Its possible for the noa2 to come in the mail before the status changing online? i have not been paying attention to my mail, only the case status online!

I got my approved NOA 2, 3 days ago dated March 10, 2009 and the status has not yet changed on the website nor did I get any email notification... So I guess we can't trust the Goverment to stay on top of the details... But we sure had better... good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsForgot to send photos / ticket proof we met
i submitted my k1 forms in full and copies of everything about how we met threw a marriage site. I went to visit her in her home country and got engaged but did not submit proof ( tickets, photos etc ) of us meeting only put the dates down in the cover letter. Will this be a issue for evidence? IF they ask me for more evidence how much will it delay it.

Please help.. i am worried now :(

Hello captain!
I know you from somewhere :)
Okay I guess I was not very clear ,but the thing is Mumbai consulate does acknowledge having received our package from Mumbai, and of also mailing me out my lovely crisp package 3.I was just being a restless child and hoping for miracles from the Indian postal system!

Hmm I will wait it out. Thanks for the suggestion though.I do indeed keep learning new things on here every hour :|

Hi.

Yeh my fiance scanned them once she printed and signed them and dated them and emailed them over to the embassy. You should include your case number / petitioner / beneficiery name / dob for each in the email. Create one cover letter will all the info they need to access your file.

Yes its only form DS-230 ( part 1 ) and DS-2001.

Best of luck.

hello JohnAnwesha,

I am in the same boat as you. NVC approved on March 4th and sent to Delhi Embassy. I am still waiting on packet 3. I got confirmation email that they have emailed packet 3 to my fiance. Did you get your packet 3 yet?

Thanks
Deven

Hi Anwesha,

I got a email from the Embassy saying the got my Packet 3 form ( scans ). They also mentioned they will schedule a interview about 4-6 weeks after they got my forms for packet 3 which was March 24th. So it looks like my fiance interview will be sometime in late April / Early May at the earliest :).

Hi everyone- sorry for the post, as I know most of you have already gone through this- so its old news for you! :) We finally got approved by USCIS on March 19th. I called NVC today- I know, way early- just to see if by chance they received our info yet. They said no, that I needed to wait about 1-2 weeks after receiving my NOA2 in the mail (which hasn't happened yet). But, then we got a touch from USCIS again today. Anyone know what that means? Sent out to NVC? Received by NVC? Just curious. Thanks!

Hey. That happen to me and when i called the NVC they confirmed and said the case had been forwarded to the Embassy. I would call the embassy 3 to 4 working days to see if they have your case. But make sure you call the NVC first and get your new case number.

Best of luck

Hi Deven,
Nope,no luck here either.Just to calm myself down,I did call the mumbai embassy again to check if they did mail me the packet, and they said they did on Monday! So I was hoping today I would get it,but it seems I too shall have to wait till tom or Monday. But why has not Mumbai sent me any such nice comforting mail?hehe!
Will call them, and find out more if I still do not get it.
Thanks again for your replies :)

Hi,

I sent a email to the embassy to verify what email address and who the email should address to. I assume i will hear back Sunday night California time. Once i hear back i will post the info up. Also once you send/email packet 3 .. they will also send you a appointment date via email if you like.. so you can according book tickets for your fiance to come to the USA etc.

We are getting close to the final step :)

Cheers,

Hi Anwesha,

Thanks for your reply. Well looks like we both got told that its already sent out. I just want to get done with packet 3 and get packet 4 to find out when my fiance can finally make it out to the states :) i am hoping by Mid April all is set and done.

Keep me posted as well and best of luck!

Hello Anwesha,

Any luck on your packet 3? My fiance has NOT received anything as of Friday night in New Delhi. Might come Saturday or Monday i hope. But in the mean time this is the response i got back from the embassy yesterday regarding packet 3.

So i got a email from the embassy last night stating that if i have not received packet 3 yet, my fiance can go to the US embassy site for new delhi and download the forms for packet 3 and fill them out / scan and then email them to move things further along. I will fill out the forms today and email them over so they can shoot out Packet 4 / Medical / Interview dates.

Hope this helps!

Hi dev23j,
We got approved on the 2nd of March ,and finally found out from NVC yest i.e the 10th that they had got our package. So roughly little over a week for us,but for some others it was faster,so keep calling everyday this week and the next, your's will be on its way.

And when you call, you just chose to directly speak to an operator ,and give them your receipt number mentioned in the NOA2,that's what my fiance did.
I hope that helped!

Update:

Today i finally got a mail from USCIS saying the case was approved and NOA2 is on the way. On the other side of the consulate has received the petition and they are about to send the interview notice which will happen in two to three weeks. No packet 3 in chennai.

Thanks

Why is there no packet 3 in chennai? Does that apply for delhi to. I just got my file approved today by NVC and file is being forwarded to Embassy. I wonder if we will have packet 3? How far out are the interview dates generally ( 2 - 3 weeks ) i read online some where its 2 -3 months?

I think its probably best if I go on my own. I'll leave malia in a nearby pub, perhaps, although 9am is a shade early...

