K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresan old conviction- how do i get records
Best thing is do a back ground check on yourself, there are many good Internet sites where you pay $ 20 or $30 for a onetime back ground check on yourself. This is what USCIS does.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE to show we met in person. HELP!
Prove, prove, proof, what you write in your letters means nothing, I can write a letter with your name on it. Somehow you did not prove to them you meet in person. Did you write on your I-129 Line 18 how you meet. They pay the most attention to the form you fill in, and not some letter you wrote.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVaccinations needed for Colombian
It is best if you get the Vaccinations from the Surgeon General in Bogota. My fiancé had all the Vaccinations from the Red Cross and paid for them. Then she had to get them again from the surgeon general in Bogota, and pay again, the surgeon general told her the vaccinations where to old. It is a scam, but there is nothing you can do about it. She even made her get another passport picture taken from a photo shop the surgeon general send her to. The laboratory, and the Embassy accepted the pictures she had taken in Cali with no problem. Do Not use the Female Surgeon General in Bogota on the Embassy List, unless you want a female doctor.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBeneficiary physical address not reliable; where to use mailing address?
I am not sure about Mexico, in Colombia the U.S. Embassy send nothing to her house, everything was done with Email. When I needed to mail her anything I mailed it to the place of her employment, as a business address the mail was delivered. She would not have gotten the mail otherwise. Just use the address you have from her on all the forms. If she does not have a computer, maybe an Internet café.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Sent Off and I have a Question.
O.K. I sent the I-129f, G-325A, pictures, letter of intent from both of us, boarding passes, itineraries, receipts, passport copies, and included that I had a co-sponsor. I didn't send an engagement letter.. I didn't read anywhere that this was to be included, but I did send our letters of intent to marry W/I 90 days.

I have never filed more than one petition, I don't have a health condition to cause worry, I have no worries of my character always been a good person, I've been with him since January, so, i've met him w/i 2 years, I have a co-sponsor, and I hope I provided them with enough proof we have a relationship. tongue.gif

I'm just scared like I know all of us are or have been that something will go wrong. I wish us all the best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Sent Off and I have a Question.
My K-1 is on it's way to Vermont and I am so nervous. I was wondering if anyone could tell me, what would be the reasons it would be turned down? I provided copies of my Entry Visa, 6 months Tourist Visa, boarding passes and Itineraries for 3 trips i've made, receipts from shopping, pictures, and I also mentioned I had a co-sponsor.

My journey hasn't even begun and i'm already a wreck. sad.gif I'm just afraid I missed something, I should've included or they'll just turn us down flat. Is it very often they ask for more evidence at this stage? I appreciate your repsonses.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-29F Form assistance please? (Helping my US finacee)

Hello there!

I am a new member of VisaJourneys and I am proud to be a part of your community. I have read so many happy stories on this website but now I am in need of some help from anyone who can help me.

Let me give you a backstory to start of with. I live in the UK, my fiancee lives in Tennessee, US. We have known each other for 8 years, been a couple for over 2 years. This March, I took her to Miami to two weeks for her first holiday (ever!) and I proposed to her (see video link below, and she did say yes!). However, when we got back we found out that her only family member has been rushed into hospital. Let's just say that it wasnt how I imagined we would spend my last week with her in the US.

Why did I bring this up? Only because I told her that to take the pressure off her, I (the beneficary, NOT the petitioner) would do all the paperwork for her on her behalf and will send it to her when I feel it is completed. So far I have managed to do the following:

* Covering Letter
* Declaration of Right to Marriage (Myself and hers)
* G-325A (Myself and hers)
* I-29F
* 1 x passport photo of myself (will sign it before I send it to her)
* Proof of being in a relationship:
* Photocopies of my boarding passes, hotel reciept, credit card evidence & 1xphoto for March 2011
* Photocopies of my boarding passes, credit card evidence & 1xphoto for October 2011
* Photocopies of my boarding passes & credit card evidence for January 2012
* Photocopies of my boarding passes, credit card evidence, hotel reciept & 1xphoto for March 2012
* Photocopies of Facebook messages dating back since March 2010, MSN log, engagement ring receipt, phone bills (mine not hers) & 2 other photos of us together

Please understand that I have already checked out the guide for filling in the K-1 forms, however it is not the petitioner that is completing the forums I the beneficary is (although once it is all completed I will send it to her, who will in turn will send this with a cheque, 1 x passport photo of herself and sign all forms and photographs).

