called yesterday and I like to know if the caller uses this forum. Why am I asking this question? His introduction was "Hello this is John, I have a wonderful fiancee from the PI. Soon she will be coming to USA ..then he continues by saying my problem is ......."

Funny how my threads are twisted. I asked a question about a caller and most posts are to bash me.

ok. with the number of K-1's going thru Manila, it's highly doubtful that he posts on this forum. now that your question has been given a reply, is there any reason for this thread to continue?

thanks Tahoma for your comments.

Steve&Fe, about your accusation about me. I want to commend you for your speed reading skills, having read my 6 year posting history on VJ. you say I've offered little information of help to anyone. In the time on been on VJ, if the information or advise I've offered has been of help to even one member, it was been worth it. VJ has been a great help to me from filing of the 129f thru ROC. I've tried to give back.
best of luck to all on their visa journey and beyond...

PhilippinesWhy do you want to bring your spouse to the USA?

Ok fine...I'm on this forum for a brief time to assist myself and my Wife in obtaining a Visa..once that's complete, we'll live our lives and probably never return to VJ. In the mean time , we are grateful for the help we receive here.
You, on the other hand have trolled this site for 6 years..and in looking at your previous posts..offering little information of help to anyone (in my opinion of course..others may disagree, no problem). I do know..the few times your quoted me its been in a negative manner..I LIVE here and I think I have a little better clue on whats going on. I don't know your situation nor do I care. But I do know that the MAJORITY of the VJ'ers have only visited the PI for a brief time..AND.. I MIGHT be able to offer them information to save their life. The PI is not main street USA! And with that....I'm out of this thread. (although it's a very thought provoking thread and I've enjoyed it..Thanks Adan and Thet ).

If my posts were worded in a way you felt I was attacking you, I apologize, that was not my intent. I only remember one other time responding to one of your posts in another thread , and from your replies to me in this thread, it seems your doing it again. as far as your accusation, you seem to be holding a grudge.
anyways, wish you the best of luck on the remainder of your visa journey...

We just dialed 112 and got a recording..which gave us various numbers of little value...BUT sunandmoon stated hes BEEN to a 911 call center...SO where is it?

Yes, I have BEEN to a 911 call center. is it nationwide? no. where is it? Davao City

Please READ Markieboys post. If you would have stated Davao and their LOCAL 911 services we could have had a civil discussion. But you chose to attack me and call me a liar with your trolling. The POINT was THERE IS NO SINGULAR NUMBER A PERSON CAN USE HERE TO ENSURE HELP IS ON THE WAY!!! My Asawa's grandfather died in an ambulance sitting in Manila traffic! Just a driver....TO MY knowledge EMTs do not exist in most ambulances. Your odds of surviving a serious medical emergency here are VERY SLIM!!!! Educate yourself.

I did not attack you or call you a liar...

Hasty generalization. Dad had a heart attack in PI. He's fine. My brother was in a car accident a few years ago. He's fine too. Can happen to anyone, anywhere and you wont surely die just coz it happened in the Philippines.

Where? Nation wide? EMTs on an ambulance? My Asawa just dialed 911 and number does not exist. I'm in Olongapo. Educate me because I googled it to make sure and NO 911 in PI.

Yup..I'm on 13A and I could work here if I wanted ..but working 6 days a week..10-12 hours a day for $200-300 a month just isn't that appealing...and that's if you can find a job competing with thousands of college educated Filipinos working in Jollibee or SM department store. I really wanted to post to this thread earlier but then I saw the OP appears to be very young...I WONDER where he's from to be tazzed and abused by the local US law enforcement while haveing his rights stripped away buying a beer. Not meant as a flame but does the words 'Third World Country' mean anything? Btw, IF you have a medical emergengy in the PI (Heart attack, major auto accident, etc) you WILL die. There's NO 911 and NO EMTs here and the ambulance has to sit in traffic like everyone else (if you can get one)!

you shouldn't have capitalized the NO. you are incorrect. I've been to a 911 call center and I know some EMTs.

PhilippinesInterview duration

Why would looking at the papers matter? Some people are nervous about whether any papers were forgotten, or worrying about what order they are in so that they can be presented right away when asked for, etc.

