(K1 Visa)	Hey J&L!   Thanks for the concern, I appreciate it!   The "plurilingual" birh certificate(s) I have are just like the "Estratto di Nascita" (containing all the pertaining info), but they happen to be written in several different languages. I am including a screenshot of one of the three I have (and yes, I also have the one written only in Italian, because as you said, they do accept documents written in either English or Italian).   As our ancestors used to say: "Melius abundare quam deficere", which means "Better too much than not enough"!!!   I have also asked the "Prefettura" to put the "apostille" according to the The Hague Convention, which was also ratified by the US (probably that's the "something else" she told you about). From what I understand, it may not be needed, but I thought better safe than sorry at this point.   Give me a shout when you get to schedule the interview, I'm sure I'll get your timeline update!   Thanks! (K1 Visa)	In transit means it's been sent to the Consulate in Naples.   Once the CEAC Status Update turns to READY, wait a few days and then send them an email at IVNAPLES at state dot gov with all your details (Names, Case Number).   I sent them an email the day the CEAC status updated to ready and they answered almost right away that they couldn't yet see it in their system (I think it was either a Thursday or a Friday).   They then sent me an email Monday morning (with Packet 3 attached to it) that they had received the application. They asked me to look at the content of packet 3 and return the statement to them as soon as I was ready to have the appointment scheduled. I sent them an email with the "Applicant's Statement" right afterwards and got my appointment letter (literally another email), a couple of hours later, on the same day!   Hope this helps!   Looking forward to hearing news RE your case!   P.S. Not too sure whether we should wait one more week or e-mail them now. Apparently CSC can take up to 8 weeks to ship a case to NVC... either way, I'll be busy collecting documents I'll need for the interview. I see yours is in less than a month now, so good luck and keep us updated!   I would wait 6-10 days from when your USCIS status changes from "approved" to "shipped your petition", at least that's what we did!   Yeah, ours is REAL soon, 24 days, 16 hours, 42 minutes, 16 seconds, as I type...not that I'm counting... ;-) HEHEHE LOL   Nice handy apps on smartphones nowadays! Also any information regarding the embassy in Italy would be helpful! We're still waiting for NOA2 but we're hoping for a positive outcome and would like to prepare for the medical and interview (as in know things in advance if possible).   You simply ask for it when you go to the "Comune".   It's an "Estratto di Nascita, modello Convenzione di Parigi del 27 Settembre 1956".   That's what I asked for, that's what I got! ;-)   Once you get NOA2, wait for your petition to be shipped (you will receive another USCIS status update). Once it's been shipped, wait 2 weeks, and then call either NVC or DoS (I called DoS and only had to wait on hold 3 minutes, you can find the numbers all over the place on VJ), and ask for your NPL case number.   Once you have that, you can track it on the CEAC website (read about it in other threads). It'll have three updates, first "At NVC", second "In Transit" (which means your petition has been shipped to the Consulate in Naples), third "Ready" which means your file is in Naples.   I'm at this stage now.   Best of luck! Our original interview date was 06 FEB 2014 but someone must have canceled/rescheduled theirs so the earlier date opened up! We have a bunch of questions about the DS-160 that we're waiting on our attorney to answer. And everyone told us to wait on police certificates because they expire. So now since we're meeting next week in Panama for NYE that's an additional week we can't get things done. It's kind of a crazy, yet happy, panic, lol.   I wouldn't sweat the DS-160, you will get it done, eventually (I am also waiting on my lawyer to get back to me, but I did fill out all the parts for him to review already, so it is just a matter of making sure everything's alright).   As for the Police Certificates, I had to request them from 3 different countries. Once it says it's ready, send an email to IVNaples at state dot gov to ask whether they have received the petition or not. There's a good chance they may not have it yet, but will let you know as soon as they get it (and your "ready" status will also be updated with a new "case created on" date). I was out of the country and a bit disconnected from everything trying to enjoy time with my fiancé.... haha... our case has not left the USCIS yet, at least according to their website... does anyone know if they update the case status in the system for all cases? or sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not.... I see that the post activity section says something like "this case has been shipped to the NVC for further processing".... to be honest, I have not wanted to call the NVC yet... haha... I do not want to hear the please wait up to four weeks haha... it has been almost two weeks since my approval.... I am so excited though.... I'm sure it'll be sent REAL soon, ours took more or less (a little less) the same amount of time if I'm not mistaken. Nope, it was handled in the line, at the desk. By the way did you wait 10 days to call NVC or were you calling every day??   I waited exactly 11 days (we called on the 19th).   No calls before that, and as others have suggested, I didn't call NVC, I called DoS, as it is indeed much faster. All we needed to know was if the petition had reached the NVC and what the case number was, and they can tell you that.   Everything else we learned from the CEAC website, and DHL (as soon as the petition was shipped!).
