Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Biometrics query	I missed my biometrics appt as I was sick approx. 1 mth ago. I wrote to USCIS requesting another date and haven't heard anything. Now I'm getting concerned. To anyone who has had to reschedule a biometrics appt, how long after the original appt was it until you got your 2nd appt? Thanks! I think all the palava with trying to get a new biometrics appt is playing on my mind. I had a nightmare last night that we came back from the Caymans and there was a giant stingray that was the immigration person at the airport and told me that my extension letter was a fake! However you need the name AND fingerprint Australian one which can be arranged by contacting your local police station and finding out whether you can do it as a walk in or whether you need to make an appointment. K1, K2, K3 & K4 Applicants K visa applicants pay an application fee (also known as the Machine Readable Visa Fee) like any other nonimmigrant visa applicant. The current application fee for the K visa is USD $350.00. (The AUD equivalent is $420.00). Way to go Brodi! I am so happy for you two... I am coming out on Nov. 2 - 21 (2 weeks working out of our offices there) wish we were in the same boat and going to the consulate so Paul can come home!!! With response to your questions - # 1) I'm not sure of the answer of. #2 - yes you have to take passports of all visa applicants to the embassy as if you are approved they will be left there and returned to you within the week in the express post envelope you also provide. #3 there is a A$420 visa fee per applicant to be paid at Australia Post. Yes I just rocked up to the counter and said I had to pay a US Visa fee and they looked it up on the computer. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	HOW TO TRACK YOUR CASE FROM NVC TO EMBASSY	Hi brothers and sisters we all have that curiosity to know when our cases arrived at the embassy ,so i tried to find out how and it took me a lil while from what i been reading in some topics here they told how but when i tried never worked but when i just tried simple thing found it worked and got the track # and where is our files now just follow those simple steps and you will get to 1- when you know from AVR that your case was forward to embassy ( mm/dd/yyyy) lets take an example case forward to embassy March 20th 2009 2- go to DHL TRACK 3- then under track list click on track reference 4- put the reference in this shape EXP19MAR2009A and push track now we seen its completed in 2oth but we searched in 19th yes because they schedule shipping day before so DHL know in advance when they will ship it so day before will be your exact day for NVC shipping your case to your embassy i tried it this way and worked but i found 2 cases to cairo so which one is mine dosent matter as along as i can keep an eye on it for sure the month will be changing just the example above for explanation Good luck all This is a great post with excellent information, thanks so much for putting this on here! K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Spousal Visa Current Processing Time	Hello everybody! I'm a newbie here. I definitely need your help guys. I got married to a US Citizen last August 19th 2011.. he used to work to Doha but things happened and he can go back there.. So he decided to flew back to USA and start looking for a job there and be with his family. After a week he filed for a Spousal Visa for me to be with him soon. They received our paper last Sept 15th 2011 and we are on our Initial Review now.. Could you guys help me how long will it take for me to hear something from the Immigration? My hubby suffer in PTSD and i cant bear the pain that i cant take care of him... Some website stated that it took only 5-6 months... and we are on our 5th months now... does that mean we will hear something anytime soon? Any help is definitely highly appreciated. If at the 6 month mark you have not heard anything, there is no problem with calling USCIS to get a status update, especially if, according to the USCIS website, they are now out of "normal processing time." However, calling may or may not help to move things along. I am so sorry you are feeling so frustrated but I agree that sometimes you will receive different information from USCIS, but I have learned too that you have to be very clear in speaking with them about exactly the type of information you are seeking and the nature of the petition or application you are filing etc. Now to help you answer some of your questions, I have found that the most reliable information pertaining to what forms you will need for the interview can be located online at the consulate where your interview will be conducted. Many of the instructions will contain information on the types of forms you will need to fill out. I would then suggest you go back into the USCIS website, locate those forms and also print out the instructions that go along with those forms. I hope this information is of some help and in all honesty there is a lot of information that you can locate right here on VJ to assist you as well. Especially if you go into your country's portal! The CO said my visa was approved. I gave my address info to UPS table at the embassy. But when I track the packet it tells me it's not been given to UPS yet... Anyone has any idea how long does it take them to send out the passport/visa? Thank you for your relies... Have you called the consulate to get a status update and to just ensure that there was not a glitch or anything? (He paid the AOS and IV/DS-230 fees to the NVC direct) Are there additional fees on top of these fees outside of the fees for the medical