Yay ! Tell yer friends how you were able to get it fixed in one day.

 

Seriously, the 'how' is important and should be shared. 

 

 

 

I called this morning and the lady I spoke to was very nice she gave me the case # and I let her know that we are not from the Dominica Republic but rather Dominica and what would I have to do to get it fixed, she asked me to hold and came back and said that the supervisor is going to work on it and I should check back on Friday. I went to the NVC case status website to see if I could look up the SDO# she gave me this afternoon and it said that the number did not exist so I called back and was given the correct # with a BGN for Barbados which is where the consulate it located. I really didn't do anything but asked.

The are going to fix it. Think it's just a matter of the person looking at the case seeing Dominica and thinking Dominican Republic. Happens all the time especially with people who are not aware that there is actually a country named Dominica. So now I have to wait for them to fix and reassign a BGN number for Barbados to the case.

Just says 'at NVC'. This whole process is terrible. Not only was I made to wait 8 months for approval it now looks like whilst most people only wait a few days at NVC mine could be stuck there for a while. sad.png

 

 

Well today marks a week that it has been at the NVC. Keep checking the status online. Another thing you can do is send them an inquiry at NVCInquiry@state.gov. Hopefully you get word soon. Think of it this way yes you haven't gotten the news that you are looking for but you are a lot further along in the process than some other people are. Imagine if you were still waiting for the approval. Like you said you waited 8 months for approval so what is a week or 2 to have your approved petition sent to the consulate for interview scheduling. Good luck and hold strong it's a trying process but a worthwhile one.

How long does a K1 application normally stay at the NVC for? Mines been there for a week now and nothing has happened. Was told on phone 2 days ago it was in transit but was told yesterday it was still at NVC sad.png

 

Hopefully it should be in transit soon. Let's hope that they are trying to get as much work out before the holiday on Monday. My case was received by NVC on 01/06/14 and issued a number and on 01/08/14 it was in transit to the consulate. They usually don't stay long at the NVC at least that is what I was told by an NVC rep, who stated to me about a week after it is entered in the system (Case # issued) it is forwarded to the local consulate. But as with everything when it comes to this process there is no definite or set time frame or procedure as to how these cases are actually processed.

 base on my experience about calling NVC  its crazy.  i  dont see any point calling them because is not helping. i dont know if anyone out here has different way of  tehniques,   they just  reading what is the system, i called them every other week same answers.    it said 10 to 20days. then why i have to wait a month.  i feel like frustrating getting  a case#. plus the representative kind mean.

 

well you could start off by telling them that you are aware of the standard wait time but you would just like to call and see if by any chance your case # has already been issued. That way you eliminate them having to give you that speech. that worked for me. Good luck

Just recently went through this with my mom. It took about 3 weeks to a month after her case was complete at NVC to receive the interview letter. Not sure if that is the case for all areas but that was my personal experience. Her case was complete in December and we received the letter on Jan 9th 2014 for an interview date of Feb 11th 2014.

Your next bet is to talk to your professors see if you can take them earlier or later. College professors are always willing to help in cases like that. I remember I was able to get my assignments & Tests deferred by 2 weeks to go to my sisters wedding out of the country so you can always explain the situation with them and see what they can do to help you. I do hope that you are able to work it out.

the embassy call my SO today and tell her that June 4 date now is set to June 22. is this something that they normally do because of overbooking and if so can we do anything about this. so far it has been about 11 months sense i hire my lawyer that has now close her office and now with delay after delay and this 4-6 month journey is now taking 10 -11 months. i am very upset and i think that we may never be together. huh.gif

how long does it take for them to deliver the visa. today is 2 weeks from the interview and we was approved. we keep calling the delivery company and they keep telling her they have the package in Medellin but will not let her pick it up and will not tell her when they might deliver it so she sits at home waiting instead of getting on a plane and coming here to be with me.

Q 1.i am applying for naturalization N 400 as 5 years of green card and i got green card 2/3/2009 and i think i am ok to apply citizen now???

If you are applying based on five years as a lawful permanent resident or based on three years as a lawful permanent resident married to a U.S. citizen, you may apply for naturalization up to 90 days before you meet the ''continuous residence'' requirement.
So yes you are eligible to apply for citizen now under the "90 days before you meet the ''continuous residence''" condition.
 

Q 2.i was married with USC and i got green card via marriage but we got divorced so i have to send divorce paper with application.

