You know, I would hold off and not send anything to the USCIS unless you get an RFE. You trying to submit new paperwork or additional paperwork may trigger a delay getting your NOA2.
When I did the paperwork for my husband, I made sure to put all names on the application that was on his passport. It was a pain, but it's doable. They are aware of the multiple names for Arabic people. Instead of thinking of 3 middle names, I typed it first name, middle name, multiple last names. Now his Green card, passport, social security card and driver's license all have the same names on them BUT the bank account, car insurance, etc has only his first and last name on it.
Social security tried to tell me that they couldn't fit all of his name on the line and actually sent his first card with only his first middle inital and last name on it and homeland security made them change it to his complete name. What a pain in the rump!!!

so everyone with NoA 2s that says that it will be forwarded,then like everyone else said: it will go through nvc.

That sounds about right. 7 (business) days. They don't work weekends. the 6th would have been the first day of waiting...the 16th the 7th business day. Hoping to see mine tomorrow :)

There's some real smart asses working at NVC. I just got off the phone with one. I dont care what they say they all go through NVC. I find the automated system much easier to deal with than some of the rude depressed people working there. Although, in fairness, I have spoken to some really nice people there too. But UGH it grinds my gears to get on the phone with someone being nasty to you when all you're calling about is when you will get to see someone you're in love with again. So frustrating.

I have a question for you, when did you pay the MRV fee? When you received your appointment letter or after you sent in packet 3? Will they schedule an interview if you haven't paid the fee yet? Or do they wait to schedule an interview until after you've paid the fee? Just trying to gauge if we have some time to pay the fee or if we need to go ahead and scrounge up now if it will affect them actually scheduling our interview?

Why is the Philippines the kidnapping capital of the world? Why do all the western governments have travel warnings. Sure, I know it is safe for the most part but I prefer to use my judgement on the safety, not yours. If your so confident, go visit Jolo for your next vacation. It's really cheap there and say hello to Abu Sayyaf because he wants to meet the Westerner who is rich in their eyes.

We did visit a dentist and I am dropping just short of a carrot on her teeth. Her teeth look great but she is a typical Filipina who can use some work.

Smurfs... I won't have any problems with the application we will get approved for an interview because we meet the basic requirements. Did you get the Visa ? It is the interview and them saying you got the Visa. That is what counts. I am hopeful after reading a few of the Embassy reviews though.

Plesae let me know if you get approved as you are ahead of me. I came from Orlando Florida but the plane flight from Detroit to Japan was a killer. I remember asking the lady how long we had been flying and I thought she would tell me 8-9 hours but she said about 5 hours. Holy #######. I thought I was going to die. Can't sleep,nothing to do, no internet. I think next time, I will take the lay over somewhere. From my house to Manila airport was just under 23 hours with lay over. Lol, never been there before and expecting Abu Sayyaf Terriost to kidnap me right there at the airport. I was nervous landing in Manila but when I saw 10 other Americans in line with me, I calmed down. I survived ! I stayed on Mactan Island at the White Sands Resort.

Nobody will dispute my physical being at the hotel with her in Cebu because of my detail, right down to the signed hotel room charges for dinners each night.

I would still like to hear from others who were approved after only one visit. I am a software engineer, very detailed and I will prove that we chat and skype everyday all the way up to the interview. I will probably write a program to organize the chats and take snapshot images of our daily varying dress on-line everyday. We will have a pretty strong case but the travel only once concerned me.

I have met the woman I want to marry on-line and visited her two months later for 11 days. I am interested in those who know others that have been successful after only one trip, not two trips, not three or more but one trip !

My due diligence and hours of Skyping with her proved successful because we had the best time together, we do want to be married and have children together, we will be able to show 1-3 hours of chat logs up until our interview, there will be phone calls and many, many emails through this process. I am very orgainized and documented. We spent 11 days together in a resort in Cebu. Provided that she stands up to the grilling of the CO in Manila, what do you think our chances are since we have only met once ?

Barriers to travel...
My job in technology makes it difficult for me to travel again for 2 weeks straight and it is exspensive (all cost were around $ 5,000). I know a ticket only cost $ 1,700 but there are other cost. How big of a hurdle do you think we will climb to get the Visa Approved?

yes, I will go back again but she wants me to save the money and so do I. Success of a relationship doesn't matter on the length of time you have known someone but rather picking the right someone from the beginning. I was intentionally skeptical of every woman that I met and asked lots of questions before I got involved with this woman. She is a keeper. Please don't judge our fast decisions as we know the risk. I have people all around me that dated for years in America and are getting divorced. This woman and I are both cooperative and supportive people and I think we have a great chance and I am willing to accept a calculated risk because of who I think she is and who I am.

I probably won't include them now. I did a search and came up with the idea that the Embassy's look for scams or that you might be buying a wife.

I agree with it looks like fraud UNLESS as someone else suggested, it's around her birthday. I would never show money transfers of proof of a relationships because they're not. They CAN be, but they can also be proof that someone is being paid for something, or someone is being taken for a ride.

There actually was a thread recently where a guy was sending his fiancee money for more than 6 months. We told him not to mention it. As it turns out she was using him for the money and never planned to leave her country. Most scams involve money, whether to buy a wife/cleaner/baby-sitter (which is apparently something the Philippines consulate looks for given what I've read), or whether the US citizen is being scammed for money.

Proof of sending gifts, PHYSICAL gifts rather than monetary gifts are better. If you have an email around her bday saying what she wants for her bday and you suggesting money to buy it, then the receipt would look good TOGETHER with the email proof.

In either event TAKE it with you but do not show it unless you think you need to, or unless you're asked. I would also take any emails pertaining to the sent money in case showing the money looks bad, then you have email proof of what the money was for... it means they're less likely to accuse you (or her) of fraud due to sending money. It's risky but all the other proof, of her meeting your mother, of your visits, of spending time together THOSE are what are important. The fact that you're going to the interview also will look good.

Obviously, it crosses our mind that they might think we are buying them but only we know whether this is true or not. My fiance has never asked for money and tells me not to send it.

I emailed the Embassy and asked them about a mispelling of my fiancees' mothers first name on her birth certificate. I told them we wanted to follow the birth certificate spelling. I think I told them she had a passport already too so maybe that helped.

The reply I got back stated that : This process is about my fiancee, not the mother. It should be fine.

So what is the rule of thumb if you have a misdemeanor on your record that is not any of the ones mentioned in the I-129F question. Should you mention it or not?

The I-129F only asks for CERTAIN types of convictions many of which don't apply to the average person (besides domestic violence).

So if you have 1 conviction for something that is not listed on there should you even mention it? Because technically they only ask if you have been convicted of any of the following crimes.


Follow the form. Follow the form. Do not deviate on this one. I wouldn't send in any other information because it doesn't apply at all. Worse case scenerio you will get an RFE. Just get your certified court records from the court house in advance and keep them at home in case they ask for them. This same advice was given to me. I think it is the most sound. You are not ommitting anything if it doesn't apply.

All other charges would be documented and presented to the recipient to make sure they were formally aware of any thing that was in your background. After reading and reading and reading the instructions on the USCIS site, I called this morning for assistance.

I was able to get right to a person after taking advice from a thread and calling very early.

I started off asking my questions about the G-325a.

My fiancee does not have a middle name, what should I put in this box.

She stated that absolutely no box can be left blank on the forms. She said you must put N/A for the box.
For the line for former husband, first name, dob, city and country of birth, date of marriage, and place of marriage.

She said that every box must be filled out. So I put none for current husband and N/a for everything else on the line.

Then I asked about the I-129F part A question 10. SHe said that she could not legally answer a question dealing with the I-129F. SHe told me to get a laywer for this form. I am not joking! That is what she said.

My question to you is should I call back and try for another person or ask for an immigration officer? Or what? How can we get help for the form?

You got so lucky. I am suprised they answered that much. They were much less helpful with me. Don't count on them at all. Just use VisaJourney.com and common sense. After you have read about 50 hours of reading on Visajourney.com you will have a much better idea of what to do. I called an attorney and they wanted me to deposit $ 300 to talk to them. I've spent enough money on attorneys in my like ($ 15,000 ) to know they will soak you. You can do it. If you can read English, you can do it. Just read everything twice or three times and you will get through it. Also, in most cases the answer should be "NONE" and not "N/A". Don't put "N/A" for a "None" answer or it might get returned. In the questions that state "If your..." I didn't put anything but maybe I can go back and put N/A. The reason is that the "If" questions didn't apply to me. :thumbs:

Photos are indeed important, they are evidence you have personally met. Tickets, hotel receipts etc. are important also but show you were in Manila, not necessarily meeting her. I think this is the approach USCIS will take if you send in a 129f package minus pics. I really think your 129f will be denied or receive a RFE without pics.

I see two choices. 1) Go back for a visit taking proper pics with both of you together
2) Take a chance by submitting the 129f sans pics and hope for no RFE.

Maybe someone else here has experience with this..............

1. Pictures are really essential evidence for your primary evidences like your plane stubs. Primary evidence needs supporting documents to back it up. Pictures of you and her, you both and her family, you both with her friends; those are good pictures to show to the adjudicator that you have bonafide relationship.
2. Your K1 packet should be sent to Texas regardless of where you are in the US. It will be routed to California or Vermont depends on which state you came from.

You can go ahead and submit your K1 packet, but prolly be getting some RFE for the pictures? I dont know. Good luck! :)


I agree pics are primary (meaning to me mandatory) evidence. Not 1 pic together in 8 visits?

I believe sending in a petition now will be a waste and surely result in a RFE. Once a RFE is received, you have a limited amount of time to correct this. You will then have to travel back for pics (6-8 pics are fine). Everything I have read here on VJ says pics are needed.

Maybe someone out there has had this issue and can give some insight to what happened and if there is anyway around this.

My fiance' and I have submitted a K1 visa application. She is from the Phillipines and I am from the US. I have been hearing a little about age difference being an issue with approval. I am 51 and she is 31. I realize this is a 20 year spread, but she is no teenager. I would think that it may be more of an issue if she were younger, say 18-25 and I was 38-45. We are almost 60 days into our wait after NOA1.

What do you VJ'es think? Will this be an issue?

i know this isn't the correct section for this question but i'm not sure which one i need.

we have gone to Manila & done the interview passed the interview & are waiting for the visa to arrive. it's been over a week now & i'm wondering how much longer it's going to be. i've heard so many different time frames that i'm not sure which one to believe.


Ours took about 8-9 days. My wife lived in Mindanao so it took a little longer.

Delivery times vary considerably depending on where the delivery address is located. Add in any USA or Philippine holidays to the mix and it can take a bit longer.

Don't worry........the hardest parts are over!!!!!!

Hey everyone..... i hope you all doing good in this visa chaos and waiting time...blah..
i have two tiny questions maybe someone can help me that would be awesome. i just got the DS 230 Form and have to fill it out and send back to frankfurt embassy. And under two numbers im lil confused.. like under number 18 it says date of marriage.. but how should i fill it out cuz we dont know it what day we gonna get married yet lil confusing..

and my other question is..that my boss fired me some weeks ago cuz he didnt thought any more reason it to keep me when i leave any way the country. and i didnt found a new job so i decided to move back to my parents for the time to save money and spend some time with my family. i do work a lil bit but not legal.more like under the table at a friends company. so i wonder what i should put in under the question where i work..
do they care what did i do for the last three months?? i mean do they control it somehow??

i agree i would send the form when ur fiance got her case number from the embassy. cuz when u guys get the noa2 then she will get a letter from the american embassy from her country with a new case number and in the letter it says what u guys need.
so send it then. cuz she needs ur tax return for the interview make it fresh as possible.

go with the no1 date whats on ur paper.and with ur noa2 count 6-7month in. the uscis is pretty slow. i know it sucks big time but stay in there keep checking ur case online if someone touched it or not. i wish u a FAST case. so that u get ur no2 quick. cuz waiting is the worst ever
