But if it was a gift, it wouldn't be the same, right? Mathews dad bought the car for Mathew. It's just always been in his dads name.

At least down here in the U.S., transferring a car through gift is free. I'm not sure about Canada though.

Mathew wants to bring his 2004 Toyota Corolla down with him whenever he moves. The car never had a loan or anything as his dad paid cash for it. But the car is in his dads name.

He's going to have to get that transferred isn't he?? Hopefully that part will be free. I know when my dad put his old car in my name they didn't charge anything because it was a family transfer.

By my LMP it is supposed to be December 18th, but since I have PCOS I don't always ovulate on time. We hadn't been trying since Janurary so I'm not 100% on when I ovulated, but based on my first ultrasound my official due date is December 29th. We go back this Friday for another ultrasound so we'll see if that date is still correct. I'd love to have the baby before Christmas!
 

 

Today I'm dying for a Boston Cream doughnut from Tim Ho's. Why can't my cravings be healthy and readily available? The closest Tim Ho's is in Dayton, OH which is about 2 and a half hours away. Ughhhhh!

It's so great that this thread is still active after so long. I haven't posted in the Canada subforum in a long time(barely post anywhere else either!), but I figure it's time to come back. :)

 

Last year before Mathew and I did our two rounds of IUI my RE had me take Clomid. It made me an absolute nutcase. I remember waking up in the middle of the night because he was snoring and wanting to push him out of bed or suffocate him with a pillow. ohmy.png I've never been more emotional and unstable in the my entire life as I was when I was on Clomid. I didn't like myself at all! 

 

We TTC'd for 3 years and the next step for us was supposed to be IVF because our RE said we would never get pregnant by ourselves, but in April we got a little surprise. Yesterday made 11 weeks! This baby is definitely half Quebecois, I woke up yesterday with the most intense craving for poutine from La Banquise. Thankfully we had some poutine sauce in the house or I might have made a spur of the moment Montreal trip! Got to love the fact that Mathew's mom brings mass quantities of the food he misses from back home when she visits.

That's GOOD news that moving doesn't automatically generate a RFE! I'm so glad. It has GOT to be just a random thing. Our ROC packet was as big if not bigger than the K-1 fiance petition packet and the AOS packet, so there was plenty of proof for them :) We mailed the RFE evidence back yesterday, so we are hoping it goes quickly once they receive it, but who knows :)


We got an RFE during AOS. The things they asked for were things that were not only included, but BRIGHTLY labeled, clipped together, and had a detailed table of contents for. This really makes me think that it is random, and that sometimes they just like to issue RFE's. When the file they are giving an RFE to has everything needed, they just request the same ####### anyway. It's extremely frustrating though. I was madder than a wet hen when my husband called and told me we had gotten an RFE!

We've gotten 3 emails from USCIS today all saying the same thing-- card production ordered. I never get tired of reading it, though. <3

Also, in reference to the moving and RFE thing. We moved into our new house in December after filing in August. We didnt get an RFE.

I also flubbed up and didnt do a change of address form for me (the USC). Like ever. We moved to fort Wayne in 2011 and I never submitted one for me but I did for my husband. When we moved in December I realized that I should have filed one all along, and did so, but I was almost certain it was going to cause us an rfe because at the time of filing USCIS had two separate addresses for us in their system.

And when I say two different addresses I mean that my husbands address was in Indiana and mine was in Kentucky. If that didnt throw up even enough of a red flag to get us an interview, I doubt it will be enough to cause someone an RFE. I could be wrong, but mine would have sounded more red-flagy than just simply changing your address after filing (which I also did) .

Bio- 10/03.

We haven't heard anything else since then, with the exception of a touch because of changing our address when we bought a house.

Ah, thank you for that. I still have an old copy of the I-751 instructions on my PC, and that clause isn't in the instructions I've got. My old instructions only say:

In Part 5 of the form, please make sure to include any conditional resident children applying with you in order to have their conditional basis removed, or they may file separately. Please remember to provide their A-number.

