US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-260 Form as of March 1st 2011

I think you can schedule appt at ANY ASC office, not just Juarez one, so you can do it nearby, then later go to Juarez for medical & interview.

This might help explain everything on page one everyone........ Thanks

Thanks for that update. I have to admit, for all of us actually taking the time and doing this the RIGHT way, they sure make it difficult for us.
I think I'm going to stay with Plan A and book a trip still for my Fiance in Mexico and have her go do the Medical Exam and once she receives the Exam take it to the consulate between the hours they listed and see what happens.
The guy I talked to on the phone told me the same thing, that I didn't need an appointment. But the letter they sent me says otherwise. Hence the confusion I shared with the rest of you :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-260 Form as of March 1st 2011

FYI:
Everyone, the DS-260 may NOT apply to YOU, I emailed my lawyer and they wrote:
"I read the Ciudad Juarez letter and think this does not apply to ******'s case. Please see below the explanation about DS260 that you can find on the US State Dept. web site:

http://travel.state..../info_5164.html

Based on the explanation there, it applies only when
1) the visa fee is requested by the NVC, and
2) the NVC case number starts with "MEP."

****** doesn't pay the fee through the NVC, she pays to the consulate directly. Her case number starts with "CDJ" instead of "MEP." I tried logging in CEAC website but it doesn't let you unless you have the NVC Invoice number."

Yall may still have to schedule ASC but just wanted to let yall know you may not need form DS-260, its best to wait till you get your own letter. I will let you know what we end up having to do.

Thanks Matt for the update.. Looks like we are all in the same boat. My Fiance case number also starts with CDJ.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I am as stressed as you. The attachment letter that I put in this forum was actually sent to ME in the states not my Fiance in Mexico. I called Juarez and told them that my Fiance in Mexico still had not received her packet. Two days letter I received a copy of the letter to her at my house in the states. Probably because I called.
I haven't scheduled a appointment yet and am not sure if this extra ASC appointment can be done at Juarez or other consulates throughout Mexico.. Hopefully that will be answered soon.
In the meantime, here is the number in Juarez I called for questions regarding my Case: 011 52 656 212 1016

I received my letter from the Consulate in Juarez today. Apparently as of March 1st, 2011 you must complete a DS-260 and schedule appointment at http://mexico.usvisa-info.com. Please see my attached letter for all those going to similar consulate. Thanks :)

Hi Everyone. I used the NEW Visa Appointment system to schedule my SIL appointment. I feel its stupid that i got to pay another 10 bucks to make an appointment is that silly or what. So in other words we are paying for their outside vendor maintained site. Foolishness. SO all this time i been waiting to make her appointment. I get one and its next week lol. So that means they had appointments alllll alllongggggg. They just never properly maintained their own site they had. Wow at any rate, im happy i did get the appointment. If ten bucks gets us in ok fine lmao. Its like hmmm they know folks want visas so of course they will pay. I think they think of us like that. Not fair but ok.

I hope they approve her. Also said on the site for proving ties to ur country is a letter from your employer, work contract or letter from school advisor. Her appointment is Wed 26th, 9:30AM.

Going to try out that new visa appointment scheduling system tomorrow. Now it didnt say anywhere that those who previously paid at paymaster are able to schedule also. Lets cross fingers, SIL has been waiting for months to get an appointment. We are gonna try the online one first n see how that goes.

Thanks for all the thoughts from the other thread -

So, to give the condensed version of my full story, which some of you here already know - When I broke my engagement to my ex, and walked away from him, something else decided to take a walk whistling.gif I was tired, run down, and surprise!!! Pregnant. My ex was useless and self centered, and totally not involved in my son's life. When he was 18 months, we were broadsided by a drunk driver and he was killed instantly - He was the light of my life and my joy - Yes, it was hard going through what I went through, but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason - My son was a wake up call to me to make some serious changes in my life, and now he's my angel.

Here are a few pics:

OMG...you have me crying here....I am soo sorry to hear this...your son is absolutely beautiful...He is definitely an angel... rose.gif rose.gif

We were in A the whole time (except to B for fingerprints) which threw me off. I did see a few people in Section C (I think it was that section - behind A, by the bathroom?)

Yes, Section A is near the bathroom. Section C is where you hear all the DRAMA.

Honey, the price may be high in April, because of Spring break...I would never travel again during spring break to Jamaica unless I had to. I thought they were going to have to lock me up on the flight.

there is another small room with windows by section A by the bathroom whats dat

That room is for US citizen inquiries like change of address in JA for social security checks, or register to vote, etc.

ok so now we know thanks shaunsgal... i wonder where they folks that work in the embassy live. do they have certain lil community for them or they can live wherever

Coco Bread

Ingredients
2 packets of yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
2 fl oz of warm water
1.5 teaspoon salt
6 fl oz warm milk
1 lightly beaten egg
3 cups white flour
4 oz melted butter

Directions
  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the water, then add in the milk, salt and egg while stirring.
  2. Pour half of the flour and stir. Then slowly add flour to the mixture until it becomes stiff. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. In a clean bowl, add oil and roll the dough in it until coated.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it rise for 1 hour. Cut the dough into 10 pieces and roll each piece out. Brush each rolled piece of dough with melted butter and fold it in half. Brush dough with more butter on and fold it again.
  4. Place the folded dough pieces on a well-greased cookie sheet and pre heat the oven to 425 degrees and place a pan filled with water on the bottom rack.
  5. Bake the coco bread for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.

I am def gonna try this. I love cocobread, but they dont sell it around here. Now I just need to figure out where to get yeast from. Where they sell that. blush.gif

in any grocery store some are in the cold section by the cheese and stuff in a packet resembling oodles of noodles seasonin packet or on shelf in the baking section

½ tsp. Salt

Sift flour and salt together. Cut in butter and shortening and add water to make dough. After making dough, place it in a plastic wrapping and keep the dough in the fridge for half an hour.

Remove the dough from the fridge and use a rolling pin to roll dough on a cutting board to a ¼ inch thickness. Flour the board first.

Using an 8-oz drinking glass, you can cut circles in the dough. Or use a cookie cutter to make the size of the pieces you desire. Pinch around the circled pieces of dough in a uniform pattern; this will give the decorated effect. You pinch the dough to make a holder for the filling.

Remove the dough pieces for the filling and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake the dough pieces at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. And then add the filling to the baked dough. Bake the gizzadas for another 20 minutes.

Allow to cool, and Presto!

Here is a way to cheat on this treat.
Buy the small pie shells (2" or 3") from the grocery store…and just add the coconut filling to the shells and bake them for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F.
