Oh no Krystle. Whatever it is, doesn't sound good. Sending plenty of thoughts your way to get you through this. But you're tough and he's tough. If you can get through what you're already been through you can do just about anything. I just know that everything is gonna be okay and that you'll work it out. :luv:

I can't believe it's already been a year. It doesn't feel like a year. But we've sure been through everything they can throw at us, and we came out of it looking like stars. ;)

Sooo Mathew and I were taking a nap and then all of a sudden my phone goes off. Now I'm the type of freak that has to see my phone RIGHT NOW when something goes off on it. So when I look at it, what do I see?? A text saying we were transferred to CSC.

Jenn, you could probably make some big money off of your predictions. Care to predict the lottery numbers?? :innocent:

Well it looks like USCIS got our RFE response. I got touches on both the EAD and AOS and an email saying that it is under RFE response review. I guess that just means that they are looking to see if I submitted what they asked for and then they'll start processing again like normal.

The RFE made it there but I freaked out for a minute when I checked the tracking and it said that a notice left and that they would return to sender after 5 days. So of course I called Customer Service and asked them why they would leave a notice at a PO box and not just put it IN the box. He said it was because it's express mail and that they will just put a little card in the mailbox and the mailpickerupper person will just have to walk to the counter and get it.

So I guess I can breathe easy again!

Yep today is biometrics. I'm sitting in the car right now waiting for him to get out. It should be pretty straightforward. I don't see this taking more than 30 minutes since the parking lot is empty. But I gotta pee so bad I hope it takes less LOL. I stopped at a gas station but someone was camped out in there so I've gotta wait until after he's done.

Hurry hurry! ;)

Well, we got it today. And I'm absolutely LIVID. It's all for things I submitted!! They just lost the stuff!

Basically it's for the ENTIRE I-864 and I-864A package(which was clipped together with a black acco fastener). They want it all. I KNOW I included it in that package, because the day I sent it out I had to go to moms office and have her sign her portion, then I put it in the envelope and sealed it.

Whatever. Tomorrow I'm overnighting the I-864/864A, tax returns for 2009 for the both of us including w-2s, PLUS the tax transcripts. Try and RFE me again over the same thing and we're gonna roll, USCIS. :ranting:

ick...so sorry Kayla! seems like it's usually either related to the medical/vaccination stuff or financial (2009 tax returns, w2s etc). I can't remember - what did you send in for the medical stuff, did you do the "fill out part 2 & 5" of the medical form option or just send the vaccination form?

We just sent in the vaccination form. I even included a note on the cover page saying that I was only including that because his medical was done on Jan. 5th and that it was in the packet handed over at POE. I'm going to bet that they've lost it. I double and triple checked everything that I sent in. Everything was signed, dated, and all forms were up to date.

It's just annoying that we'll lose some time over this even if it is a small amount of time.

got RFE. :(

I know it's not the end of the world or even a terrible thing(at least it means they were working on it!), but it's still a horrible, sinking feeling.

I can't even imagine what it would be for. I had everything they ask for. I pay a lot of attention to this kind of stuff. :bonk:

Maggie just make sure that you re-fill out your AOS with the latest forms. Lots of July filers got their packages returned(not RFE's) for having out of date forms. I'd hate to see you have to wait longer for something like that.

Charleston is 2 and a half hours away so I think we'll just wait for the appointment date. It's only 11 days away so I don't see it making THAT much of a difference. Now if it were 3-4 weeks away we probably would though.

I've heard that lately it's actually FASTER to have an interview so I don't know which one I'd prefer. Generally I'd love to get out of another one of those fantastic interviews, but if it gets him his greencard faster I'll do what I gotta do.

Let's just hope that CSC picks up and that we both get transferred! But at least we're in this mess together. :luv:

So Maggie has been living in the states for what, 3 months now? And just today it dawns on me that I have a friend living on the same base as her. I don't know why it never occurred to me until now.

We haven't had any more touches since the 26th and no biometrics letter. I know it's bound to take some time, but y'all know how impatient I get!

It didn't really take all that long. I applied for my new SSN on tuesday, and got it Friday. Then I went to the DMV the following Monday and changed my DL and walked straight over to the bank. I am none to happy about replacing my passport though. We are newlyweds and I'm only working part time. I think we collectively have about 500 left in the bank after the AOS fee just came out. And we are still trying to move. We could cash out some of his stocks and transfer it here but we are saving that for a rainy day.