My question is is this enough? Have I got too much evidence or not enough? My only concern was that I have been going over to see her; not once has she come to the UK to see me because she is severely disabled. Will this affect our petition? We have been talking about her coming to the UK in early July so should we wait until she does that or send it as it is now because we could use her visit as part of our evidence when I have my interview to prove that we still have a continuous relationship after filing this form?

Also after the petition is send and if it is apporved, I know that she has to send evidence of her payslips so it can be proven that she will be able to support me when I move over. Due to her disabiility, she will be claiming disability from the state ( it will be commencing mid-May). Could this be acceptable proof instead of the payslips?

I am sorry that this is so long winded but I could really need some help. I am getting sleepless nights because I keep going over the forums and forms to see if I am missing anything and learning from other people's advice from this forum. I am wanting this to be perfect so the sooner I can move in with her the sooner I can look after my fiancee and soon to be wife. Thank you VisaJourney community!

Kind Regards,

BrockUK

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe RFE Master List
I have a concern for a RFE. Im 20 yrs older then my fiancee and he is the one coming here. ( I pray) I was separated from my ex-husband for 2 yrs and just had my divorced finalized on 9/9/09. We tried doing the B-2 visa first to see if he would like it here but was denied. Something really silly he said. ( A hole in one of the finacial documents from a staple) Is there a chance that we will get an RFE for any of these reasons. His country Ghana. Some relief from anyone if they have any idea. VERY NERVOUS. Thanks for any and all advice.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresanybody can help?
When you receive your packet from the Embassy, they will inform you of all the documentation you need. You will probably have to prove that you are free to marry. This will involve divorce papers if needed or another form of documentation from Serbia. I am not sure about Serbia but in Macedonia, it is on your birth certificate. This is why my fiancee had to get a recent birth certificate. It was stated that he was not married.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe RFE Master List

We got an RFE last week and got the hardcopy on Tuesday. We have to resend/rewrite our Intent to Marry letters. We're assuming that what they need is for us to change the way it's drafted. I think te best course of action is taking the item list described on the RFE and address them in the same order.

Honestly, I can't think of anything else to do on that subject besides signing them with blue ink and all that. They specifically requested our names and date under our signature. Is that really all there is to it?

Has anybody else had a similar case?

Thanks!

So was your signature and date on the Letter of Intent at all? The reason I inquire is because my fiance.. signed next to his printed name and dated the form at the top. Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplications with Affidavit of Support, need help please
Mitchell, I'm sorry but it is not wise bring a person to this country and you have no money. The transition and prejudism and shock she will experience and being poor on top of that is salt on the wound. That is your real complication. If you have no kids you should be with her in her country. At least she will be happy in her environment and with you which make her happy. The US is not the place to live on credit and be poor. What if she gets sick? I hope you make the best decision.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFlow Chart Question

What Todd said + once you add this information to your Timeline, you'll be able to see an estimated processing time frame that will give you a general idea on when the approval of your petition (a.k.a. NOA2) will happen.

Here's an actual Flowchart http://www.visajourn.../content/k1flow

Thank You, that is a nice tool, can't wait to tell my significant other that the process is actually moving forward and give her an idea on our steps through purgatory.

Please edit your Timeline again, and change the Service Center. You want to select Vermont, not Texas.

