PhilippinesCFO seminar in Manila.

Great. Thanks for the information. But are you absolutely sure about the marriage certificate? According to the CFO website, they require "certified true copy and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office, or Local Civil Registry Offices".

What we currently have is her original certificate from the Municipal building that we were married in. That should be all we need, right? The NSO copy of our marriage contract was kept by the US Embassy after her interview. Will it be returned when she receives her VISA from Delbros?

Is a copy machine available at PRISM? According to the website, she needs to make a photocopy of her Immigrant Data Summary. But isn't that inside of the envelope that she is prohibited from opening?

Thanks
-Mark

since you are K3 i dont think you will have the Immigrant Data Summary IDS is stapled outside the yellow envelope

PhilippinesSome K1 Q's: Military member currently in Germany w/ Fiancee in Philippines

Also FYI, When you get your orders ammended, and she joins you in Germany, you DO get to file a voucher for her. Include all of your visa fees, and everything associated with getting her visa. You will also get reimbursed for her airfare, and she'll get per diem. Good to know info!

thats what my husband did :)

Another additional question: I have the certificate already but no sticker yet, can I have the sticker in the airport? Or I have to go to the CFO office?

i would say dont push your luck at the airport i never heard any success story of getting the sticker at the airport even though they say you can get it there better to get it at the CFO office if you want to board your plane on the same day.

Philippineshelp adjustment of status for 10 years GC..

From what i understand, you have to file within 90 days before the expiration date on your permanent residence card (green card)...

DianneWalgreens, I was looking at your time line and you received your green card 6/29/2009. My 2 yr conditional GC expires 11/18, 2010 since i got it Nov 18, 2008... then that means i will have to file my GC from between aug 21-nov 18, 2010. But I will probably send out my packet aug 25 this year to be sure.

If you both got your greencard second quarter and onwards of 2009, you probably have to remove conditions in 2011....

Am i right?

YES, i just looked at my passport stamp it says it will expire may 4, 2011 that means i have to file for removing of condition 90 days before may 4, 2011 since i got here may 5, 2009 and from what i understand again the stamp on your passport @ POE serves as your GC when you got here

Philippineshelp adjustment of status for 10 years GC..

If you are filing jointly, the I-751 form must be filed within the 90 days just preceding the expiration date on your permanent residence card. This is the date that your conditional residence expires. Note that, despite the fact that you may see word "anniversary" used in a confusing way regarding the filing date for removal of conditions, your wedding date is completely irrelevant to determining the window of time during which you may file for removal of conditions. If you and your spouse are outside the United States on orders of the U.S. Government during the period in which the petition must be filed, you may file it within 90 days of your return to the United States. See the USCIS webpage for more specific instructions, and search the forum for stories of several people who have done this successfully.

It is very important to file the I-751 within the correct window of time, and be sure not to file it before the 90-day window. If you file it too early, they will send your application back. You may file at any time during the 90 day window, but it is prudent to file fairly early in the window.

If you fail to properly file the Form I-751 (Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence) within the 90-day period before your second anniversary as a conditional resident, your conditional resident status will automatically be terminated and the USCIS will order removal proceedings against you. You will receive a notice from the USCIS telling you that you have failed to remove the conditions, and you will also receive a Notice to Appear at a hearing. At the hearing you may review and rebut the evidence against you. You are responsible for proving that you complied with the requirements (the USCIS is not responsible for proving that you did not comply with the requirements).

thank you miamortueres  kinabahan ako dun a! my husband is deployed right now and it will be a little bit complicated for us to file for removal of condition if he's not here

i am also confused now..to make sure i better to call USCIS...thank you for the response guys...i really like VJ coz a lot of people here help each other.

Philippineswho's getting bored there

I found something to ease my boredom....I bought a new video card for my computer and a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It's a great time killer and even my fiance expresses that she wants to play this game too. $200 invested but now i'm not spending anymore money on entertainment outside of my house on the weekends.

hubby bought COD 2 before he left for deployment im not into video games but out of boredom while waiting for him to come back i got addicted to this game

PhilippinesMarry in USA or Philippines?

