I know I'm not Maire, so I have no special powers innocent.gif , but this is what I think. I think that batch of people they skipped over (myself included) have already been approved and simply must wait for hard copy instead of e-mail. kicking.gif


That being said, I still continue to stalk my e-mail. I just got super excited because an email said my visa application was approved but then I realized it was for a credit card.... blush.gif

My fiance has been in AP since our interview on October 8. We were given a website to check with the embassy in Amman on the status of our AP, and told when it was finished we would not have to have a second interview, they will just ask us to send in the passport. Today there was finally a change in the status. Does this mean our AP is finally over?? They asked him for his passport! (previously the status just said it was still pending administrative processing and to check back later for updates)

Omark: The website the OP is talking about is specifically for the US Embassy in Jordan. Not every embassy gives the benefit of checking the progress of AP online, and ISB is one of them, they do not have that option, only some consulates do. InshaAllah this week I hope you hear good news!

Hi Guys,
I was at the interview with my SO last week. Everything went well and at the end the CO told us that everything was fine and approved from their end, but that he would require some additional processing in Washington DC. So then we had to go to another window and answer some questions about his brothers and sisters and jobs, and we were given a paper that shows where to check the status of our AP online, and were told that once it says approved, to send his passport back to the embassy for the visa. We were told we would not need a second interview and that our approval for I129F would automatcally be extended. So then we left, happy that we were approved pending AP, but also sad it could be awhile before the visa is issued. (the paper said average of 5 months but the CO told us he has seen it in as little as 2 weeks)
But now...I have started to research and I getting worried. The 221g is the same code that means the visa was denied? Could we have been denied and not in AP as we thought? When people talk about visa;s being denied and being sent back. is this the same thing? We have checked the website they gave us and entered his passport number and it says pending adminitrave processing. Please please please just tell me I am being ultra paranoid and it is indeed just AP....Many thanks!!!

Hot Guy: Please hang in there and have faith that it is all in God's Hands. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and everyone else waiting. I agree, that if the visa were going to be denied, that you would think that they would just tell you. Like others have said, maybe this wait is a good thing, and they are just finishing the process in Cairo, inhsaallah. I don't know what they do once it is back at the embassy and the AP is finished in Washington DC, but maybe it is just a final review of everything, and maybe they are just slow in Cairo. The Amman embassy recieved my fiance's passport on November 18th (they requested it) This morning I recieved this beautiful email from them. kicking.gif kicking.gif

I had my interview on July14th,2009 and was placed under AP.Its exactly been 90 days now and counting... called DOS they said my case moved to non-immigrant visa unit at the embassy i dont know what that means.Still hoping to come out of this soon IA.


Well my fiancee called DOS and they told her the same .
they told her that the embassy transferred our case from Non-immigrant visa to immigrant visa or maybe from immigrant to Non-immigrant don't remember .
I wonder what does that mean ?!


I BELIEVE, and I could be totally wrong, but I BELIEVE that if it was transfered from immigrant to non-immigrant it means it will get through faster. I noticed on our embassy (Amman) website it said an average of 30-60 days AP for non-immigrant, and an average of 5 months for immigrant. I wondered why there was such a big difference in this, if basically they are getting the same checks done? Also from reading on FBI website, I came accross something similar, although I am unable to quote directly. So again, I could be totally wrong here, and someone please correct me if you think or know differently, but I THINK it means that things should be moving for you shortly, inshaallah.

My prayers go out for everyone who have been waiting and waiting. It really does seem like things are starting to speed up. My fiance sent his passport yesterday to the Embassy, because his status changed on the AP status checker on Amman embassy website. At first I thought this meant the end of AP, but then I second guessed myself and went into panic mode, thinking it might not be over. However, when I called DOS, they told me that the embassy requested his passport, congratulations, the administrative processing is over. I said "does that mean he's approved and getting his visa" and she said yes.

So my guess is that they just have to word things in a way just in case something unforseen comes up...