Q 3.this year in March i went to my country and i got marriage there so i have to send my 2nd marriage paper with application 

Q 4 and what else i have to send with application

Cleared interview yesterday with flying colors...
It was quick interview...
Reached at 2:00PM, finger print, picture taken, move to a different customer area. She was called at 2:30PM, and came back in 20 mins with a big smile.
Writing - Lincoln was president of United States
Reading - Abraham Lincoln was 3rd president of United States.
Civic Questions -
1. What is first 10 amendments called.
2. When was the declaration of independence adopted.
3. What Abraham Lincoln famous for
4. Name one Longest river of US
5. Name the speaker of the house
6. What does the constitution do

Oath scheduled next week 1/22/14.

Good day Sir/Madam, My wife and i we have decided the best way for me is to migrate to the U.S. we have a daughter together just 6 months old and my wife and daugther resides in Florida.but the thing is we are confused in knowing what is the best effective way for me to (note)both my wife and dauther are U.S. legal citizen.

#1migrate to the U.S. i already have an B2 visitors visa and we where thinking of me coming to the states on my B2 visa then get a lawyer to sort out my paper works for me to get residence.

#2Stay in Jamaica and wait forever for my papers to sort out which i know its going to take over 6 months and more to do that or could i get a lawyer located there in Florida and have them work on my papers for us which would make things a lot quicker.

Please let me know what is my best option cause my wife is there with the baby and i want to see my family and help raise and support my child.so if i can get a lawyer to support my case please let me know and how much this would cost and please note we got married in Jamaica.thanks for taking the time to assist me thanks in advance

Hello everyone I hope someone can help me in regards of this topic. I qualify for citizenship because I've been married for 3 years with an american citizen. Im now 30 years old and didnt register for selective service because at that time between 18-26 years old I was an undocumented alien. Can I still apply for citizenship or I have to wait until I am 31 years old to have that ban removed from not having registered? Can undocumented individuals qualify to register for selective service? I didnt do it previously because I was afraid something could have happened to me. Thanks!!

Hubby got another job! which is great and its better than the last place he was in, just in time as i got my independence back. what else.......oh my hospital bill got reduced by 100%. which is great it was over 11 grand. God is good ...

Hi ladies! Well, we had our ultrasound appt today. First of all let me tell you that this baby is something else! Barely stayed still long enough to get any pictures taken or to check all of the organs! Everything checked out though, except that I have to go back in two weeks because while they could see the heart & it beating, they weren't able to get a good look at all the ventricles, so they want me to come back so they can try and get a better view. This child was flipping, turning, waving, and ducking from the time the wand was put on my stomach! :blink: And finally sat still for about 10 seconds long enough for us to see that WE'RE HAVING A GIRL! You know, I was so hooked on the idea of having a boy (I wanted to be the only lady in the house! :lol: ) before, but as soon as the technician told me, I was ecstatic! That poor lady earned her paycheck today! She said she had seen 3 other babies that day and ours was the busiest! :bonk: I'm just thankful that things are going well...my husband was in shock (he honestly thought he would never have a girl) and my mother was laughing! :blink:

I had to call back the genetic counselor and ask if she was sure, she said in all her 13 years of practice, no one ever called back to ask if she's sure :rolleyes:
But she caught me off guard when she called because I was on the phone with my boss when I saw her number and hung u on my boss :bonk:
So she asked, do you want to know so I said yes.
She asked what do I think so I told her I wish its a girl but my heart tells me it's a boy so she said follow your heart! I bust out :crying: :crying:

You know they say dreams doesn't come straight, well Jamaican ppl say that. For instance, if you dream of a funeral, you'll be attending a wedding. So the girl you saw was a boy, lol.

That is so true, I heard that several times and I never looked at it that way (the dream) . Aidan!!! I love that name and he will be as cute as can be. I am so happy for you .

Omg, well now that you're 40 weeks, you know for a fact she'll be here ve ry soon :)
Sigh, I don't have to explain anymore how much I want it to be a girl and I've been thinking that it's probably a good reason why I don't know the sex yet. I think I mentioned before that fragile x affect boys way more than girls and my heart tells me its a boy. If I do find out its a boy before I get all the results back, sigh.
Let's just say I would be extremely worried until I get the final report. But I'm getting closer, Tuesday is one week and they said it would take 2-3 weeks to grow the cells they took from the placenta...


Oh sweetie all will be well, God hears all our prayers and I been praying for your situation, You are blessed with a very healthy baby and no matter what anyone said that test will come back just fine.