I don't think there's a deadline for changing your passport, it just needs to be done before you travel.

I think he would be adorable with your last name. ;)

First thing I did was go to the SSA office and get it changed there. They just ask to see a copy of your marriage license. Then once that comes in you can go to the DMV and get that, mine cost me $12. I haven't don't the passport thing yet since it's $110 to that. I can't believe they raised their prices so much on this stuff.

Everything else can be changed after you get both your card and your license. I know my bank asked for it.

So I took mathew to the hustler store tonight just for the heck of it and I've never seen him act so scared! It was so cute.

But there was an old man on one of those scooter things with a huge hustler bag driving down the street. By far the funniest thing I've seen all day. He was every bit of 70 years old. Lol

PhilippinesInterview June 4th for my wife and child

My wife and my stepchild are supposed to be in Manila on June 4th for there interviews. I would like to get a idea on what kind of questions they are asking. I went over the Wiki search engine for some answers, and if they start asking some of the questions on that list, my wife is in trouble. There is no way she is going to remember my ex-wife's name, where I worked and did for a living, what my daughter's name is, ect.. I had a very nasty divorce right before my new wife got married, so there wasn't a lot of talk about my ex-wife. My wife's english is not very good, and I think she should probably ask for a interpeter to assist her so she can better understand the questions. She will not be able to answer questions like, how much child support I have to pay, alimony, ect..

Also, the only proof that we have for our marriage is the phone bills that I saved with here phone number on it, wedding photos, and all the Western Union receipts that I have saved for money that I sent to her. Also one more thing, how about a cenomar? Why would I need that if she is married? I have NSO copies of marriage certificates and birth certificates.

Do I have something to worry about here? Are they really going to be asking all these questions?
thanks,
martinbr

Hello ! Martin,
I could give you advice ,about the Cenomar, It'a Absolutely required for her to pass the Interview, They will Honor the Cenomar that been requested by You ,The Petitioner, even She can do it to apply by herself, that is not the One USCIS to be Accepted But the One you did, By Applying It, thru Online, Pay it On Line Amounting USD 25.00 You have to go to www.eCensus.com.ph This how You wiil do it,Fill Up All Important Questions, Requester's Name: IS YOU, Delivery Address: U S Consulate General PHILIPPINES COMPLETE ADDRESS ,Request Type: CENOMAR, your wife name,Her Birth Day ,Her Birth Place.Ensure you Print it Out the Acknowledgement Notification, 2 pages,And Send it to your wife, for her to Bring to the Interview date. CENOMAR will be Directly send to US PHILIPPINES BY THE NSO PHILIPPINES. CENO MAR- means Certificate of No Marriages, if Appears She is Married, She must Have to prove, that Marriages is Already Annulled, and Already Married to you By Showing Your Marriages Certificate. If She is A Single mom before had kids but not Married, you have nothing to Worry, It will Appear to CENOMAR ,that She will no Records of Married. GOD BLESS YOU ! Good LUCK.

Philippinesgoing to the philippines.a few questions

to start out i know this is for the spousal visa and im sure some of the questions that i ask have already been asked before, but for my sake and to get some new info and everything.i would like to ask these questions anyways...

1 question i have is that i plan on going to the phils around september of 2010....my gf and i have been dating for over 3 years.....i want to know around the minimum and average every1 thinks i should bring to the phils with me.amount of money....when i go there.ill stay with her and her sister at an apartment that her and her sister rent out.my gf just graduated from college march 30 and is now looking for work.im not going there to spend a lot of money on anything special.im going there to just spend time with her.maybe take her out on a date or 2 but thats about it.i dont wanna bring anything back with me(well except her but need to get married first.which is another question ill ask).

so just staying with her and her sister for 3 weeks.how much money do i need for food, water, and simple things like that?and maybe a few dollars to take her on some dates like a movie.but basically just staying at her apartment bcuz thats all we really wanna do to spend the most time together and not be bothered by anything or any1..