Hello,
I'm eager to get my fiancée to the USA. I met her while serving overseas in the US Army. I would like to know, what would easiest/smartest/ most effective route to getting her here. I'm considering going to Philippines and marrying her there and applying for k3 visa, or just apply for k1 fiancée visa here in the USA. Im willing to do whatever is necessary. What would be the best route? Thx

if you're still in the ARMED FORCES marry her in the Philippines and apply for expedited and go for CR1

QUOTE (Bob 4 Anna @ Dec 21 2009, 02:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Military Expedite, IIRC this is only an option if you're already married.

Processing times are neck-n-neck right now between CR & K Visas, the difference is NVC where K's are just pass through but CR do get the application Package & Affidavit of Support processed at NVC (process can be completed in a month if you're on your toes).

CR will cost less in the long run and she lands with a green card and authorized to work (if those matter to you).

If you qualify for the militayr expedite you might even be able to get the CR quicker than a K!

i agree good.gif have your wife in your orders too so u can get a free plane ticket when shes ready to come here and you will get paid also biggrin.gif

PhilippinesGuidance and counseling seminar?

Vicky just completed her medical, when she was there some of the other ladies there were telling her they had to attend a "guidance and counseling seminar" from the Dept. of Foreign Affairs.

We're doing a K1/ fiance visa. Is this a requirement for us?

Vicky's asking if she should do it, apparently it's in Quezon City.

It's the first I've heard of it, so I'm assuming it's for I-130 or CR1 filers??

Anyone know?

Thanks

PhilippinesSt. Luke's 2nd day

My fiance is in Manila and she's getting ready to do her 2nd day for the exam. She's scheduled for 7:30 AM but how long approx does it take to get outta there?

The reason being is that her plane leaves at 7:45 PM...but the problem is she's from Cebu and doesn't have her NBI clearance yet. Her interview is fastly approaching on Jan 19th. She's been told she can get the NBI very quickly in Manila so I want her to go get it after the medical and then go straight to the airport. It seems that it takes 3 days to get the NBI in Cebu City. She'll be back in Cebu on Tuesday night and could get the NBI Wednesday in Cebu if she had to...but I don't know if she can get it by Friday if all possible.

if her schedule is 7:30 she'll be out around lunch time or before lunch time about the NBI if shes lucky and her name is not a "HIT" she'll get it the same day but if her name is a "HIT" they will told her to go back after 3 days or 5 days im not sure i forgot already it was nov of 2008 when i got my NBI in Manila

Philippinesk1 NBI clearance and police clerance

The NBI clearance is valid for one year.

It's not needed during the AOS.

Keep your NOA2 and DS-325O, they are the ones that really matter during the AOS.

The pre-screener will ask you on the day of the interview, "Have you ever lived outside the Philippines?"

If you tell him no, he wouldn't bother to ask for a police clearance.

When I was researching here for old posts about medical experiences before I had mine, some people have written that it's best to go there around 5:3O a.m. or at 3 p.m. I went to SLMCEC at past 4 a.m. There were already people ahead of me but I got queue number 2 when they opened. I was done with all the tests at 9 a.m. and was told to go back the following day at 7 a.m.

Be at ease for the rest of the process.

Hakuna matata.

God bless us all.

FAE :luv:

i didnt mean you will need it for AOS theres a 2 category of NBI one is for local and one is for abroad like when you applying to go abroad (my bad)
RVIANE?FemalePhilippines2010-01-17 02:31:00
Philippinesk1 NBI clearance and police clerance

They close for lunch from 11-1 or 11:30 to 1, something like that. If you start your first day appointment at 1 p.m. you'll wait less time. Vicky did this too. Then when you go for the second day you can go early in the morning and everyone else will be starting and falling in line for what you've already completed and you'll go straight to the US physicians.

The NBI clearance is good for 6 months I believe, but I would agree with the previous poster. It's really inexpensive and simple to renew, so I would have a newer version. Don't forget to make and save a copy for your AOS later.

The police clearance is as the previous poster said, only required if you lived in any foreign country for 6 months or over since you were 16 years old.

Relax, Vicky said the interview was pretty easy and not too many questions.

on the second day they will tell you what time you have to go back

and the NBI is good for 1 year for abroad but i suggest you get your NBI 1 month before your interview

bring tons of prayers on your interview also goodluck
