CanadaWhat's For Dinner - Part Deux
I didn't feel like cooking so we're ordering from a small diner that delivers. Can't get any easier!

Tomorrow I'm thinking of making either cheese stuffed pasta or meatloaf. Can't decide which one and the hubby is no help. He just keeps saying he'll eat whatever.

Try talking to your doctor about trying a different brand of metformin, or even metformin ER (extended release).. It might be easier on your stomach. My bff's sister who has pcos got pregnant and has a 1 year old boy now.. so don't give up hope.

I've figured out a workaround for my tummy issue with it. I have to take the pill 10 minutes before I eat and I'm pretty much fine. Anything before, or after that, well... :dead: I didn't know they had different types of it though, so when I go back to the doctor next week I'll talk to her about seeing if I can change to something that may be easier for me.

well all after not having my monthly visitor since the end of December and after a bunch of negative pregnancy tests it turns out I have PCOS... I just found out this morning... the doc wants me to go back on BC but I can't because of my liver mass.. so he suggested the Mirena IUD..

I have PCOS too. If you can't/won't go back on birth control what they can do is prescribe you Glucophage(Metphormin). I'm not gonna lie, this ####### is terrible. You and the bathroom will become BFF's, but it seems to work. I found out I had it when I was 11 and then I had a flare up 6 months ago, and my doctor wanted me to try this. PCOS is one of the roughest things you'll go through if you ever have a ruptured cyst, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to have children. Mathew and I have been trying for 3 months(or as we put it, we're stopping the not trying lol) and still nothing. :(

Thats what I told him, that maybe it wasn't the job for him. He graduated from ETS in Montreal in the top 10% of his class, and CAE gave him outstanding reviews, so he's a great engineer. He re-read over the job description that he's interviewing for tomorrow and he says that this is a much better job and that he's way more qualified for this new job than the other one. I know my man will do awesome, it's just keeping his confidence up that's the hard part. He's a perfectionist and always super hard on himself.

Fingers crossed, everybody!

So Mathew didn't get the job he interviewed for last week. :( But on the bright side, he flies out tomorrow to go back to Cedar Rapids to interview for a different job with Rockwell. He was so upset last night, but today he's confident about his skills and the interview he has monday. I just hope his morale stays up enough to wow them at this interview. I can't stand to see him upset again.

Sooo the hubby goes to Iowa Monday for a job interview at Rockwell Collins. I'm sooooo excited, and praying that my boss lets me have monday off so I can fly there with him. I've already got Tuesday off for the return flight, but he's a pretty nice guy so I'd say he'll let me have it.

The hubby seems to really like Herr's ketchup chips. I found them one day at Wal-Mart and decided to try them. Now I have to go searching for them because he loves them so much. I think they're like a seasonal flavor that Herr's does. They've also got a Baby Back Rib flavor out right now that really actually tastes JUST LIKE ribs, lol.

See I don't get all that fun with Mathew. That silly quebecer doesn't say any of the funny Canadian words. Doesn't stop my uncle from asking him what's that aboot though, lol. He just cusses in french and sometimes he'll talk to me without realizing that he's not doing it in english, but that cracks me up every time. He'll look at me for like 30 seconds, waiting for me to say something back and then all of a sudden he'll realize that I didn't understand a word of it! ;p

I can never get used to the way some of you Canadians write your dates. It drives me up the wall when Mathew puts the date before the month, but I guess I'm just a stubborn American like that. :P When I saw krikit say that Chickaflick wasn't married yet I was like "whhhaaaaa? Looks to me like she got married in January!"

If they have an Asian section in the store you're shopping in, it's more than likely there. That's where I've always had to find sesame oil in the area that I live.

Mathew applied for a job today. The hiring process at Lexmark is long enough to where his EAD will arrive before he'll have an interview. Sucks that it takes that long, but it works out for us. And tomorrow we're going to look at our second house. I've got a good feeling about this one, and I really love the neighborhood.

I think I'm mostly just so opposed to it because when I was a baby I spent a lot of time at my grandmothers house. So much in fact, that I called my Aunt(who lived there too) "Mommy" first. That would absolutely crush me if my child were to call someone else mommy before me.

Daycares aren't all that bad. There's some around here that have a webcam set up so that mommy can go to the website and view whats going on there any time of day. I think that's really neat and useful, especially if you sense that something is amiss. However, a newborn should never be put in a daycare. I don't know how some of these women do it. They're stronger than me, and I don't even have a child!

I highly suspect that we wont have to worry about the daycare issue. Between his mom and my mom I'm sure that grandma will be there to save the day whenever it's needed, and sometimes when it's not! My mom is obsessed with bathing babies, and is very proud to tell people that I NEVER had a diaper rash, lol. My 15 month old cousin actually walks to the bathtub whenever she goes to see him. He knows whats about to happen! :P

Mathew and I have an agreement that when it's time for babies I'm going to stop working until it at least goes to school. His profession(whenever he gets a job :() will pay enough for only one of us to be working and I don't like the idea of someone I don't know taking care of my baby. Every day you see little children getting abducted on CNN and I'm just not comfortable with having another person raise my child. I'm not sure if it's my job or if it's KY state law, but we get 8 weeks of paid maternity leave so at least there's that upside.

But seriously? $4 an hour? That chick must be smoking crack or something. And I bet her kids are little demons.

Congrats Sprailenes!

Speaking of bosses...my boss quit yesterday. Just like walked out and quit. Oh yeah, and it was during our audit! The auditor thought that we were joking and that he left for lunch but when he didn't come back The Terminator(our affectionate new name for him, LOL) was really freaked out. Said he'd never had that happen to him before. Never really thought he'd have a meltdown and leave just because of an audit.

