Thanks Everyone, Ok I will inform him to ask the officer at POE if he can change to a IR1 if his visa shows CR1. Marlita - he said it was quite a few people there, not has much as 200 though, and when he was leaving out about minutes to 11a it was empty.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that Hubby passed his interview this morning. kicking.gif dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif I didn’t attend but he told me how it went. His interview time was scheduled for 7:30a. He reached about 7:10a. There were 2 lines formed outside, he joined the appropriate line showed his appointment letter and email with the correct appointment date to the officer, before entering the building. Yes, our date was originally for Tuesday, Oct 21st but was changed and we never received the corrected appointment letter.

Once inside he went through security check, taking off any jewelry and such. Then once in the main room he went up to a window to give his passport pictures and medical. He didn’t have to pay the $20 US fee since we submitted our petition before the deadline of the new immigration fee which took in effect July 07 then went to the next window for the fingerprints. A number was giving to him, which he waited a while before he was called up again.


He said during his wait he saw quite a few people being rescheduled and denied. One man was there and the interviewer asked where his spouse was. He said she was here but their interview date was rescheduled for today, and she had to leave. Come to find out some info was corresponding and/or docs were missing, so he was giving another interview date. He saw a few people who had to use the telephone to talk to the interviewer during the interview. We don’t know why that’s the case. This he said was making him jittery.

Finally it was his turn. We went up to the window; the interview was a young nice American lad, just smiling. She started out Good Morning, he responded Good Morning. Next she asked him to pick up the phone. OH OH - She then asked him the following questions:

1. How did you meet your wife?
2. How long have you know your wife?
3. When last did you see your wife?
4. Do you have any kids?
5. Does she have any kids?

His entire interview wad done over the phone. Then the women said: Congratulations and instructed him to go over to another section regarding Airpack. That was his experience. I was saying just yesterday I wish our process was as easy as Marlita’s, and look at it – it ended up as such. They didn’t as for ANY evidence or additional paperwork. Funny because I didn’t send any pics or such in the filing. But either way, he was prepared. Better to be prepared then not.

Well, I would like to Praise God that we made it through this entire process without any mishaps. And thanks for this Forum and all the helpful people who gives advice to anyone who needs it. My process here was flawless. We’re both relieved it’s finally over. But we don’t know if we’ve gotten the CR1 or IR1. When do you know this? When you pick up the visa? I just hope it’s the 10yr visa since come Nove11th will be our 2nd yr anniversary. Well, thanks again everyone. I hope everyone else’s Journey will be over shortly and all goes well. I’ve spoken to a couple people privately and just wanted to say it was a pleasure getting you meets you throughout this process. Until further notice.

Honestly, re-reading this...I think he should try his luck in Kingston...He can't take the day off for the medical and another day off to pick it up????....I know it is about a 3 1/2 hour trip from Negril to Kingston but I would rather do that knowing that I will get my results in time for the interview...BUT only do it if they can guarantee your results in time...It is better than getting a reschedule interview...you don't know if they will give a date one month or two month after...I wouldn't want to take that chance...I know your hubby would have to take a third day off for the interview but you don't think his boss will let him take the days off since he will be leaving soon or is he planning to stay in JA for a minute...???

Why would he go to Kingston to do his medical? There are three locations authorized to perform examinations for immigrant visas, and you may have your exam done at the most convenient location for you.

I would think the one in Mobay would be more suitable for you, the add is below:

So hopefully tomorrow or the beginning of next week. We want to schedule the appointment to see the Dr sometime next week. Yes, Marlita I would email the Embassy just to verify the interview date, as NVC does not know when the Embassy reschedules interviews and we the petitioner will not get that new info.

mad.gif I dont think I am going to the interview now. The flight i got, didnt go through, thank God, cause looks like the date woulda changed. So now I am back at square one. no clear date, no flight, no hotel. And now the timeline is 2 weeks before i need to leave, so tickets are like over $600!!! Not the kinda money i got. SoooooI think I may just have to arm Evan with all the evidence we have (JG, I might just print the blog) and email it all to him. I am on the phone with him now, and he is upset too, but we both feel like this is so ridiculous that its this close to the date and the embassy is not informing us of anything.

When did you email them? I emailed them Sept 28th and got a response Oct 1st, but the auto response came back stating that they will get back to you within 5 business days. I would still go about scheduling the Dr's appointment sometime next week since you both receive a Packet 4 with Oct 21st date, and haven't heard or receive anything stating other. Wow that's how expensive the trips are now a days? I'm sorry you're not going to make it, you really had it planned out. But I'm sure your Husband will do just fine. You provided many of us with valuable info, so I know you have your things together.

Yes, I'm going to do this as well and call NVC to see if they know anything about this. Will I also get a new appointment letter? The embassy said that he should get a packet with the new date sometime this week. Hopefully I will get a response from the embassy with the new date so I can send it to him so he has it as back up if he doesn’t get his packet.
