MAWIN...MAWIN ladies...I need ya'll to help my cousin out...I'll try and give the short version

She met her fiance in Sept. 2006, filed K-1 Sept 2007, got approved Dec. 2007, INTERVIEW 3/11/08. I tell you US, WE, WOMAN make the best damn detectives and private eyes someone could hire. I say when you gut tells you something is wrong, it must be true. Now, when she met this man in '06 he told her he had 4 kids (turns out be be 9!!!!!!!!). Forgave him (mistake - 1) She completed her house May 2007 and he moved into it with some of his family (mistake 2). Family have since moved out (FREELOADERS). But things still going well. This month (I think was the REBEL salute in Negril)...she goes to visit for a few days (things still okay I guess) but he would dissapear for hours after work. Well........

My cousin decides to fly home yesterday, picked up her rental car, drives to her home in Coral Gardens MoBay, walks up her steps to open her front door and well, a (VERY PREGNANT) woman opens the door and says (MAY I HELP YOU). I'm trying to keep this short. They let my cousin out of jail this morning. I just spoke to her and this is her question.

Can this )(*#$)#$ still move forward with the interview next month even though she has not completed the I-134 (I think that's what it's called), she did not give him any documents as far as her income, bank statements and tax records.

His new woman tells my cousin, he don't need her no more in the process, because he can use a co-sponsor for the affidavit of support. Is that true? The way I understand it is, you the petitioner, you only need a co-sponsor if you don't make enough $$$$$, right?

Sad thing...I knew something was not right with this guy. When I went to Jamaica in November women were all over him at Pier 1 and it was worse when we went to Amensia in Ocho Rios. I didn't matter were we went, someone knew him. I wanted to tell my cousin, but I left it alone. When my fiance went there to paint the garage, he saw some woman there and he told my fiance that she was the helper. Whatever.

So, what does she do now (I say fly back to the states)? Can he proceed without her? So, please help me to help her.

Lawny,

Mi sarry fi ear bout dat!! Jah knoa what a DYAM good ting she did findhout wat a pissa shyt he was BEFORE the interview!! NO...HE CAN NOT MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT HER!!!!! Especially because he has non of the documents necessary for approval! Co-sponsorship mi RASS!!!!!! If it ain't the name of the Petitioner on the paper work...they will not accept documentation from ANYONE else! I wah dem tek dis ting fuh!!!! Is not like dem a buy a cyar and someone else can co-sign!!! She need to withdraw her application IMMEDIATELY!!!! PLEASE BEFORE YOU DUH HENNYTING ELSE CALL DEH 202-663-1225 # HIT OPTION '1', THEN '0'!!!

Since she dung deh tell har fi CALL deh Embassy!! Citizens Services should be able to help her sort all of this out! Such a dyam shame...we had the same interview date!! Mi seh some man SO dyam FOOL yuh see!!!! Please stress to har Lawny...dat G-d loves her by showing her the light BEFORE she brought em hup here fi mek a fool outta har!! Now, em jus hen hup playing em DYAM self!!!! mad.gif mad.gif

Please keep us posted!!

Love ya,
Gill

Thanks Gill. Now, she had another problem. My uncles are on their way to Coral Gardens now, you know that mother)(*#$ is still in the house after all that took place yesterday. I'm on the phone with her now and the police is arguing with her because they want her passport. Can they take her passport? She was arrested because she and the other woman was fighting and the (the A$$ - fiance) got stabbed in the process. So, now the fiance and the other woman are both saying that it was my cousin that attacked them and he stood in the way so he could protect his pregnant girlfriend. But the neighbors say different (they attacked my cousin) that's why she was released this morning. She has to see a Judge today. This is a big friggin mess. The other woman was also arrested.