This is what it said exactly: (And his status changed on November 15, so it was 6 days before they changed the status- I don't know if they were just back logged for data entry or if additional processing was going on inside of embassy)

I totally understand and would feel the same way if I were in your shoes! And I can only imagine how frustrating that is. Personally I have a theory after seeing your story, and researching others...I THINK that it is very difficult for the male beneficiary to be approved in Jordan for the fiancé visa if the fiancée is not present at the interview. Just my own theory and maybe I am wrong. But after knowing you and Moh and seeing your denial one month ahead of my own habibi’s interview, I knew that I HAD to be at that interview with him no matter what.

This whole process has been so emotionally draining that I really don't see how a couple who DOES NOT love each other can go thru it. It's an emotional roller coaster, and without his love and support, there are days that I would not have made it thru.
Staying here with him is wonderful, but I have children and work in the US, so that is where we really want to be.
I know the road ahead of us is long and hard and having to feel like we need to constantly prove our relationship is really getting old. Hi, I had the pleasure of sharing the plane ride between JFK and AMM with Ally. It hurts me that people would write that her relationship is fraud just based on a couple o facts without knowing the whole story. I thought we were here to support each other, not to put each other down. I saw her reunited with Moh at the airport, and the way that they jumped into each other's arms and looked into each others eyes could only be real. Please don't judge, please be supportive. They are working on the family part of this and it is very difficult and complicated. The pictures that Aly has posted in facebook are so beautiul and their love comes shining throuh. Oh, and I was at the interview with my habibi, just as Ally will be with Moh. We were never asked for pictures with the family or anything about formal engagement party. I offered the pictures at the end and he did look at him, but barely. And they could have been anyone's family. For all he knew I could have paid a family 5JD's to pose with us. I didn't of course, but my whole point is please be kind and don't put scary thoughts into her head. This is hard enough as it is. Thanks. xoxox

Just last week I had a close friend go through the interview process at the embassy. She opted to be at the interview with her fiance, as will I. They were asked about engagement party, e-mails, ect. She had none of this, only her ticket stubs from the times she had gone to visit him, and a couple of pictures of her with him and his family, and a heart filled with love for the man she was going to marry. She looked the interviewer straight in the eye and told him that she did not have to have an engagement party in order to prove that the engagement was real. They would rather spend the money on plane tickets for her to go and visit him while they were waiting too long for this whole process. She told him that of course they exchanged plenty of IMs and E-mails but these were personal between 2 people in love and she would not be sharing them with a stranger. Then her S.O (after recovering from shock by the way she so firmly and soundly talked to the interviewer) opened his heart and told him why he loved her, and how much his family loved her. She then did the same, and talked about him and both of their families. By the end, they had almost forgotten about the interviewer and were looking into each others eyes with pure love. The interviewer cleared his throat, and said congratulations. I believe you and best of luck in your marriage in the USA. good.gif

Good advice!! Today I started working my notebook to take to the interview with everything we will need for it. I didn't get very far though. blush.gif I got all caught up on printing out our pictures and names for the outside, and setting up the organization of the inside-i.e. pretty color dividers and plastic sleeves. Anyways, that all took me about an hour and although it wasn't very productive, it sure did take my mind off of everything and it was FUN!!!!!!!!!!! Does political party affiliation even matter anymore? They are all crooks, but honest people never run, because they won't get elected. Honest people won't attack as viscioulsy as dishonest people and most people who vote don't study the issues and vote based off of soundbites.

By the way, not only am I democrat, I was in the Peace Corps, and I work for Social Services and I recycle. blush.gif But don't get me wrong...I may have liberal views but I still love money and dressing up and nice cars ,ect. whistling.gif

Tomorrow I am leaving for a conference in Tampa and I hope when I get back I see so many approvals. This really is crazy!!! What are they doing there????

She said they recieved my file on the 16th and it should be forwarded to Amman within a couple of weeks. I asked them why so long- was it under review? And she said she didn't know, the couple weeks was just a standard answer they gave and to call back in a couple of days and maybe someone could tell me more. smile.gif

I got my medical appointment, 28th July at 9.00am. I eventually got through to the embassy, who informed me that they are sending out packet 3 today, I should have it monday. At least now I know when I can go and get police reports etc because I need the letter from the embassy to do that. I think I am sll set for everything else.
