PhilippinesCFO question...
QUOTE (marriedtomrg @ Aug 16 2009, 08:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi rockhouse.

No, she doesn't need your passport.

An applicant may get the CFO Certificate (Green) so that they can apply for or renew their Philippine passport in the family name of their foreign spouse. The K3 Visa is not required to attend the Guidance and Counselling Session, just the Filipina's passport, a copy of the marriage certificate, the completed form (which they will give you at SMEF-COW), and the fee of Php 250. They asked me to present my birth certificate also.

Then the Filipina spouse attends the counselling session (which is roughly 3 hours long --- there is a briefing as a group, followed by individual counselling). After the session, the Filipina spouse will be issued the CFO blue certificate and she will be asked to go to the CFO office at the back (at SMEF-COW, CFO has a satellite office at the back of the building) and pay Php 400 for the green certificate which you need to get a passport in your foreign spouse's name.

To get the CFO sticker, they have to wait for the K3 visa to be issued. Only then can the Filipina spouse return to CFO to get the sticker. If there are any K4 visa holders (12 years old and below), the Filipina spouse may bring their passports, visas and the fee for the sticker.

#6 doesn't apply to K Visa applicants, just CR1/IR1 Visa holders.

where did u get that information that K3 applicants is not required to attend the CFO??

PhilippinesCFO question...
QUOTE (rockhouse @ Aug 14 2009, 08:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok, here's what's listed as needed to register for the CFO:

1. Original valid passport;
2. Original and photocopy of visa;
3. One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph;
4. One (1) valid identification card with photograph;
5. Original and photocopy of Confirmation of Permanent Residence (for CANADA-bound emigrant);
6. Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary (for USA bound emigrant);
7. Original and photocopy of letter of approval for Work to Residence visa (for New Zealand bound emigrants);
8. Photocopy of employment contract(for immigrant workers);
9. Duly completed registration form (downloadable at www.cfo.gov.ph);
10. Payment of P400.00 registration fee; and
11. Attendance in the PDOS or peer counseling session;

Number 1? I thought a copy of the passport is fine. Number 2? I thought the CFO could be taken BEFORE the interview! And what is number 6?

your #1 question

she needs her passport to get a sticker

#2 she can get a CFO before the interview but she cant get a sticker so instead of going back and fort its advisable to go there after she have the visa on hand

and #6 immigrant data summary is for CR1/IR1 visa only

Good evening all.

We were just wondering what happens to someone that show up at the Manila airport without a CFO Sticker. Where do they stop you?

1. Ticket Counter before issuing Boarding Pass?
2. 1st Immigration checkpoint behind where you pay the Airport tax?
3. 2nd Immigration checkpoint Just before you board the Plane to USA?
4. Immigration checkpoint in USA after the plane? (Yikes!)

Mostly I'm wondering if the airline (PAL for me) would stop you and give you a chance to refund your ticket. I have been hearing rumors here in the Philippines that this person and that left Philippines for USA without the CFO Sticker.

Cheers...

i wonder if that "someone" was is in a deep dream or was in a fantasy world when she/he said that...as i attended the seminar, counselor has told to everyone of us that WE can not leave the country WITHOUT the CFO sticker. period! wacko.gif

I think we had a good reason why i did not show up during my appointments but it does not mean that i wasn't serious about my marriage or in our relationship. When I had my first appointment my husband was here in Philippines and he resigned at his job and believe that he will stay here for good but he wasn't in good shape after 10 months to stay so he decided to go back in U.S.A (we lived together for 13 months) The medical exam was already paid in BPI, i know it was a waste and it hurt me a lot but we are having a problem about money so that was the main reason why we had to cancel the 2 appointments but I hope there will be another chances for us. We are almost 9 months apart from each other since he left , i hope the embassy will understand. But right now I am studying and i have almost 8 months to go before my graduation day. My husband want me to go and visit him during my semestral break this coming october, so we are planning about visitor/tourist visa would it be possible? I will only stay atleast 2 weeks and back in phils to finish my school and if so does anyone could give me all the details if what are the requirements or documents needed???please help

i dont think visitors visa is possible.. we tried that before when i was still in PI and we were just trying to decide whether to stay in manila or just settle down here in the states but the US embassy said they really dont give tourist visa to american citizen's spouse. :-(.. so sorry bout that.

I agree. Since you are married to an American, there is a presumption that you're gonna stay in the United States and not returning to the Philippines. Little or no chance at all that the US Embassy will give you a visitor's visa unless you can show strong ties to the Philippines.

I am so disappointed that a little chances or might not at all but if this is the reality then i think i would just stay till I finish my school and might my husband could make enough money by then. But i have one question , would it be possible that the company or the owner of the company where my husband is working now could be a co-sponsor even if we are not related to him??? I hope to hear you guys soon

Thanks!!!!

base sa mga nababasa ko USEM MANILA they dont accept co sponsor and if they do close relatives lang ang pwede like father, mother, siblings call the Embassy and ask kung ano ang pwede nyong gwin bka u need to start all over again goodluck

PhilippinesPOE Questions
QUOTE (jamster0105 @ Aug 22 2009, 09:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone,

My wife will be traveling here on tuesday night, and her POE will be Guam. For those people who have already traveled to the US, what are some of the things my wife should expect upon first time POE into the US? What kind of questions will they ask her? How long does it normally take? I'm concerned because she only has a 90 minute layover, then she needs to depart for her connecting flight. I want her to be prepared so that she can go through quickly. Also, if she is traveling with our US citizen son, can she get into the US citizen line at the POE or should she go through non US citizens line? I hope my questions can be answered. Thanks everyone! smile.gif

my POE was Atlanta they didnt asked me anything they just get my thumbmark signed the paper and remind me to lift my status after 2 yrs and thats it.
dont worry she'll be fine wink.gif

My girl tried to make it easier on herself and also save money so she copied and pasted all of our email evidence into Microsoft Word. So basically it looks like a document rather than an authentic email. All of the dates, and the smileys are on the word file, but it's still not like a printed email page.
I'm thinking that maybe this would be an issue with the C.O.
Any thoughts?
BTW, please only people that have had the interview or heard first-hand about this subject respond.....thanks.

thank you God for answering my prayers, thank you VJ for all the help, i wouldnt have made it without you !

it would mean more work to be done but then , it is better to be sure .

Nope, that wont really help. As I have said just bring your original transcripts and the accredited agency will evaluate it for you, sometimes they will send a form to your university and have it filled out and the university will send it back to the agency. As I have told you, I have been through this so I can tell you the red ribbons wont help you at all. even at the USEM when I have my BC authenticated with that red ribbon, they said it is NOT necessary.

yes the BC we are submitting to US embassy think dont need a red ribbon.. but need to be printed in a NSO Security paper and i think they have a scanner for identifying if the the docu. is real or fake.... pls. correct me if i am wrong... thank's....

So, if the CEMAR is the Certificate of Marriage the what the heck is the NSO Document I have that actually bears the title of "Certificate of Marriage" and is the same document my wife & I signed in front of the Mayor of Paniqui in Mom's living room?