Despite my interview being ages away, I can already feel that small knot of nervous excitement in my belly. After all this time of the visa process being something happening in the background, its suddenly moving to the foreground, becoming more real day by day. smile.gif

you can probably expect more daft questions as the time draws nearer smile.gif

Do I need to take the NOA2 to the inteview? Its in the US, at malia's mother's house. I'd better get it sent over pronto if I need it, otherwise it'll get caught up in the christmas mess

And can malia come to the interview with me? Is it allowed/recommended? It'd be a lot more simple than taking evidence of an ongoing relationship if the interviewer could here it straight from the fiancee

Thanks

i'm more interested in a socio-revolution that an economical one - british people nowadays seem totally beaten down until you get them on BBC's Have Your Say, then they turn into complete winging xenophobes. we are unable to stand up for our rights when it counts, whereas americans stand up for their rights loudly.

as far as the recession goes, at the moment its fairly limited, especially compared to what the UK is about to pile into (in my opinion). but then anyone who's been watching house prices over the last 5 years already knows whats happening.

my tips:

Incidentally, London doesn't care about his past tax returns. They aren't required for an I134 unless the sponsor happens to be self-employed.

RJ - FYI over the last 6 months, anecdotal evidence suggests that London is now cracking down on requiring copies of tax returns for supporting docs to the I-134, though they are only requiring the prior year, not 3 years.

Good to know.

Is that happening with everyone?

PS - The I134 document itself doesn't 'require' a tax return as a supporting document. It's up to the consulates themselves.

The paperwork checker that I had was really quite diligent - a very fresh-faced, fresh-outta-uni type of chap who looked carefully at numbers and counted on his fingers several times. Its easy to imagine that in a year or so he will have chilled out to the point where he'll let the odd missing tax return slip... smile.gif

The embassy is quite easy to find: get off the tube at Bond Street and every shopkeeper around there will know where you need to go. there's a large park-type open space in front of the embassy, so if you see that, you're on target. Just walk around it until a cop stops you, and you've found the embassy. Alternatively, look for the ugliest building between hyde park and charing cross and you've found the US embassy smile.gif

Getting into the embassy is a bit of a stress, there are 3 checkpoints - the second of which is most scary, thanks entirely to a bulldog of a man who appears more willing to bite you than let you through.

then the waiting - thats not easy - think back to when you where in the plane ready to sky-dive. The actual interview will be the easy bit. smile.gif

personally, i'm now starting to worry about the POE thing, and getting the deposit back on my flat, and the marriage (10 days away) and finding someone to transcribe my ds3025, and screwing up on my AOS paperwork, or getting stuck in some random name-check to hold up my EAD (i really need to work soon - there are Bills...) there's always things to worry about, the trick is to spend an equal amount of time congratulating yourself for the things you've succeeded in smile.gif

United Kingdomsponsorship opinions
in my interview, the i134 was inspected by the first bloke, who was the junior one - the paperwork checker.

Its important to understand that, in the interview stage, you don't have a sponsor and co-sponsor, you simply have someone in the US (within certain specs) who is willing to sponsor you. ie: 1 sponsor.

You don't need to give Nick's i134 first, you can just pile in with the co-sponsor's i134. if the figures match up and the relation to you is straightforward enough you'll just get the tick in the box and the real interview official won't even look at it - job done - don't mention it again.

if the figures don't match up, or if he's not sure about the relationship between you, your fiance and the co-sponsor, then all he can really do is put a question mark in the box and pass it on to the real CO.

When you get to the real CO stage, if he's unsure about the i134, then you can hit him with your bank statement, your earnings, anything you have. it might be worth having some bit of paper signed by the co-sponsor affirming the relationship. You might have to get creative in terms of what you produce as evidence (photos from family get togethers, for example)

The COs I met, less than a week ago, were superb people, exemplary examples of the human race, they bent over backwards to let me prove my case even though I'd screwed up with forms. If you keep a positive attitude, and if you're genuine in your desire to be with your man, they'll detect that (its what they do for a living, and you'll be okay smile.gif

I've honestly not been prompted to speak up at all in the way of other people's quibbles on this site, but reading this stream of messages, I can honestly say you have sounded quite condescending and goaded that poster. Big deal, you think you're right, and your way is the way of the US government. If you were secure in that knowledge, it'd hardly be something that warrants pounding other posters about. I think by admitting that she chose to go her own alternative route, which worked for her, she's saying other ways of doing things are possible in this situation, if not guaranteed. I think VJ's the most useful because it's a place where a bigger variety of people's experiences and solutions can be accessed.

The P3 gives the directions "fill in this questionaire and hand it in when you go for your interview"

If you can find the questionaire elsewhere, print it out, fill it in and hand it in. If not, tell them your dog ate it*, and can you have a spare. They make you fill in the same questionaire anyway, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Just call them, talk to them, they'll be okay, they have shareholders smile.gif

Packet 3 doesn't say which place to attend, that is determined when you call and arrange the medical

If you have the case number (which you must have in order to have arranged the interview) I'd call knightsbridge doctors and ask them which branch to go to. Explain the situation, ask them their advice. They are a private company for whom 200 quid is lifeblood, so they're unlikely to tell you to take a hike..

Just to confuse matters, there is a member in the AOS forum who recently got an EAD stamp from San Franciso. Apparently they sweet talked the immigration officer, and he dug out a stamp and stamped their I94

But then they've still got to get an SSN, and find an employer who'll listen to a lenghty explanation as to why they don't need an EAD card or a greencard...

ps. Our POE officer was proud that we'd done it The Right Way, and applied for a K1 before getting married. He couldn't have been more pleasant. I didn't think to ask for the EAD stamp though sad.gif

well I shipped with The Excess Baggage Company. Two 4.5 cuft boxes, and two book boxes cost nearly 400 pounds

And now that they've arrived in the US, Customs are demanding more proof that I'm here to stay. The I-94 expires in April, so thats not enough. The K1 they've never heard of. NOAs for AOS/EAD/AP have left them unimpressed, I've just sent them copies of my EAD and AP. And of course changing my address had thrown them out completely.

If I'd thought it through I'd have shipped it all in my wife's name...