Did I mention we got a good score? :bonk: After all that drama, he quits for nothing.

CanadaWhat Are You Reading?
Mathew's mom got me The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the rest of the books in the series a couple of Christmases ago. I attempted to read it, but it bored me to tears. I'll probably try again, but I'm so obsessed with my new kindle that I can't put it down.

I found some books on kindle written by Amanda Hocking, and I'm hooked on her. I've read her Trylle series and the My Blood Approves series. In two weeks. I normally don't go for books like that, but they were all less than $3 a piece. But, now that I'm finished I have to find something else to read. :crying:

Decided to pick up the Sookie Stackhouse books to see what all of the fuss was about. Extremely easy read, but I can't complain. Next I'll have to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo that Mathew's mom got me for Christmas last year. Tried to read it once before, but just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll have better luck next time.

Mathew is getting really depressed that he can't find a job. He's applied for over 10 in the last month and hasn't gotten called on any of them. He's very qualified, has all of his degrees, and even held a NATO Security Clearance in Canada. CAE begged him to stay and work for them when he left and now he can't even get a nibble. It just really, really frustrates me that there's nothing I can do to make it better. :(

F you, job market.

Ugh. So my mom has her new boyfriend here at the house and I know it's rude, but I just had to get up and walk out. I've never seen someone as arrogant and inappropriate as this man. I mean, really. He just told her right in front of mathew and I that he wanted to rub nut butter all over her naked body and that he wanted to buy her a stripper pole. That's not something you say in a room full of people you've never met and especially not in front of the child of the woman you're dating, regardless if she's married and grown up or not. Just seems really disrespectful.

I guess it's safe to say that I am NOT a fan of this man. He makes me want to gag myself with a spoon.

Well, I mean it was Mathew's fault totally, but the mailman KNEW Mathew lived there. And it's an apartment building with like 6 tentants, and their names are on the mailboxes. It couldn't have been that hard to be like "Hmmm...Mathew Gervais....AH! Mathew Gervais! Box 6!". But noooo, he had to send it back to Montreal and we just so happened to get a hold of the dumbest Congressmans Aide alive. I felt so crappy for calling the Consulate and using the death of a US citizen as an option to get to speak to someone, but that lady was so helpful. I really believe that if it hadn't of been for her we probably still wouldn't have it.

And after being told by DOS a thousand times that we were in AP, or that the visa wasn't printed has made me totally lose my faith in them having the right answers all the time. That visa had been printed and mailed way before I ever called for the first time, and we STILL got told a billion different stories.

11 p.m. is quite late for fireworks, especially exploding ones. Unless it were a weekend, I would think 9 would be "last call" for that sort of stuff. I have read that cruelty to animals at a young age is quite often a harbinger. I would be careful with your dog around them.

Yeah, you would think. I wouldn't have minded so much if they had been like some bottle rockets or firecrackers, but these were like almost commercial grade. They live almost a mile from me but it sounded like it was happening in my back yard so I really feel sorry for the people that live closer to them.

I definitely keep him away from them now. He's so traumatized from everything he went through because of them that he's not very friendly to some people. He hates other dogs, can't stand any sort of ATV, and gets scared when there's loud noises. You'd think he was this awful dog until you actually get close to him. Then he's all lovable and cuddly. People have been surprised from what they thought he was like, and then what he was like when they met him. All he wants is some love and cuddles, but these little demons better stay far far away. He's been through so much but he's held up really well.

Do you really need an excuse to set off fireworks? :innocent:

Nope, they need no excuse. I love them, personally. What I don't love is someone setting off the big huge booming ones after 11pm when lots of people have to work the next day. What I don't love even more is to do this for 45 minutes to an hour and then act surprised when someone complains about it, and then they proceed to act like I'M a horrible person and like I'm suggesting that their kids not be allowed to have ANY sort of fun. She acts like she's such a wonderful person and like I'm out to get her and that she's never done anything, but it was her who chose to not discipline her kids when they were hitting my dog repeatedly with their 4-wheeler when he was a puppy. She chose not to discipline them when they threw rocks at him, and when they would chase him and punch him. She did, however choose to be the first to complain when he started growling at them when he got bigger and when he began chasing their 4-wheeler. I've been the nice one and didn't complain or whatever, I just put him on a tie-out to where they couldn't get to him and vice versa. But honestly, why should I be the accommodating one when she's obviously not? I should let him free and hope he takes a bite out of every one of them.

Funny, my parents never felt the need to piss other people off by setting off loud fireworks on a day that doesnt really matter to make us happy. (actually they never set of fireworks for us but I don't care, I hate the people who do that here too)

I know! I was like ####### it's the middle of September and who celebrates Labor Day anyway? I mean, I'm not even sure what it's for other than a day off work for state employees. Absolutely no reason for it but according to her I'm an awful person for trying to ruin their fun.

Ugh...One of my stupid family members that I never ever speak to freaked out on me on facebook today because I posted last night saying that my dog was terrified of the fireworks being shot. Apparently these were the people shooting them and she took it like I was attacking her. She's so stupid, I refused to even fight with her. But seriously, if you're out at 11 at night in the middle of September(when it's 50 degrees outside during the night), someone is probably going to get pissed that you're shooting a boatload of fireworks off. She kept saying that once I had kids I'd understand that you'd do things to make them happy, but that wasn't the issue. The issue was that it was 11pm on a weekday(you know, people gotta work the next day!), and that they were shooting the insanely loud kind for about 45 minutes. My dog almost ripped his doghouse to shreds and I'm supposed to feel like a bad person? Rightttt. Tards.

I also wish that ours didn't hate each other so much. It's been almost 4 months and they still run at each other and hiss everyday.
