If not, it totally depends where you apply. If you are applying for a state or federal job they might have you get your transcripts converted into the US equivalent. (don't worry, they will tell you where you need to send your transcripts to get this done) If you are applying to a grass routes organization or non-profit organization, it might not matter. It just depends how they are funded and what their funders requirements are. For example, I work for a non-profit organization, but my position is state funded so I had to meet all the requirements for a state employee which besides my degree and experience included a local and an FBI screening, a drug test, and a credit check. Have you already done a search in the area that you'll be living for SS organizations? When I was returning from Peace Corps I researched every organization in South FL (which was where I wanted to live) and sent them each my resume and a cover letter that also told a little about myself via e-mail. I was still living in Belize at the time so I told them when I would be returning and that I was available for a phone or webcam interview . No one hired me until I was back in USA, but through this I made alot of great contacts, and even one that connected me to the job I am in now. Another good resource is Careerbuilder.com . You could see what is in your area and although it's too early to apply you could at least get some ideas. When you do start applying, apply for jobs that you might not think that you totally qualify for. You might be surprised. The trick with Careerbuilder is to apply for as many jobs as possible because less than half of them will respond to you. I am confused by something- Allousa, you asked me about a waiver in rome? That just threw me into a panic because I have no idea what you are talking about- could you please tell me what this is? How would we know if we have a waiver, and if it is in Rome??? Is it good or bad to have this?? Also. you said about 4 years, so does this mean you are finally together??? We had our interview a month ago. I was there with him. The CO said everything looks good on their end, but it required additional processing in Washington DC before the visa could be issued. They assured us that this was normal. They asked him some additional questions at another window, and gave us a paper on how to check our status online, at the AMMAN website. The paper said it would take an average of 5 months, but could be more, could be less. The paper also said that once the website said that AP was complete, we were supposed to send that letter plus his passport to the embassy for the visa.....I just assumed it's security checks since he comes from one of the countries on the "T" list. Gaeliza, when you you left the embassy in June, after the interview, with the passport, at that time, did you know it was in AP? Did they tell you they were sending it to Washington DC? For the 1,897,655th time I checked Amman embassy website in the AP status section and this is what it still says: Consular Section, Visa Case Status -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your Passport Number is: Jxxxxxx Case Status: Your application is still pending administrative processing. USCIS Service Centers	NEW USCIS FIELD OFFICE	We had our interview at Oakland Office in January 15 2009 at 8:30 am Interview took only 15 minutes.Officer didnt ask much question.Just marriage date,our 3 years old son's birthday.some questions from I-485.He had all the copies we send and he wanted to see original of documents that's all.He took I-94.We have been married for 5 years.(Couldn't apply before because I got my naturalization certificate last year in march.But applied before for I-130 in 2004 and appproved in 2007.)At the end he said everything looks good he will review the file and let us know by mail in 2 months(by the way he was a young officer).So we are still waiting...
