Awesome, I'll definitely get it next time around inshaAllah, along with the Blue Corn and Chocolate book.

Also, I am beyond in love with the Kneadlessly Simple book. I made light whole wheat bread this weekend, and it was fabulous <img src="http://www.visajourn...star_smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":star:" border="0" alt="star_smile.gif" /> The only problem I encountered was that it rose too much the second time around and overflowed the pan, but I think that's because it calls for a cool room rise the first time around, and we don't really have a cool room in our hot hot hot apartment. Also, I let it rise for 3 hours while I was out shopping, instead of the 2 it called for. But, it was still very very tasty.

I've got another batch of the pot bread rising at home right now and inshaAllah I'll bake it tonight. I'm going to have to start buying flour in bulk <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/kicking.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="kicking.gif" />

I also made creamy potato and roasted garlic soup from the love soup book, and it is delicious too. I *heart* garlic.

Here's a picture of my first pot bread attempt. I ended up getting a 5 quart dutch oven, which is alas, too big. The loaf ended up a little flat, but it was still very very tasty. I'll have to keep my eye out for a 3-4 quart dutch oven on sale some time

Your bread looks so yummy...I am glad that the cookbooks list was posted. Its as if God had been listening to me these past few days. I had been looking for new things to change our diet because I feel so drained and awful. Basically we want to start cooking (well more of I) more healthier. I am a cookbook fanatic, but since I have been so busy with school, just let them sit. When my grandmother died, thats what I got. So now with the help of my MENA fam, I can revamp my love for cooking wish dishes from all over. Thanks everyone.

*I need to get on the bandwagon with organic though. Any suggestions for starting small because my hubby doesn't like to overspend at all.

You are definately right. How can we care for our families if we aren't there? That is good that you guys at least keep the communication going. With me being in school it is so hard for my husband and I to keep it up. That is what you could do.....keep talking and keep the memories alive. Be positive. You will be together, some way or another.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!

It has been 1 year 15 days since I left him the first time...and 5 months 4 days since my last visit with him.

Like S and S....good days then the bad days. Wish I was in one of the good days right now, but I am not. For the first time ever, my husband allowed me to see the toll this is taking on him also, this past Friday....it is very hard for any man to allow you to see him in a weakened state, and anta habibi is NO different!

We talk every night without fail, and we talk on the phone about every other day. We send e-cards, actual letters in the mail, and on the weekend we have our family time together: I speak with my Moroccan family on the cam and he talks with me and the kids, and my parents if they come over.

We also like to reminisce about our times together....it helps to have those memories!

We do not give up....no matter what!

After this Tuesday's 2nd interview....one way or the other we will be together! Either he is coming here or our son and me are meeting him in Spain or London to live.

It is not natural to be away from your spouse like this! It really isn't! Wives are meant to care for their families to nurture them...how can you when the key person is missing? Men are meant to protect and provide for...how can they when there is no one to do that for??

I keep remembering that we are not given more than we can handle....and in the end we will all be stronger for it! Our marriages will be built on a strong foundation, not sand that can so easily be washed away.

Good Night All! good.gif

I have been also getting ready for that being that I graduate with my BSW in December and that is one thing my husband will miss. I have been getting little things here and there, but have been wondering about the Arabic channels and which company to switch to to get them.

You know i am all about the quick rip off band aid then the slow pull too. It seems to be harder on my husband these days its like we are taking turns i've been sick lately and he is just at his end he is done and ready to "come home" I am ready to have him so what i've been doing is shopping for clothes for him when he is here, getting the Arabic channel ready to go on tv, cleaning out the closets... anything to do with extra energy and moving forward.

not sure if that will help you but it does me.... and VJ of course

You know I really look up to you because I don't know how I would do it if I had to wait 2 years. I mean I don't know what I would do, but that is something I would have to do. We have to because you love our significant other. The bad days seem really hard. Don't give up and I hope it gets easier for you. Hang in there, trust me, your time will come....

I want to know how long it has been for everyone to be separated from their spouses. This whole process is rediculous of making us be separate for so long. I have been apart from my husband now for 4 months and do not know when I will go back to Morocco. How is everyone else dealing and coping?

Don''t feel alone. The same happened with mine and I submitted mine in December. It still doesn't show up. I called USCIS and they said that in Nov they received a lot of the I-129F and just stopped inputing them in the system. Great.............

