What number are you calling? You should be able to ask for tier II, and they can put a service request in for you. I'm assuming you're calling the number on your NOA1. If so, just ask to be transferred to Tier II, then ask for a service request. That's what I did. Maybe you got someone who's new lol. :P

aaaannd....ten minutes after I wrote this, I got the text, finally. We're approved =D

Congrats! Who knows, maybe I'm next... xD

Keep us updated, I'm curious to see how it goes for you.

As for me, got a response (or "response") from the service request, which just said "The status of this service request is: Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."

Talk about not helpful =P

Wow that sucks. >_< I haven't gotten a response from my "Service Request". How long did it take to get your response? Hope you get your NOA2 soon... (preferably before mine since you've been waiting longer lol.)

Oh ok. I guess that helps me feel a little better lol. Although half the time I feel like I've been banging my head against a brick wall. Still, I guess at this time any news is something. Any idea how long it will take to hear back from the congressional inquiry?

Called my congresswoman's office today to follow up on the privacy release form I sent them, and the lady I talked to basically said they couldn't do anything except find out what's taking so long... So basically another service request. >_< Everyone is so unhelpful! :(

I just waited patiently until the first tier customer service robot quit talking, asked for a service request, she said no, then I said, "Ok, please transfer me to Tier 2." She did, and after about 2 minutes of being on hold, I got a service request number from Tier 2. Who by the way, was MUCH more polite than the bored sounding robot in tier 1. :(

Well, I've finally done everything I can. Got a service request put in 2 days ago, faxed the privacy form to my congresswoman, (and mailed her another copy just in case since I couldn't contact them by phone lol). I guess all I can do now is wait. :(

They sent the NOA1 on 7/28, so I think of myself as a July filer, albeit a late one. I put in a service request today, for what it's worth.

Part of me thinks that because I frontloaded the application with proof of the on-going relationship (making it a big, thick stack of paper), that the adjudicator is looking at it, then grabbing a thin one underneath =/

I did the same. Going to contact my congresswoman tomorrow as well. Got nothing better to do as I'm snowed in lol. I did the same thing with my application, the adjudicator probably skipped over both of ours! xD

Would make more sense. But I bet it's out of order because of the way they file them. You're past your 6 months, have you called immigration yet?

Yeah, twice now, they just give me the whole speech about how their system won't let them put in a service request etc. etc. D:<

GAWD... I hope so lol. I'm about to explode from all this pent up frustration. Hopefully I'll get that text today at work, that would be awesome, and would help my whole week go a lot better lmao. But until I get approved, I'm slowly going to keep going insane... *twitches* O.o

Oh well, hopefully they'll get finished with TPS quickly and get back to the I-129Fs. All this waiting is awful, by the time me and my fiance are married we will have not seen each other in over a year. But at least we don't have much longer to go! (I hope.) Good luck to all you other patient July filers, our time is almost here! *cheers*

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2010 VSC filers

It's been 5 months and 17 days since i received my NOA 1 and i am still waiting like everyone else which is really freaking frustrating .

I feel ya. My NOA1 was July 29. I gave up. All I can do is wait. From what I'm hearing from everyone else, calling, emailing or contacting your congressmen does NOTHING. I called them after my 5 months was up, and they fed me a whole bunch of BS about how I was still within processing times etc. They tell everyone the same thing. They also don't process them in order. How do I know? Igor's list showed a person with NOA1 December 1 and NOA2 Jan. 10. And it wasn't expedited military processing either. It's simply not fair and not right how they keep lying to us. There is no logic with the USCIS. In reality all you can do is wait. Sucks I know. :( You can try calling/emailing if you want, but don't expect to get very far. I hope you do, but as for me, I'm done. I've had enough and I don't really feel like calling them and wasting another 45 minutes of my life being lied to. Good luck!
(Boy I sure feel better having got that off my chest lmao)

Is anyone else having problems checking their USCIS account? I tried logging into my customer account today and it gave me this error message: "The system is unable to validate your IP address at this time". So I went to go check my case using the receipt number and it said "Case retrieval failed" and didn't bring any information up. Anyone else having this problem?

Try calling back and ask to talk to someone higher up. I know it doesn't always work, but it just depends on who you talk to.

Thanks, I'm glad it worked for you, but I guess I just always talked to the wrong person lol. I've called four times and gotten the same response each time. :( At this point I guess I'll just wait 19 days like they said, and trust that God will give me a miracle when it's the right time lol. Sucks to wait, but I guess the longer I wait, the more money I have saved up. :P

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2010 VSC filers

I have called several times, emailed and nothing......totally nothing. ###### useless!!!

