Has anyone heard from Pam (Heart in Jamaica) ??? Just curious on how her interveiw went. I am also being lazy so I do not know if she posted anything earlier on.

I don't think anyone has heard. I could be wrong but I didn't see any news.

Thanks Dillion

Ive texted her but no response. Someone on her facebook (probably someone she is closer to) said congrats to her.. so who knows. If he is approved she is staying there until he gets his visa to come back with him.

Thanks

So, Im doing a little project with my kindergarten class on Tuesday. I bought 9 x 9 felt cloths and I am going on line looking for coloring pages the kids can color. Showing pics of things they are thankful for. My daughter always says food! lol. Every story she ever wrote about me was thanking me for feeding her. She still does it to this day. I am going to have them glue them to the felt and Im sewing all the pictures together to make a "thanksgiving quilt". Im doing one with them to have a even number of squares. I hope they don't give me too much grief!

Sounds really nice, would like to se pics when its finished. I am not a teacher, but I work for the School system in Broward handling all Workers' Compensation claims and payroll. I used to enjoy it but now I need something more challenging. Too bad the economy is the way it is otherwise I would certainly be on top of that. If the kids are anything like these kids in Broward you maybe able to get some of their interest, they all seem too grown for their own good these days and the majority of the parents do not help.

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that
person..

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need
you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with
guidance and support,

To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,

this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an
end.

Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire
fulfilled, their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has
come to share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh..

They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.

Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,

things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson,

love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other
relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life,

whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime

SO SO TRUE.... Your welcome smile.gif

An attack of sleep paralysis is usually harmless and self-limited. It tends to be over in a minute or two as soon as the brain and body re-establish connections and the person is able to move again. However, the memory of the terrifying sensations felt during sleep paralysis can long endure.

Ms Sheka

USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

It's a shame so many don't provide feedback and keep this thread going. Our interview was fine, 45 minutes tops and they asked her more questions about her family than mine. Some questions were funny "Why did you not try to find a relationship here in Germany?", "When is the wedding?" haha

You can't answer a question if you are unsure when you will get your visa.

Thanks for the feedback!

I am still patiently waiting for my Italian fellows to tell me more about their experience.

Hi BajeTex

I am wondering if you could confirm that the fees for the medical examination as well as the cost of the visa is accurate on the Embassy information page for Barbados.

Thanks much.

Was told by someone going through the process now that the medical cost is US$ 205 if that helps happiness268. I am currently waiting for my case to be forwarded to the Barbados embassy and anyone who can offer any useful information on that process it would be greatly appreciated.

USCIS Processing Times Reports ? How to Interpret and Are They Reliable?

November 07th, 2013 | by D.M. | Category: ArticlesNewsUSCIS

Office_010-300x225.jpgAnyone who has ever filed a petition of some sort with USCIS has wondered, ?How long would I have to wait to get a response from USCIS on my application??     Chances are that such an applicant has used the online status check and has also checked the ?normal?processing times for the type of a case they have had filed.   Many of our clients and readers are well aware of these two resources and we encourage following the information posted on the USCIS website.    However, we often receive questions by clients on how to interpret the processing times posted on the USCIS website and whether these reports are actually reliable.    We seek to provide a little bit of information on how these government processing times reports are compiled, how to interpret them and whether they are reliable at all.

Recent Issues with Inaccurate Processing Times Reports

Over the past few months, we have seen an increasing number of cases for which the processing times reports do not reflect accurate case status.  In other words, the processing times reports have been inaccurate, in some cases, substantially so.   For example, when USCIS processing times indicated that H-1B cases are processed within 3 months, our office had a number of pending cases which had been pending well above this time period.

USCIS has addressed some of these concerns and have taken steps to correct the way the processing times are gathered and reported to ensure higher quality data.     In the past, internal investigations by USCIS have revealed that some of the processing times are simply being reported incorrectly.   For example, the Texas Service Center had inadvertently been processing cases out of their receipt order, thereby deviating from their standard first-in/first-out policy.    We were assured that this deviation has been corrected.

How Are Processing Times Determined?

The USCIS calculated processing times are intended to be a reflection of the number of months of application/petition receipts that an office?s inventory of pending cases represents.    For example, a 4-month processing time reported for a service center indicates that the inventory of pending cases (waiting to be processed) was equal to the number of cases that the center had received over the past 4 months.    This means that the processing times are somewhat backward looking in the sense that they do not necessarily reflect how long a new case would remain pending.

USCIS also shows the online processing times based on workload processing goals.   If USCIS is processing a specific type of a petition in less time than the processing goal, the processing time would be shown in months.    If USCIS is taking longer than the processing time goal to handle a case, USCIS will post the specific filing date of the oldest pending case the service center has to process as of the date of the processing time chart.

USCIS?s methodology in calculating the processing times is as follows:   USCIS only calculates the time a case is considered to be actively pending with USCIS and is under adjudication.  It does not take into account the time USCIS is waiting or an action by the applicant or petition.   As an example, the time is takes for USCIS to issue and wait for a response to a request for evidence (RFE) (usually 84 or 87 days), is not reflected in the processing times.

