Hello Everyone My Name is Dimple Patel

I filed for my Husband last year on March 21,2013

yet I still havent heard for his Visa Date

I have filled his DSL forms out like a over a month ago,

I tried call National Visa Center but no one answers the calls, its been busy...

 

You need to keep redialing the NVC. It will give a constant busy tone but finally you will be able to get through. Usually early morning and late at night are the best times to try and call and even then you will have an on-hold time of at least 20-30 minutes or more. You don't have a timeline so its impossible to see what stage you are at. People would be able to assist you easier if you do a timeline or signature ;)

thank you. collie.   i am here in cairo Egypt .but my husband from America . we started this process 14 months ago ...my case was completed on march 31 -2014 but i have not received the interview date yet .......so Please does anyone know how long does it usually take to get a response....I am going crazy waiting for .. .. How long i will wait ?  I need some advice please

 

Unfortunately, Egypt has one of the longer waiting times for an interview. I believe that they are working on interviews for people that were case completed September-November 2013 right now from what I have seen.

Call and talked to a tier 2 officer today..he said they finished reviewing my i130 on march 18th. .. told me to wait until the end of this month for decision....ah damn...should i believe him ?

 

No, I wouldn't believe him and I sure wouldn't wait that long either. Call every day and write emails. Emails I learned through this process have a lot of power when written to the right people.

I'm a March filer and we aren't near case complete yet. We just submitted the I-864 last week and are waiting for the IV part to be invoiced.

I'm also surprised that VSC is moving on it with action given that many of you guys have been waiting a year on average. We certainly do have a legitimate marriage, and I can bring more evidence to prove it if necessary to the interview, as we are just back from vacation on tuesday from Grand Cayman and have pics from that in addition to pics from a cruise that we took just after we filed the I-751 in May.

Its so weird though to get an interview before I have even done my biometrics, but USCIS is never straight forward with anything I suppose. The agent that I got on the phone was the nicest that I have ever spoken to. He took the time to go through things with me and wasn't stiff like the other people there that I have encountered and apologized for putting me on hold when he had to.

Anyhow I will keep y'all updated with our quality control interview good.gif

The saga continues.. I called USCIS today as I still haven't received a notification on my biometrics appt being rescheduled. There still is no word about an appt, but the agent had other news for me. It appears that we have been selected for an interview. He said that the file showed that we had enough evidence (we should have...we sent over 100 pages! mad.gif ), but we had been put in category B which means that we were "randomly" selected for an interview. The other categories are A and C with A having enough evidence with no interview and C being denied with not enough evidence.

The interview letter ironically was just sent today, so I will expect it in the mail within the next few days I guess. I'm surprised that the VSC has moved quickly on our case but at the same time, I'm peeved that we got selected for an interview.

If anyone else has had an interview, can you please post what questions you were asked. I'm now going to trawl through VJ posts for anyone elses interview experiences.

I have travelled back to the USA from my home country (the UK) and other countries on a few occasions and have never had any trouble. I just got back from Grand Cayman with my husband on tue and in the U.S, the immigration officer didn't even ask for my extension letter. When I returned home from the UK in 2007, the U.S immigration officer told me welcome home, which was really nice good.gif . Its also great to go through the USC line instead of having to wait in the much longer visitor line.

I posted last week about being told that we had been selected for an interview according to USCIS. As we still had not received a letter, I called today and was transferred from an agent to an immigration officer for more details. He was very nice and explained that due to fraudulent cases of marriage years ago, there were now many people being called for a second interview due to new USCIS findings, especially if they were still married and not going through divorce proceedings. This seems contradictory to me as I think it should be the other way around, but I guess thats the way that the cookie crumbles. He specifically said that during these type of interviews, the couple would be interviewed separately on their personal and financial aspects of life to prove that they were co-mingled. He also stated that having a baby together was great proof...

He told me that my letter did not state a date but that it would say that the case was awaiting an appointment date at a local district office. I wonder how long that will take?...

It really bugs me now that I have been thinking about it...we have a perfectly legitimate marriage and love each other. We sent a ton of evidence to them with financial info galore and I truly believe that we were selected because we don't yet have a baby together. We are at the time now where we are trying, but we both didn't want to rush in earlier and have a baby without being able to support that child and without feeling that it wasn't the right time. is that so wrong? huh.gif

Anyhow thats the latest scoop.

Sorry that you got an RFE, but the best thing to do is to just to overwhelm them with evidence. Just send anything at all (especially financial) that you can think of like any other insurance policies... Home owners insurance Do you both give regular donations to your church? if so your minister could give you something that attests to that. Defnitely include documents from your Dr/Ultrasounds to prove that you are pregnant. Photos, affidavits are also another good thing, as are any joint memberships, like a gym membership? Have you taken any trips together? If so include photos and itineraries, ticket stubs etc.

We are also waiting on an interview to remove conditions. How long did it take you to receive your interview date? I spoke to an immigration officer a few weeks back who told me that there would be more and more interviews as part of a new quality control process, even if you have enough evidence. I guess its something that anyone filing an I-751 can potentially look forward to.

You definitely want to show some full bank statements to show activity and deposit of both paychecks in the same account etc. I blacked out the account numbers. I don't care what uscis says about it, but I was not prepared to have our account numbers available for all to see and potentially stolen. They only need to see activity.

For the mail, I sent in copies since the instructions for filing states to send copies.

Nope. You can still get an RFE or call for an interview at any time. The biometrics is just the next step after filing. Thats the way that its going with our file right now. We are just waiting for uscis to get their asses into gear and send us a date.

Not all interviews are because of insufficient evidence and divorce. You can be randomly selected for an interview just like we have been . We are not divorced and sent a ton of evidence spanning financial and personal information over 100 pages in all. I guess its just luck of the draw sometimes!

Tried the walk-in and they refused to let me do it (that was back in June a few days after the original appt). They have so many notes on this case from all my calls that the officer who I spoke to yesterday actually said that nobody would ever think the case was abandoned with the missing biometrics appt that seems to never arrive in my mail box. That was my biggest concern and I'm glad to see that they are actually taking notes and logging them!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I think thats exactly what we will do. I'll give them until the start of Dec and then if I don't get anything at that time, we will make an infopass appt. Our local office is in Dallas and we live about an hour and a half away otherwise it would be easy to just go. Plus I have horrid morning sickness right now so another few weeks of waiting won't hurt tongue.gif .

Arghhh Uscis (a.k.a. useless) really frustrates me at times. I always get to speak to really nice people but it doesn't solve my problems. Basically I have been calling every single month now since missing my biometrics appt in June due to illness to get a new appt notice. I have spoken to agents and officers and to no avail. They keep on sending out a service request to the center to get a new notice and it doesn't happen.

I know that we have been also selected randomly for an interview and we can't do that until we do the biometrics, so it frustrates me further arghhhh.

Do you think that its time to get the senator involved? I just keep on being told to call back every month if I haven't got the appt notice. Its getting tiresome now!

I wouldn't call USCIS just for the NOA but if your GC is expired, you should go into your local office on an info-pass appt to get the 1 yr extension.