That will change your estimated date to a more tangible one, because the Texas Service Center does not process K1 visas and you are currently getting wrong data from thanks to that small detail.

Got it.
HiltMaleUkraine2012-10-11 08:28:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFlow Chart Question

This is your NOA1 so you update the timeline with the date received by Vermont and put Vermont in your timeline as well. You will see the received date listed on the actual NOA1 letter (Form I-797C). NOA2 will come months later when Vermont adjudicates your petition.

I updated my timeline with date I received NOA1. Just so I am clear, the NOA2 is an indication that Vermont has received the application and begins the adjudication process, then begins a long delay before approval and before the forwarding of the approved file to embassy or consulate? Timeline says that the time between NOA1 and NOA2 is a few weeks, it seems like the long delay is after NOA2. Maybe I am just misreading things.

Thanks for your response.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFlow Chart Question
Newbie here full of redundant questions:
1) where does the following response from the Texas processing center, where I sent my I129-F, fall into the timeline flow chart?
"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing" this is followed by information regarding my case number and how to track my case. Is this my NOA1? Or my NOA2? It sort of sounds like they are done reviewing the case and its off to Vermont but that would indicate that they skipped a step or two.
Thanks in Advance

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Result: 221(g)

Sorry, I didn't explain myself properly, I meant, using that as a guide to get evidence of your relationship, if its used in the past for physically meeting, then perhaps it can be used in another context, like proof of an ongoing relationship, your friends and family writing letters about seeing your relationship evolve, from the beginning to now.

But it looks like baron555 might be onto something useful for you. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA few K1 questions
After searching around this site I still find myself with a few questions I hope some of you can help me with.

1- I cancelled a K1 last year to another woman. The process was stopped by myself not the Gov. I am going to file again with another woman. Does my first filing require me to do anything differently with my new application ?

2- Income requirements. What is this based on ? My most previous W2 forms from 2012, pay check stubs, bank records ? Before taxes I make around 18,700 a year.

3- My first time around filing I used a visa service as it helped me to stream this tedious process. I want to try it on my own this time, via this site, but I'm a little timid about this all. When I send in my initial information, what paper work do I need from my fiancee ?

Thanks all :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhere do I go to obtain the K-1 Visa?
Be sure to compare all forms you fill out with the forms on-line to make sure that you filled them out correctly before you send them. A lot of people rush and make mistakes and end up getting RFE's. Don't do that. Make sure it is complete when you send it in otherwise you will sweat for four months like I did worrying that you might get an RFE. I didn't get one but I left off two fields that should have had 'N/A' like where the Alien # goes and something else simple I missed. Usually the divorce papers or not sending solid evidence of being with your fiancee in the same location are reasons to get an RFE.

We just finished the process. We did it ourselves. We started around September 1st and got approved in February 15th. She arrives this weekend.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhether to include western union receipts in evidence of relationship
Has anybody on this site ever gotten turned down for submitting Western Union receipts? I doubt it.

I am going to stick my neck out here because I have read through many of these discussions, talked with people who got approved after they submitted receipts. In any case where the woman is less advantaged, the man is going to send money.

It's not so much about the Western Union. It's about the overall relationship. If you send money and she doesn't speak the same language as you and you have an interpreter, your going to get denied anyway. Likewise, if you have little evidence... IT IS ALL ABOUT YOUR TOTAL PROOF. Not about the money you send. If any reasonable person can see you have a bonified relationship, don't be concerned with the receipts so much.

If I was a CO, I would deny you if you didn't send any money because they want to know that you are care about the woman and will take care of them. I think if someone was going to harm a woman, he wouldn't send her money.

Good luck. Our interview is coming up and we will submit some receipts like others have to. This is based on the Philippine Embassy. I am unfamilar with others.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOne way ticked from the Philippines

I just want to be completely sure that my fianceé is not going to have any issues when she arrives. The difference in price for a round trip ticket from the Philippines is more than double the cost of a one way ticket. So ...