examination? My final question, is there another packet that is sent into the consulate prior to the interview or does my husband just need to prepare the final file containing the required documents along with the additional evidence of bona fide marraige and evidence of relationship that he will take with him to the interview? US Citizenship General Discussion	Divorce right after GC	I have seen posts where I-751 gets filed, then a change in marital status happens while it is being processed, such as a seperation or divorce, and couple update USCIS as to this change in status, most times the I-751 gets approved anyway. US Citizenship General Discussion	Just filled out Application Online	Haven't posted here for a while. Been really busy selling home/buying a new one in Florida... Anyway, today I just submitted an application online for my wife's citizenship at what I thought was an official US Gov. site (it may be afterall but I'm suspicious). The site charged me $169.00 for what *I* thought was the application fee for Citizenship. Apparently it was not the fee as the fee's several hundred dollars. So what's up with this fee? I used a link provided in the stickies in the beginning of this forum....... My link I think I know the answer to my own question as I just took a second look at the site. It's not a U.S. Gov site at all....I think I just paid $169.00 to fill out an application I could've filled out myself, sigh..... Well?? Ohhhh that stinks. I would definately call and report this as fraudulent based on what type of card you used, but report it now, either way. All fees associated with USCIS etc need to be paid to them not through any web site that I have seen. Plus all the documents on the USCIS provide attached instructions on what you need to pay, how to pay etc. etc. I would get my information from there primarily. US Citizenship General Discussion	Green card and Fafsa	My husband and I are still in the process of our Direct Consular Filing case-We filed I-130 and have our interview in July Thank God! The thing is, if all goes well and e do go to the USA, we are wanting to start college next year. I know that when I and my friend agreed to sponsor my husband we signed the paper saying we wont recieve any government aid. So is filling out the Fafsa for financial aid for college considered in this? I'm just wondering because according to the college we are looking at, we have to fill out the Fafsa in order to apply for scholarships. We don't necessarily want the financial aid if we can avoid it through saving, but I was wondering if financial aid for college is considered in that. I read a lot of greencard holders get financial aid for college, and I was wondering how that effects the contract with the US. If anyone knows, it'd be great to know lol Thanks! My suggestion would be to contact USCIS directly and ask them. When I hear about aid I am thinking more so in the terms of like WIC or aid pertaining to living expenses not necessarily aid for going to school. However, to be on the safe side and to ensure that you do not do anything you are not supposed to, I would contact USCIS, and take note of who you talk to and the date and time you called and get their agent # or ID. Also, you could also ask for a Tier 2 person just to ensure you are getting the fullest amount of information possible. I can tell you from a past experience however that I knew of several green card holders who were able to utilize financial aid for schooling. At the time, and this was several years ago, the stipulation regarding aid was more so in reference to receiving like section 8 housing and aid for buying food and things along those lines. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Please help me understand processind tates on the USCIS website	Processing dates only reflect the ESTIMATED TIME it will take to complete your type of case. FOr Instance if your case is estimated generally to be completed in 6 months - Like K1 visas are- then it will say 6 months if a date is listed of January 18th, 2006 - that means they are waaaay behind and are just finishing a case that was filed on that day. so you would be looking at your case to be completed a year from now if todays date was January 18. Do they go by the Gross Income (line 7) or Net Profit (line 31)? I am a little confused because it says on the I-134 form "See instructions for nature of evidence of net worth to be submitted." US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Guangzhou Visa	Jiayang's visa was approved on the 12th and since then she has been going to the post office in Guangzhou every day waiting for her passport to be returned to her. This morning she told me that approximately 400 people are waiting at the post office everyday from 0800 until 1200/noon. So far no luck on getting her passport and visa. Can anyone tell me what the approximate wait time is for this step? The process is this: 1) your file will now go from Vermont to the National Visa Centre 2) they will assign a new case file number, write to you to confirm and then send your file to Sydney 3) Sydney will then send out a letter to your finacee with a list of things to do 4) one of the forms in the list needs to be returned straight away 5) the rest of the forms, plus her medical results, plus police certificates, plus affidavit of support and docs are then returned to Sydney when you are ready along with a checklist 6) once all that received Sydney will write to your girl and advise her of the interview date. If it's a K1 visa and you're talking about the packet 3 documents - you send those back to the embassey along with the checklist confirming you are ready to be intereviewed.