I am so sorry to hear this sad.gif one good thing is she found out prior to the interview. Them two will find themselves back at square one and no house to live up in. They will get their just due. I beleive that! God will deal wid them.

lol thanks! still bored but im here till 1130 since this process im very interested in immigrations. I have been thinking about a change for a while maybe ill go for it. But my first plan is to move to tx. Im praying they say i can come. To kill time im thinkin about what i want in my house lol grill top stove game room and theater room. I love the houses there they are so nice and cheappppp. HI kimmy how u feel betta soon and trelawny i feel u i miss bein creative i used to do nails i kinda miss that. It was one job where i never felt i was at work. It was comforting knowing i made someone elses day great by hooking up their nails. It was like being a therapist, folks tell all their issues and sometimes leave feeling better just because their nails look nice. Now i what i do its a numbers game how much work you can finish in 8 hours and if others here do work faster then we go by that average so i know i gotta get the hell out soon! it used to be a set number to do based on your position. sad.gif

You aren't the only one with this happening....I just got off the phone with Kevin and asked him if he is ready for the "storm" and his reply was, It's not supposed to be here until Monday i think????...I was like WHAT??? So then I started running down all the info and we was in SHOCK. I reminded him of IVAN and told him about how this is supposed to be worse. THANK GOD he beleived me because we all know Jamaican Men sometime think they know everything. SO, he is now on his way to the store to get water, macrel in a tin, candles... I also learned from another site that after Ivan although they couldn't make calls out on the cell phones they were able to text so make sure you tell all of your loved ones to use that route if they can't make calls.

only issue with that is if the cell site is OOS no text either it still has to hit the tower to process sad.gif and as we know in ja the cell towers are few and far between especially in the hills i have never even seen a tower lol they must be camouflauged

With the hurricane coming i pray it passes by the island. Please keep Chris's family in your prayers as his mom house may not stand the hurricane she lives in a board house its pretty much already coming apart and they are trying to build her a cement house now but its nowhere near finish. I pray shes ok being there. I hope she decides to come down from the country and stay with them in the hills that should be safer.

Andre's family always goes to the country in times like these, for safety. The live about 50 feet from the sea now.

yeh i hope they do vacate and go there its just mom and dad and baby brother in the country

WHATS TAKING THEM SO LONG TO CASH MY CHECK :crying: :crying:

Good mornin everyone!! how soon should or can i send in the ds230? do i really have to wait for packet 3? and for the medical you can just go right ? you need info from that packet? im a bit confused at this second part of the process anyone have a link to a thread where this was ever discussed

I believe, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong --because it's been forever since I went through this process, when Kingston receives the case, they will send out Packet 3 that includes the DS230 (and lots of other information). The DS230 then can either be mailed in or he has to schedule an appointment to hand it in. I do know that he canNOT go to the medical without the interview letter......or even make an appointment for the medical without the interview letter because they'll ask you when your interview date is scheduled for.

If you don't receive Packet 3 first, you have to be sure that the Embassy has his information, if not...they'll throw away his DS230.

Technically you don't have to have Packet 3 to hand in the DS230, but you have to make sure they have his case there first!!

Hope that helps. I have forms (Packet 3) on email ...but it's from 2005 ...if you're interested, please PM me your email address.

Once Kingston receive the case I emailed them and asked for a date to drop off the DS230.

If you are going to use this method, suggest to them that you want to drop it off the following week, or you can even call them get a date to drop it off, there you can pick up packet 3 with the medical information, chances are they will send you another copy of the package in the mail just the same. However, you have to wait on the interview letter to do the medical.

I was hoping we would be able to drop that form off and pick up packet 3 chris has NEVER gotten any mail i send him. Im scared to even attempt to mail it ...ready to get on a plane and take it...!!! makes no sense thanks guys for ur replies

What time is Jay & Donna's appointment.....does anyone know?

Their time was the same as Marlon's! I can't wait to hear from Jay and Kim!
Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes, they helped!
Air-Pak told Marlon 4-6 days so not gonna book that ticket until he has his visa in hand! I am hoping he can be here next week!

Empress: I was screaming too when he told me! lol

Yes, we are through also. Marlon is a nice guy. I'm glad Donna and I were able to meet him. We were interviewed at the same time and ended up at Air-Pak at the same time. The whole process once inside the Embassy took less than an hour! We were out of the embassy about 8:50am. We arrived and stood in line at 6:30. We were doing good until they found Donna's cell phone. She had to go back outside and rejoin the line while I went down to the interview area to wait. It wasn't long and we were back together and finished. There were only a few questions that Donna and myself were asked at Window 3. They asked us for our own personal information. Donna was asked for her phone number and I was asked for mine.

We have just had a portrait made and using the computer at an internet cafe here in Kingston. Thank you everyone for your help these past months and for everyone's prayers this past few days. VJ helps but it is God who saw us through so easily.

