K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter from Congresswoman

Well, I received a letter from my Congresswoman today. It did give me more hope than I have had in awhile, she stated in her letter that she would help find out what the hold up was. I just had to fill out a form and give her written consent to contact CSC on my behalf, she responded really quickly. I just emailed her on Thursday and I got the letter in the mail from her today. So, my hopes have gone from nothing to actually feeling much better, knowing that their is someone out there that will at least "try" to help me with this. Even if she gets no more of a response than I did, I will know that I have taken the steps necessary to get the information I can...it makes you feel a little better anyway. I just want to thank everyone on this site for being here for me through all of this, it is the toughest thing I have ever had to go through, as I know it is for everyone else as well.

Calidreamer, I would say you should go ahead and contact your Congressperson also, or have your fiance do it. At least they may be able to do something we cannot....

Wishing everyone the best of luck

~Stacey

I would say go ahead and email him first, they will probably send you an authorization form to sign so they have your permission to speak with CSC on your behalf. I have to say my Congresswoman was very prompt responding to me, hopefully yours will be too, just make sure to put your address and all of your details in the email so they know where to send the authoriztion form to. Best of luck to you.

~Stacey

I was typing a letter for my Congressman too, and was planning on sending it via Fedex since I thought they dont really respond to email, but your post gave me a new hope.
I think I will email him first, and maybe call and see if he received it later? What do you suggest?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressimple question!
Yeah you don't get an email when the status date changes, just when they have done something major in the case, like NOA2, and I have seen where people didn't even get email for that either. So, if I were you I would just keep checking the status too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressecurity checks

I e mailed USCIS and they wrote back that our case is undergoing security checks like other cases and told to email back in 60 days if we dont hear anything....

so I am just wondering ....who here got the same rseponse before..and how fast did they get their NOA2? i hope i dont have to wait 2 more months

please let me know

Hi Julie

I wrote and got the exact same response you did, my case is now at 116 days, no answer in sight. I did contact my Congresswoman's office and I filled out the authorization form so that she may contact them to find out what the blankety blank is going on with my case. I have not heard anything back from her as of yet, and my frustration is building more and more each and every day. I know exactly how you feel, all we can do at this point is try and stay as positive as possible. I am going to email them again as soon as the next processing date arrives, I am not waiting any 60 freaking days...they may give me the same answer, but I am going to bug the hell out of them, until I find something out. I am wishing all of us waiting the best of luck and the ability to have patience and not go freaking crazy

116 days?? How can I be 117 if you are at 116? What would that make me at cuz something is wrong in the days I've been counting. Help! Thx

Calidreamer, I think you should be at 113 days, since your NOA1 is three days after mine....I am pretty sure my counting is accurate, but who knows I could be wrong too LOL :)

Yeah I recounted and its been 109 days from when i sent the 1-129F and 103 from the noa2. Still damn long tho. Someone needs to count right and double check this haha. I'm confused lol. But ya its taking way longer than it should be.

Hey Cali, I recounted yours and mine both, didn't have anything else better to do, couldn't sleep LOL :)
This is what I came up with, as of today, 5/19/06, you are at 114 days, and I am at 117 days...I am pretty sure this is accurate.....This is counting from the NOA1 date and including weekends...do we include the weekends? Never thought about that one? I know I am obsessing on this...hehe, better than obsessing on other things I guess..... ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresToday marks 121 days
I am just a little bit frustrated today, to say the least. Today marks 121 days, I emailed CSC again even though they told me not to for another 60 days, and of course I got the same answer.

"Unfortunately the situation has not changed. The petition is undergoing security checks which is required of all petitions and application. Security checks have no time limit to the processing time. Please inquire again in 60 days if you do not receive a request for additional evidence or a approval notice."

I am still waiting on a response from my Congresswoman too, she is supposed to be checking into it for me as well, although they will probably just tell her the same thing. Just feeling a little low today :(
I miss my sweetheart so much and wish he was here with me right now, but I know it will all be worth it in the long run....thank you all for listening :luv:

Your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received on January 23, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFinally got a response from Congresswoman

Ok, I contacted my Congresswoman regarding my case, today marks day 135....she called me today and stated she got a response from CSC, they stated basically the same thing to her as they did to me that my case is undergoing "security checks" the only difference is they told her that it could take another 6 MONTHS to complete my case!!!! We have already waiting almost 5 months. Does this make any sense to anybody????

Has anyone had to wait this long to be approved, over a year??? Do you think I will really have to wait 6 more months???? :crying:

If it makes you feel any better-my congressman was told the same thing & I rec'd a letter telling me the same thing.....................we rec'd the noa2 about a month after that phone call & letter.

hope it goes quickly for you-just jeep in mind that they say it will take 6 months-but that doesn't mean that it will. my letter from USCIS said 6 months & it certainly wasn't!

chin up (F)

That actually does make me feel much better, thanks Irish Girl, hopefully it will go the same way for me

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia/Texas NOa1's before March 6 look complete
I have absolutely no clue what mine is all about, unless it has something to do with the fact that my finace is originally from Pakistan.....other than that I don't know. He does not reside in Pakistan and has not resided there for years, he is residing in South Korea now, and that is the Consulate that is going to be used. So, I have not clue, he has no trouble with the law, no visa problems, clean record, has been to visit me twice over the past 4 years....so I have no idea why these security checks are goin gon our case and holding us up. all i know is it is becoming very frustrating and I am getting sick and tired of waiting around for USCIS to get off their butt and do something, I wish you the very best of luck and hope you do not have any of the problems Sarah and I have been having over the past 5 months now. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDay 141 since NOA1

Man it seems all I do is wait and wait and wait. I emailed CSC again yesterday and they didn't even reply this time. Fiance is mailing a letter as well as a release of info form to his two california senators tomorrow to get them to look into it. This is all ridiculous. I am worried they will get so caught up in this IMBRA stuff that they will forget those of us who are still waiting from January and go and process those of the ppl from March 6th and foward. I'm really going to be pissed if that happens too because its' not fair. Then again in this game nothing seems fair. I swear I'm almost at my wits end. My fiance is coming to visit again next month when he was just going to wait til the interview. Well that looks like a long way off so he figures he better come now or he won't see me til mid fall or something. *sigh* I will never understand this whole process and why its not done with more consistency. I just needed to vent so thanks for listening. Seems I'm doing alot of venting these days on here

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures30 days over processing times?
Well, I think, I am now 30 days over processing times now that the processing dates for CSC have changed again. I decided to email CSC again and ask them to investigate my case as to why I am still under the standard security checks and nothing is happening in my case. I got the same exact answer as I have been getting for the past 2 months. I just don't understand this?????? I don't know why this is taking so long for us. Neither one of us have common names, and neither one of us have ever been in any kind of trouble or been arrested. This is the response I got today....

The petition is undergoing security checks as required of all
applications and petitions. There is no time limit to this processing.
Please inquire again in 45 days to allow time for some type of action to
occur.

Thanks,
McClellan, CAO
Division XII, Customer Service

How much freaking time do they need for some type of action to occur!!!!! This is getting so ridiculous. Thank you everyone for listening just needed to vent.

I am still hanging in here with ya, I have been so frustrated lately too. I know what you are going through, you and I have been going through this entire process together seems like. It seems as if our cases are going through the exact same thing, HUH. Hopefully you will have better luck with your senator than I did. Good luck to you , I am glad you finally got in contact with them at least. Hopefully they can give you some answers. We really need some at this point. I guess I am just going to wait another month and see if anythign happens at the magic 6 month mark. Good Luck to you you are in my thoughts.
