PhilippinesFinally Here!!!!!
Well, the journey is finally over. (or just beginning!) I picked Aubrey up yesterday at Orlando International and today was her 1st full day here. We spent the day grocery shopping (at Wal-Mart and the Filipino store!) We also went over all the controls for the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. LOL.

Well, hope everyone else is doing ok and things are good.

Good Luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCSC Slowdown!
Starting to get a little frustrated now. Received NOA1 2-6-07 and nothing yet. No touches, nothing! I did call the service center Friday after reading about all the delays. Talked to a really nice girl (Stacy) just to make sure no RFE's had been issued or I had missed anything. She seemed to be really straight forward and basically admitted that the processing has slowed down considerably with all the immigration reform going on. Actually she probably told me more than she was supposed to.

Anyway just looking at some of the stats posted by other members on here at VJ and less than 55% of Feb. filers have received NOA2. We're at 104 days and counting and with the holiday thrown in next week I don't think processing is going to speed up at all. They haven't even updated the processing times on their website since 4-18!

I can definately see processing times extending out to 120 or 130 days! Sorry to disappoint any March or April filers but you still have alot of people ahead of you. Hopefully this week we'll hear something but you know Friday they'll be out of there early for the holiday weekend and won't be back until Tuesday!

Wish us good luck and hopefully everyone gets approved quickly. I was going to write my Senator but there are even Jan filers who have not been approved yet so I figured why waste the time.

Come on USCIS, speed it up!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally a Touch!!!
I almost fell out of my chair at work today. After receiving my NOA1 on 2-6-07 and 106 days later a sign of life from USCIS. Please let this be the NOA2. I would love for this stage to be over before the holiday weekend!

Good luck to everyone!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally got my Senator involved!
Well, today hit day 111. Still no news although a few touches. I faxed Senator Mel Martinez(by the way he was an immigrant from cuba) a letter this morning explaining the situation. Not sure how much influence they actually have but i figure it can't hurt. I still haven't figured out how CSC processes these things. There are still several Jan. filers waiting for NOA2, at least 50% Feb filers waiting, but March approvals? Makes no sense!!!

Oh well, i guess that's the best system we have!

Good luck to everyone, maybe this week!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes USCIS process I-129F's in batches?

The number is way more than that, I'm trying to find the exact source, but the number of I-129F petitions processed each year is around 200,000 to 250,000. The same form is also used for K-3, I dont know if that number includes K-3 petitions as well.

The USCIS reports that approximately 17,263 such visas were issued in fiscal 2001, about 7988 coming from Asia and about 4714 coming from Europe (including all of the former Soviet Union states). It should be noted though, that the K-1 visa is used by Americans who met partners overseas, and perhaps most commonly, by recent immigrants to the US. "Mail-order" style engagements account for a tiny fraction of all K-1 visas. This type of visa application specifies the applicant's fiancé. If the visa holder does not marry the specified fiancé within the validity of the visa, she is required to return to her country of origin. However, if she marries her fiancé, she and her husband can apply to obtain "green card" permanent resident status with her husband (and possible co-sponsors) promising to support her for ten years or until she obtains citizenship.

You're right. It is much more but not 250,000. This was for 2001 and only K1. I'm sure it has went up the last 5 years but seeing that K3's account for less I'm sure it's not 250,000. This only makes my point stronger. The timelines on VJ probably account for less than 5% of all timelines currently being processed. Don't put too much stock in them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes USCIS process I-129F's in batches?

Is it coincidence that you two have the same avatar??

Well,

Seems that CSC has been slow for the past 2 months. The usual 2.9 months to get approved is now looking like 3.5 months.

I'm really not letting it get to me that much. VJ is a great site especially for forms and flowsheets. However, I think most people on here forget USCIS processed over 16,000 K1 & K3 VISA'S in 2006. Only a total of 2200 were actually tracked here on VJ (or about 13.5 %) I don't think you get a really accurate picture of timelines especially with everybody using different ways to enter dates as such.

Yeah, maybe the average approval on VJ is xx amount of days but take the other 86% of the filers from around the country and the average may be xxx days. I'm not sure there is a correct answer.

You're never actually going to get the actual numbers because it is a governmental organization. Lets not forget that. All you can hope for is that your petition is given the same amount of attention as the next one. Lets face it, I work in the medical field in a pretty big hospital and depending on who gets your case to process, we're talking 2-3 weeks different end dates. Some people work faster and care and some are there just to collect a paycheck.

Let's just wish a speedy approval to all

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes USCIS process I-129F's in batches?

Does anyone know the answer to this one? There are 7 of us on here at VJ with a NOA1 receipt date of 02-06-07. Guess what, none of us have been approved. Coincidence or not? I would appreciate any answers or feedback. I hit 110 days today so I know it's just not us. What does everyone think of this?

Thanks

hi..
im sorry that your already on your 110th day & still no approval.
anyway, the longest ive seen approval from CSC is 126 days.
but try to call the USCIS hotline to check your paper.

regards,
alexandra

I've called 3 times this week/I figure I'll give them next week and then call again. I'm thinking about writing my senator if we're not approved by June 6th. That would be a full 4 months.

Thanks Jim

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTouched on a Holiday?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally!! NOA2
Just called USCIS and pushed the RFE choice again. We were approved Monday 6-4. A touch did show up on 6-5 but case status still hasn't changed!

Finally after 119 days!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally!! Almost Home
I'm so glad to be done with the USCIS and NVC. It totally amazes me that the CSC took 118 days to do their part and NVC took 3 days! What's wrong with that picture?

Well, the Embassy should be a breeze. Good luck to everyone on here. It's been a Roller Coaster ride but we finally made it.

I've learned a little more patience along the process I guess. Just don't get mad and your time will come.

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for Interview Date
Well, the Embassy finally received our hard copy of the case. Hopefully we can get our medical/interview dates soon. We know it won't be much longer. Hopefully within the next month or 2.

Good luck to everyone else going thru the process. You've got to be patient.

Thanks

She said several interviews were issued Friday. They are processing the paperwork to send out this week. Well, I'm going to start looking for tickets!! Good luck to everyone.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F QUESTION 11 & 12

You answered it correctly. "Not applicable" isn't really a correct answer to the question of "Has your fiance(e) ever been to the U.S." as it's a "yes" or "no" answer.

You'll be fine! :)

i think you misunderstood my question. i did answer question 11 no ( Has your fiancé(e) ever been in the U.S.?) however, i failed to answer the next question at all! question 12

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F QUESTION 11 & 12
i just mailed my petition saturday. upon reviewing my copies i realized i didn't answer question 12-If your fiancé(e) is currently in the U.S., complete the following:

i answered question 11. Has your fiancé(e) ever been in the U.S.? no.

did i screw up and not put N/A. i hope i'm not going to get an RFE for this. i would think that by answering question 11 no, this would make this question irrelevant.

hope someone can answer this.

thanks