Has anybody had any negative experiences with a one-way ticket to the USA on the K-1 visa?

Thanks, everybody. The last time I asked a question here, I was flooded with really good information. :D

I had the opposite ticket issue. A R/T was about 30% less than a one way. So I just got a R/T and did not use the return portion. If INS had seen this (they did not) and were to ask why she had a R/T for a K1, I would tell them R/T were so much cheaper.

I agree you will not have any issues with a one way.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswil file soon (129F) need your advice

Hi vjs

I need your advice. My fiance will file soon our 129F and im just worried on our petition.

We met august 2010 in a mall, exchanging email address on each other but we didnt take pictures.

I left philippies december 2010 for work abroad (KSA) and il finish my contract december 2012.

We started our communication jan 2011.

Now were about to file our 129F im just worried that on our package we dont have pics together the only thing missing on the list of requirements

but he stil have his tickets n stamps and other more

will we get an RFE for that lost? or denied?

help please!!!

thanks

charllotte

One of the many requirements for the 129F is proof of having personally met within 2 years of filing the petition. The key is PROOF. Pictures together along with airline tickets, hotel receipts etc. are the standard proof of having met.

Lacking pictures I feel will certainly result in a RFE. The solution is to meet, take pictures together in several different settings then file the petition along with your other evidence.

Best wishes.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOops! A week after sending I-129F and...

It will go to Vermont.
There is only California and Vermont.

Difficult to know about the unnamed photo - it may get through. It depends on how picky they are on the day.
Best of luck (F)

p.s. Dont send anything until you get an RFE ... 99% of the time it will not connect. RFE's aren't all bad. At least it means they are now looking at your petition and once you reply (should you get one), it is usually resolved pretty quickly.

Jacksonville does have a service center but not for your 129F application. It is possible you will be assigned to the Jacksonville service center for bio-metrics, but that is later when your fiancee is here and you file for AOS and ROC. You will receive a letter in the mail telling you which center to go to. Overall the Jacksonville center is good, all our appointments for biometrics went well and rather quickly. The center is easy to find with lots of parking.

Best wishes.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestake photos for wedding before K-1 Visa

NO

If the consulate sees anything that could indicate you are married they can deny the visa. And DO NOT post them on facebook or allow anyone else to do that. Do not refer to weach as "husband and wife" or worse "hubby" or "wifey" (yuck) and do not allow anyone else to do so. There was recently a case here on VJ where the consulate had discovered a couples "wedding" photos just as yours were on Facebook. They denied the visa, claimed visa fraud and applied a lfetime ban to the foreign fiancee for attempted visa fraud. They are now appealing that. Isn't Facebook wonderful?

Many visas have been denied because the happy couple could not wait to refer to each other as "hubby" or "wifey" and included such references in the emails they presented as evidence. Brilliant.

i agree with u about the pictures gives them a reason to deny the visa. but the nickname phrase wifey and hubby isnt really a major problem. my husband and i always prefer to each other like that and in emails and that and didn't had any problem. they thought more it was really cute

the form I-134 has to be original signature. and the tax return and w2 should be original as well but from my fiance he just had his online ( even his payment check from his job) so he send it to me via email and i printed it out, that was ok for the embassy. but its different with the country. do you have a direct contact person yet at the embassy?? if so u always can call them or send them an email and ask with ur case number if its ok to have copies or print outs.
you find the contact information http://podgorica.usembassy.gov/ here.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparation for Interview
does he have already a interview date??or does he still needs to call them for a date?? normally mail needs 1-2 weeks if it just a letter. unfortunately they want a original signature for the I-134 form. mostly if your fiance dont has that document with him by the interview and has like a print out version they going to give him a green paper sheet and give you guys some time to send it to them then. mostly like 4 months they put the visa on hold. and if you send it then to them and it is all good they going to approve the visa :) good luck you two....