Chris does not smoke weed BUT his two brother and friend do and he works in close proximity to them allll dayyyy oh boy....will this show up in his medical? I recall readin somwhere in this thread abt pre testing not sure where i saw it cant find it but does anyone know where he can get this done in Mobay area? or should i be worried ???
?

They do random drug tests where I work, they said?for second hand smoke to show up on a test, would be the equivalent of being one of 8 people in a phone box where the other 7 were smoking for 24 hours.....

One question about the police record does he need anything from the embassy at all to state why he wants the police record? Or does he just pop up there and ask for one.

I don't know how far back you have to go with the police records, but if he was living in another country.....I believe that he'll need one from each. Anyone else that had to do that.....help her out with this question?

You're right, if he lived in another country for more than 12 months or was arrested regardless of how long he lived there, he will need to get a police certificate from those countries as well.

He was in England and Scotland we sent off that when i was last in jamaica on the 20th i do believe those take 40 days. Anyone know exactly how much the jamaican police reports are i hear it takes 20 days for normal and 3 for expedited???

Yeah, 21 days for regular and 3 days for expedited. The fee for expedited is J$2000.

DANG......again, glad we went through this last year. Andre got his in 7 days without paying any additional fees. A mishap where they "forgot" to send it to him and found it on the desk; but 7 days nonetheless.

I feel so sorry for you guys sometimes.

Seems like last year was the year to go thru this process! everything seems a bit longer now for most as im reading the timelines

Oh boy the drama begins now. Seems like first part of this process was much easier than part two. Before i couldnt relate to anything posted but now its kicking in :( since noa2 on friday.... Im tryin to tell chris to go see abt the police report next week to get the ball rolling he says dont rush me i dont like bein rush oh boy here we go. Then he tries to tell me how the process works, mind you he had never done it before or read anything about it lol .....then i send him all the questions he says i dont think i can go through with this visa process i dont like people askin me all these questions...im stress already and nothin has even started yet.... :o

Girl, from what I have read and experienced sometimes it takes just taking a step back and a couple days of not even thinking about or discussing the process. Unfortunatly, our SO's tend to rely on what everyone else has told them and treat that as the bible. Sometimes you have to use some creative manipulations to get your point across because as others have said...Jamaican men are a bit stubborn. What I use as my saving grace is in the back of my mind...the knowledge that ultimatly...when it comes to certain things, it will all come out to be just what I was trying to tell him. Then it is him who has to eat crow....and maybe..someday... he will come to realize that I know what I am talking about....Hang in there.

Oh, dear God. So glad Andre was not like any of that. I have no patience for it.

I think he's probably just a bit nervous about the whole thing. Up until this point, it was a fantasy.....now, the reality is hitting. Make sure you guys talk it all through. It's nerve wracking enough without any fighting going on.

I think he has gotten himself together ! yesterday i told him he have to do his part i cant and wont do it all and nor will i beg him to do what hes supposed to do. So last night he called asking what i needed for the paperwork and we talked more abt him goin to get the police record. Same thing today lol hes gonna go get his 12 passport pics today. He is very stubborn and think he knows everything !

Howdy!
So Marlon sent me money to FedEx the DS-156 and DS-157 forms, he will receive them tomorrow. It cost $43.98. I also included the interview questions that Empress provided (thanks!) as well as a letter to the consular officer conducting the interview regarding why I cannot be present. I also included the email from the embassy stating the original date of August 7. So hopefully all will go well!

12 more days!!!!!

I agree with the PRICELESS !!!!!

Yah, me too. But, my charges up to that PRICELESS were a lot higher then yours, Sarah. I couldn't help but think you are lucky when I read it.

I was just thinking the same thing...I spent TONS more before I got to the priceless part...tons I tell ya

How did it not cost you so much?

I'm frugal and a bargain hunter! Not too mention that Marlon and I don't feel the need to talk so often, sometimes we go a couple of weeks but we ALWAYS text each other. We also mail stuff to each other.

A couple of weeks?? Whoa...I can't even go a couple of days!!! But then, I am a talker

days weeks nope i call or talk to him at least 3 times a day at the least two! the longest has been three days i didnt talk to him :)