USCIS Working to Provide More Recent Processing Times Information

Another substantial problem with the processing times report is that the data is simply very old.    Often, by the time a processing times report is published online, it is already 30-, 45- or even 60-days old.    USCIS has indicated that it works with its internal IT and Performance and Quality Departments to try to speed up the information gathering and reporting process.   According to USCIS, the current process of gathering the processing times information is manual and based on self-reporting.   USCIS is working on a new system which should allow automated, accurate and faster reporting.    The system is currently being tested and is scheduled for implementation in early fiscal year 2013.

Reliability vs. ?Outside of Processing Times?

With all of this background information on how the USCIS processing times reports are compiled, it should not come as a surprise when many start to question the reliability and the usefulness of the processing times reports.    Yes, they may not reflect the most recent information and yes, they may not be fully accurate, but they do serve an important purpose in the adjudication process and our office takes full advantage of the processing times reports to advance our clients? cases.

Normally, when a case is ?within? the normal processing times, there is often very little or nothing that can be done to try to move the case forward.   However, when a case is considered to be outside of the reported processing times, the government allows a service request to be opened and to look into the case status and seek to have it ?expedited? or, at least, reviewed.   This is when the processing time reports become very useful ? if a case is pending beyond the normal processing times, as current reported by USCIS, then it may be an option (and a good idea) to seek to open a service request with USCIS on the status of the case.     In the past, on many occasions, we have been able to secure quick case adjudication by opening service request on a case which is pending beyond the normal processing times; as a result, while the actual report may not be very reliable and accurate, it is an important tool case management tool.

http://www.cilawgroup.com/

Thank you for the unformation every bit counts.

Y'all must be reading my mind today, i was just talking to my friend about this same subject earlier. I really have my heart on getting married in JA, but of course with the visa process, since we are planning on doing the K1 that cant happen. We have discussed having a NONLEGAL ceremony on the beach in May( which is what i want, i want to have my friends fly down to be there) and then just going the justice of the peace route when he actually gets here. I have heard others mention that you have to be careful with the nonlegal ceremony route( im not sure why) im thinking that if you showed pictures( that the Embassy, may think it is a legal marriage and deny yoU????? Im just grasping at straws here) Can anyone clarify for me? ( i mean obviously, i wouldnt be stupid enough to present those photos at my interview, so im just wondering.

I'm not sure about the details of a NON-Legal ceremony but i'm guessing folks are saying "be careful" cause it probably has something to do with not wanting the embassy/ INS to think you got married in JA if your supposed to be doing a K-1. Not really sure, but yeah....I know what u mean about wanting to have some sort of ceremony or recognition in JA, even if it's not the "real" thing. LOL

We're doing the JP route here and then going back down later this year to celebrate with my family and his. We decided not to do anything big up here cause there really wouldn't be anybody at the ceremony on his behalf. Besides, I'll be ready for a vacation/ honeymoon by then!

Hello everyone

I am doing the non legal ceromony in Oct. If anybody have any do's or don'ts that they heard please share. To be on the safe side we are going to do it after the interview.

Hi, Jski.....when is your interview? so your going to do the interview, go to the states and then do what? go before a JP or have a legal wedding?

Everyone

I dont have an interview date yet? We planned for the ceromony at the end of Oct. I am hoping I have an interview before then smile.gif To answer your question she will not be leaving soon after the interview. I read somewhere you have a month or two after you get the K1 visa to come up. I am trying to plan the ceromony after the interview, so if we get approved at least we have the visa in our hands and they cant take it away from us...LOL. Like many of you most of my SO family is still in yard so it was best we have something there. When she comes up I will do the city hall thing to make it legal. I am a little nervous though, I want it to be small and quiet but she keeps making it big, we are already up to four bridesmaid. She has already been to David's Bridal picking out dresses too sad.gif

PS
Sunny she dropped of the DS230 friday 7/25

Not yet and they mailed it out on the 23rd of June.

Must be in the same mail bag as mine! mad.gif

Well, it's about friggin time...... I got the e-mail today and Ray has to go drop off the DS-230 on Thursday, July 10th @ 12:30. Yay!!!!!! kicking.gif

Tanya, yours is coming girl....

I got the same day and time Sunny, but my SO cant make it she is out the country, I am asking for a new appointment date, I am hoping they are not to strict with rescheduling.

Hey JSKI;

I hope you'll be able to change the date and time. It was my understanding that Thursday was the day to drop off information that was requested by the embassy and if you were blue slipped they usually tell you to come back on a Thursday. if you get a new date it will most likely be on a thursday at the same time...anyway good luck.

Thanks ALL

I am going to prep my SO to be ready for Thursdays and try to stay in country. She is a flight attendant and when I got the email yesterday she already boarded a flight and it was to late to re-schedule, she wont be back to JA till late thursday. If we cant get a favorable appt. I will take you guys advice and express mail it.

Is she going to do that when she comes to the states???

Most likely, I am close to fort lauderdale airport so we will try Spirit Air since it go to yard smile.gif and maybe AA in miami but I heard they are laying off sad.gif
she can also work at Air JA ticket counter cause she wont be able to fly as an attendant with them anymore but still keep the flight benefits smile.gif

We saw Get Smart over the weekend. It was so freakin' funny. Well worth the ticket price.

BTW....My predictions on how the weekend would go were absolutely correct.

That's sad. But he was okay with all the extra local attention he got?

offtopic45vn.gif I just called the 202# to make sure they had our DS230. The guy on the phone said "Kingston is .....I wouldn't say strange, but perculiar in how they work