I was there in 2000, and I didn't get the sense that anyone was watching us in the waiting area. I suppose they could have been, but there's also the issue that they wouldn't know who to watch until they were called up for the interview. I also didn't see too many Filipinas interacting with each other and sharing photos, etc. Most were sitting there looking nervous and not saying much. But, that was 11 years ago... I suppose things can change, and I'm also not aware if they remodeled the embassy at all to make it easier to observe people.

And I agree, the interview was about 5 minutes. I was there and went up to the window with her when called; he asked if I'm the fiance. I answered yes, then he asked me to just sit down in the waiting area and wait. That was the only interaction I had with them. (But, there's nothing to keep them from deciding to ask me stuff since I'm there, should they feel the need.)

I'm sure they have security cameras in the waiting area, but doubt they monitor and analyze each applicant's every move. I think the comment was streaching things a bit too far.

PhilippinesReceived I-864 Checklist

Hi everybody,

I received a checklist the other day regarding the I-864 for my parents. I am the petitioner and I have zero income for the whole year of 2010. My wife and I filed jointly in 2010. All of the 105K in that year is her income. In Part 25 of my I-864, I indicated $0.00 as income in 2010 and my wife indicated 105K as income for 2010 in her I-864A.

The checklist states:

"Part 6 Sponsor's Income and Employment
[x] {MY NAME}'s income indicated on the I-864 Part 25 does not correspond to that shown
on the most recent tax return and W-2(s).

I called NVC and an operator suggested that I should send a letter explaining that I did not have income in 2010 and the amount indicated in the submitted ITR is all my wife's. Not convinced, I hang up the phone and called again. This time another operator told me that I should have indicated 105K in Part 25 instead of zero. Now confused, I asked for the Supervisor. She told me that she will request for the file and re-evaluate it. Now I am waiting.

If we have a similar case, what did you do in your case?

from my understanding of the I-864, in part 25 you would enter the gross income of your Federal Tax Return. since you filed a joint return, it would be your combined income. you should enter 105k. it doesn't matter if you had no income. in question 24a you entered your zero for your income, 24b 105k for your wife's income. 25c 105k for household income. you mentioned you submitted a I-864a, which is required when using a household members income.

someone correct me if this information is incorrect.

PhilippinesCFO REQUIREMENT

May fiancee and I have been together for almost 6 years now. She has been my long time partner even before we immigrated in the US. Question: Does she really have to do the counseling? I remember going to the seminar, but for immigrants going to the US. I grew up in PI and moved here when I was 19. Oh well, as for now, her petition was already approved and we're still waiting for the NVC to receive our case. Cheers and good luck everyone!

yes, she'll need to attend the seminar for fiancee/spouses so she can get the sticker for her passport.

one question that seems to be asked alot at CFO. the maiden name of the mother of the petitioner.

" Derivatives may apply at the same time as the principal applicant parent or may apply later, but must be issued K-2 visas within one year from the date the K-1 visa was issued to the principal applicant parent. Derivatives who are following-to-join the principal applicant parent must apply for their K-2 visas in a timely manner to allow visa issuance within the required period."

Philippinesds-230

And hopefully, the PI will catch up with and use only the DS-160 to replace all those, as other Embassies are! The 160 is nice, because you don't fill & print, you fill and submit online, so they have it at USEM right away.

I Believe other Embassies are not using the DS-160 for K Visas.

Important Notice: All nonimmigrant visa applicants worldwide must use the online DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form, with the exception of individuals applying for a K visa, who should use the DS-156 and the DS-156K (see the Visa Categories Not Using the DS-160 section below for more information).

That one was constructed on the basis of decades of research at the HIPAS facility in my valley, run mostly by the University of California and the Navy. There's a book on it called "Angels don't play this HAARP". I knew the author back then but we have not spoken since an Alaska Independence Party convention many years ago.

Nic Tesla's patents featured prominently in their research when I was looking into it. I was worried if their space gun was going to fry my airplane and me.

PhilippinesAOS - is it necessary

For AOS you will not have to do anymore interviews (As a general Rule), Just payments and paperworks.

not necessarily. it's probably more like 50/50 for an interview for AOS. if your case is transferred to a service center, then it's likely that you will not have an interview.