Indeed. I just got off the phone with a lady and it took all my strength not to scream at her. All she told me was that I should "call back in 19 days" because 19 days prior to today is the current date of applications they are processing at VSC. When I asked her to submit a service request she said "the system won't let me because you're still within normal processing times". Then I called her on her BS and said that I was looking at the website and that it said 5 months was the current processing time, she said, "oh, that's just a vague estimate, not an actual timeline". I gave up because I'm sick and didn't have the strength to argue with her anymore. But I agree with everyone that this is complete BS. I've paid them almost $500 so they can sit around and make me wait. I'm just completely not ok with that. -_-

Well, our 5 months is up today. I'll be calling tomorrow to see if there's any new info, though it looks at this point as if I'll just get a vague, scripted response. If calling doesn't get me anywhere, I'll try emailing, and if that doesn't work I'll call my Senator lol. I'll post new info if I get it. >_<

I know exactly how you feel. I think the whole process needs to be improved, whether by hiring more workers or changing the way they do things. Unless there is an RFE (a valid reason for a delay), they should not even look at August petitions until they get through the July petitions. I'm very happy for those people, too, because it's so nice when you get approved sooner than expected, but there's definitely a lot room for more consistency!!! I like your joke, though!

AMEN. I'm really happy for those people who got approved, but it's also really freaking annoying because I am 99.9% sure I did everything right and won't get an RFE. I mean I even went way overboard on organization and amount of proof etc. It makes so much more sense to do things in order... Although I suppose that maybe the people who got approved quickly were maybe the lucky(unlucky?) few who were eligible for expedited processing? Which would make sense as to why they got approved "out of order". -sigh- No way to know for sure. Still keeping my fingers crossed lol, I have two potential dates booked with my church, but my maid of honor leaves on a mission trip overseas the week after the 2nd date, and also has another wedding that she's the maid of honor at the same day. >_< So unless I get a miracle and we get the visa in time to send out the invitations for the March 26th date,(which doesn't look likely), I have no idea what I'm going to do. Ah well, everything will all work out one way or another. xD

Hi all, I'm new to VJ, but first I'd like to say congratulations to everyone who has made it past NOA2! That's so great!
I don't remember the exact date I filed, but my NOA1 is dated July 29th. It's now been almost 4 months since then, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and praying! Hoping to be married by May 21, 2011, who knows, maybe I'll get lucky! I totally understand where everyone is coming from on the missing your SO and everything. I just got back from a trip to see my fiance in October, but I don't get to see him again until we get married due to financial issues. @_@ Eek! So here's hoping we get NOA2 soon. Again congratulations to everyone who has received their NOA2. It seems I was part of the "mass touch" on October 3rd, so maybe...just maybe it will happen soon lol. Hang in there guys, I know it majorly sucks right now, but it's soooooo going to be worth it in the end! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDomodedovo Terror Attack: Expedite for Russia?

Yesterday, January 24, there was a devastating terror attack in Domodedovo Airport in Moscow. 35 people were killed and dozens more wounded. The terrorist group responsible for this is still at large.

I do not want my bride to live in a country where there is an active terrorist group on the loose that made a mass strike in an airport she uses all of the time.

So since fiances from a country where you might get cholera all get expedites, why shouldn't fiances who are in danger of being blown up by terrorists get them too?

Let's hear from other VJ members with Russian fiances. How do we make this happen?

Seriously dude, you need to calm down. Does it suck that we have to wait so long on getting NOA2? Yes. Yes it does. I will hit 6 months on Saturday, and I know others who have waited even longer. We all knew it was going to be a long tough road, but guess what??? We CHOSE to do this. No one forced you to file for a K-1 visa. I completely understand missing your loved one, I haven't seen mine since October, and will not see him again until we get married (whenever that is) because it's so darn expensive to travel back and forth. So believe me, I feel your pain and frustration. But seriously. You need to calm down and remember that you're not the only person in the world. If all the people in war-torn countries, or places that had had terrorist attacks etc got expedites, there would be THOUSANDS more petitions that would "cut in line" before yours. So guess what? You'd still be in the same boat you are now. And speaking of boats, quit rocking this one and leave well enough alone. Kthxbai! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMexico K1 Steps and Procedures
All,
For any of you with a Fiancee in Mexico and are unsure of the procedures on what to expect I thought I would post the Forms/Procedures you might expect when applying for a K1-VISA in Mexico. Currently, Mexico has been changing the way you apply for a K1-VISA and each one of you will still need wait for your specific case and see what the Consulate asks of you. But in the meantime here is a little sample of what has happened so far.
First, you must apply to the USCIS this will cost you around $455 USD. You will receive a letter in the USPS mail with a copy of the I-797 form once approved.(See attached)
Second, you will receive another letter in the mail from the USCIS telling you that they have sent your information to the NVC (National VISA Center). (Please see the attached as to what This form will look like)
Third, you will then need to wait the appropriate time for the Consulate in Juarez to send your Fiancee in Mexico an invitation to begin making her appointment for her interview there at the Consulate in Juarez.(Please see the attached letter they will mail)
As of March 1 2011 before going to your interview you will need to setup an interview to have your Fiancee fingerprints taken. ** This must be done before the interview *** You can schedule your interview for your fingerprints and VISA interview at the same website http://mexico.usvisa-info.com/
Finally, before going into your VISA appointment you must also pay the $350 USD online at http://mexico.usvisa-info.com/ or by calling a 703-439-2313. Also, you will need to get a Medical Exam done at one of two places in Juarez across the street from the Consulate before going to your interview. This will cost you around $135 USD.
Well that's all I have to offer right now. Please if I have forgotten something please let me know... I hope this will make a few of you a little less stressed. :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI've been out of the fee loop..what is I-751 fee?
Now that we are about 2 months away from filing 751...I was trying to check into the fees because I know they went up and I can't find the info on VJ anywhere...and I haven't been paying much attention to that kind of thing because I guess we were kind of out of the ''fee loop'' for awhile. Help??

