More approvals in the october thread today....nice to see VSC moving along at a steady pace now :)

I have marked my 5 months mark on the calander today works out to be May 12th, its crazy how long away that it seems to be, but i have a focus on that date now and anything before that is just fine with me and the other half....either way i am busy saving for the rest of the visa fees now that i am actually employed again and a trip out to oklahoma for a friends wedding in June. Man how i would have loved for that to be my final flight for a while but alas i have come to terms with the fact i'll be coming back to england after the wedding :(.

Another one here who doesn't drink instead I am using excerise as my drink (seeing as i haven't touched a drop in three years) i find jumping on the cross trainer helps with the stress and moves my focus.

You forgot to mention that we always refer to MapT as "Oh Captain, my Captain"

To true....

I got my police record back today, as its valid for a year in the UK i decided to put it in a few weeks ago, didn't think it would be this quick in its turn around, my last crb took 6 weeks so was impressed by the immigration one, at least something has come in quick, now just to focus on thet coverted NOA2, but all in due time.

Hellzbelz - that is just how i feel about my SO, its amazing to know that there is someone out there that can make us feel this way...just sucks that there is so much paperwork and red tape in the way. I want to start planning our wedding but have finally agreed to stop well at least time we get the NOA2, when we can finally get a rough estimate of when we could actually set the wedding or decide on doing a small thing with just the two of us, before doing a big one at a later date.

We use MSN and Skye when MSN is being a pain in the neck. We have saved all chat logs and I have printed 3 random ones from each month for the last 12 months as well as the Skype logs. Also printing out some of the emails from over the time as well. I have it all in a binder folder tabbed so that the Interviewer can see them easily.

keeping things for interview evidence we just save our skype history, as alex was able to find a program online that when he installed it on our comps all we need to do is open up skype hit this program key and in 5 secs you have your skype call history in a pdf file, showing all our calls to each other, i wont be adding chat logs as we do voice contact mainly, due to the fact that when we are able to talk its 12:30am my time and i am shatterd so typing is out of the question. I get to see him while snuggled up in bed and i dont have to think when talking, hearing his voice is the perfect end to any day.

we do however keep up with emails, facebook messages which we use like texting as we both open them for our phones but with the advantage of keeping costs down, a tonne od photos and three lots of boarding passes from aug 09 to feb 2010 so i'm sure we will be ok.

good news with the nov filers getting approvals through now, at least we can see VSC working again lol, just think 5 weeks and we could soon start seeing them...wishful thinking lol

Waiting is waiting, its so hard but the more positive we are now the easier it will be. Keep up the good mood everyone!!!!!

I cope by staying busy and daily contact with the SO, yesterday was a really hard day, with missing him and he has only been gone for less then a week, but i got through it and i feel so much better for it today :)

Its reading tthreads in this group that keeps me motivated, why moan about something we can not change!!!!! also figure this the more we accept the situation we are in the quicker time will go, its been 2 months already and it still feels like just last week that we were in CVS getting our passport photos done ready for him to post the file on.

I drove myself crazy waiting for that NOA1, and that was just a week so i vowed i wouldn't be like that with the NOA2. i just keep myself busy and set other targets that i am able to look forward to.

who has the harder wait?? the one in the States or the one elsewhere?? I guess the wait sucks no matter which you are but i guess that being the one moving I can keep myself busy by spending as much time with family and friend here, doing stuff I have wanted to do in England but not gotten round to it, going through my stuff and working as hard as i can to put money away for the rest of the visa and wedding stuff :)

No news on the NOA2 yet but congrates to all those that have already had them and good luck for the interview.

I have just had my SO over for a week (dang American holiday policy and him only been able to get 12 days of holiday a year) well after nearly a year of dating he finally met my mum and brother to got their blessing so on Feb 14th (my bday as well as valentines day) he offically asked me to marry him in front of all my family while we were out for dinner...I had no idea he was planning it, and it meant so much to me that he took the time to get it sorted out with them, even though he hardly knew them.

We already put in our visa paperwork back in december after talking about it and because we know how long the process can take, being offically engaged now just seems like i am living a dream, one i never want to wake up from.

Anyway just wanted to share my news with the rest of the dec filers :)

Okay,I think you really cheer me up,I am going to be banking on your posts.Cos right now am terribly depressed, and oh no! it has nothing to do with VSC coming to a halt when it comes to us November Filers,I am just depressed because my fiance lost his job, there is way too much suffering and corruption in my country, earthquakes and terrorism...arrgh!
Sorry for digressing, but does it ever happen to anyone here, just a plain feeling low about everything?I am very snappy today, sorry.

But I think everyone here is a hero.period.

I'm really sorry about the job situation I hope and pray that you both can get it sorted out soon so it doesn't effect an already stressful time in your life. We all get low now and again just try and focus on the end goal of being reunited with your loved one, make sure you talk about whats on your mind, don't bottle it as things will only get worse that way

good luck

and i though we had all left high school, yes the whole process sucks but it will be worth it in the end :)

Have a great weekend everyone, i head back to England on Sunday so that is when the wait truly starts for me :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember K-1 2009 Filers VSC

To be quite honest, I think that all is happening with Vermont right now, is that they are, by some sort of weird logic, slowing down to CSC timelines of about 90-100 days processing.
People, it's not THAT BAD, really.

We have to do it once and that's it. Yes, it's hard as hell being apart, but this is one and only time when we HAVE to.

So let's stop with downer posts here, we all need to be helping each other and cheer up :)

I agree, it doesn't matter what we say or do the process will not go any quicker. But remember there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

I have taken to setting myself little targets so i am focusing more on them than on the whole process as it would end up driving me crazy, I have my graduation jan 23rd, my birthday in feb with his first visit to England, a nephews birthday, a trip to OK for another wedding in June and my brother and sister in law are having new baby due in July.

The process will be stressful and i wont lie it will defo be on my mind a lot as i want nothing more then to be with him, but i am defo going to make the most of the time I have left with my family and friends I don't want them to remember me as someone that got way to stressed out with this. This is where this board comes in, we are all going through the same experience so we are all able to be there and support each other.

To cheer you up i did notice that someone who got the NOA1 at the start of November has gotten their NOA2

Lets stick together, we are already half way through January, which means the first month down :)

wow 1 month already, I guess its has only gone quick though as i have been lucky enough to have spent it here in the us with the other half. Also the way my schedule is now the rest of this month and February should go fast as i have my graduation and he is also coming to England to meet my family for the first time :).

All we can do is keep praying for a fast time and hope that it doesn't take too long. I have had to stop myself checking the uscis website daily as i am driving myself insane, we have signed up for emails so i only check it once a a week now....don't know if this will last when i get back to England, but we will see.

Good luck to everyone on a speedy journey

Nearly the end of December already, I actually can't believe how fast its gone, although that may change when i have to go back home mid Jan.

I luckily got a bit of news yesterday that will help my wait as my family is now looking forward to the arrival of a new baby in July smile.gif

Well just wanted to wish everyone here a Happy new year, that will hopefully bring alot of great news as well as some changes for the better in terms of finally being able to be reunited for good with our loved one.

Happy New Year all

check cashed and NOA1 online smile.gif now the long wait begins...well at least we know it got there ok good.gif

Just wondering how to check status of NOA1 online, maybe i am missing something here. Thanks in advance.

When your check has been cashed you should have a 13 digit number on the back starting with EAC, go to the USCIS website and look under check status. You can do a quick look just by putting in you EAC number or alternatively you can sign up for a profile and add your case to that allowing you to get text and email update. Hope this makes sense

Good luck

Hi, Decemeber 2009 VSC filers! I was where you are a year ago.

While waiting for NOA2, I HIGHLY recommend getting everything together for the interview, especially since VSC is currently moving way faster than it was a year ago. It took me 6.5 months for NOA2. During that time, I gathered all the paperwork and evidence for the interview. Then I filled out as much of the AOS/EAD/AP paperwork as possible. Then (since I had so much time), I found out all the details for getting a SSN & getting married in my state.

Doing all that made the wait time productive.

By the time he got here, some of the forms had been updated, but it was easier trasnsferring info from one version to another than if I had to start over. Also, I updated the forms when he got his A #, SSN, wedding date finalized, etc. That made it easy to submit the AOS paperwork a few days after getting married.

Best wishes for a smooth & quick journey for all of you.

If yours happens to take longer than planned, remember that everything happens for a reason and in His time.

Thanks for the advice natpatben...will defently take that into consideration and get started on that stuff after we get the NOA

A and J

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to all as me and my other half are getting ready to send in our papers this week.

we spent all weekend getting everything together and all that's left is to do our passport photos and our I-129F packet is ready to head its way to VT.

He is from Florida and I'm from England. Any advice people can give would be greatly accepted and we look forward to getting to know everyone.

We also wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone on this site as we have been looking through it over the past week or so in order to get our heads around everything.

Good luck to everyone who is currently going through the process

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBest way to package the application
we just place our in order the order that we had outlined in our cover letter I-129F first, bio stuff second then evidence etc behind that...after we had checked everything was signed and dated we just put it in a document sized cardboard envelope with payment and photos. Sealed the envelope and off it goes happily to VT (well we hope happily)

And so the wait begins...Good luck

I agree this site is amazing and to think we only stumbled across it by accident. Through reading posts on here and following advice from past applicants we found the I-129F process pretty straight forward, just took a bit of time trying to get all the evidence itself together. The forms were fairly easy to fill out if you just read the guides available to you.

Ours is going in the post today, so time will soon tell if we filed it correctly. We can finally begin our journey biggrin.gif heart.gif biggrin.gif

I just wish you the best of luck in yours

United Kingdomwhat do you do?

Absolutely right - I started out doing admin type work (they couldn't quite understand why I wanted the job, but after months of visa/AOS ####### I would have counted paperclips if it meant having a job) and very quickly moved departments. It's a great way of establishing a work history, plus if you check out their tuition benefits you may well be eligible for benefits from other universities too. Not only that, but there are lots of other benefits to be had: the ones with med schools typically have on campus doctors offices, they will probably all have very good gyms, not to mention sports clubs, libraries, visiting speakers, more informal classes, and professional development classes.

Sad day today I had to leave the SO behind as my VWP is due to run out and i have my graduation this weekend, 3 weeks til he is here and hopefully not to long til i get back over there