For a lot of MENA countries, the same applies. My husband's mother didn't know when she was born, they didn't have it documented, but they at least know the year. That is all we put on the I-130 form and that was ok. I am sure they see this often and won't see it as a problem.

Hey,

Congrats on the filing...I just finished the CR1 path....I would really study the guides on here because trust me you don't need a lawyer and you don't want RFEs. Send in whatever evidence you can in the beginning so that you don't get any either. Like a couple of pictures, copies of your itinerary, letters of your relationship from others, emails, just a few so that they have it. In terms of the living abroad question, I put none, because I don't think it counts unless you leased an apartment together.

Good luck

Oh, I know what you are talking about. When we turned it in, my husband and I did not worry about our names, neither his nor mine (obviously) being written in Arabic. We just put N/A, I think something as small as that is usually let go because on our marriage license our names were written in English and everything else Arabic. Is this what you are talking about? I would not send another package though.

Hi, My fiance lives in North Carolina...He is a soldier..We met online 3 years ago and our friendship got strong within the last year and we decided that we were meant for each other last December while he was deployed overseas...He visited me here in Morocco after on his leave and spent all his leave with me and got to know my family and my friends then we got engaged..He applied for the K1 visa and sent all the required papers on October 1/08 after he returned to the United states.

I want to know what forms I need to fill for my interview and all the requirement papers for me as an alien fiance.

all answers are greatly appreciated,

Thank you,

Hello,

I would like to congratulate you on your engagement. Personally I do not know much about the K1 visa process but what I would say is do as much research as you can. If you're like me, this website will become your best friend is terms of helping you figure out what you need and will guide you through the necessary steps. You have also just started your journey, like me, and I hope it will not be a long one in terms of getting your visa. I wish you the best of luck and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Casandra

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLost my ticket stubs, can a DNA test on the baby be proof of having met?
QUOTE (squeaky580 @ Aug 2 2009, 08:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Before I ask this, I want to be clear that I am NOT asking if having a child can be considered proof of the seriousness of the relationship or of ongoing contact. I understand that a child is not a pawn to be used to get someone into the country, and I have proof of ongoing relationship in the form of letters and packages between us, INSANE phone bills, and chat logs, as well as letters from both our families..

My question is this- shortly after I returned from Morocco in March, I had to move quickly, in an emergency situation, and my ticket stubs from the trip were lost in the move (they're tiny little things). I DO have my passport which was stamped for arrival to Morocco and admission back to the US, but the stamp is rather blurry, and I'm not sure if I can contact the airline to ask if they can provide proof that I was on the flight. I'm due to have our baby late in November, and planned to apply for him shortly thereafter, and wondered if a DNA test of our daughter can be used to establish that we have met within the past two years, as he has had no prior contact with US Immigration and has never left Morocco.

Thank you all in advance for not chastising me about getting pregnant before marriage. It happens, and I am aware of the situation I have placed myself in.. I don't need reminders smile.gif And thank you also in advance for your advice.

Sarah

Congrats on your baby girl. What I did was make copies of the pages in my passport. You can try to make it darker because I know it can be blurry. If you had your flight itinerary emailed to you, you could try printing that out if the airlines proves not to be so helpful. That is what I did because I think I just had thrown the stubs away not thinking about the process. Get started on the process as soon as you can, who knows maybe you could get an NOA2 by November. Never know. I did read something about DNA tests, I would say yes it could be used to prove you have ties together, but I am sure a senior member could shine more light on that. I hope I have been of some help.

Hubby traveled on an expired greencard with his extension letter and just came back this Wednesday. He said they gave him a little hassle and took a little longer as they had to read through the letter and often find someone that spoke English, but otherwise he did okay. We called USCIS today and they told us they just started working on files from 8/22/2011 and prior to that. Man I hope October comes up soon. I hope that this does not interfere with Aziz's school and financial aid. I doubt it though.

I print out my chat logs in Skype....You can do it several ways. On the tool Menu you can click chats and ask to be shown your recent chats. If you have the upgraded version you can click the tab next to the contacts tab called conversations and click on that person's name and can view all of your chat logs from the beginning. If it doesn't show it, check your archive settings as well, but it should be in there. I recently printed everything out that was worth 5 months because you have the option of viewing the entire history. If you have more questions feel free to message me.
