Very good question..would love to know the outcome..

If they cancel her crew visa b4 approval and deny her K1 is crazy..they r putting this woman out of work or at least as a flight attendant..if she is working or has to travel for work..how come this will be a problem if she enters the US as she normally do? Can they just stamp her crew visa and disregard the K1? it would not be in her best interest to not go back to JA since she was already approved for the K1..immigration i tell..i wanna know the method to the madness

Some more madness

I spoke to State dept. they said they cannot see an issue as long as she tells the immigration officer to make sure and use the crew visa. So I called the Immigration dept. and they said it cannot be done, as long as she comes up it triggers the K-1 one entry Visa. Two different answers..LOL So we are not taking any chances, we will either ask for a new interview date or try and use up all her vacation and sick days till Nov. I guess when the interview comes I will ask them if there is a way to hold off cancelling her crew visa till we know we got the K1.

I cousin left me a message yesterday. Her crew visa was cancelled at the interview after she was approved. She came to the states on a K-1. I just hate it when you get two different answers to the same question.

Thanks Trelawny I feel much better now smile.gif

Actually Yardie even though I hate the idea that might be our only choice. I am also going to see if her job can work with her and see if she can retire early because you are right the consensus shows the crew visa will be invalid, but like Darlene said the dilemma is how can you retire if you dont know if you got your K1 visa approved yet!!!

Jski;

Just a quick question. Is it possible for her to do another job for AJ until November? I know it's not much time to start looking into another job function. I would hate to lose my benefits after being there for 10 years.

Both you and Islandwomen have come up with good ideas. I will discuss them with her, but the fact remains like someone said she will give up her post before getting approved.

Okay. My brain is working slow this afternoon. What do you mean give up her post? Does she have to quit her job before she attends the interview?

Trelawney

What I mean is in the beginning of the interview which was stated by a couple of people in this thread the crew visa will be canceled before we actually get an approval, so say for instance we get denied for a K1 visa she could not go back to work right away because her crew visa has already been terminated. I think Jomo was asking if this is true too, I really need to vaidate this.

Thanks for all the reponses. I hope that is not the case of them canceling her crew visa. The reason why we want her to still work is for her retirement benefits, she need to make it to the middle of Nov. for it to be ten years. I will also do what sus says and call the state dept.

Hello Ladies

I dont say much but I read a lot of your posts. I have a very important question to ask and I hope someone on this board may help me or point me in the right direction. If my SO passes her interview she will get a K1 visa in her passport, and my understanding is with that visa once you come to america you cannot come back to JA unless you file for your travel documents. Well my SO has a crew visa and wants to keep working as a flight attendant for a month after the interview. I am afraid that when she returns after her first flight to the US after the interview she will be denied when she comes up for good on the K1 visa. When she come to US on a flight the immigration officer scans her crew visa, would that entry qualify as a different entry than the K1 visa? or do you think once you are up it doesnt matter what visa you used, you cant go back till you filed the AOS.

Sorry to hear she had to quit before 10 years at her job.

Any plans for when she will be coming to the US?

Thanks Yardiewife, she is trying to come maybe the week before thanksgiving, I am hoping. Reason being she has a house, car and two small dogs. So she has to secure the house, secure the car, and find new owners for her dogs. I am not sure you know but you have to find someone to look over your house and car or they will break into it.

Marlita at the interview they told her to come back today to pick it up. They gave her a blue slip with the day and time on it and said to show it to the security guard. I wished you would of called out to me. We went to the dragon chinese restaraunt around the corner to celebrate I would of invited you to start the celebrations smile.gif

My SO and I got to the Embassy at 7:30 for a 7am appointment. We waited outside for about 40 minutes, we got to the front and I showed a email with the interview date because we never got our Packet 4. They let us in after checking her name.

We had to show the email again when we got to the area where they check documents. They gave us a number and we waited in Area A for about an hour. We were called up to window 5 and presented our documents (W2, tax return, etc...) and did her finger prints, after we paid for our visa and showed the receipt they told us to go to section C window 17 and wait for someone, we waited 5 minutes and a man came with our folder and asked to take her finger prints again (weird), and told us to wait in area A again, so we waited for about an 1 hour till our number was called again. We went to the american white lady and I kid you not she did not ask my SO any questions at all. She asked me if I had kids and I said yes, then she cancelled her B1 and crew visa and told her to come back on Thursday for her K1 Visa. ( I just spoke to her she have it hand, the few couples that got approved were told to go to airpak) and we left. We werent at her window more than 3 minutes.

Now I am just as perplexed as to why she didnt ask her any questions. My theory is the man we saw at section C was watching us over the cameras, because the other couples did not go to section C and we were doing a lot of PDA (Public Display of Affection) and they approved us based on that or because I work for the government in the US and they see it on my file or maybe we were just plain lucky, I am not sure what happened but I am thankful she is approved.

Regards

J-ski

Any idea when the USCIS processing times site for Vermont Service Center will be updated?

https://egov.uscis.g...e=serviceCenter

They have not changed it since November 19, and it still says they are processing I-129F applications received on March 7, 2008. It also says this was as of September 30 - so is it that as of 9/30 they were processing applications received 3/7 and they didn't update that information until 11/19? I don't really understand. Anybody have any information about what they are really working on now? Our I-129F was received Oct. 29, 2008. Thanks!!

same mine.. last updated was NOV 19, 2008... some couples here has their USCIS updates with their VSC transferred to CSC online.. I'm wondering how's our CSC case now? just waiting anyways....

how can i have my i129 trasnsferred to csc from vsc. i thought that the USCIS did that on thier own.