WOHOOO! I received 3 txt messages (lol) yesterday telling me to look at my case. I went online, checked it, and saw that I was approved and that my card was sent to production =D! I have had a rough path, and after all the money, the time, the tears, the stress... I seriously began to cry from happiness as soon as I saw the approval message hahahaha.... Yesterday night it was celebration night! OH, and my birthday is March 5th, so this was definitely an awesome birthday surprise! =D

Guys I'm wondering.
When you sent your evidence. Did you send the whole tax return and all pages for other supporting documents?
Because we sent only a few random pages from two tax returns and select pages from our testaments (where our names are and the pages with our signatures).
If we had sent everything, the whole packet would have been a BOOK.
Has anyone done that before and was that fine?

Here is the whole list of what we sent:


? Check for the filing fee under joint checking account with both names
? Copies of select pages from our joint 2010 tax returns
? Copies of select pages from our joint 2011 tax returns
? Copies of last will & testament as well as powers of attorney for each other
? Copies of account information showing joint bank accounts and mutual funds
? Copy of special power of attorney for my wife
? Car title, showing joint ownership of our Nissan Rogue
? Copies of our military IDs showing me as dependent
? Copies of boarding passes for a trip taken together to Europe, to visit my wife?s family
? Copies of Tricare and Metlife bills and notices showing me as the sponsor
? Copy of our latest lease agreement
? Copy of a card sent to us by our car insurance, 21st century with both names as addressees
? Copy of car registration with both names
? Copy of a car insurance policy with both names
? Copy of purchase agreement for our Nissan Rogue showing both our names as buyers
? Copy of a letter sent to us by a salesperson at our car dealership with both names on letter
? Copies of several receipts showing that we get both vehicles serviced at the same dealership
? Copy of life insurance election and certificate from Prudential showing my wife as primary beneficiary

Same thing i did , just a random pages,showing our Joint Filing Tax Return, for 2 years , i circled the pages showing our both name on it. here's my format.

Unfortunately my car ONLY has KM's on it so I would have to get the speedometer changed. Who would have thought this would be such a huge issue! ;)



It doesn't have the miles meter under it? Mathews odometer is only in KM, but his speedometer has them both.

Mathew didn't have any problems importing his car. He just got his letter of compliance and imported when he activated his visa. He didn't have to change anything on his car.

Funny thing, though. When he took his drivers test the other day(Kentucky requires you to) he said the lady had a look of terror whenever she saw how fast he was going. I guess she didn't realize that his car shows kilometers where American cars shows miles. :P I guess I would have been terrified too if someone was going 80 down a little tiny street like that.

Medisys told Mathew that he couldn't pick his results up any sooner than 3 days when he did his. Unless they've changed their policies I don't think you'll be able to do them both in one day unless you want to delay your visa. Montreal wont issue your visa without the medical so you'd be waiting for them to eventually open up all of their mail, process that, print the visa, and then mail it to you. That would at the very least add a month, but probably more(at least by what we've been seeing when other VJers have had to send them something).

Just because it was rejected doesn't mean that it's some awful thing. Maybe he wrote the check out wrong, maybe he forgot to sign the I-129F, etc. Just calm down in the meantime and whenever your petition gets back to you, you can see what went wrong and then re-send it! :)

Did you happen to include EVERYTHING that was listed in the guides here?

You have to call between like 2:30-4:00 EST otherwise all it will do is ring. They only answer calls between certain times.

Mathew got a secured credit card when he first moved down here, and he added me as an authorized user(they asked for SSN and DOB on the webform). It made MY credit score jump 10 points the first month. He's had his card for 2 months now and his score is in the 700s. I had heard on here that sometimes banks look at secured cards a little wary, but when I look at Mathew's credit report all it shows it Capital One, nothing about the type of card. But I guess we'll see when he decides to apply for something new. :thumbs:
