I really love this site and thank everyone for making all these wonderful post. It's nice to get personal with each other and say what we are going through on an emotional level. Reading these post made me feel I'm not alone.

I was lucky enough to work with a Lady who just went through the K-1 process and told me about this site. I couldn't afford a lawyer and without this site I wouldn't have got this far with no major set backs. As long as u research, research, research, post, post, post, and check everything 10 times over, the average person can do this well. Minus those who may have difficult cases and unique issues.

We did however have a hick-up with packet 3 and some misinformations and it was probably one of the most stressful times in my life. When ur entire future is in the hands of of an interview. Questions like what if he gets denied. My world would be crushed!!!!

I was so lucky to have spent 3 months with Natoy while going through this process. I would just stare at him in admiration for hours. I saw how he lived and how different it was from me. Not better or worse just very different. I maybe checked VJ once while I was with him and hardly thought about it. Unlike when I'm away from him I'm on here every single day just about. When i came back to the states a week later there in the mail-box was an approved NOA2. The downside is that we didn't have constant internet access in Jamaica and we were not prepared. Now that I have everything together and sent to him it is like a huge weight is lifted off my sholders.
It's in God's hands now. I cried happy tears last night becuase I pictured him being here with me, and the being away from him is almost over!
I cried becuase I was going to help in the furfilling of a wonderful, deserving, amazing man's dream. I cried in disbelief that my fairy tale could actually come true. I am younger than some on here and it is so exciting
to be finally in an adult good serious relationship. I never knew it could feel so good. PLEASE LET HIM BE HERE SOON!!! I too couldn't handle any
major set backs...It would break my heart to be so close and have my future with the man I love takin from me. Who would be better than Nattoy? Who or what could ever come close to filling that gap of not being with him ? What the heck would i do then? How could I get over it? Would i be strong enough to go on and try something else that could take another 7 or 8 months and still no semi garantees. AHH i don't even want to think about it.
Even though Nattoy says I will go there and be with him, I don't think I would becuase there is so much I want to do here still.(but I might just have 2 to be with him) Sometimes I think why couldn't I have met him here? Why am I going through this? It takes it's toll for sure, but I know there is a good reason.
The foundation of our relationship is so strong and we treat each other so well! We have such a love and respect for each other, and if we can get through this what couldn't we get through.





For everyone going through this process I wish them nothing but to be with the one they love!! From one VJer to the other..... I feel what it
feels like to have bad nerves and not know if you will have ur happiness. I won't be able to truly smile until I hear APPROVED! It does
make me feel better to know I'm not alone and to really get out what i'm going through.

What it means when it says she can stay on an I-130; that is for a couple who, for whatever reason could not marry in the 90 days (death in the family, illness, ect.) but still wants to marry. They just couldn't do it in the 90 days becuase of extreme circumstances. She cannot stay here legally unless she marrys the petitioner in 90 days, or petitioner has a good reason they couldn't marry in 90 days, and applys for the I-130.

No everyone does not send their petition to Dallas. Depending on where one lives is what determines where the petition will be sent. If you look at guides for k-1 it will tell you where you send your petition based on where you live. I live in Florida so I send my k-1 petition to the Vermont Service Center. At the Vermont Service Center is where my petition will be approved or denied. Mine was approved and sent to the NVC. National Visa Center. From there they sent my petition to the US embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. My fiance then recieved packet 3 from the US embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. From there we sent in what they wanted beck to the embassy, and we are now waiting for packet 4. In packet 4 we will recieve an interview letter.

I will tell you that the closer it got to the end of the process the more higher were the stress levels and anxiety. Just don't give up and know it is completely natural. I petitioned for the love of my life Natoy despite all the heat I was taking from family and friends worried he was no good. The minute I saw him at the airport all the worry was all gone and replaced with bliss. He is here and I couldn't be happier. He is the best man I ever had and I am having the best time of my life. So hang in there. It is very scary and it really is a journy but if you reach the finish line you would have already overcome so many things together!!! I'm looking at my fiance right now and I appreciate everything we went through for me to beable to look over at him whenever i want. Hug him! Kiss him! cuddle with him! This process is not easy, we had fights and miserable moments, but worth it to be with someone who loves you as much as you love them :)

HI, I am an HR administrator- and this info is what I use for parameters in the 401k plan. I only copied the beneficiary
info, but you can access the link. It is an IRS website. You just need identifying information for the beneficiary, not a Social.

Beneficiary Designation Form
Description: The beneficiary form designates who will receive benefits if the participant dies before receiving all of his/her benefits. If the participant is married or was married after becoming a participant, there are special rules regarding the benefits that must be paid to the participant’s spouse. If the participant fails to complete this form and dies, the plan will pay benefits as described in the plan document. This may not be in accordance with the participant’s wishes.

What It Should Contain: The beneficiary designation form should contain sufficient information for the participant to successfully name a beneficiary. The form might include:

information identifying the participant (such as name, plan identification number or employee number); the participant’s spouse (such as name, address); and the beneficiary or beneficiaries (such as name, address, relationship to the participant); and


a line for the participant to sign and date as well as a line for the spouse to sign and date if the spouse is designated by the plan to be the participant’s beneficiary and the participant would like to choose someone else to be the beneficiary.
Timing: Employees should receive a beneficiary designation form when they become a plan participant. Generally, the participant may change the beneficiary by completing a new beneficiary designation form.

Who Is Responsible For Sending It: The administrator of the plan.

I know what you are going through.. Its a nightmare.. I got my N0A2 on Monday and honestly believe it was after sending an e-mail.. have you seen it on one of my earlier posts.. if you don't get a reply in a couple of days forward them the same mail, and again, and again. If you get a reply that looks automated? Forward it again and again.. we did and we got a reply from a real person and an approval shortly after.. if you can't find the mail we sent PM me and Ill send it.. Im not going to say hang in there, be patient or any of the condescending nonsense that flies around here from people who are now approved.. Just keep at em and I really hope you get it soon..

We were at 7 months when i got the notification of RFE (of course i had to go through VSC). It took 6 days to get the hardcopy in the mail. They issued RFE because they wanted the pre-translated copy of my divorce decree. (I got divorced in Japan) So my divorce decree was originally all in Japanese. I included the translated copy in the original package; but they wanted both (guess they can read Japanese now). So, I sent in that same day of getting RFE and still waiting. It's been 15 days now.... :unsure:

Yes, all the times that I have called the USCIS line have proven less than helpful...and i just seem to come away feeling more frustrated than before i called. Hopefully this government shutdown thing doesn't last too long and i will be emailing VSC.

Estimates/Stats :Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 22, 2010 and September 8, 2010*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.






I think I would call to check on it.... I do not understand their processing.....how some get approved quickly.. and other sit and wait... but I do not work in the processing center so I will not dare judge what they deal with every day...like all jobs Im sure it would suck to have us hounding them daily ...heck they might get more done lol...but 5 months you have reason to check on it! keep us posted!!

PHEW!! holy moly... they just have to stress me out dont they... We called back and was informed that we do NOT need the agent of record ..that it was error on the reps part our case is fine was entered in the system and is now on its way to london and if we have any other question to contact the embassy... the rep i spoke to this evening was nice enough to break down step for step as to what happens with k1's at the nvc... thank goodness it wasnt something I missed... it does make you question the information they give you and if its right or wrong....always double check.. and dont feel bad about doing it!!

ours is wrong.. we got our noa2 March 4 and the site stayed in review until March 14th I got a text message and email... I assumed it was updating for noa2...nope... it went back to acceptance and said my case is now with the uscis....that stressed me out alil...they even sent a duplicate noa2 dated march 14th... if I had not been emailing them every other day I would not of known it was approved until the hard copy showed up.... touches etc.. arent all that we think they are...

Or does he show up with the medical information the day of the interview?

Hello!! I just got a Notice of Action I-797 today! Its the second letter I have ever received, so I guess its my NOA2. I had signed up to be notified by text and email, but didn't receive either. My status was never updated on the US Immigration website either....


The letter states:
"the above petition has been approved, ad forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The Petitioner ca also file form I-824."

Does this mean that my case has been sent to the NVC?

I have the check list of what I need to send to my Fiance so that he has the correct documents for the interview, but I need clarification on what original documents he needs?

Do I need to send my Original birth certificate?

Do I need to send my Original pay stubs?


At the interview will the Embassy have my original 129F packet I sent in? Will we be able to get all our photos, letters, and papers back?

Hey July Filers,

Just wanted to let you know that after I got the NOA2, dated 10/29/10, but arrived on 11/4/10 I called the NVC today and they said that the day it arrived to them 11/4/10, they sent it out. They said its all electronic, so as soon as they got the clearance they forwarded it on the the Embassy in Argentina. She then told me to call her back in 2 weeks. She said that in the mean time, the Embassy will receive the info, send packet 3 to my fiance, and within 2 weeks we should have all the info set and an interview can be made!

Looks like things go WAY faster after receiving the NOA2!!

Will they do a credit check at some point? Do they just take the face value of what I stated on my affidavit? Do they just look at the paperwork I sent in, tax forms, pay stubs, stocks info, and bank statements?

I just dont want my fiance to go to the interview and they say, "We received the 134, and your US fiance was lying" She actually owes a foreclosed mortgage of $280,000.

Should I try to get a cosponsor to sign quickly and send off the paperwork for the interview?

Ok, I sent in my affidavit HOWEVER as of today things have changed!

My background, what I send in:
I make about $65,000 a year, have about $8,000 in the bank in savings, have about $22,000 in stocks and bonds and I am single(plus the fiance).

HOWEVER today I just found out that my brother never took me off his mortgage for his house and now its in foreclosure. I had no idea I was still on his paperwork, as it was a deal from a long time ago.

I am freaking out.....
My question is- will the government do a financial background check on me at any point after the initial papers sent from the NVC to the Embassy?

Should I quickly try to get a cosponsor and send the papers separately and hope that at the Interview they will accept them???
WIll my fiance be denied if they find out that I unknowingly didnt disclose having a property and now its in forecloser???

Dont worry, we didnt have any RFE's and we didnt have to submit any other information about that. They figured it out- as they should have, since it was listed EVERYWHERE that he was born in Argentina!!