Other than that, I believe we have all the evidence that one would need, Lease in both of our names, Car insurance, beneficiary info, credit cards together, utility bills in the same address, pictures, travel history..all that fun stuff.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHELP! For friend of my husband..your advice
Hey Everyone..awhile since I have posted something..but now we ..well a friend of ours is in kind of a pickle.

A friend of my husband's came to the US..got married and his wife did the papers (they still live back in Dallas where we are from)....all that good stuff...he got the GC thru the DORA program in Dallas. In the past 6 months or so..the friend of my husband has found out alot of things about his wife that he's having a hard time with...like she basically stole another woman's husband in the past...she lied about her ex husband and her's relation ship..and he recently told my husband that every time they had a fight she said "if you don't do what I say I'll take your GC papers away". He's had about enough..they fight all the time, he calls my hubby for advice and just to escape, she threatens to kick him out and "take away his GC".

Do you think if he would leave her would he be OK to self-petition for removing conditions? He works, supports his son financially who lives in Miami with his ex wife (she came to the USA 10 years ago on a B2 and stayed..then divorced him while he was still living in Panama) he's a good man, good friend and good dad. Would he need a lawyer? (not a problem since we have immigration lawyers in the family now since my sister married one!)

We were talking about it all and I said "why don't I post this on VJ and see what the consensus is?"

Thanks Ya'll!

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiontraveling to Cancun Mexico

QUOTE (Len_and_Bren @ Aug 19 2008, 05:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I read somewhere that you do not need a visa to Mexico if you have a GC. However, with the GC expired it could be a whole other ball of wax: I am not sure how Mexican border people will deal with the NOA1 (they are not that smart). My best adsvise is to contact the closest Mexican consulate to where you live. To find addresses of Mexican consulates, go to:

http://www.sre.gob.m...rconsulados.htm

Hi there...I just got back from cancun mexico.. I live in Las Vegas and I have greencard..YES you can go to mexico and you dont need a visa. Just bring your Passport and Greencard! Enjoy cancun its very expensive though double price compare to US!

Go to Cancun, it's wonderful! I actually recommend Playa Del Carmen on the Riveara Maya about 45 minutes south. Cancun is definitely NOT double the price compared to the USA It's actually the same or much cheaper if you go to an all incluisive. Right now there are some really good specials, nice hotels for like 70-80 dollars per person per night all inclusive, it's worth it for the food and drink! In Cancun you can take the city bus for 5 or 6 pesos, and outside food is about the same as the USA, nice hotels that arent all inclusive are all over the place too. If you need any advice PM me!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGC Expired, have not recieved NOA1 AND we moved
For many reasons, we did not send off the packet until about 15 days before my husband's conditional GC expired, because we were planning to move, and everything did not come through until the beginning of September (he expired Sep 26). We moved from Florida back to Texas last week, and at the time we sent the packet we still did not have a new address, so for the mailing address we used my Father's address in Texas, along with proof that I received a job transfer etc. I did not want to trust that the mail would be correctly forwarded. The check was cashed on September 16.

Well, now we have no NOA1, my husband's GC is expired and I'm assuming he will not be able to get a job with out a NOA1 or passport stamp. We also have a trip planned to the Dominican Republic in 2 weeks ( I won a free vacation!) and I'm stressing out!!

If we make an infopass do you think they'd give the stamp, given the circumstances?