another question is....how much does it cost to get married thru like a judge or justice of the peace or equivalent there?maybe having her sister and possibly her parents there(her parents r against us and she moved out of her parents home bcuz she got tired of them treating her so badly.so now she doesnt talk to them much)..

my plan was to save 1000 US dollars as i have read that should be enough for what i want on other sites.but rather hear from people on here about it as well.again i dont plan on buying anything or bringing anything back.just wanna spend time with her alone with the exception of her sister.and i already have a plane ticket ready for me.all i need is the money for there and to get out of the manila airport.i dont like spending a lot of money and my gf doesnt either.she isnt a big spender even if i send her a lot of money in terms of the philippines.she will make 100 dollars last over a month after paying her tuition fee and buying feminine products.

if i remember anything else ill post.a little more.sorry for it being so long and everything.just excited and now tired, have work early in the morn.

HI!

I Think I can give you A Better Advice for what you are looking for, A right Answer ,well, it's Up to you if you Believe me, But I 'm Doing this , just simply Because this Site Helped my Husband to do everything right in Favor of Me. Yes, like What Other site you mention is Right for A thousands US is Morethan enough, like just what you say, She's not a big Spender, BUT you Don't need to Bring it All in CASH, Just prepare at least 500 US dollar, and before you go to the Philippines, Ensure, you Up date your Visa Debit Card if you have, and Inform your Card Company that you are going Out of US , and you need to Activate it for Overseas Use, and you have to do it one week before you leave US,in doing that you are free Worry at All,Also you mentioned , you have A place to Stay, that is another favor to you Because you don't need to Spent too much money, for A place to Stay,I f She lives in Manila, my thoughts to you about Transportation, don't get Conned, Philippines Airport has a Public Transport Taxi Which you will pay only By meter, A Yellow Airport Taxi,Run by two Company, Either one you can get, BUT PLease Ignore Whoever asking you , for A ride, after you get Out of the Airport Directly Look to your Girlfirend, then ,Look Around to the The Yellow Taxi,Hop iN and be Happy. God Bless YOu.

Share your stories, like how you met, what attracted you to them (phyically and emotionally) and what cultural differences and similarities you guys had and how you managed to stay together. :D

I'll share mine later. =)

CanadaWeather & Road Report
Well we ended up with 9 inches of snow at my house total during the last snowstorm, topped off with a lot of freezing rain. I just went outside to feed the dog and the entire yard is covered in a sheet of ice at least 2 inches thick. Good thing Dante has a heated blanket in his house. He's all cozy and warm, so I put his food right near his house. He probably wont bother to come out at all today.

Great. Mathew and I are leaving for Iowa on Monday, and this weekend we're expecting a snowstorm carrying almost a foot of snow this weekend. Now, normally this wouldn't be a problem in a well prepared place. But this is Eastern Kentucky. We don't usually get a lot of snow or snowstorms so we'll probably be snowed in and driving to the airport will be awful. Maybe they'll break out the salt trucks early. Let's hope.

CanadaCooking schools /courses
To go to the community college where I go I paid something like $1400 a semester plus your supplies(with my uniform($100), kit($200) and books($200 yay Amazon) it was around $500). I definitely agree to steer clear of the bigger culinary schools you see on TV. They'll charge you tens of thousands of dollars and fill you with promises of a job after graduation but it never happens. My school just had a career fair for the hospitality students so that they could meet with employers and hand out resumes, and I think that's really awesome to help students out like that.
Kayla*MathewFemaleCanada2011-10-14 19:43:00
CanadaCooking schools /courses
I started cooking school this semester and while its a lot harder than I thought it'd be, it's also a lot of fun. Granted, I'm going for Baking and Pastry and that's time consuming in itself just to do at home. The best upside to going to cooking school(at least as my school) is that there's tons of leftovers to take home. I'm not kidding you, I brought home over 5 dozen dinner rolls today from Baking Class.

If cooking is something that you like I'd at least take one or two courses at a local college to see how you like it in a school setting and then decide from there. The only downfall to going to school for cooking for me is the stupid checked pants they make us wear. :(

I didn't feel like cooking so we're ordering from a small diner that delivers. Can't get any easier!

Tomorrow I'm thinking of making either cheese stuffed pasta or meatloaf. Can't decide which one and the hubby is no help. He just keeps saying he'll eat whatever.
